We had gotten the hummus , falafel pocket and a burger because during certain moon cycles nothing other than red meat will do. The hummus is one of the best I've had in Rochester. It is literally something I crave. I, myself, had the burger- medium well. It was absolutely delicious. Sorry I ate before my phone.( not sorry) Which came with fries. They were also delicious and unsalted. This was great because it makes the potatoes shine. This burger also had house picked and as someone who does not like pickles on my burger, these were good and added a nice tang. Only downside side , see note, was the bun and fries were a little soggy. Okay a lot soggy. But still good if you can get past that. The falafel from what I understand was "ok". PITA is the closest Mediterranean spot to work (right across from the hospital). The staff is always friendly and the food comes out reliably quick. I am a fan of their wraps. They are generously portioned and well-priced. I also enjoy their plates. I've ordered both the shawarma and mashawi plates numerous times. Their hummus is quite garlicky, but I like it. I think they also offer a 10% UofR discount, but I am not sure if that's still a thing post-Covid. A convenient place to pick-up dinner after work. read more

And they also had a tv with their specials on it. They had an egg and cheese mankeesh special that I decided to get. There were only 2 other people in the restaurant, and they were already eating when I got there. I got a falafel pita pocket and the manakeesh to go. I was there about 7:00. and I didn't realize until after he swiped my credit card that I didn't get the 15% off. I didn't bother to ask about it because I thought it would be a big deal to refund me, but why advertise that and not give it to me? It really irritated me. Actually, it's still irritating me, lol. So, the food took about 15 minutes, and that was fine. I'd never had manakeesh before, but it is basically just a thin crust pizza. The egg part was pretty good, but lots of the crust was burned. If it hadn't been burned, I'm sure I'd have liked it better. I don't know that I'd get one again, but it was big for the price for 1 or 2 people, and we had leftovers for the next day. The pita pocket was ok. I actually liked that there was sauce on most of it. Falafel can be very bland, and having a sauce or something with it gives it some flavor. I had ordered it without turnips, which they did, but there were pickles on it, and that wasn't on the menu. I hate pickles, so I had to dig all of those out. Some bites of it were really good. Some of it was just ok. It was also pretty big though, and I ate the rest the next day. Overall, I wasn't really impressed. If they'd have given me the advertised 15% off, I might have felt more highly about it. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there again, but if I was in the area or a friend wanted to go, I'd try it again. read more

This place hit the spot! Tasty, fast, reasonably priced, good portions, and friendly service. Small place located in the heart of College Town. Limited off street parking shared with a few neighboring businesses. We stopped in for a quick dinner with our one y/o. Order, pay at the desk, and seat yourself type of place. I had the chicken pita with feta...yummm. It was so dang tasty. Very well seasoned. The basmati rice dish was a good portion for the price and the sauces were delicious. It was all so good that even the fruit flies wanted a taste, hence, the four star rating. Pretty good food, cheap, and convenient. I'll admit that I was only here for all of 5 minutes--I was trying to grab a quick bite before work and was in a rush. It wasn't busy when I got there (3:30 on a Monday) and there were only 2 other customers there. The employees were friendly and nice, and my food was done quickly. I got the beef shawarma pita pocket, which was huge and super filling. I got it with "everything," which included lettuce, (tsaziki?) sauce, and what I believe were shredded pickles. The only thing I didn't like were the pickles, but that was totally my fault since I didn't ask what "everything" included. Really enjoyed this place. Went here with a bunch if friends and everyone agreed it was so nice to have a place like this next to the fast food shops. The most unique/real food around the hospital and school. The pita pockets are so big nobody could ever finish it (which is no complaint at all). I love all the feta cheese they put in there and the chicken was cooked fresh and had a lot of flavor. I liked the tatziki sauce has big chunks of cucumber and mint in it but it is a little runny so they should try to thicken that up a bit. The atmosphere on Park Ave in the summer is great but- the food just had me wishing I had stopped into this unassuming little place on Mt Hope . The name says the main attraction- fresh, hot homemade pita. It's delicious! The baba ganoush is perfection and I'm a big fan of their beet salad, which has perfectly candied walnuts on it. Homegirl working your butt off taking orders, bagging orders, grabbing stuff for needy customers, cashing people out: I'm not talking to you. Who didn't prep for lunch on a Friday? Turning away grub hub and Uber eats people for not having what was ordered online, and cutting the menu in half because of mismanagement is sad. The pitas and the food are good here, but the organization is a mess. The woman behind the counter had to ask what was in the to go containers, because they aren't labeled. There's a giant chalkboard menu, but not menus that are easily accessible to grab at the beginning of the line. My order got messed up, and the fries were soggy, but at that point, the wait was long and people needed me to drop off their food. They do a 10% discount for U of R students and staff, but because of the wait and the disorganization, I might make the drive to Cedar instead. read more

So naturally, my eyes were bigger than my stomach and I ordered 5 things off the menu. Yes, 5. First up was the Greek salad (full size), which was simple but a great starter. Finished that off, then moved on to the chicken pita pocket. I had gotten a side of hummus, and I put half of it on my salad, and then the rest of it on my pita pocket. Ate it ALL. I moved out of Rochester a while ago, and this place is one of my most missed. Nearly every time I come to town, I drop in for the pita. Chicken or falafel, either way...so delicious. I crave it. I usually swap out the greek dressing for tahini, but that's just my preference. Friends who get the greek, love the greek. The pita is chock full-stuffed to the brim with fresh lettuce, tomato, feta, chicken (or falafel) and dressing. The pita bread itself is fresh grilled, hot and straight off the burner. I mean, you can't beat it. The guys who run the place are super courteous and really friendly. I've always had great encounters with them. I just popped in the other day. I had promised my girlfriend, I'd bring her back a pita (because now she craves them too). And they hooked me up-they gave me all the fixings for the dish separated out for travel. By the time I got back home (about 1.5 hours away), i just had to heat the chicken and assemble it. She was absolutely delighted. We had a truly excellent meal that consisted of lentil soup, falafel pitas, beet salad, hummus and pita. The lentil soup is a must have on a cold night. The pitas where really much thinker than we were use to having but now I know that is a good thing. Their pitas had more falafels in them when compared to most place we have tried recently. On the way out of the restaurant we watch one of the employees making pitas in the back. Overall the price was very reasonable for the quality and amount of food. We will be back.
