I keep trying to give this location a chance because it's close by and I've been eating chicken kitchen for probably 20 years but the quality just isn't there. The rice is usually overcooked and the portion of chicken is almost insulting. They have an up-charge for every topping you add which I don't recall being a thing in past. They even charge for leaving the skin which was always free since they would trash it. If you do plan to eat from this location, I highly recommend purchasing in person. I recently went to the South Beach location on Alton Rd and 15th, and they tried to charge me $1 just to leave the skin on my chicken. Are you serious? Charging for something you usually throw in the trash? That's insulting. Over the years, I let a lot slide -- like shrinking the sauce containers in half and limiting how many you get -- all clearly just ways to cut corners. But this new charge was the last straw. I walked out and didn't even buy the Chop Chop I came in for. That's how disrespected I felt as a long-time customer. I even reached out to Chicken Kitchen to share my frustration, and guess what? The toppings are all an extra $1.50+ and again... they give you the least possible amount. The worst of it all is the sauce cups. After 3, they charge you AGAIN for extras. But now here it goes: they CHOPPED the size of the sauce cups in HALF. So you have no other option but to ask for more. What happened to the old chicken kitchen??? I occasionally order delivery from Chicken Kitchen. I usually get the Original Chop with extra chicken; it's always consistent, chicken is really good. I've gotten the Caesar Wrap without rice (that's why I get the wrap in the first place), and the wrap is also really good. For me, this restaurant is reliable and good. My husband and I have been long time customers at this chicken kitchen being that we live in the area. Today will be the last day we come to this location. They are set to close at 10 PM, my husband and I got there at 9:35 maybe 9:40, which we've been a couple times in the past month around that time and service has always been fine. But today, we walk in and all the food was put away and one of the Asian ladies that was working tonight (there are two and one is always there and extremely pleasant) seemed like she was annoyed that we came in. When we placed our order, she was about to give my husband a bowl that was already half filled with rice that looked dried out and had already a sauce mixture in it. My husband asked if she can start a new bowl with the fresh rice that was brought out from the back for us and she began giving us a terrible attitude. We had to remind her for the chop chops that we got what goes in a simple Cuban chop... she forgot on both the black beans and tomatoes and when we corrected her she said she did put them in and got upset and to prove she was right; she started digging through the bowl with utensils to prove it. While waiting to check out, she rung us up and then proceeded to start cleaning up rather than charge us so we can leave. We stood their waiting for her. The plus side I guess was she didn't charge us for the extra chicken we ordered for both chops which she seemed to notice as well but rather than void her mistake she charged us just so we got out of there. I didn't visit this particular location. My review is based on the food. The quality is definitely good and taste was not bad. I normally order a small deluxe chop but once I ordered a large. The large was the same amount of chicken as the regular just more rice, it would be nice if the menu shows large as same amount of chicken and more rice but I guess they would embarrass themselves. I tried the curry sauce which barely has a hint of curry flavor and the entire chop lacks salt (they should have salt n pepper shakers on the tables). Also, what's with the pita bread? I'm eating a plate of rice with some chicken on it. The woman behind the counter said that's how you eat it, I opted for a fork and told her to keep the pita.
