We were craving KFC but not the chain KFC, so opened trusty Uber Eats (no not sponsored lol) and typed Korean fried chicken and this was the closest place near my friends place. He broke his leg so we got delivery and maybe got to go eat in person cause the 3 flavours we chose; YANGYEOM, SOY GARLIC and CHEESE were good but it was super cold so but disappointed and microwaving to resurrect the food isn't the same... Will try next time at the location.

KFC!!!! So I live 5 minutes from this location, I decided to come and finally check it out. Tucked away on busy Edmonds street, where the front entrance is in a back alley. Since Im familiar with the area I knew exactly where it is. For those of you coming from other areas might get lost. I ordered Half & Half, boneless Very Spicy Buldak & Sweet Spicy Yangyeom. I enjoyed both but Buldak was spicy, eat a couple of the pickled daikon to cut the burn. Chicken wasn't dry, crispy outside and enough sauce to add lots of flavour. I also added "cheese" fries. Which is a powder form you add to your fries, interesting. Meal cane with a can pop. I really loved the pickled daikon it came with. It was about 20 minutes wait, call ahead if not wanting to wait. Made nice and fresh. Good service. I wont hesitate to come back.

Small place along Edmonds, If you are using a GPS it will bring you infront, but actually the entrance of the restaurants plus the free parking is at the rear... Another korean fried chicken in town, This location is more of a to-go store, unbelievable how many comes and go during my stay to pick up orders,,... gez business is doing pretty good. There is 4 seats inside and allow dine in as well..."Freshly cook" that is why waiting is more than 10 minutes, sometimes 15 minutes....Just for information the snow chicken is not included in the half/half order but available as half order on its own.... I got the shake shake fries and as always it is awesome, I love it specially with extra salt and pepper... I ordered half soy sauce chicken and half of the snow chicken, huge serving well just right though, more than $10 per order plus tax and tip. Drink is free when you ordered half/half, i dont actually understand the server i just got a bottled water thats it... The fried chicken taste really good specially the snow chicken, but ive been to another Korean chicken and tasted better... just saying....maybe the kind of cheese they used.... Blue painted wall and its bare... cool looking and great on the background of my photos..... Service is friendly although their is a slight language barrier.... Good place to chill and eat your specialty Korean fried chicken.

COVID #12 It's in an alley. Yes, the entrance is actually in the back in an alley. If you drive by looking for a store front on the main street, you've already missed the boat. Come to the back. Enter from behind. Rear entry only. This is my fave KFC joint to date. No saucy, fancy toppings and whatever stuff for me. I want straight up virgin chicken with a bit of seasoning. That's all I need. Bareback, no coverings. I'm simple and easy to please. Something juicy and greasy, and it'll ease into your mouth and down your throat. They make it to order when you arrive. You can phone ahead to pre-order your oral delight. This is an easy repeat.

Based on a tip from a previous review, we placed our order online to avoid wait time since they cook your chicken upon ordering. We've been ordering this way for at least 3x already and its very convenient and fast. Hubby and I both love fried chicken and Chicko Chicken is definitely a great place to get Korean Style Fried chicken in Burnaby. We've tried both their original and soy chicken and they were delicious and crisp! Pricing is fair and portion size is good. I love that they include a serving of pickled radish with every order -- brings me back to when I used to travel to Seoul. Their flavored fries (cheese powder) is yummy too! Great accompaniment to the fried chicken. Location is a bit tricky at first since their door is actually facing the parking lot and not on Edmonds. Parking is available in front of Chicko Chicken too.

I waa looking for a picnic food and Chicko was one of 2 Korean fried chicken restaurants. My pal A and I were curious of Chicko so we ordered original boneless ($21). We both walked round looking for the restaurant sign and realized it was at the rear side. You can go straight into the restaurant from the rear parking lot. It's not visibly located from the front view. Fried chicken were fresh. Crispy and tender as well. I personally think half Original and half Yangnyeom would've been the BEST decision ever. There was so little pickled radish for 2 of us. Original was perfectly salty for Chimek and to drink with beer. Free pop was refreshing for fried chicken. I'm not sure if the dipping sauce is extra charge or free, but it sure would add some kicks in our food. Both of us couldn't finish it. It feeds 2 people and possibly 3 for those with small appetites. My experience would've been amazing if the fried chicken had generous amount of the raddish. You can earn points for every purchase via Chicko app.

So happy this little fried chicken joint opened up near me. Their original recipe is crunchy and well seasoned. I wasn't a fan of the garlic soy, but I can't wait to try all the other flavors. It will be my 3rd time back within the last 2 months. The owners seem like a lovely couple and really seem to care about their business.

Review is for the Robson location since there isn't a page for it. I stopped by here since the half size price was cheaper compares to other korean fried chicken shops, only $12.99. I got the soy garlic flavour and it took 20 minutes to be ready. Once my chicken was ready I decided to try it and I was impressed with the crunch. The batter was thick and crunchy which I liked, but the sauce was more like a dry rub than a sticky sweet sauce. The "garlic" also tasted more like ginger which I wasn't really a fan of and they had alot of chicken fat in the pieces. However, it was still really delicious but I think I will try another flavour/sauce next time.

Best Korean-style fried chicken in town!! I ordered a entire boneless chicken with Half/half. There is about ~30 pieces. Snow show: LOVE ITThe cheese powder is a bomb PLEASE try it if you haven't. It's cheesy but you won't get bored cuz it gives you a hint of 'milky cream' after taste. I couldn't stop and had almost 10 pieces of them Buldak: This is considered the classic Korean flavour. It goes the best with a can of iced beer It's slightly more spicy than the typical Korean sauce chicken. For whom can't endure spicy, I suggest to go with yangyeom flavour. 10/10i will definitely order again!!! Chicko Chicken

Edmonds location: entrance is around back in their parking lot. Korean style chicken is traditionally double fried so its flakier and less greasy than regular fried chicken. The chicken is fried when ordered so it never sits under a heat lamp. I ordered the boneless full order of original. Half & half of the Yangeom & Padak Padak. They were all delicious, moist & flaky. The second best thing is ordering through their app. Very easy and simple. Pay through the app, very Covid friendly. Only thing missing is info about serving sizes. How many does a full order serve? Personally it serves 2 people. This was my first experience with Chicko, and I definitely will go back and I also recommend you all try it once. My order was ready in 20 minutes, and was getting boxed when I walked in the door.

    Yangyeom, sweet and spicy.

This is our favourite Korean fried chicken joint in the city. We've returned over and over again, and have tried all the flavours Chicko offers! The cheese snow is by far our favourite, followed by the yangnyeom (sweet and spicy), but you can't go wrong with any of the others. The chicken is double fried and made fresh to order, and you'll also receive pickled radish with your order. Chicko doesn't charge extra for boneless chicken. The staff are always really friendly as well. Prices are pretty standard for KFC. Highly recommend coming here!

We were driving around downtown Vancouver on a Sunday rainy afternoon searching for something to eat (as usual) and Chung Chun Rice Hot Dog, of course, had a line up. We didn't want to stand in the rain, so we decided to order chicken from Chicko Chicken on Robson. We had the Half & Half [24.00] soy garlic sauce and yangyeom (sweet spicy sauce). The full order came with your choice of soda and a side dish of pickled radish. There was a chicken wing, drumstick, thigh and breast per flavour. The skin was crispy and flavourful. FYI, the chicken is made after you order and wait time is 20 minutes or more.

Half and half - Soy garlic and yangyeom
    Kay F.

No frills Korean fried chicken here. The soy garlic in particular was crisped to perfection and the yangyeom was also quite delicious. The spiciness was just right. We felt the padak was okay and the sauce was a little thick. Would love to go back and try some of their other varieties.

Service was pretty quick when I visited, wasn't too busy with about three other tables of diners. Food-wise: their prices and portions are quite reasonable but I have yet to discover my favorite menu item or their best dishes as taste for bulgogi was just okay. Overall, their weekday lunch special is good value. Though their food on my first visit wasn't especially memorable, their spacious interior + modern ambience + efficient service + good value and free parking brings them up from 3.5 stars to a 4 stars rating since this is a place I would definitely consider visiting again to try other dishes. And I am hopeful about finding items to my liking because they offer a fairly diverse food and drinks menu.

It's simply decorated with Soju bottles or posters of Korean pop stars or actors. Love the casual and laid back vibe! There is a bell on the table if you need attention from the servers, and they are usually pretty efficient and fast when it is rung. We saw that there was a $9.99 combo deal and everyone at our table was shocked. We all ordered that. The combo comes with your choice of a noodle dish (Jajangmyeon or Black Bean noodles, Korean udon, or Spicy Cold noodles) and a Beef Bulgogi on the side. I ordered the Jajangmyeon with the Beef Bulgogi and it was great! I enjoyed the nice chew from the noodles and the Black Bean sauce was flavoured well. I was pleased to find chunks of pork in the noodles also. The Beef Bulgogi was a little watery, but tasted sweet and tender. All that food for $9.99. That's unheard of in this economy and in these times! Amazing. We'll definitely return as we saw other great deals on the menu also!

I dont really like jambong, so I'm super glad 88 noodle house lets you choose 2 jjajangmyeon! Perfect combo. For the meat dish, you can get tangsuyuk or gganpunggi. We chose the gganpunggi (sweet chili chicken). Jjajangmyeon was ok. Nothing too special about it. Good portions. The gganpunggi was also a good portion! However, I found that it was mostly batter, and since they use a mix of tapioca starch and other as breading, it gets jello-y when not completely cooked. The flavor was really good, but I was disappointed with the batter to chicken ratio. I will continue my search for this type of combo!

Same goes for the sweet and sour pork. I love their coating and the flavour is great, but sometimes I just get a coated piece of fat which is a bit off-putting. We also like the japchae, but find it has a bit too much onion for us. Ok cold nights we like to get the 88 noodle soup. Hot, peppery, slightly spicy. Goes well with the pickles they give you.
