I'm incredibly disheartened, writing this review, but "shrinkflation" has struck Wings Over. They used to have the absolute best chicken wings and tenders, no other place ever came close. But yesterday, the order we got was just beyond disappointing. I kid you not, these sad things they called "tenders" were basically the size of McDonald's nuggets. What used to make them great was the ratio of meat to breading - the breading was an accent, not the main event. Now it's basically half and half. A chewy unpleasant mess. No notification or follow up, the only thing you can do is call them where the phone gets passed around through 3-4 different employees who all need you to re-explain what you need. Asked the manager if they could somehow contact the Uber Eats merchant support line because they said the issue was there was no driver (The meal had been sitting there for 1-2 hours), but she said no, and that my only option was to pick up the order in the store. I do not have a car. There was no offer to remake the order so it is hot/fresh or make anything right. I don't know why they allow you to place delivery orders if they have no way to get the order to you, and won't do anything to solve the issue preventing people from getting orders. The vibe of my experience was an overwhelming "screw you" where nobody, from the underpaid employees to the manager seemed to care at all, and I am sure this reflects on the quality of service in person as well. read more

It was my first time visiting a Wings Over franchise and amazed at the wide variety of options that were available. I tried out the 25 wings, chicken sandwich and fried chicken sandwich. 25 Wings: I ended up getting 3 flavours - Sweet Korean Fire, Cajun and Medium. The wings were fresh & hot with a good size of wings. Out of all of the flavours the Cajun was the best in my opinion. They also let you include a choice of cheese sauce on the side so, I went with the usual blue cheese. Waffle Fries: It's a must to have the cajun seasoning on it. The waffle fries were delicious and amazing seasoning especially when it's piping hot and fresh. The fries definitely tasted like great quality waffle fries that's worth the price you pay for. Fried Chicken Sandwich: The chicken is juicy and crispy with a nice crunch sound. Also nice that you could pick any sauces (since most places I've had it's usually a fixed sauce for fried chicken sandwiches). It was quite filling than it looks! I was craving tater tots at around 9 PM and I remembered Wings Over had garlic parm tots on their menu. I placed a pickup order through their website and it was ready in 15 minutes. When I got there, the parking lot had 5-6 other cars, which was surprising given the time. I didn't have any issues parking, though. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. I wasn't expecting it to be bad, just didn't have super high expectations for a chain. However, the tots were perfectly crispy and had a ton of flavor. I also got two tenders in the Korean Sweet Chili sauce and a tender sandwich. The sandwich was a great little snack on its own. The tenders were crispy and not soggy at all. The Korean sauce didn't really have any Korean flavors (I'm Korean), but I didn't expect it to be super authentic. It was still a great tasting sauce. My entire order was around $10, which is pretty cheap considering the quality. I'll be back again for sure. read more

We got 25 Medium heat wings. It was perfect just the right amount of heat. . With our order we got some chunky blue cheese dressing it's pretty good. Was pleasantly surprised when I tasted the food from Wings Over. I didn't have high expectations but they exceeded my original and really delivered on the flavor and quality. He had a little of everything, my wife and I split up our meals to try everything we ordered and every thing tasted great! Buffalo chicken sandwich was fresh and I got the medium buffalo sauce that was on point. The side was the garlic parm tots. That tasted so good my wife begged for the rest of them after tasting some. The bacon ranch chicken wrap was excellent and reliever on all the notes. I couldn't wait to write a review for Wings Over Rochester! Honestly the wings are so good. I like that they have a wide variety of different sauces and dipping sauces. Blue cheese all the way! It was my first time coming here, so I asked the employee what they suggest and let me tell you, she was not wrong about their Cajun BBQ wings and Kickin BBQ tenders. We also ordered Garlic Parm Waffle fries!!! The waffles were very crispy and I could not stop eating them, I wanted to order more! They are a little pricey in my opinion, but it is worth the try. Been wanting to try "Wings" for a while now but whenever I passed by it never seemed to be open. That's because it's one of those restaurant's that doesn't open until after 4pm. So if you're a person that likes to eat chicken wings for lunch..you're out of luck. So I did finally get a chance to try wings..late night after my brother got out of work, decided to stop by. He got 3 different flavors. Hot garlic, red alert, and traditional teriyaki. I will be honest and I am going to say I didn't care for these wings. I'm not the type that will turn their nose down to a non crispy chicken wing..but these wings literally had not a hint of crispiness..and I think I know why. It seemed as if these wings were dredged in flour before being fried..which can work. Most restaurants do it to get Chicken wings Nice and extra crispy...but here's where wings messed things up. They clearly are dredging lots of wings in flour and letting them sit for a long time before throwing them in the frier. HUGE MISTAKE. When you do this it creates the most soggy wimpy wings ever. If you're going to dredge your wings in flour it has to be done right before throwing them in the deep fryer. Otherwise skip the flour! That combined with a buffalo sauce I didn't care for (the red alert) has put me off from wings. I really was craving that traditional hot buffalo wing flavor and it is not found at wings. If there is a upside they do use jumbo wings..but sadly jumbo wings only emphasized the non crispy, soggy wings...also a few of my wings had feathers and at these prices, I expect perfection. read more

We've just moved back to Rochester since living in New England for 8 years and my boyfriend had rave reviews of wing over Providence. We've ordered door dash a few times because we've been unpacking and the tenders have been delicious. The wings on the other hand left us disappointed. They advertise jumbo wings and they are no bigger than other restaurants, but the price is indeed steeper. Today we ordered Togo tenders and picked up our order for the first time since we were out and about. My boyfriend went inside to pick up our order and proceeded to stand in an empty lobby in front of the service counter for 10 minutes without seeing any employees. Once an employee did arrive they have zero customer service. Not a hello, a sorry for the wait, or how can I help you. Just a "order number?" They gave him the order without any goodbye or have a good day. With both us coming from retail and food service backgrounds we are both frustrated and disgusted with this service. "Thank you for calling Wings Over. Can you please hold?" Siiiiiiiiiiiigh. No, I'm not that patient to "please hold". After all, I can only imagine that so many people have the wear with all to wait 30 or more minutes for a response from your phone system, only to find out that the staff isn't picking the phone back up. As a customer who drives in from Buffalo to Rochester restaurants, I like to call up restaurants to make sure that everything is going correctly before I drive all the way out there to dine at the establishment. I do this with other business, too, such as Rita's, Brusters, etc. Which wing sauces are you guys out of? Do you have waffle fries in stock? Are you sold out of blue cheese, Coca Cola? Life stinks. Life always has something going wrong. Thats why we call ahead to make sure all of the gears are turning before driving out to the restaurant. I received a coupon for a free small waffle fry on a previous visit. There werent any restrictions on the coupon requiring a purchase. I wanted to call up to see if the coupon would be accepted, even without a purchase. I received the quote above. The phone system here is the third worst that I have ever experienced. Trust me, WO will not pick back up after that quote. Ritas in Erie PA's phone system ranks second worst. They have a policy where they do not pick up the phone when a customer is beong served at their window. Go to that Ritas sometime and see the never-ending line for yourself. Ikea is the absolute worst. Its a robotic phone service that serves all Ikea stores across the nation...which is broken beyond all belief. Lucky, lucky for me. I was at the Marketplace Mall when I called up. I ended up telling the cashier by phone, "No need to wait. Ill just drive to the restaurant.", with a defeated sigh. I drove to the restaurant, crapshooting my luck, and I actually managed to use the fry coupon without an additional purchase. Lucky, lucky. It would have been an even bigger problem if I was back home in Buffalo, wanting to know the answer to my inquiry. I imagine that this is bound to happen in the future, so Im not counting on too many more lucky, lucky moments from this Wings Over franchise. I come here for their boneless chicken tenders and they have amazing sauces. This is been a staple to me and my friends as long as they've been in Rochester. They did however recently get rid of my favorite flavor sauce on their menu, sweet onion barbecue, and that is the only reason they aren't getting a five star. Their menu is easy to use and most of their combos and meals are named after aircrafts and things to do with planes which is a cool touch hence the name wings over Rochester. It can be a bit pricey especially with delivery fees so I suggest picking up if you can. read more
