Got to start with our server Rilee, super friendly, courteous and came to our table often to find out if we needed anything. Kept our Iced Tea glasses filled. The enchilada, taco, Chile relleno and rice and beans plate were delicious. Very flavorful. Plenty of food on the plate for a big appetite. The price is so reasonable. Something that is hard to find here in NM - most restaurants beans and rice are bland, but Double C adds flavor and it tastes great! Chicken Tacos were overstuffed with tender flavorful chicken breast meat and cooked perfectly! Hubs had a custom order chicken burrito, they were very good ordering for someone with a lot of dietary restrictions. His burrito was very tasty and filling! *Note - prices are a few dollars per plate higher than the menus that I found online. But all restaurants have had to raise prices the past couple years. We really enjoyed lunch here at the Double C!!! Simple ambiance, though there is a bar, pool and dancing in the evenings. Kids are welcome! Delightfully surprised about the portions and taste of their menu. Though it was a first time experience, our food was pleasently delivered, delicious and enough to take home for another meal or snack! Waitress was great, checking on us and other patrons. If you're a local, a tourist, or just day traveling, stop and enjoy a tasty meal that won't ding your wallet. It's not far off the 40 @ exit 196! If you're maping it.... The food was decent to good, the service was great, it was odd having to get your own alcoholic drinks from the bar that was in the same room, but I am guessing that is a liquor law thing. It was cheap though... way cheaper than I am used to coming from up by Seattle. There this same food would have easily been 2-3x as much. I called this place to see if they have outdoor seating and the lady responds saying I have the wrong number. I thought she heard me incorrectly so I repeated myself to which she said "yea and I said you have the wrong number. This is a diner, not a shooting range." Not sure where she goes to eat, but it's not uncommon to have outdoor seating. If she's any indication of how this place operates, I would not recommend going here. read more

The food in this simple dinner was delicious! Homemade fries, homemade zippy salsa and homemade tortilla chips. The barbecue was sweet and tangy. The shredded beef taco was scrumptious. You might miss Double C's Diner because it is connected to Blackie's Lounge. They are two different businesses. The margarita bought at the bar was big and tasty.
