    Chicken sandwich

Great chicken sandwich. (They should probably tone down those florescent lights though. Yikes!)

    Philly sandwich

Tender and plump and crispy tenders. Was very filling. We got the Philly sandwich also which was amazing. We had an order of the loaded nests. Those are definitely sharable portions. The nest was good but for some reason I thought I was ordering loaded fries. My fault completely. Solid place to lunch! Service was fast and knowledgeable. The restaurant was large and spacious and I appreciated the fact they have tables and booths to choose from.

The No-Chick Chick (The Chick Mi Sandwich with tofu) and The Nest

This diner is surprisingly vegetarian friendly (not vegan though). I was a bit nervous when friends wanted to come here, but didn't need to be, the "No-Chick Chick" takes any of the traditional sandwiches and substitutes tofu, and it was honestly amazing. I got the Chick Mi sandwich with tofu which was impressively crispy and served on Texas toast. The pickled veggies and sriracha mayo went very well with the tofu, it was genuinely delicious and I will definitely come back. The table shared 'The Nest' (ribbon cut, seasoned chips) with a side of cheese as recommended to us by the staff (a great addition). Service was quick even with a big crowd and the restaurant was clean and comfortable. As far as the chicken goes, multiple people rang the "best chicken sandwich ever" bell while I was here, including members of my table. I would say this is well worth a visit whether or not you eat chicken.

    Nashville Tenders Level 2

The first thing I have to say is that the chicken was cooked to perfection. Whether it was the Riley's Chick, the Cali Chick, or the Nashville tenders, the chicken shined. Crispy and succulent, this chicken will make your soul smile. Split sandwiches with my friend and the second stand out was the bread. I don't want to know how they toasted it but it was the most consistently crispy toast I've had on a sandwich - and that's saying a lot... The Cali chick was amazing! The guacamole and lettuce brought balance and freshness to the deep fried chicken. Classic and very very good sandwich. Riley's chick had a great first bite, but as I hit the second or third bite, the sweet onion jam was too much. The flavor lingered longer than the rest and while it blended well initially, it quickly became overwhelming. The Nashville Tenders.... Brother bear.... The tenders... plump, crispy, moist.... So flavorful! If I came here for just tenders I'd be a happy man. The magnet sauce provided cooling and balance to the saltiness of the seasoning on top. Overall may be the best tenders I've had in a loooooong time. The Nest was kind of like hand cut chips. While not thin enough to be a chip, had the crunch of. It had enough body to still also feel the flakiness of the potato. Loved it. But we ordered one for each of us and that was tooooo much. Haha very much something to share. Service was great - guy at the counter manned two registers to get our orders in quickly. Ambiance was classic diner-esque vibes; booths and tables with the napkin dispenser and the occasional dirty table - it was great. Overall 9/10 - while the sweet onion jam was too much for me, I couldn't help but give this place 5 stars! Would come again!

First time to order from Chick Magnet. Observation of restaurant, as I walked in it was clean and spacious with lots of tables to eat. I was greeted with a hello and the staff was friendly while taking my takeout order. The food arrived quicker than expected, and the manager noted that because the tenders I ordered were on the smaller size an extra one was added to my order at no cost. Once home the chicken tenders were delicious, the crust was crunchy and the meat was tender and warm. Even though I was told the tenders were on the smaller size, they were still pretty large. I believe these were the best chicken tenders I've had in Rochester. As for sides, ordered a Nest and a Loaded Nest which is a potato cut into curls and fried. The loaded nest came with cheese sauce, bacon, sour cream, and chives. All were delicious and you get quite a bit for an order at a great price. I will definitely be eating here again.

I asked for my meal to be gluten free and it was not. Normally really great though, just sad I can't eat it this time!

Chick Magnet makes the best fried chicken sandwich in town, and it's not even close. Happy they have a location closer to me!

Boss Fights and Bites Food Review: Sal's Birdland…read more What's good everybody--welcome back to Boss Fights and Bites, where we take on the toughest bosses and the boldest bites. Today, I pulled up to a Rochester classic--Sal's Birdland--famous for their legendary signature sauce. I grabbed the 6-piece chicken wings, and here's how they stack up on the Boss Fights and Bites scale. Flavor = Power-Ups The flavor is where Sal's goes full cheat code. The first bite gave me that crispy crunch, and then the signature sauce hit like grabbing a star in Mario--sweet, tangy, spicy, all layered together. It's bold, it's unique, and it straight-up makes the wings shine. For flavor, I'm giving this 9/10 Power-Ups. Portion Size = Extra Lives Here's where it gets tricky. Six wings? That's like starting a boss fight with only one extra life--you know you're gonna need more to finish the game. The wings were great, but the portion left me still hungry. For portion size, I gotta call it 6/10 Extra Lives. Texture / Cook Quality = Boss Hits Crispy outside, juicy inside--that's how wings are supposed to be. Every bite felt like landing a clean combo on the boss. No soggy wings, no dry meat--just cooked right. For quality, that's 9/10 Boss Hits. Overall Experience = Levels Cleared The vibe at Sal's is pure Rochester culture. The wings, the sauce, the tradition--it feels like something every local knows and every visitor has to try. It's messy, it's bold, and it's got history behind it. I'm calling it 4 out of 5 Levels Cleared. Final Score = Boss Fights and Bites Power Meter Put it all together, and I'm giving Sal's Birdland wings a solid 8.5 out of 10 on the Boss Fights and Bites Power Meter. Legendary flavor, crispy wings, unforgettable sauce--the only thing holding it back is that portion size. And that's the review right here on Boss Fights and Bites--where we mix the games with the eats. If you want wings that hit like a boss battle and a sauce that feels like a power-up, load into Sal's Birdland and see if you can clear the level. Until next time--keep grinding, keep gaming, and keep eating like a champ.

I will call him in the morning." "No they aren't opened tomorrow", was the response. I am still trying to figure out with 3 people-$10 max per person should have been $30 NOT $97???????? Based on our previous visit I was guessing roughly maybe $40 at best~but $97? I am hoping the owner reads this and forwards a phone call my way. I know there must be some mistake.

The majority of the menu is Turkish, and they are using authentic ingredients either imported from Turkey, or from the region. Our food was yummy and very reminiscent of the breakfasts we enjoyed when we were traveling. First, this place is in a strip mall and may not be easy to spot; second it's small, and despite their efforts to jazz up the interior with themed seating areas, it has a very take-out sort of vibe; and third, there are other things on the menu that I'm guessing they offer because of their proximity to RIT, but take my word for it - stick with the Turkish items and you will not be disappointed! Our order included the 'sucuklu yumurta', which is basically eggs with Turkish sausages served in it's own metal pan, plus the bagel plate, and I had the 'tray' (the name of which I cannot remember) which came with hard boiled eggs, fruit, cheese, tea, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers and a roll. It was almost exactly the breakfast we had every morning in Turkey, except the fruit we had there was fresh and here it was a kind of preserve. The portions may seem a little small, but prices are very good, and I would definitely recommend getting more things than you think you need just so you can try more and ensure you will leave satisfied. We are looking forward to going back and eating more of the menu!

Street parking only - don't park behind the building. No steps to get in but there are double doors that might be challenging for someone with mobility challenges. Signs on the door said no public restroom, so take care of business before you come here lol. Lots of K-pop to watch on the TVs. Check the website if this is your first time here. The website describes all of the sauces for the chicken and how spicy they are. I ordered the boneless Gangnam lunch special. It came with 5 pieces of boneless chicken breast, white rice and a beverage (I had a water). I also ordered a side of the pickled radish to try. It was 15 min for the food to come out, but it was hot and fresh! I had to let it cool down before I could take a real bite. It was excellent! And I loved the pickled radish too! Sadly no one else came in to eat while we were there. There were a couple people that came in for pick up orders. I hope people will support this business so it stays open. I would come back but would order ahead so I didn't have to wait for the food.
