Happened to be in the area for a ball game. Decided to try the restaurant to compare the quality of the food truck that we tried at a local fireman's carnival. The local shop was better than the food truck. Service was quick not much going on at the shop when we stopped. Staff were very friendly. She helped me recreate the online only snacker sub. Limited seating inside but there was outside patio dining, as well. It seemed fairly tidy and clean. They are ready for Halloween with a Michael Meyers inflatable by the drive thru.

Very good subs!! I loved the bread and there's endless combinations for you to pick and choose from. A little pricy but the quality is there and (a portion of) the money goes to a good cause.

1st time. Good, but jacked up my order. Hot sauce bar was a plus. No fries a minus. Clean. Update- violent diarrhea post hook and ladder. Only thing I ate all day.

I have been wanting to check this sub place out for awhile and thanks to T-Mobile Tuesday's I finally did this past weekend and so glad I did! I don't really have a favorite sub or deli I like in Rochester or should I say I didn't have a favorite favorite sub place. Now I can definitely say Firehouse Subs is my favorite. The atmosphere inside is awesome. Open, spacious and unique with fire fighting things all over, great place to visit if you have little ones and they even get a hat! Other than the unique decor inside my favorite thing about it is their hot sauce station. They have any and all of the hot sauces you need for a delicious sub packaged and ready to go and they don't care how many you take!!! The staff is super chill and nice :) I got a tuna sub with pickles for the first time ever and it was delicious, definitely eating tuna with pickles every time now! Other than the hot sauce station what I like most is their perfectly toasted bread!!

Salad with grilled chicken and the $$$ pepperjack cheese that cost extra.

Never heard of them but I was in the area and had a deal from grub hub that I decided to use. They have a nice selection of subs. Their salads are limited and they don't offer lettuce wrapped subs. I ordered a med pastrami sub and a grilled chicken on salad. The salad came with mozzarella cheese and it cost me an extra $1.25 to switch to pepperjack. I ordered online and went through the drive thru (bonus for having a drive thru). Then I was told that online or pick up orders usually have to come inside but they made an exception since I was in the drive-thru already. This was not noted anywhere on my order. And really, if I'm ordering ahead, it means I don't want to go inside if I don't have to. The food was good. But, I'm unlikely to make a special trip here. Too many other good sub options in Rochester that offer better salad choices and don't charge extra for different cheese options.

I usually don't review chains but I wanted to try these subs since it's the first Firehouse Subs in Rochester. I also like that they donate proceeds to first responders. I visited around 1pm on a Monday and it was not busy, no one in line in front of me and maybe two cars in the drive thru. The service was friendly but painfully slow. Also, they have a sign on the door clearly stating you will not be served if you aren't wearing a mask; however, all three workers behind the counter had masks on but that were below their nose. It made me a little uncomfortable that they were handling my food without proper mask wearing. When my order was finally ready, they would have forgotten my mac and cheese side had I not asked if it was in the bag. Overall it just seemed like they were not focused on getting orders out efficiently. The food itself was fine. It was what I'd expect from a chain. The turkey, bacon, and ranch sub (I got a medium) was filling and good, but it had a lot of sauce and was messy to eat. The mac and cheese was creamy and tasted good. I hope that they can work out some of their customer service issues. The food is pretty good but I wouldn't hurry back given this experience.

Turkey bacon ranch sub (minus tomato)

Husband took me to an appt out this way and he had been dying to try their subs so we stopped for lunch. I ordered the Turkey Bacon Ranch sub. Now let me preface this by saying I did not have high expectations for this place. Sub chains just make me think of subway (sorry for anyone who enjoys their subs) and in Rochester we have some pretty awesome deli's and sub shops that just are superior, in my opinion of course. My sub was toasted to perfection, the perfect lunch size (I think it was a medium) and had the right amount of toppings versus meat. I really enjoyed my sub, but my husband did not enjoy his and ended up eating one half of my mine. He had the NY Steamer, but disclaimer, he doesn't like corned beef so I have no clue why he ordered it haha! I didn't get a picture of his but he was not impressed, but said he would give it another try again and would definitely choose this place over subway. Overall, you cannot go wrong with a place that donates a portion of their proceeds to first responders. The only thing I dislike about them is purely the location. I hope they make it there, but it's a pain to try and make a left out of the parking lot!

Great subs! Friendly service. Kids enjoy the kids meals, parents like the subs. So glad we have one of these franchises locally now!

But each visit is worse than the next. I really hope they take this review as a much needed pull up. Because it actually pains me to leave a 3 star review for my own country people. It really makes me sad that this place is so overrated. Probably due to their local following, which I completely respect. I do not respect the way the employees run the place. They need to pay attention. Just because a lot of people are no longer shopping big corporations doesn't mean we are going to accept the same treatment from our own community business. It's a shame really, It's a great set up, and they have most of what every Italian needs in their life. Packed into an easily accessible area. The layout is very smart. That what keeps me popping in from time to time to see what has changed. Parking is tricky only because they stay super busy. Which usually is a good thing. But as an Italian, and Rochester outsider, who has lived in many Italian communities, this is the dirtiest community grocery store and deli I've been in. They have a few employees that are lazy and rude, and the good employees are the ones taking up all the slack and working hard. Which seems disrespectful to the staff that works hard. The hot foods are hit or miss. sometimes awesome! depends on what time of day you go, and you want to go early to try and beat the flies. The amount of flies in that place is disgusting. I understand all kitchens will get a few. My family owns a restaurant, so I'm not just talking just as an Italian, but one who has worked in Kitchens themselves. A dirty Kitchen and flies are the worst turnoff. Also, it is a problem they could easily remedy. It is not because they stay so busy, they don't have time to clean. It's certain employees that are holding this place back. They really should clean house. I know my Nonni, would never. On this particular day for this review, my BF wanted to go. I reminded him of how dirty it was last time. Being the loyal local he is, he said, I've just been unlucky. So we went. He ordered the meatball dinner, and it looked hot and delicious. He was definitely looking forward to it. I was 2nd and last person in line to order from the deli. As I was waiting more people started coming in. The line suddenly was more than 10 people deep. That's when I noticed the person in front of me, had not been helped. We all had been standing there for 10 min. Next to me was the hot foods counter. There was a woman and a man, standing there having a casual conversation. The whole line heard it. Nothing to do with work. Meanwhile, there was a young girl there running around like a maniac trying to clean her work station, to help people. I waited a few more minutes, then I noticed someone else behind the sub counter just standing there. I left my BF in my line, and very politely asked the girl if they had any other employees that could help us, and showed her the line. She was smiling and was about to say something, when the woman who had been talking with the gray haired man behind the counter, ran over and interrupted. She had such an attitude. She instantly said, I work that section, and since you got out of line, you have to go to the back of the line. I was shocked and dumfounded! But not having that attitude. I said, excuse me, my BF is in line with me, and please do not speak to me this way. The nice girl piped up, and just said. I understand, what can we get for you? The mean woman who was about my age, with brown hair, then said, ok what do you want? With that NY crazy roll your eyes attitude. I said, "nothing, I do not give money to people who disrespect me or their customers. Now my BF has gotten out of line, and is standing next to me, wanting to know what's going on. The disrespectful woman was still there and growing impatient due to the conversation. Yah, She has no problem making us wait, but when she is waiting on us, suddenly it's a problem. I said right in front of this woman, "I decided not to eat here, because this woman is rude, and I do not trust her, not to mess with my sub, so I'm not ordering. The woman suddenly, became nice, to my BF. Male centered woman on board. My hmmm isn't into that centering BS. She very nicely said. I'm trying to take this ladies order. My BF put his food down on the counter in front of her, and simply said, I do not want my food either then and we walked out. My suggestion would be to clean up the place, retrain employees, and get some authentic Italians in there to help. I didn't take pics of the problem employees, because if the owner wants to know who they are, he can reach out. They do not need to be on blast, for being consistently rude, because this was not the first time, and it's always the same people. They know who they are.
