This is the sub I miss when I'm not in Rochester. Some places do just a sub..quick...cheap...bad bread... DiBella's is a cut above everyone. The place inside is spotless. Sub variety is excellent. Bread is baking as you go in the door! I decided on the 7 inch roast beef on an everything roll. The bread is fresh and toasted, close to a hard roll you get kielbasa on. Pepper jack cheese, mayo, lettuce, onions, banana peppers, pickle chips, black olives and cukes. Fresh is the name of the game with toppings. Cut in half, and I decide on Miss Vickie's Original Chips. No soda, just water for me. I grab a seat and fill the water glass. The sandwich is tip top as expected. Realize the 7 inch will fill you up. Anything bigger bring the appetite. or share with a buddy. Or Bring another person and swap halves. Dibellas was a new experience for my family as we don't have this chain in central PA. We were visiting with a hockey team so we needed a quick option that wasn't your traditional fast food. The restaurant had unique feel and reminded me of a NYC subway tunnel with it's tile work. I liked the interior and the booths. They weren't too busy and they took a while to push out our orders (+10 minutes) but we had a large party. There's plenty of choices from hot to cold subs. They promote their freshed baked bread, with several options, and I thought it was delicious. Subs come fairly packed with meats and other accompaniments. Our party ordered a variety of 10" subs and I got the "godfather", which was an italian. Pricing for a 10", with chips and a drink, is around $15/ea. I feel this is a little high but the quality is much better than some other chains. We also grabbed a few cookies which were in-house baked and delicious. I checked Yelp and saw DiBella's Subs and near a gas station to fuel up my rental car before dropping it off tomorrow. DiBella's could do themselves better by including "Subs" on their outdoor signage. You can see it from the road and do not know what DiBella's is. They probably do good business now, but why stop there? DiBella's is large and probably holds 100 people seated. It is clean and the staff is friendly. They make each sub to order with their own fresh bread. There is plenty of parking too. I chose the Italian sub for my meal. It was good. You choose your toppings and I added a wide selection of vegetables, making me feel a little healthier. It also adds moisture, meaning less oil and vinegar needed. I can't remember a restaurant order-delivery experience that was this bad. I ordered and paid for the order 24 hours before it had to be delivered the next day at noon so it was not a rush and there was plenty of time to resolve any delivery "issues" although our location couldn't have been easier for even the most clueless driver. I kept getting confusing text message updates regarding our delivery status and finally after I received a message that doordash had cancelled the delivery, I called the restaurant. I spoke with someone named Christy who said she was a manager. Really? She sounded more like a manager in training who was definitely not ready to deal with customers. Our order was by this time almost half an hour late at first she wasnt able to find the order. She was condescending and made it sound like she was doing me a favor by resolving my problem with the delivery! Unbelievable. She eventually told me that the doordash driver whose name was Corey had apparently stolen our order. She also said this happens all the time but our credit card would be refunded--oh, but that takes at least 5 business days and the only resolution would be to place a new order and recharge our credit card. What a hassle. 45 minutes of our time wasted on a lunch order for volunteers, and then we had to cancel because the volunteers had finished the work they came to do and had to leave--all because a restaurant wasn't able to complete a simple delivery order. Also if third party services like doordash are known to "steal" customer orders, why even offer delivery? Finally, don't blame the customer for YOUR business's lack of problem solving acumen. We will never order from DiBella's from ANY location again. The brand has been irreparably tarnished because of this experience. read more

I came in for the first time for lunch with my family. I was surprised by how spacious the inside was. I ordered an Italian assorted 5" sub which is, Genoa salami and capicola. I added pickles, tomatoes, onions, black olives, and mayo. I also got a cup of baked potato soup, which came with a side of garlic bread. The service here was super fast which we appreciated during a busy lunch hour. I was surprised by how delicious these subs were! They held up well to Wegman's subs, which are my favorite. I also really liked the soup. It had a milder cheese flavor than other baked potato soups I have had, which I actually enjoyed. I came for a quick lunch while working near the area. I remember some years ago coming here with a bunch of fellow conference attendants for after meeting meal. It was very good. I returned two days ago and yes, there was a number of people working behind the counter in what seemed large take out orders. None of them looked up at me. I haven't had a sub from DiBella's in a longggg time (I usually go to Wegmans) but the sub I got really hit the spot. Little different of a process as you grab a number and then the person behind the counter fills out the order form for you. Once your done with that, you tell the cashier what you got and then wait at the end for your number to be called. I feel like the bread and Turkey were just so much better than wegmans. Amazing salads! Always super fresh and crisp spring mix and Romaine! You can make any small sub a salad! I always get the buffalo chicken on spring with just cheddar and extra ranch. It's phenomenal. I'm only giving them 3 stars because even though they charge you extra ranch you don't always get much if any. I ALWAYS have to double check and 9 times out of 10 have to ask for a packet. Went to The City Gate DiBellas 4/16/22 just before 1pm (near Costco in Henrietta). We went in to split a quick sub for lunch. Walked in to find 5-6 people behind the counter counter (none of them greeted us). We were the only two people in the place. While we stood at the counter patiently waiting for a good five minutes, two employees (guy and a girl) behind the counter started arguing about who was going to wait on us. It was awkward to say the least, but finally the guy took our order, then we shuffled down to the cashier. Much to our amazement, again nobody made eye contact with us, or even tried to cash us out. After a while, a lady came out of the back and asked us if we were waiting to check out. We were dumbfounded. She asked us what we ordered, and took our money. Our food was still NOT READY. We then went over to get our fountain drinks which were not working properly. There was way too much syrup, and not enough carbonation. All of the sodas were flat, and the lemonade came out like pure water. We ended up paying for soda and drinking water, while we sat and waited another 15-20 minutes for our sub. In that time that we waited, we watched several people come in get their food and leave, saw that half the tables were dirty, and the floors were a mess. One of us went up to the counter to ask what the hold up was for our sub. The same woman who cashed us out stated that they gave it to someone else and then offered us his. We had a custom order of half mayonnaise, and half mustard so this was completely unacceptable, even if they were the same subs. She offered little to no apology as we told her we just wanted our money back and asked for a manager. She replied "I am the manager, but I wasn't even out here". My receipt says "AMY J" (Was she really the manager.... I sure hope not). Either way, we were not at all amused or impressed. Our refund was given at 1:18pm (copy of receipt added-see picture). Got the roast beef and toppings on grilled everything bread, and warmed it up when I got back. The roast beef was WAY over cooked and the whole sub was dry and tough to eat. There were barely any onions, and really, not enough roast beef to fill the sandwich. I couldn't even find the provolone. Went in to pick up my order the young girl who waited on me seemed like she didn't want to be bothered told her twice I was to pick up my order. Repeated my name twice to her another girl who was behind her yelled at me and said she asked your name . I said I told her. They left went in the back room then I think may have been a manager came out after a few minutes put the tray down . Tried to explain what was going on he then said whatever! What happened to this place? I asked for a custom sub (as advertised) and they said no, we can't do that. All I wanted was some salami on a ham sub--too difficult I guess. When I got the sub home, it had mayo AND oil which I did not ask for. I asked for light oil only--it was a soggy mess and I threw it out. I would recommend Jersey Mike's--so far, it's been gr8! And you can actually see the sub being made with what you actually asked for, not what they feel like putting on it. To my disappointment, the customer service cashier talked too fast, mumbled and questioned with attitude. The worst is that she got the build your own sandwich wrong. What's the point of asking and getting the entire order wrong. A advice to management you should just install self service kiosk system if you want to sustain your business. DiBella's is one of my favorite sub spots! This is a new location open in the CityGate shopping center, next to Costco. While it's hard to beat $1.50 hot dog or pizza combos at Costco, this is a nice addition. The location is large and there is plenty of parking. They have a large menu but it can get pricey for subs! But a medium or large sub is enough to share. If you're already at Costco, get their .59 drink on the way out and then get your sub. read more
