As a vegetarian, I overlooked this place at first. I'm glad I stopped and actually read through the menu one day. They offer a vegetarian "fried chicken" made out of tofu. You can substitute any of their sandwiches with this tofu option and it is cheaper than their chicken sandwiches. It's so nice to find a restaurant that is conscious of vegetarian costumers and doesn't charge a vegetarian tax! You can also get the tofu on their salads and waffles. When we've substituted the tofu on a sandwich with bacon, they've put the bacon on the side for our dog and wrote him sweet notes on the box. Also their side of Mac and cheese is delicious and an extremely generous portion for only $3. I cannot recommend this place enough for vegetarians. You'll easily get two meals out of each sandwich. I found this place by accident. A happy, fortunate, and damn lucky accident. Was just looking for a quick place to pick up dinner for the family. It is tucked away in the back of a small plaza. I would not suggest going there to eat as they seem to have room for the one in dory table, maybe when it is nice they have outdoor tables. The sandwiches are enough to eat for dinner and then have leftovers for lunch the next day. All seem to be served on thick toasted Texas toast. The service was very friendly, something a lot of places could learn a lesson or 3 from. The homemade potato chips were probably the best I have had ever. No grease at all. The chicken tenders my kids had looked like they came off of Godzilla. They each could only eat 1 of the three that came with their meal. It's not cheap but well worth it. Store is where Penfield Hots used to be. I had been reminiscing about the chicken sandwich from Superfly DMC, now closed, the After School Special and their homemade chips. Chain store chicken sandwiches are just okay... Pickup order was fast and they are very efficient in the store. I was literally in the store for 2 minutes max. I look in the bag... and they use the same box as Superfly had used! However.. the chicken sandwich was sublime. I got the chick magnet and the spicy sandwich. Chicken was perfect - light, moist, very crispy. Probably one of the best chicken sandwiches I may have ever had. The sandwich was also quite large and was larger than one would get from any chain store. Maybe more expensive but I would get this over Popeyes or Chix Fil A any day. Mac and cheese was good. Standard fare more than passable, but the Chick Magnet was soo good that it would have been hard to reach such heights. The chips are similar to those from Superfly, but a little thinner and smaller. And great value for the price (sorry to Janus for the review earlier that indicated the price was too high). $8 to $10 for a fantastic, and I do mean fantastic and large chicken sandwich? That's a great price. My wife ordered for takeout. We hadn't eaten at the food truck before (our bad), and we just became aware of the restaurant which apparently opened in December in the midst of the pandemic. I wasn't sure that one sandwich would be enough. I looked at the price and said they have to be small. I only ordered one and I was glad I did. I was full. Had a Riley's with the sweet sauces and banana peppers. Asked for the sauces on the side and sure enough, they arrived on the side. Probably half an hour from when my wife picked up the meal to when we sat down to eat. It was still warm and the bread was still holding up well (love the idea of thick toast instead of a bun). Not soggy at all. I had the chips (The Nest) which were wonderful - crispy and delicious. My wife indicated they were probably the best part of the meal. Kudos to Chick Magnet for making a wonderful takeout experience. Love to see a local restaurant transition and succeed. And loved that everything was packed in cardboard containers that didn't steam the food and make it soggy and best of all lend to recycling. Decided to write a review when my husband noticed how many times our favorite 'to go' restaurant was showing up on our debit card :)! All the picky eaters in our household are happy when we order from here. LOVE the sauces and the portions are huge giving us plenty for lunch the next day. The staff is great! It's more takeout, but there are some booths inside and a deck seating in nice weather.
