Pros: first time to a CF, always heard it was amazing. Never been out of political beliefs. Then my wife's brother said he and his husband go all the time. Club sandwich was obviously made to order. Salad was good, odd it had fried fricken but whatever. Cons: always heard chicken was amazing, it was fine but far from amazing. Chic on my sandwich was a little fatty and plumped with saline. Food is good of course but I ordered a strawberry lemonade and the staff (inside) did not know what I was talking about! I order it all the time at the Oceanside location so I was so confused and disappointed. I drove all the way from Oceanside to Encinitas (Oceanside temp closed) just to get my spicy chicken deluxe fries and strawberry lemonade! The cashier told me they only had regular lemonade and they never had strawberry lemonade. Wtf? Then I talked with a manager and she basically said the same thing as if it was seasonal or they were out of ingredients. However, I know they had strawberry milkshakes available and lemonades available and those are basically the ingredients! So then I got an idea to go through the drive through because one of the 20 workers there should know what this is! My strategy worked, the girl outside who took my order was actually from the Oceanside location and totally knew what I was talking about! No question. So I decided to take advantage of this cool marketing campaign where they give a little snack for free if you cone in free on weds. The idea putting my marketing pro hat on is that if you haven't come in before you might and if you do you will. And greater than 70% of the time you will buy more than you got for free. So the cost to Chick-fil-A is minimal and they get more biz. Aka Marketing 101. So here's the problem. I am a late GenXer but am keenly up to date and understand the use of social media to further boost these types of campaign tactics. Also works the other way sometimes. So when the what i believe to be a manager of millenial age on staff and the person most customer facing at the cash register refuse to get in on the fun so i can post and boost them. "We don't like to be on social". I immediately take my free ChicknMinis and bail to complete my meal at the local starbucks. Thank goodness for one superstar employee who was in the back who gets it. My boyfriend was double-charged for our food. We told the guy working the drive-thru window that we had already paid with the girl who had taken our order on a tablet at the entrance to the drive-thru. We even showed him the bank app with the transaction & time stamp to prove ourselves. The guy insisted it did not go through & that the transaction we showed him would disappear before going through because he made sure the charge was cancelled. My boyfriend hesitantly gave him his card & sure enough, he was double-charged. The payment for both times we were charged came out of his bank account & we had to come back not once, but twice afterwards to receive our refund. (We went back a few days after the incident occurred & the man that we spoke to said they could not refund us yet & to come back later - so we did.) We would come pretty frequently to this specific location because my boyfriend had worked there a couple of years prior to this, but now we will never be back due to our experience. So if you're looking for something tasty yet you don't want to break the bank in the health department, the deluxe chicken sandwich is the way to go. "Clean fast food, drive thru eating" is what I like to call it (makes me feel better about pulling up to a window and grabbing food). The drive thru staff is friendly and smiling the whole time. Came in at around 9:14 and orders a nugget meal and was told to park and wait because they had to make the fries and since it was so early in the morning it was no problem I understand. But I ended up waiting 20 minutes before someone came out and asked what I was waiting for and told me they forgot my order so I just asked for a refund and won't be returning. Which is a shame because I work 5 minutes away and this chain is convenient for me but waisted by entire break and got no food and ended up being late to work and didn't get to eat. The food was very good (and I do recommend the Cobb salad with the avocado lime dressing for something a little different) but there were dirty tables everywhere and none of them were cleaned during our 30 minute visit. I also didn't find the service as genuinely friendly as at other CFA locations. The San Marcos location is especially friendly. I visited Chick-fil-A last week to quickly grab dinner for the two kids that I was babysitting. It was raining so I decided to stay dry and go through the drive-thru. That plan almost worked. While the pick-up window is covered, the order box is uncovered and by the time I finished ordering, the inside of my car was quite wet. I know it doesn't rain often in San Diego but for occasions like this, it would be nice to have something to keep the rain from flooding my car while ordering. But on the plus side, the worker at the drive-thru window noticed my pug poking her head into the front seat and asked if she would like a treat. Treat just happens to be my pug's favorite word and she happily accepted the biscuit. Any place that offers my pup treats automatically scores points in my book! Every time we stop by chic-fil-a, we order food, usually 2 meals and on que, they always mess up, add pickles, wrong drinks, no fries, no receipt. It's an on going issue, I don't blame the workers because every time we go we see someone different, I blame management. I remember one time getting off of school, ordering, the teller told me to wait (because it was a special bourbon sandwich, one time deal), I waited patiently for an hour for my food where they told me to park.
