    Adana Kebab

When we planned to visit Rochester, I asked a local friend in NJ to get some recommendations for 'interesting' food. He recommended As Evi. Being a bit new to Turkish cuisine, I looked up the dishes and wanted to get Adana Kebab. The Kebab was wonderful. The rice that came with it went well. And, Lebni, which went well. I meant to order Yogurtlu Adana, which sounded very unique. The friendly person at the counter, when asked, said it will be great, but take some time. As they prepare every dish. This time, with a bit of a rush, I went with Adana Kebab. Kept the Yogurtlu for next time. Nice decor as well.

A real hidden gem in a crusty plaza. I'm so glad I tried As Evi. My husband and I ordered the potato pide, the mushroom pide, hummus (which came with delicious flatbread for dipping), and Turkish hot tea. The pides (pronounced pitas) are similar to pizzas or calzones, big and filling with lots of fresh veggies - peppers, tomatoes, onions. I generally don't even like peppers, but the flavors really worked. Service with a smile and all of the food is made fresh to order. There is calm instrumental music playing and a relaxing vibe, families dining in and people picking up to go orders. We ordered baklava and rice pudding to take home and they were great. I don't know much about Turkish cuisine but I will be coming here again to try other things!

If I could give 10 out of 10 I would! Out of this world, food and fabulous service. They are working on a second location in Henrietta I can't wait! We asked our waiter for a recommendation on best dishes, and we were not disappointed. The Beyti kebab was unlike anything I've ever had before and the flavors packed into the ultra thin lahmacun blew us away! The booths are huge, so grab a big group of friends and go enjoy a fantastic meal

As Evi had an amazing selection of Turkish food that you can't get at a typical kebab place! I thoroughly enjoyed everything that I ordered there and would order everything again! Here's what we ordered: 1. Baba ganoush- could have been thicker and more smoky but still delicious! 2. Coban salatsi - refreshing salad that I couldn't get enough of! I could probably have eaten the whole plate of salad by myself. The vinaigrette was amazing! 3. Manti- dumplings were filled with meat and covered in a yogurt sauce. Really good but I wish the yogurt was on the side because it made the dumplings pretty cold 4. Pide - I loved how cheesy this was! The egg on top was also great, because you could dip the bread in the yolk! 5. Chicken with yogurt dish - the chicken was well marinaded and cooked and the yogurt was nice and tangy! I've never had this dish before and would get it again 6. Beef in dough with a red sauce- my favorite dish! The beef and sauce were so flavorful and I've never had anything like this Definitely come back here, the waiters were so friendly and the food tasted amazing!!

AMAZING! We heard about this restaurant and made an impromptu decision to check it out. My son and I know absolutely nothing about Turkish food and as stated it was absolutely amazing. I will definitely be going back here again soon with friends and family.

Really enjoyed all the dishes we ordered. Hummus, baba ganoush, grape leaf, loved the bread and we order bread as it was so good. Then the entrees came and they were amazing. Can't remember the names. Favorites were the stuffed bread with the yogurt in the middle, the pide, and the grilled meat entrees were great too. We had such a great time that we decided to order tea and dessert. The bill came and it was really affordable. Definitely coming back again.

Located in a strip mall, this is a very authentic Turkish restaurant that is a gem. Came here on a weekday evening with a small group and snagged a booth. Unassuming restaurant and we had to wait for a specific waitress since unfortunately none of us could speak Turkish. We tried lamb chops, iskender kebab, and karisik pide. The lamb chops were beautifully cooked (though a bit pricey; 4 pieces for over $25) and my favorite entree. The iskender kebab was alright, though a bit heavy for me personally (oily meat on top of bread). The karisik pide reminded me of the equivalent of a Turkish pizza. Everything was very authentic and tasty and if you're looking for Turkish food, I think this is a good choice!

As Evi is a hidden gem! It was pretty empty when we went in for dinner around 8pm on a Saturday, but several families trickled in to eat in the time that we were there. The waiter was attentive and kind, and he even let us order half hummus and half babaganush, which they usually don't allow! We also ordered the mixed platter, one piece of lahmacun, manti, and a small akdeniz salatasi salad. My favorites were the mixed platter, which had such flavorful meats and veggies, and the hummus and babaganush dips with pita. The pita was soo good and fluffy that we ordered a second round of it! The manti was good as well, especially if you like yogurt as a sauce. The salad was a little heavy on the cheese for me, but otherwise tasted very refreshing. Everything we ordered was honestly so delicious! We also got Turkish coffee to end the meal, and it came with a small yummy dessert covered in powdered sugar that went well with the coffee. Overall, super solid meal and would definitely love to come back!

    Beyti kabob and Iskandar kabob

I have a lot to write about As Evi. Some good and some not so good. We went there on a Tuesday evening before 6. No body was there but very very soon three other tables got filled up. A young man who was clearly a fine student but not a professional or experienced waiter helped us. He began by listing what they didn't have that night and what they can substitute - not a good start! I ordered three dishes for the three of us to share: Beyti kabob, Iskandar kabob and Lamb Chops, as well as a side of yogurt with cucumbers and garlic. It took what felt like lifetime for the food to come ... and by lifetime I mean more than an hour! I could see two people working back in the kitchen. Soon a lady joined them. Beyti kabob was pretty good. It was meat wrapped in bread with tomato sauce arranged like a circle on a hot dish. In the middle of the circle, they put plain yogurt. Iskandar kabob was similar with a bed of bread and meat on top and plenty of tomato sauce over the whole thing and with plain yogurt on its side. They were similar in ingredients and taste but also somehow different. Lamb Chops were kind of tough. It came with four lamb chops over a bed of rice and with salad on the the side. More expensive and least in quality and taste. In general, the food was okay especially Beyti kabob but I would say over priced. Portions were good. Service and serving time needs a lot of help. The young waiter left and the owner took over. A very nice man who works very hard. Clearly, they were making everything fresh in the kitchen including the bread. But with only four tables and ten customers sitting at those tables, they cannot take more than one hour to bring the food to the tables. Somehow they need to improve their process. One of the dishes they didn't have on a Tuesday evening was their Döner Kabob, which is a favorite in Turkish cuisine. Apparently, they serve that only on weekends, which is unfortunate. Ambiance was simple Summary: some good food, fresh, over priced and long wait. Help needed!

Considering this is the first time I have had Turkish cuisine I don't have anything to compare to. But I do know that the food was fantastic. The service was awesome and I want to come back already, even though I'm so full. Yum is casual. It has like family owned restaurant/small bakery feel. I did not get any of the bakery treats, but they looked amazing. I've told they're all made from scratch. The food itself was fantastic. We ordered the Lahmacun as an appetizer. I could've eaten just that and been satisfied. It was like a flap bread with ground meat seasoning on it that you roll up and eat. It was delicious highly recommend. I ordered Ezo Gelin or lentil soup if you will. Lots of flavors, not spicy at all, and it comes with this amazing bread to dip into it. And for the entrée, which at this point I really didn't need to eat because I was so full Beyti Kebab. It was this ground beef seasoned kebab, wrapped in thin dough that had some sort of tomato sauce on it and yogurt in the middle of the whole thing to dip in. I could not stop eating it no matter how full I got. All in all this was an amazing dining experience that I've never had as I've never tried Turkish cuisine before. I will come back to this location again and recommend it to you if you've never tried Turkish food here's a good place to start.

Located on West Henrietta near the mattress store, it is part of the movement of middle eastern eats that have increased in presence in Henrietta recently including Layali coffee house down the street. Highly recommend. Mom/pop store kind of feel, very casual, and unassuming. it's definitely on the end of hole in the wall, no frills. Greatest hits to order here: chicken kabob (best in my opinion of all their meats), the baba ghanoush is a good one, pair with a turkish tea, and must pistachio/nut type of dessert from their giant counter of bakes. Meats: get the giant platter of a little bit of everything. That will feed 2 people for sure. Must get that baba ghanoush. This place advertises their Pide which is a pizza but I found these options pretty heavy on dough and oil, which is not my thing but may be good for the pizza/dough lover. Drinks: must get that turkish red tea. Its basically just good red hot tea served in a glass delicate looking cup that makes you feel like you're in some Arabian Nights royal. Dessert- I've tried almost all the baklava and nut bakes by now. Did not like the pistachio cake. Couldn't tell if it was stale or if that was how it's supposed to be Service each time is warm with the servers not being overly chatty, loud, or hovering. If anything especially at dinner, the servers look quite tired as it's usually only 1-2 people and the place is super crowded. Last order of the night is 8 pm. The food comes relatively fast actually.

Met two of my girlfriends there for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was and the staff were so welcoming and kind. Parking lot has limited spaces and it can be tight getting in and out of- but well worth the effort! We started with the hummus and pita bread- the pitas (2) are huge and come out fluffy and pipping hot!! They are delicious. I love hummus so maybe I'm just picky, but I thought it was pretty flavorous. Drinks are limited and if you are trying to watch your sugar intake your best bet will be with only bottled water (unfortunately). My one friend ordered a hot tea ($3) and was thinking it might be a specialty drink but she was given only hot water and a tea packet. For lunch: One friend bought the falafels and said they were good. My other friend got a small Mediterranean salad with chicken and she ate the whole thing (small salad was a great size). I also bought the small Mediterranean salad but I had them take off both types of peppers and onions- I also had them add extra feta and added chicken and the ground beef kabobs as well. The dressing was lite and just the right amount, the chicken was tender and delicious! I probably would skip on the beef next time (and I'm a fan of beef). Overall, great lunch and would highly recommend giving it a try for a casual lunch while you are out and about.
