Yummy! We were traveling through the area and craving Mexican food. This was near our hotel so we popped in for a bite. Everything was delicious and just what we were hoping for after a long day's drive. We were sat quick, chips and salsa were on the table within seconds. There are so many good Mexican places around, I'm not sure I'd go back to Chile Verde. Pros: chips, salsa, margariatas (though, I wish they were stronger), friendly and attentive staff, quick service. Cons: The food was simultaneously bland and overly salty. We had Chili Verde cater our wedding on May 19th, 2018. We used their chips and salsa/queso bar for our cocktail hour and the taco bar for our reception food. Jocelyn (the catering manager) met with us and helped us decide which options to choose and how to set it up. They included some extra salsa flavors, which our guests loved! We loved having a taco bar, because it was different than typical wedding food and allowed our guests to customize their food. Would highly recommend for any event! read more

I've been here multiple times. Originally, they had the identify of a Mexican restaurant. Eventually I figured out they labeled themselves as "Tex-Mex" whatever that means. They provide complimentary tortilla chips and a chunky salsa. This last visit however came with a menu change. They labeled themselves as a "New Mexican" style restaurant and added a larger variety of food like a breakfast burrito, burger, and traditional tacos and enchiladas. I ordered the street tacos and my wife had the burger which comes with an egg on it. My street tacos were average at best. The meat and tortilla called a taco left my mouth quite dry and lacked something for me to say wow to. HOWEVER! My wife's burger was ridiculously good! It was juicy meat with a Mexican style flare and topped with an egg. I ate more of her food than she would have liked. I guess I'd say it's a must try. My next visit hopes to encounter more foods like their burger. I'll be back. read more

No bueno. New to the area and trying to find our next go-to Mexican restaurant since we both love it so much. Well, this is NOT it. Terrible service - we were like the only people in there, for reals, and didn't see our waitress but maybe 2.5 times. I had to flag down the bus boy just to get a refill. And this place is small. Like, I see you back there. Whatever. I just tried to use the one opportunity I saw her to ask for everything else we needed: a to go box, the check and her not to take 100 years to bring those things. I got so sick of waiting that I just slapped my credit card down on the table when the check finally arrived and asked her to take it. She asked if I wanted to look it over and I just thought to myself, "well, it's already way overpriced anyway with this service and gross food that I don't care." I told her just to take it. Oh, and bring me that box. Yea, the one I asked for last time. Gross food - the second star is for the salsa only. It was pretty tasty but not epic enough to ever return. I got the fajitas. I love fajitas. And even when fajitas aren't that great, I still love them. Not these, though. The veggies were all hard and uncooked. I mean, just let em sit for a minute. The chicken was bland. Chile Verde was ok. The margaritas were tasty and the chips and salsa were fresh. We ordered shortly after we were seated and the food came out quickly, they staff was friendly and prompt. I ordered the green chile mac and cheese, and was not impressed. It seemed like the mac and cheese from Costco, but doctered up with Chile's and pico de gallo. The portions are large and I had some to take home. It was pretty busy so maybe I ordered the wrong thing, but I probably won't be back. read more

AMBIANCE - I like the decor, unfortunately, the host seated us in an area where the floor is uneven so all the chairs rocked back and forth. FOOD/DRINK - The menu is not consistent with their other location, the beans that come on the side are SPICY. This means if you don't want spicy beans you have to request a separate side and pay extra. I always get the Grilled Chicken Fajita Burrito and will forever love this dish no matter which location I eat at. Now, let me get to the most disappointing part of our trip. The margaritas. I judge all mexican/texmex establishments based on their ability to produce a fresh tasting, not overly sweet margarita. We ordered a pitcher with 1800 and I was most put out when I couldn't even see ONE SPECK of lime pulp in my drink. AND it was VERY sweet. I asked our waiter about if a mix was used, since I know the other location uses fresh lime juice. He stated, they had a bartender-in-training and that they use a mix that includes fresh lime juice. I was pestered him a bit more telling him how I doubted that since there wasn't any pulp in my pitcher. He that said it was probably the top of the "mix." Not once, did he ever offer to replace our pitcher with another since we weren't happy. Went to this location during Dine Originals, restaurant week. Didn't see anything on the table or in the menu about it, so ask the waiter about what the special menus was, he said he would he didn't think they were doing it at this location but would ask. When he return he again stated that they were not doing Restaurant Week from dine originals at this location. We proceeded to order of the menu. No big deal, idea is to get us out to try different restaurants. My crab balls we're done to the point of burnt and cooked in old grease. The soup that was billed as a stew was thin and 1flavor note. My husband ordered a burrito that said it was spicy on the menu... no heat detected. He added my soup on top as a sauce. The website made a big deal of their salsa peppers flown in daily...I think it came out of a jar. Very strange cheese dip appeared to be Velveeta with chunks of tomatoes in it. The gentleman that seated us appear to be a manager so I called him over to show him on my smartphone that it indeed listed this location as listed on Dine Original, Restaurant Week. He said "so? I proceeded to say we had to ask the waiter he returned from asking you and said this location was not participating. I didn't want to get anyone in trouble I said. The manager said"that's not what I told him at all I told him what was on the menu". He kind of shrugged and walked away. Very strange encounter. We won't return. read more

First off, I LOVE Mexican food!!! So it isn't too hard to disappoint me but this food was really really good! The salsa wasn't too spicy and the chips were warm so we were off to great start. Well, I should also mention the hostess/ server that seated us who was a sweetie pie! I visited along with my daughter on a Thursday afternoon for lunch. I had the Anthony Border wrap and it was soooo good! For $9, I got a warm, Tex mex wrap that was stuffed full of Mexican yummy stuff and warm seasoned fries. My daughter ordered the street tacos and the meat was kindda dry for my liking but she had no complaints. Our server was adorable and very attentive. We never had to ask for more chips or refills on our drinks because she was On it. There was no crowd and the ambiance was like a Mexican restaurant for a Thursday lunch rush. Kindda laid back but everything was quick! I really wanted to get a margarita (because I freakin love them) but I had a long day ahead so I'll save it for the next trip. Went there this past weekend. My wife had the crab cakes (which I thought was unusual for a Mexican place) and I had the combo fajitas. First, the pricing is consistent with other chains and the one off Mom and Pop Columbus Mexican places. The food, not so good. Didn't ask my wife in much detail about her dish, just said it wasn't very good. My combo was steak and chicken and the meat is what I would term meat in a bag. Tasted like it was pre-marinated, processed meat, almost reminded me of the meat you get at Noodles (which ironically is next door). My reference to meat in a bag is because it was uniformly sliced very thin not to mention very dry. The veggies tasted fresh, but the rice was either under or over cooked as it was crunchy. Also, you don't get guacamole (which is pretty standard) and only a choice of one side. Usually beans and rice are standard as well. Very little cheese provided and if if you want more of the soft tortillas, you have to pay for them. The good, the margarita (I had a beer), chips were decent as was the sauce, though there was something different in it that I can't put my finger on. Service was good as well. All in all though, we will not be going back. read more

Yelp saved my night...again! Located close to Costco. Plus 5% rebate for yelp account w/my card tied to account. The decor and seating area all updated and nice! Service at door including server (Camden) was prompt/friendly and professional. 1800 margarita on rocks w/salted rim was extraordinarily good (it's easy to make an average margarita but need skill to make one like this). Huevos Rancheros for $11 is a great price and filling choice with very good flavor mix. Wish I lived in area so could make this a regular stop! read more

The service was excellent! Our server Ashley was super attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Even with the less than enjoyable food, the service made up for it. We ordered the blood orange margarita which was delicious. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the mahi-mahi tacos. At $14 dollars a plate for two tacos with beans and rice I was expecting a more flavorful and creative dish. The flavor of the fish was very plain and the toppings were disappointing. The toppings consisted of low quality shredded cheese, iceberg lettuce, and tomatoes. I would compare them to the quality and flavor of Taco Bell toppings. The rice was overcooked and very hard, it also lacked in flavor. The best part was the beans, they're served in a soup-like consistency with a little bit of kick from the spices. We ordered two of the same dish so I can't compare to other times on the menu, but I was not overly impressed by the options listed. You can tell the entrees are very Americanized i.e. mac n' cheese is an option at this "authentic" Mexican restaurant. I would not return to or recommend this restaurant. read more

Amazing again! My family decided to head here for family dinner quite suddenly. So I called at 5:30, on a Friday night, for a table of 6... sure, that will happen... we arrived at 6 to a restaurant filled with people excited to eat, and our table was all set up and ready for us before we even got there! This is my first review ever. I have to say the two previous times I went to chili Verde I did enjoy the food. However, yesterday my four-year-old son and I sat upfront without a hostess for over five minutes!!! We literally got up and walked out.. as a business owner it's probably good idea to greet people when they come into your establishment. While the foods was good and the service was fine, it's not a great value for the money. The chips and salsa are very good. There were three of us. We started with the Guacamole appetizer, it tasted good but for $7.50, we expected more than a ice cream size scoop sitting on lettuce in a small bowl. My daughter had a Kids size quesadilla with chicken for $6.50. She enjoyed it. Wife had a small bean/cheese burrito, it was just ok. I had shrimp fajita's. they were $16.00 for lunch and were quite heavy on the green peppers and onions and light on the shrimp. Excellent Tex-Mex food, great service. I could drink the salsa by the gallon, the chips were pretty good too, thicker and crunchier than most. I had the enchilada stack with an egg, delicious. The "medium" spice level was perfect for me, the pulled white meat chicken wasn't juicy but it wasn't dry either.
