Food, service and ambiance are all wonderful. The amount of delicious flavors on a Super Greek makes a wonderful thrill in your mouth at each bite. But here's the other thing, the staff. They are so friendly and accommodating to every single person that walked in. And they are very hard workers. I sat in there for an hour (I'm a very slow eater) and heard, saw and enjoyed the nice atmosphere. It reflected on the customers too. I could tell that most who came in had been there often. And to the lady who owns and/or manages the place, you are amazing. So much respect between you and your staff! read more

A great spot for a quick lunch or dinner! My favorite thing to get here is a gyro pita I love the stuff full of red pepper, hummus, cucumbers, tomatoes, black olives, pickles, tzatziki, and more! I also like to grab a bag of baked chips and a drink from the machine. This is truly the perfect quick spot for lunch as a college student. I don't have a lot of time between classes so I like to come here because even though they're busy, the line always move super quickly, and the food is always hot and delicious. The restaurant itself is always super clean and has lots of places to sit! A new favorite for lunch! read more

Went for lunch with a friend and had a GREAT meal. I tried the pesto chicken wrap "Sue's way." Sue is the owner. She suggested the wrap with mushrooms and mozzarella. It was perfection! The serving size was HUGE! Absolutely great. They have bottle drinks and fountain. It's like a Greek chipotle! It is clean and welcoming! Sue and her staff are so pleasant!! Highly recommend! read more

Great spot to come in and grab some lunch! I love their vegetarian options as someone who can't eat meat. My favorite thing to order is a falafel pita with tomatoes, cucumber, onion, feta, and greek vinaigrette. It's the best! Also, the staff here is really nice and gets the orders out quickly which I appreciate. Overall, a great place to grab something delicious and quick to eat! read more

Pita Pit is always a fun stop when we are on the go. You can customize your pita or bowl any way you like. The ingredients are always fresh and delicious. The staff at this location is always super friendly and helpful. Aside of the great pitas, their brownies are top notch. We don't expect much out of packaged brownies, but these are among the best we've ever had and taste homemade. read more

Great food, great service and fast. Definitely a go to place for food!!! Will recommend to others!!

Returned to this spot after many years and was not impressed! It has a very chain restaurant vibe! And their pita options were limited! I asked for extra tzatziki on the side and never got it! The souvlaki pita was loaded with too much spinach!! And the server at the counter needs some lessons on decent customer service! Even my daughter said she was rude! Wont return anytime soon read more

Clean, friendly and fresh food. The ingredients are exactly what a healthy diet consists of. I ordered the Super Greek w/Chub. I am not Pita or Gyro expert, this Pita makes all Rochester Gyros lame by taste, quality and size. The portion is perfect for Lunch or Dinner. This location has easy parking, and plenty of shops close by. When you are ready for a nutritious meal better than fast food, choose the Pita Pit. read more

Great service. Very good food! I had a falafel wrap with the works, and the sauce/feta was amazing - really brought it all together. Also, the owner cares about the business, the customers, and the community. Happy to eat here any time and definitely recommend! read more

Yummy fresh Pita's! I have ordered from grub hub and been in the restaurant itself. There's not a lot of places to sit, and the tables were all dirty when I came at 1:45pm. I recommend an online order! I got the chicken Caesar small pita, no bacon! No issues with my special order. It was hot and the Caesar dressing was great! The staff was friendly, and I got through the line quickly with no trouble. Definitely will return the next time I have a craving for a pita! read more

Friendly staff. order was done perfect. 20 years since i last had it but was still just as good.

I was pleasantly surprised by Pita Pit. I was shopping in the plaza and saw a Beyond Meat sign on their door. I love Beyond so I decided I had to give it a try. There are so many options! I was excited by how interesting some of the wraps on the menu sounded. My first time here, I got a hummus wrap from the menu because I was feeling pretty basic. I added Beyond Meat crumbles to it; I was offered seasonings for it, but I wasn't feeling adventurous. I added hot sauce to the wrap. They also have falafels which I was considering. I was happy that there were different vegetarian options. The last time I was here, I did a create-your-own wrap and it was awesome! So many great veggies and toppings. Lots of sauce and seasoning options. I can't wait to try something different here! The food was very filling; I've shared a wrap with my husband previously. The interior is clean and more contemporary than I would have figured with their retro logo. It was brightly lit inside during the night. I hadn't been interested in trying out Pita Pit before this because their logo turned me off a bit. The service people were very nice. It's Subway-style ordering and it goes very quick. I recommend giving Pita Pit a shot. read more

Pita Pit is a great spot for when you want something fresh and delicious for lunch besides your usual sandwich. The staff is always so friendly and my pita is always on point. I have been going to pita pit for 20 years now since the first pita pit opened in Rochester NY. It's always been a go to restaurant where I could get food with consistently high quality. However that quality has recently taken a nose dive. While I used to be able to get a whole meal there, and a good one at that, those two things have now become the opposite. In my last visit I paid the same price that I always have to get a small low quality snack that wasn't even an appetizer and left me having to go somewhere else down the road to get a real meal, which is where I will be going instead from now on. I should have known something was up when I asked for red onions and the girl put a little cluster of about 5 or 6 onion pieces on in a little clump in the center. It was as if she was making a meal for a small child. I had ordered mine on a gluten free wrap which wasn't heated properly and started cracking and falling apart as they handled it. They then transferred it to a pita for me, but when I started eating it I found that my meat hadn't been cooked properly and was cold and hard because it was probably still partially frozen in the center. When I complained about this to the manager she blamed the fact that I had ordered it on a gluten free wrap and it had to be transferred, as if in that short moment my meat had went from being hot and cooked to cold and hard as if it was partially frozen in the center...I also told her about the portion size being half of what it used to and she gaslighted me and said it had always been that way, as if I hadn't actually been getting twice the portion size for almost 20 years, which is probably longer than she has actually been alive. It's very sad that this restaurant has gone from being the best fast food restaurant franchise (in fact the only fast food franchise where you can get healthy quality food for a good price), to a fast food cash cow where you can't even get a decent meal because they are now serving child size portions to adults and cannot even be bothered to fully cook the meat, don't know how to properly wrap, and worst of all are skimping heavily on their ingredients even though they don't cost much. The staff here is completely incompetent, even the manager who can't seem to manage the place as she is just a child herself who takes absolutely no responsibility for the restaurant she is managing and when I complained to her she denied my complaints were true and gave me the whole "I don't know what to tell you, it's always been this way", instead of doing what any other restaurant manager would do by taking responsibility for things having been done wrong and offering a solution. This has turned into another big evil fast food cash cow corporation that doesn't actually care about food quality or even its customers where its money is coming from, and management would rather stand by its practices of serving small portions of low quality food for the same price and lose customers, than do the right thing by them. read more

Well this was our first time eating at the Pita Pit and it went like this...First off plenty of free plaza parking and an open floor plan of sorts, nothing fancy...Next comes the food and folks it ain't cheap...The menu is limited enough and sometimes that's a good thing, it usually means fewer choices but better made, well usually...So I ordered a Gyro & chicken wrap and the wife a Gyro pita...So then comes the fixins station where you can pick the toppings, sort of Subway style...The person who made my wrap was like Nancy the new girl and she couldn't have done worse with boxing gloves on...So now onto the taste and in my wrap I found generic Gyro meat and a piece of Slovaki chicken piece the size of my little finger...Plenty of topping and like Subway more filler and much less protein...My wife's pita was much the same although she didn't have chicken on her order...The damage with a $2.00 tip, a small bag of chips and an iced tea was $37.00...Ouchie...Seriously it was just okay and nothing more...As always this was my 2 cents and you should go and make your own decision to how the food is... read more

Ventured over here while making a trip out that way for work errands. Wanted a healthier choice than fast food and decided to stop here. They have many different choices and all seemed fresh too! I ordered the chicken souvlaki pita on a wheat pita, boy was it good! Hefty portion with fresh ingredients stuffed inside. Very satisfying, though it looks BIG I manage to eat the whole thing a bit too easily...? Lol (I've been here twice now and ordered the same thing) read more

Great food and some healthy choices available here. Only downside for me is the way they stuff the pitas. All the vegetables seem to end up on one side, and it's too tall and awkward to attempt to eat by turning it 90 degrees. Just a minor annoyance though. It certainly hasn't stopped me from returning here many times. Id recommend the club or Dagwood. read more

What a terrific little lunch place. There is a large selection of sandwiches, all served in either a whole wheat or regular Pita, 6 inches or 9 inches in size. I found the small fully adequate for lunch. Any pita can also be made into a salad. There is an impressive selection of meats and vegetarian fillings and an almost endless selection of additions consisting of sauces, vegetables, cheeses, and other tasty morsels to customize your sandwich. There is a free flow soda machine, and of course chips and cookies to round out your lunch. I enjoy it here because I can always find healthy options that are fast, affordable, and filling. The owner often is on the premises so things run with efficiency. On premises eating is easy, as there are counters and tables, but a "to go" order is also an option. read more

I've been going to Pita Pits for years and always had good experiences, but last night I ordered delivery from this location and it took 2.5 hours to arrive at my house. When it did finally arrive, the food was cold. Not only that, but my pita barely had anything in it. When I called to complain I was told that the staff was doing their best to fill orders, but the owners of the restaurant refuse to appropriately schedule them and so they are very under staffed. Their delivery driver was still struggling to make deliveries after closing time. I can only assume the owners are trying to save money by short staffing the store and under filling the pitas. I can easily say that I will never go to this location again and you shouldn't either. There is no reason for the owners to disrespect their employees AND customers in this manner. read more

I've been looking for a place where I can get a custom wrap and put whatever I want on it. After trying the pita at Pita Pit, I can probably stop looking. Sure, it's not a wrap, but I daresay it's better. Since pitas have pockets, there's no risk of filling falling out the other end when you bite into it. And if you ask for the whole wheat pita, you get some good fiber too. The staff when I went in were friendly and efficient; no complaints. And the pita (BBQ chicken) was delicious. I can highly recommend the Pita Pit for anyone looking for a customizable, portable meal, especially if one wants something different from the usual submarine sandwiches. read more

Pita Pit is like the Subway of falafel for me. You go in, pick your stuff, get your stuff and go. For the speed, it's pretty tasty! I wouldn't say it's the best falafel in Rochester, but it works. You also get a lot of food stuffed in a pretty huge pita! The price is decent too. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because I wish they offered more authentic toppings, some spicy pickles, tahini, something to make it unique and less chainy. Also, the falafel isn't deep fried, so it's not very crispy.. plus it's all mushed together in the the pita anyway. All in all though, good place to grab a bite, especially if you're short on time. read more

Went to go to Pita Pit at 7:08pm this evening, to find the door was locked but costumers were still inside having food made. Confused as to why it was locked, my daughter, husband and I tried to open the door again, no luck. We double checked the hours listed right next to the door which noted the time of hours were until 8pm today. Thankfully a friendly customer let us in to help us out. Upon entering we were greeted by an employee who noted that she had locked the door an hour early. As I inquired about the hours of business, she let me know that she was closing early due to being behind. She noted that we could stay since we were already inside, but her rude attitude noted different. My family and I decided to leave instead of continue to engage. On our way back to the car, we told 4 other carloads of people that they have locked their doors early due to being behind. We will not be returning to pita pit again. read more

This is a great lunch spot for those in the Henrietta area! It's tucked away in a strip mall and might not stand out as much as the nearby Moe's, Five Guys, or Burger King, but it's a good option if you are looking for a healthier lunch. This place reminds me of Subway, but with pitas: you go down the line and choose what you want, so you have the option to be as healthy or as unhealthy as you want - which I like! I love the chicken caesar pita. I usually get my order to go, but the interior dining room is cute and always clean! Don't overlook this place for lunch! read more

I have been to this location of the Pita Pit countless times and when it comes to fast food this is one of the better options both for taste and healthy options. You can get a delicious pita for a reasonable price that will fill you up without breaking your calorie bank. I have my favorite there (Chicken Crave/Ham and Chicken with extra hummus) and have gotten it for years and still remain satisfied with my purchase every time. Sure there can be a wait sometimes but if you go off hours the service tends to be quick and their products always seem fresh to me. It's not perfect food by any means but it is a go to option when I'm on the go and need something quick. read more

The Pita Pit is about what you would expect for a small quick-serve sandwich place in a strip mall. It's small, dark, and there are a few tables and chairs to eat at. However, the place is clean, the staff are friendly, and tastes better than the Subway a few doors down. The food is decent and healthy, which is hard to find in the Rochester area. My go-to is a simple chicken breast with a wheat pita, which is not exciting, but it is filling and a good value for the money. What I really enjoy about their pitas is that they have a gazillion options for items to put inside the pita, from sauces, to veggies, to cheese. I would give this place four stars, but the last time I ordered a pita, my chicken was lukewarm at best, even after they re-heated my meat before they put it in the pita. Nothing more disappointing than biting into semi-cold chicken :-\ I'll keep coming back for pitas, but will make sure that my meat is warm before I leave. read more

One word: delivery! I have never been to the Pita Pit in person. Why should I? They deliver! Such a great alternative to the pizza and Chinese options in Henrietta. One can order over the telephone, but why bother, when you can do it online, easily? There are many healthy options available: vegetarian, whole wheat, salads -- all with the toppings of your choice. Of course, if you feel like going more hearty, there's some pretty beefy options as well. I have found their food to be fresh and well-seasoned. I enjoy the Chicken Sulvaki pita. Friends have ordered various salads and have found them to be ample and filling. The staff is friendly and informative. The delivery girl is pleasant; always warmly greeting us. I definitely appreciate the food offerings at the Pita Pit and hope they stick around for a long time. read more

When I'm not watching my girlish figure, I like to Pita-patta over to this joint in henrietta. Being that I'm not a huge risk taker with food, I tend to rotate between the chicken and the steak pita. Here's one thing I don't get with the making of the Pita. Why don't they put everything in a bowl and mix it up first? When I order a steak pita with cheese, mayo, mushrooms, peppers and sprouts (the sprouts make me feel like it's healthy, I don't even like them)...I want to bite into my steak pita and get a little of each of those fine ingredients. I don't want a huge bite of lettuce. Put it in a bowl, mix it up, then dump that deliciousness into the pita. Now, I'm no physicist or mathographer, but doesn't that make more sense? Getting all the yummy stuff in every bite? That being said... I've been here a bunch of times. It's a tasty, quick meal. It's more expensive than the usual fast food though. Usually about $10/meal. read more

Since my health concerns has forced me (screaming, I might add) into a low-protein diet, it's been difficult to find food places that serve anything worth eating that doesn't contain a lot of meat. Luckily, Pita Pit is one of the few places that you can get a vegetarian meal that will fill you up. And, they also post all the nutritional info in the store, which makes it very easy for me to do my protein-counting. As far as the location is concerned, it's kinda basic, with just a few crappy chairs and crappy tables, and the DUMBEST mural on the walls. Looks like the sort of place you usually would find near a small liberal arts college in a small midwestern town. Seriously, people, maybe if you LOOKED a bit more professional, you'd get more business. Others have complained about the service, but I've never had an issue with them. The pitas are prepared quickly, without any problems. Right now, the 'regulars' consist of health-conscious hipsters, and the occasional person over 30. Being 50, I find myself a bit out of my element here. read more

I agree with a prior review that Pita Pit should mix up the ingredients because on each pita I can have multiple bites of the same veggie without getting any of my main topping (usually chicken). I visited this location recently after finding my Pita Pit "Special Customer Card" in my wallet. The employee at the register informed me that they no longer accept the card because they have moved to an electronic card system. I had nine stamps on my card which says, "Buy 10 Pitas and the 11th is on The Pit." They told me my card was no longer valid. I think it would be better business if Pita Pit honored the cards until they left circulation or credited prior purchases on the new electronic card. Pita Pit does not do either. I was willing to pay what I thought was a little higher price because the food is fresh and I was getting a deal, but I am not sure I'll go back when they discontinue a promotion for special customers. read more
