I'm very sure they skimp out on their uber eat deals because the receipt doesn't say 2 medium size but instead 2 "PRM" which I assume is promotion. I was very disappointed with the size. With other Korean fried chicken places the medium sizes are ~$22-25 and their family sizes are ~$30-35, with much more chicken than NeNe's supposedly $56 worth of chicken. We were in Vancouver and had a craving for some Korean fried chicken - inspired by the show on Netflix. So I asked around and it was recommended that I try Nene. This is truly a fried chicken place as fried chicken is the only entree item on menu. We ordered both bone in and boneless in original, snowing chili and snowing cheese flavors. The cheese one had a flavor close to white cheddar popcorn. Tasted great but after two pieces, I had enough. I ate more of the original and snowing chili ones. The spicy flavor invited us to eat more, . The skins were crispy and the meat itself was moist and flavorful. However, besides the flavor, I don't feel they are any different from KFC. I placed my order around 4:20 pm on Good Friday and got a text 20 minutes later saying that my order was ready. They're super fast! When I went to pick up, the whole store was empty and there were no other takeout orders, so I guess the hype has died down a LOT now. Since it was my first time, I tried the Classic with half original and half soy garlic. After tax it came out to around $30 for the order, which is a bit pricey. They do a fantastic job of packing it up. Even though we didn't get around to eating the chicken until ~50 minutes after it was ready, it was still warm and crunchy. In Seoul, I had a cheese powder korean fried chicken from one of SK's biggest chains. From then I was converted into the Church of Korean Fried Chicken. I was excited to see NeNe is also from SK and had a cheesling flavour, but it's a little different. The cheese has a yellow colour and taste is more reminiscent of cheez-it crackers. The topping powder is very generous. It looks like they use dark meat for the boneless chicken, so it's not tough, but I feel like chicken meat itself didn't have that much flavour. They only allow in person orders at this time (no online options). Also ONLY one customer group in the store at all times! We ordered the 1 whole chicken boneless - half and half flavored. We tried the original and swicy. I thought original was the green onion one but I was wrong. Overall the chicken was tender and the outside/ skin was crunchy! Well worth the price and wait! I would come here again and I think NeNe is better than other Korean Fried Chickens I've tried! The boneless option made the experience more enjoyable and easier for older adults to eat! I had a 10 minute drive from work and the order was ready when I got there. I ordered the Hot-Bling burger combo which came with fries and a soda. The price is pretty reasonable compared to other burger places. The menu had two chilis indicating the spiciness, but wasn't that spicy. However, it had enough spice combined with the bit of sweetness with crispy and moist chicken made it a very good burger. The bread was different (good different) and still a bit toasty by the time I ate it. The fries was packed in this little rectangular box, was a bit on the soft side, but not the restaurants fault, just took too long for me to eat. Solid fries. NeNe Chicken is definitely one of my go-tos for delicious, tender chicken and friendly service! I really like their Creamy ON chicken! The sauce is absolutely delicious and full of flavor, with a subtle hint of sweetness. The onions are delicious and fresh! The soy garlic was a bit of a miss for me. I liked the hint of spice in it but it didn't remind me of soy garlic at all. The burger was unique and had a tender chicken cutlet as well, and the pineapple was sweet but I didn't taste much of the teriyaki sauce. -Waiting in line for chicken was worth it.- While Korean style fried chicken is pretty consistently awesome across most places, I would like to point out what NeNe does really well. First, the pickled radishes on the side. Perfect balance of sweet and sour and offsets the fried chicken itself. The snowy cheese flavor reminds me a lot of powdered cheese from a bag of chips. But it's not a strong salty affair. It's a bit more subtle than I thought it would be. The chili chicken is more sweet sour and savory. I actually would have went for a hot flavor next time. If you like spicy food, you can definitely try the spicer options. But for those that can't take heat, it should be fine. What I really appreciate is the plastic gloves for you to use to eat. The snowing cheese didn't have much cheese flavour, can barely see cheese on the chicken. Snowing chilli was pretty good, got a bit of kick to it, and it was a bit sweet too. Original green onion fried chicken was disappointing because the sauce didn't taste good at all. Maybe it's just me, but I was expecting somewhat authentic Korean green onion fried chicken taste, but this one had this weird wasabi or mustard taste to it. Finally got around to ordering chicken from Ne Ne Chicken just blocks away from whenever I lived. Since the day it opened, it was packed and line ups stretched around the block. Today, the line up was short but the wait was still long. Waited about 40 min for my order and was not overly impressed considering the price and wait. My Yes chicken sandwich was cold by the time I received it and ate it at home and the boneless original/ soy garlic was not impressive at all. I tried the swicy boneless chicken and to be honest the sauce was pretty mediocre - was visiting from TO and the flavour didn't compare to some spots here. The store offers no option of online or phone order which make everyone walk-in to line up 15 minutes minimum for order and then wait at least 30 minutes for your food to be ready. Because the store is afraid that they cannot handle the onlines and walk-ins. This is a bad business planning. I looked at the people in the line, 99% are on their smart phones while waiting. I am pretty sure there will not be very few walk-ins if there is online order option. Then your customers can plan their their ordering and pickup time no matter how long the wait time is. Don't have to spend 1-2 hours in front of the store. I am pretty sure the lineup now is much shorter than the initial opening days. You will see no lineup in 3 months. Finally tried this hyped up chicken and I got to say that it lived up to its reputation for me. I had heard about the crazy lines, but there was nothing of the sort when I got there on a Friday afternoon. I think this is because of their new online ordering system. I ordered online and the chicken was ready in 20 minutes. I even got a text letting me know I could pick up my chicken. I got the Classic Range (bone-in, half and half) with half Original, half Snowing Cheese. It was a good portion size and the presentation was very cute (it came in a pizza box type container). I wasn't able to eat it right away, but I ended up air frying it when I got home. If you can't eat it fresh, I highly recommend air frying it. The chicken was delicious, especially the Snowing Cheese. I loved the batter on the chicken - it was so crunchy and well seasoned. All in all, I would most definitely get this chicken again. The chicken inside is also very juicy and tasty. - The swicy is more sweet than spicy. I'd say low on the spicy scale, but very tasty. - I liked the snowing cheese much more than I thought I would. It has a little sweetness in addition to the cheesy flavour, which me and my family really liked. - Finally, the soy garlic was actually the favorite of most of my family. It is also a bit sweet, but has a nice flavour to it. It is also about as spicy, or maybe spicier than the swicy if you just have the sauce by itself. We also had some onion rings and shack shack fries. - The onion rings, like the original chicken, showcase how good their batter is. Spot on crispiness. - The fries, once shaken with the snowing cheese powder were really good. Again, a bit of sweetness and cheesiness. It reminds me of the cheese powder on hurricane potatoes (rotato). The packaging is unique, and they include wet naps and thumb&finger gloves so you can pick up the chicken without getting your fingers all saucy. I just happened to came by the chicken shop on Kingsway and bought a portion of soy and original yesterday. I went back home and i ate a few pieces around 8 pm. I had a food poisoning and from 10:30 pm till 2 pm my stomach cannot digest and I spend 3.5 hours trying to get the foods out of my system. I had to take beptibismo and after 1 hour my stomach feel better. My stomach normally good only when I ate at a restaurant that is dirty or the foods have issues then my stomach cannot digest.
