After passing this spot a bunch of times, we finally decided to give it a try. Was it worth it.. read on.. The staff was friendly and helpful, but it took quite a while to get one sandwich and a small order of fries. This was before noon, and we were the only ones in the shop at the time. When I went to get ice, there was none available and no lids either we had to ask for it. Not a big deal, just a little odd. They did refill the ice and lids right as we were leaving and the lunch rush was starting to come in. The sandwiches are all grilled/steamed, then topped with fresh ingredients. The one we tried was tasty, but honestly, I wouldn't make a special trip back unless I happened to be in the area. Bonus: they do have their own private lot. The end read more

First time at Firehouse. I had a bogo coupon from the save around book. I ordered the medium Thanksgiving sub and a cheese steak sub. We made it a combo with chips and a drink. After coupon it still came to almost $25. For the price I think it was mediocre. Both subs had flavor but didn't have enough meat. The service was fast and friendly. It is clean inside and casual. read more

Happened to be in the area for a ball game. Decided to try the restaurant to compare the quality of the food truck that we tried at a local fireman's carnival. The local shop was better than the food truck. Service was quick not much going on at the shop when we stopped. Staff were very friendly. She helped me recreate the online only snacker sub. Limited seating inside but there was outside patio dining, as well. It seemed fairly tidy and clean. They are ready for Halloween with a Michael Meyers inflatable by the drive thru. read more

Very good subs!! I loved the bread and there's endless combinations for you to pick and choose from. A little pricy but the quality is there and (a portion of) the money goes to a good cause. read more

Firehouse subs does not give there employees breaks at all and when they try an take one get in trouble. The fire people who actually stick up for themselves as well as there crew. the one manager at the henriettia location gives free food out to her family an her sister that works at the ridge rd location curses while cxs are in store and also doesnt pay for there food Jenny the owner rather overlook these insights bc she is trying to sell the business as she wants out as she doesnt have faith in her employees. And the good ones she fires with no notice or anything or valid reason. They pick an choose who to give hrs to while there shift leads barely get 25 a week. This store is going down hill very fast. They already cut hrs bc of how the treat there employees. If your not kissing the owners ass then your not getting anywhere in the company. read more

I have been wanting to check this sub place out for awhile and thanks to T-Mobile Tuesday's I finally did this past weekend and so glad I did! I don't really have a favorite sub or deli I like in Rochester or should I say I didn't have a favorite favorite sub place. Now I can definitely say Firehouse Subs is my favorite. The atmosphere inside is awesome. Open, spacious and unique with fire fighting things all over, great place to visit if you have little ones and they even get a hat! Other than the unique decor inside my favorite thing about it is their hot sauce station. They have any and all of the hot sauces you need for a delicious sub packaged and ready to go and they don't care how many you take!!! The staff is super chill and nice :) I got a tuna sub with pickles for the first time ever and it was delicious, definitely eating tuna with pickles every time now! Other than the hot sauce station what I like most is their perfectly toasted bread!! read more

we were extremely disappointed in the three subs we picked up today we were looking for a sub shop for an upcoming birthday party. these subs were floating in mayonnaise 2 of them should have had none at all we were even asked they were so soggy they were not edible truly disgusting we definitely will not be returning or recommending this sub shop very unhappy read more

Never heard of them but I was in the area and had a deal from grub hub that I decided to use. They have a nice selection of subs. Their salads are limited and they don't offer lettuce wrapped subs. I ordered a med pastrami sub and a grilled chicken on salad. The salad came with mozzarella cheese and it cost me an extra $1.25 to switch to pepperjack. I ordered online and went through the drive thru (bonus for having a drive thru). Then I was told that online or pick up orders usually have to come inside but they made an exception since I was in the drive-thru already. This was not noted anywhere on my order. And really, if I'm ordering ahead, it means I don't want to go inside if I don't have to. The food was good. But, I'm unlikely to make a special trip here. Too many other good sub options in Rochester that offer better salad choices and don't charge extra for different cheese options. read more

I usually don't review chains but I wanted to try these subs since it's the first Firehouse Subs in Rochester. I also like that they donate proceeds to first responders. I visited around 1pm on a Monday and it was not busy, no one in line in front of me and maybe two cars in the drive thru. The service was friendly but painfully slow. Also, they have a sign on the door clearly stating you will not be served if you aren't wearing a mask; however, all three workers behind the counter had masks on but that were below their nose. It made me a little uncomfortable that they were handling my food without proper mask wearing. When my order was finally ready, they would have forgotten my mac and cheese side had I not asked if it was in the bag. Overall it just seemed like they were not focused on getting orders out efficiently. The food itself was fine. It was what I'd expect from a chain. The turkey, bacon, and ranch sub (I got a medium) was filling and good, but it had a lot of sauce and was messy to eat. The mac and cheese was creamy and tasted good. I hope that they can work out some of their customer service issues. The food is pretty good but I wouldn't hurry back given this experience. read more

I first tried Firehouse Subs because of their first responder discount, but now it's still my favorite sub place in town even though I'm no longer a first responder. I typically order the same sandwich when I visit, but I've heard the specials are good. I'm looking forward to trying the second location that just opened in Greece as well. read more

The Mac and cheese is great.,The green salad was good. Ordered 3times due too proximity., Most recently ordered the Thanksgiving sub but was delivered a plain turkey. After that,,after putting my entire order inn, I got a message that there was a problem and the restaurant was closed. Opportunity to give direct feedback, which I did but got no response. read more

My first visit. I ordered online which probably wasn't necessary as the manager said they're pretty quick on walk-ins. Also, you can use the drive thru, but run the risk of a large order ahead of you. So I backed up and went in. My Prime Rib sub was ready on the pick-up shelf. I'd describe it as a premium sub at a reasonable price. It was very tasty, but a little too much mayo. Next time, I'd request light on it as it overpowered the beef. Tomatoes were big and fresh. The pickle was great. I'd return with my learning experiences considered. read more

Husband took me to an appt out this way and he had been dying to try their subs so we stopped for lunch. I ordered the Turkey Bacon Ranch sub. Now let me preface this by saying I did not have high expectations for this place. Sub chains just make me think of subway (sorry for anyone who enjoys their subs) and in Rochester we have some pretty awesome deli's and sub shops that just are superior, in my opinion of course. My sub was toasted to perfection, the perfect lunch size (I think it was a medium) and had the right amount of toppings versus meat. I really enjoyed my sub, but my husband did not enjoy his and ended up eating one half of my mine. He had the NY Steamer, but disclaimer, he doesn't like corned beef so I have no clue why he ordered it haha! I didn't get a picture of his but he was not impressed, but said he would give it another try again and would definitely choose this place over subway. Overall, you cannot go wrong with a place that donates a portion of their proceeds to first responders. The only thing I dislike about them is purely the location. I hope they make it there, but it's a pain to try and make a left out of the parking lot! read more

It's fun to try the a new chain restaurant when it first arrives to town. It's even more fun for a yelper to add the business and leave the first review. I tried the New York Steamer sub and the Mac and cheese side. Both were enjoyable and definitely had comfort food vibes. The sub was big on flavor and was a good value for the cost. The place puts subway to shame. The packaging was also notably quality. The sub is housed in a complimentary sturdy container for safe keeping. I look forward to my next visit. I want to try a few more items before I truly compare fhs to Dibella's or local delis. read more

Great subs! Friendly service. Kids enjoy the kids meals, parents like the subs. So glad we have one of these franchises locally now!

DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE. Terrible service. We ordered two meals for delivery. They screwed up the order and we didn't get what we ordered. I tried to call the driver and they hung up on me without saying a word. (Just answered and hung up.) I tried to submit a complaint online and it made me upload a picture of our missing item (?!), so I uploaded a picture of the items we received and the empty bag. The online form said that it couldn't help me and logged me out and then wouldn't let me log back in. I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager. He said he could write my name on a list and the next time I came in I could get that item. I informed him that we were staying in a hotel across the street, would not be back in this town in a long time, and asked if someone could just run the missing item across the street. (Disability prevents us from going there, which is why we had it delivered in the first place.) He made it clear that he would not. I asked him to refund the amount of the missing item, and he said he could only do that if we came in to the restaurant that night. Very unfriendly, very unprofessional, and very rude. That will be the last time I order from Firehouse Subs. read more

I come down to Rochester every couple of months for family, my family all love subs and have tried every other sub shop in town, so we decide to try here, the owner Jenny, or whatever her name is, Is clearly unable to understand simple things, I had to tell her 3 times for a simple request. And still was screwed up, we ended up waiting nearly 30 minutes for 2 small subs, both of which were severely burnt, the furniture is incredibly out dated, giving like 1930s style, and incredibly uncomfortable, likely from some dollar store, we figured. It might've been an off day, so we try again a few days later before I leave. a different person rings us up, this person is slow, and clearly isn't meant to be behind the register, we got 3 subs this time. And all of them were wrong. And burnt, and e asked for a gluten free one and were given white bread. this place clearly has no respect for food allergies, plus their chips they keep on the shelves, checked and several bags were expired, and the bathrooms? nasty. Plus there's ants everywhere on the floor under tables. If I could give negative stars. I would. This place is terrible. read more

Great place with great subs. Great fireman theme and the steaming creates a great melding of flavors

First time there. The crew was polite, and helpful. The subs were very tasty! I liked the bread as it wasn't too hard. My husband prefers the harder type. Generous amount of meats on the subs. Will be back to try more of their subs soon. read more

I order delivery through DoorDash and they brought my sub to my job right away! I tired the the steak house sub, the meat was delicious, but the whole bottom of my sub was drenched in liquids from maybe my bell peppers and onions idk, I also had a Mac and cheese which was delicious once I got pass the bread crumbs, I can live without the bread crumbs honestly! But I would tried them one more time but only in person read more

I first tried Firehouse subs when I was out of town for work a few years ago. What I really loved was the numerous bottles of barbecue and hot sauces they had available to try. I guess because of Covid that practice is not available. Very disappointing, but understandable. I ordered a medium smokehouse beef and cheddar brisket sub to go. They do have some hot sauces and packets and the soda machine is self serve and you can customize your drink. The staff was friendly as I asked a couple questions. As of this review the place is only been open for about a week. I really hope they do well because it gives us another choice for subs. The sub traveled well and I had my own barbecue sauce at home. So all in all it was fairly good. I'm hoping that if Covid goes away they can bring back their barbecue and hot sauces. read more

Decided to try them out. The sub was good & they use nice quality ham for their sandwiches. Since it's my first time here, I wasn't aware that they toast their bread and the sub is warm. I wish I had known that prior. I was not impressed with their Mac & cheese. Very watery. All in all, I would maybe return for a cold sub at some point.. but I think I'll stick with our local Dibellas for subs read more

Nice new place here and thats where it goes down here from here. Stopped in at 11:45am to order a medium stk sub and it took 25 mins start to finish just to pick uo sub. As i was waiting the guy next to me said he waited 25 mins on a previous stop here. The only reason he came back was a coupon he wanted to use. He ordered next after me so another 25 min wait gor that guy. The sub seemed a bit small for a medium. First bite and half the sub meat slid out!! Flavor was good but didnt hold together at all!! Granted yhey have been open for about 6 weeks but way to much of a wait time....for a SUB!!! read more

I've ordered from here several times. I appreciate they have gluten free rolls available! Subs are always tasty. I always as for no pickle, but they always put one in - sometimes pickle juice gets on sub - yuck, I'm not a fan of pickle juice, and it's a waste of a pickle because it goes straight into trash - my request for no pickle gets mega highlighted on the order paper - don't know how they always miss it. Same with NO bell peppers on my side salad ‍ can they read? ‍ But I like their food. read more

Our family first visited Firehouse when we lived in Florida in the mid 90s. Then, we noticed they built a few in Buffalo so every time we visited Buffalo we picked ourselves up some subs. They are definitely unique, like nothing on the market. are unbelievably flavorful and filling. If I were to end my review now, I'd give the restaurants in Florida & Buffalo 5 stars!! The new Firehouse on West Henrietta Rd in Henrietta just opened and are having serious issues in terms of speed and accuracy in their sub making. We've been there twice in the first two weeks they were open and both times it took over 15 minutes to have a few subs made and both times parts of our order were wrong and had to be re-made. Thee restaurant appears to be more than staffed with employees but there is a lack of confidence, no one is vocal and we did not get a sense that any managers were running the kitchen. In Florida Firehouses you walk in, immediately hear an employee yell "welcome to firehouse", your order is taken and fulfilled quickly. It seems like the Henrietta store is owned and run by someone who has never worked in a restaurant before. There is no sense of urgency or organization. After training employees and being open for a couple weeks, the staff there should be making subs much more quickly and accurately. We'll visit the restaurant again in the coming weeks but may end up visiting the ones in Buffalo unless the Henrietta Firehouse starts improving their service. read more
