If I could rate it less than one star, I would. As soon as I walked in I heard the manager or owner arguing with an employee, and she did NOT stop when I walked in. Nor did she care that there were customers sitting and eating. Also, I ordered two large chops and both hardly had any food in them and had the wrong rice. They don't use the original chicken kitchen rice, they use some pale yellow colored rice that looks like white rice with yellow food coloring added. I also added two extra half pitas and they just gave me one entire pita and didn't have the decency to cut it in half. Not like they were busy with the three people sitting down and already eating. If you're a germ freak during this corona virus pandemic, DEFINITELY don't come here. Employee giving me my food wasn't wearing a mask OR gloves. Atrocious. eh, i just visited the new chicken kitchen in cutler bay, not nearly enough meat. Literally its the same as a medium for a large, they make you pay for more rice and tomatoes and give an equal amount of rice. I miss when chicken kitchen was poppin', but now, 18 years later its a clown party. They don't seem to listen to customer reviews either. The people preparing the meals were NOT wearing gloves, after ringing up customers and touching money. The chicken was dry and the rice burnt and over cooked. There was bugs, both dead and alive, in the sides. While standing there I managed to get some pictures. I counted 8 bugs in total. A heath inspector needs to make a serious stop here! First it was I couldn't use my coupon because of the location I was going too so I brushed it off and my order was nothing complicated it was rice,chicken,pita,and extra skin. The rice nor the skin were probably cooks the rice is hard and the skin wasn't fully cooked it seems like they cooked the skin a bit then peeled it off to continue cooking the chicken some more to get some color. I got a side of guacamole and it was super runny and it was on top of hot steam. I have never written a negative review in the past, but this time I just had to. I went to this place several for the convenience of being right next to my house. First of all the bad experience starts right from the beginning you walk in that door. Where grumpy employees greet you with an angry face. Second, the menu is not clear enough. There is the "original" bowl which is just yellow rice and chicken. If you want to add basic ingredients such as lettuce or tomates, you have to pay additional for EACH basic topping (im not talking about guac, im talking about things like lettuce). Then, I told them i wanted the original bowl but with brown rice instead. They charged me an extra $4 just for switching the rice!. Making a boring plain brown rice with chicken plate $12 dollars. If you are into healthy eating, there are plenty of other options around Doral, including Pollo Tropical where a full chicken plate with rice and beans is only $7. Chipotle is always a good option as well. Even La Granja doesn't charge as much. read more

We had a horrible experience with the food being undercooked at this location and it happened again. My coworkers and I went to eat here and the chicken was undercooked, raw, chewy, and had a slimy coating over the chicken. We asked for a new plate of chicken and it was the same. This is concerning!! One of the employees said it was the new brand of chicken they were buying that had a lot of hormones in it. This is disgusting. Started going to this one because of an offer on groupon although I have one a little closer to me. After using both groupons Id much rather drive the extra couple of miles. To me the biggest difference is the friendliness of the staff. The cook has always been friendly and Wayne has been extremely personable. The food is very similar to the other chicken kitchens and its not that much different that it would steer me away. Usually Chicken Kitchen is a decent stop for quick lunch. This place is a disgrace to the business. Now I'm not looking for gourmet chicken here, but at least have the same quality and service as the other Chicken Kitchens in Miami. I have eaten at this location three times now which was two too many. Each time it got progressively worse. The rice is dry, overcooked and cold. The chicken barely seems cooked and the sides look and taste like they've been sitting out since they built the building. Oh and also remember to bring a fly swatter if you need to get to the fountain drinks. Everything terrible thing that has been said about this place is true. I'm hard at hearing Spanish, but I'll try if you try speaking English. I can't really complain as much, because they weren't rude or anything, but the quality in food brought the scores down. The chicken is left too long on the grill making it too dry, there isn't enough seasoning on the chicken, the fooding area did not look fresh. One of the employees combined the lettuce into one container--right in front of me. Keep in mind, if you want extra chicken--why would you want extra dry chicken?--it's $1.49 extra to your order. The guy put the beans only on one side and it wasn't a good about compared to the three scoups of yellow rice. It was a quick in and out type of thing when you order your food. All in all, I really wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The people are okay, but the food quality isn't worth the price they're asking for. They need to redo their business--completely. This Chicken Kitchen restaurant is amongst the worst places you can go to eat. They are overly expensive (it seems they think it is a five star restaurant) and the food is of very bad quality (they even charge you for any sauce you ask for - but you NEED the sauces......How else are you going to cover the flavor of old stale "food"?).
