Went to Galipan Bake House in Kendall on my second stop while on a mission to find a good cachito. The place is simple but pleasant, with both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff was friendly and polite. I ordered the ham and cheese cachito, and oh my goodness... it instantly took me back to the ones I used to eat as a kid in school in Venezuela. The size was perfect, the flavor was spot on, and even though it was a little greasy, it was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is nothing fancy, just a normal bakery vibe, but I didn't care. The cachito was that good. I didn't try anything else, so I can't speak for the rest of the menu, but for the cachitos alone, I'd happily drive from Miami Lakes all the way to Kendall again. Galipan Bakehouse was an okay experience overall. The café itself is cute, and while the space is on the smaller side, it has a nice atmosphere if you're looking for a quick stop. Unfortunately, the coffee just wasn't my favorite--I was hoping for a bit more flavor. The service was also a little hit or miss. We were overlooked a couple of times, but it seemed like the staff was handling a busy rush, so I don't think it was intentional. This isn't my first review, I've been here plenty of times. But today I finally tried the guava and cheese pastry. I've always seen it, just never ordered it because I figured it was "just" guava and cheese. Big mistake. This is hands down one of the best guava and cheese pastries I've ever had, and I grew up eating these. Perfect balance, not overly sweet, and just done right. Keep in mind the location is right off of a main road so you'll have to go behind the lot to park but don't let that deter you. They have delicious sweets you'll be craving if you don't try! Small bakery with good pastries. There's not much seating inside and if you order to-go, then you have to awkwardly stand between tables since there's not much space inside. The place is rather hidden and little bit difficult to find. I ordered a bomba and fruit tart. The bomba was good, but overfilled with dulce de leche in my opinion. Everything we tried was delicious! 10/10 recommend the mushroom and manchego toast. The avocado and egg toast was huge and loaded up with egg and avocado; we shared it amongst 3 of us and still didn't finish it. Each toast was between $16-$18. Our lattes were a bit pricier than I'm used to (around $8 each) and as expected for a latte. All of the pan, sweets, and pastries were tasty and fresh. The space was crowded when we came in but we were able to get a small table and enjoy our meal. The staff was nice, friendly, and patient with my parents who do not speak Spanish (which was appreciated). Not pictured: almond croissant & key lime tarte (to go, and around $15 total) which were both fresh and tasty. We also ordered a quesadilla (about $6) which had a sweet cheese filling baked atop/in the middle of the dough. One downside... YOU, the customer, has to pay the credit card fee of 3+%, which I did find off putting after spending over $75 in their establishment. I could see if it was under a $10 purchase, but when you're spending $75+ it feels like sneaky business to pay the stores credit card fee (which is a business expense on their end), while also covering the tip and taxes, which are expected. read more

The tequenos are the best I've had in Kendall. They make them fresh and they're crispy and soft. You have to wait about 7-10 minutes before they're ready so order ahead of your pressed for time. The vanilla latte with oat milk is also delicious. I came back for them 3 days in a row. They're consistent and it always tastes the same. Definitely recommend. It is on the pricier side. This spot is in the heart of Kendall. It's a great Venezuelan spot to have breakfast. The food is fantastic, everything I got was perfect. From the avocado toast to the pastries. Every time I come here, the service is great. They bring your food fairly quick for how packed it usually is in the morning. I love their tequeños, they are definitely made fresh. They come out so warm and crispy. Their cheese bread is delicious and such a good size. Don't even get me started with their pistachio croissant, it's so fluffy and they put a great amount of pistachio spread inside of the croissant. They also have iced lattes, I enjoyed the caramel iced latte. It was a perfect balance, not too sweet and not too bitter. This hidden gem in Kendall is tucked away in back of a shopping center. I would have never guessed such a great cafe and bakery existed at this location. The place is small but aesthetically pleasing, with an open concept outdoor seating area that makes it feel inviting. Service was quick and efficient. I considered this spot a marvelous hidden little gem for bread & pastries. Since they opened I've frequently stopped by for various items especially the baguettes & paying under $2, granted they're not big. Today when I went in & asked for the same baguette but was surprised when I checked my receipt to see I was charged $3.65 for the same bread. I tried resolving it by calling & merely asking for the difference to be returned to me. According to them, a baguette is a canilla, & it's priced differently. Normally I'd continue pushing for a refund but the small difference isn't worth it. Lesson learned & a loyal customer lost. Posting this as an FYI so others know their terminology. read more

Im in trouble...oh boy! I discovered this bakery this past weekend and grabbed an apple pastry and iced latte to go. It took me a few loops around the street and shopping center to get there but it's so worth it! The pastry dough melts in your mouth and the apple filling isn't too sweet. Perfect combination! The coffee is from Perla Roasters. I have been missing them since the closed the gables store but I'm glad I can get my lattes here so close to home! Can't wait to be back for more pastries. Upon walking in, I was kindly greeted by the team. They have a counter filled with delicious-looking baked goods. I went with a Pan Dulce and a Caramel Iced Latte. The Pan Dulce was soft, fluffy, and perfectly sweet. The iced latte was a regular iced latte, nothing impressive. No joke, the food/baked goods here are AMAZING. Best croissants and pastries I've had in the area, and honestly my life . I had a Nutella bomba, pistachio croissant, pastelito de carne, and a ricotta and spinach pastry. All amazing, the pastelito was a little small, but delicious (also should be obvious but it's Venezuelan style not Cuban, so bread is different.) Atmosphere was cute, and had a shaded patio. The restaurant was clean and the lady who took our order was incredibly sweet, I wish I asked her name . I'm learning/practicing Spanish and she was more than willing to listen and even helped me learn some new words. Absolutely will go again, I only had the pastries since the menu was a little more expensive, but based on my experience it's more than worth it! 10 out of 10!! read more
