We get the Dave's mini slider meal with french fries and then an order of the Dave's not chicken cauliflower bites. For sides we've only ever tried the mac & cheese, but it was really good and we liked it a lot. We come here a lot for a quick dinner or a quick lunch in between classes and always has the spot. I went to DHC bc I had a great experience the first time I went to this restaurant. I went there last Saturday, after the Corn Hill Arts festival bc I thought it would be a good place to eat & just chill, plus I wanted some chicken. The food was terrible. I ordered the #1 - chicken fillets n fries. This entire entree was trash. Everything was cold n overcooked until its edges were charred. I took the dinner back to the counter n what I received was still cold n hard; and the chicken tasted like cardboard. Nothing was served hot. I don't understand how, if you have 3-4 people cooking, that I still got cold n overcooked food. I won't be going back to any DHC restaurants. Totally a waste of money. read more

I've been a fan of Dave's Hot Chicken for a while now, and unfortunately, my visit to the Rochester location didn't meet the standard I've come to expect from the brand. The chicken didn't appear to be cooked to order -- both tenders I received were warm at best, not hot, which is a telltale sign they had been sitting for a bit. On top of that, the seasoning seemed hastily applied after the fact, rather than fused into the crispy coating as it usually is when done fresh out of the fryer. As someone who typically orders medium spice, I was surprised (and not in a good way) when my second tender tasted like an extra hot. It was nearly unpalatable and felt like a clear miss on quality control. Overall, it just didn't feel like the same care and consistency I've come to appreciate from Dave's. We were curious after passing by this restaurant several times. The food is good overall. I ordered fried cauliflower and the rest of the family ordered the chicken. In total we spent around $80-$90 between meals and drinks. The portions are huge and in many instances can possibly be shared. The slider, much to my surprise, was enough for a meal. The star of the show was the kale salad. It was fantastic. We also ordered shakes. They were not good and pricey for the quality. I am usually a medium salsa kind of girl and find the medium heat level perfect, hot is a little spicy for me, but you will have to try them out for yourself. Fries are basic crinkle cut, but I enjoy the seasoning and the crisp holds up. Tenders are $5 each, but decent sized. quite filling. 2 tender and fries combo without drink is $12.99. They offer slushes, milkshakes, and sliders that are a tender on roll with kale slaw. Their pickles are awesome and come with the combos (dill chip style). Chicken had the crisp and juiciness of Raising Cane's and the flavor of the best Nashville Hot. The slaw was icing on the cake! Pickles crunchy and moist. Mac and cheese was tender and saucy. I can't talk about the ambiance because I didn't pick up the food and we ate at home. We have only heard a little bit about the food so we went into it with no preconceived ideas!! Since we didn't know how hot is hot we went with 1 medium, 1 mild, 1 light mild, 1 no seasoning (which wasn't a favorite but still good tasting chicken) my family and I absolutely loved the chicken sandwiches! The spice is like a rub giving you flavor throughout the whole sandwich! The Dave's sauce is just a slightly different sauce than others making it a pleasant accompaniment to the chicken. My sandwich has the kale slaw on it and it remained crunchy and flavorful withstanding the 30 min drive home.
