I saw some birds outside and decided to stop by Chick-fil-A because it was the closest to feed the birds. Well I help a bit awkward ordering this but the worker was lovely! She greeted me with a smile, asked me if I was using their mobile app, called me by my name, and when I told her it was for the birds she was genuinely interested. I stopped by here on a Tuesday morning around 10am while on the way to a walking tour. I placed my order for 2 chicken biscuits via app prior to arriving. It didn't seem too busy and looked like they were short staffed. This was my first time seeing a CFA use a conveyor belt to have ordered come to the front. I assume the kitchen is in the back or somewhere else, like upstairs, out of sight. They have a monitor that tells you orders in progress and orders that are ready. When it says ready, that doesn't mean that it's at the front ready to given. I came to realize that it may mean that the kitchen finished preparing it. You should expect a few more minutes to receive it. It took longer than expected to receive my food after placing the order. I love CFA and go there often back in NC where I live, as I was visiting on vacation. The sandwiches were smaller than I'm used to and the biscuit wasn't as soft. It was fresh and tasty, nonetheless. They have an upstairs for indoor dining, which I didn't go to as I didn't have the time. This was an interesting CFA experience; definitely different than NC. read more

This is without a doubt the nicest chick-fil-a location I've ever visited. They have 2 levels. First level is for ordering and pickup and the second level has plenty of seating. I was really impressed they actually have a small play area for kids that's sectioned off. There are window seats facing Michigan Avenue so you get to eat with a view. The entire upstairs space was very clean when I visited. Upstairs is easily accessible by the elevator or stairs. They have a bathroom with a code that comes on your receipt. Prices here are higher than at other locations. No surprise here but food is still what you'd expect from any of their stores. I would recommend ordering ahead on the app and picking up at the counter. read more

Stopped by this Chick-fil-A for a quick bite to eat on a Saturday morning since I was just staying right across the street at the intercontinental hotel. This was a unique looking Chick-fil-A unlike others I had seen before. It is two stories where the first story is where you get in line to order and wait for your food/do pick ups. The top floor is where all the seating for dine in is located. The kitchen area had a cool system that moved food from upstairs kitchen to the downstairs kitchen which was really cool and a nice idea. There was a small line when I got there, but it moved quickly. Overall, it was maybe a little cleaner than you'd expect a city fast food shop to be, but not nearly as clear as their more suburban sites I've been to. The servers were all super friendly and helpful. I came just in time for breakfast so I got myself a 4 count of Chick-n-Mini's and hashbrowns. They were both really good and had no complaints. This was my first time at this location and wow it's night and day comparison with the one on state and lake . It's so much more secluded and spacious minus all the chaos you usually expect. Order came out super quick and staff were really friendly. Chicken sandwich was great and fries were super fresh. I actually ordered an iced tea I wasn't the biggest fan of and they switched my drink for me and refunded me for the inconvenience. Chick-fil-A is in an great spot if you're walking on Michigan Ave. It's a little tricky as the entrance is on the side. It has 2 floors but you start by ordering on the 1st floor and taking your order up to the 2nd floor dining area. Ordering is the usual way and they are pretty quick. The dining room upstairs is comfortable and huge! Even when it's busy, I'm sure you'll find a place very easily to sit with however many people you go with. Food was served hot, fresh and they even gave me more tenders in my box! Nice bonus surprise. My favorite sauces are the Sriracha, Honey mustard and of course their own sauce is always tasty! Stopped by this location for lunch and this place was a madhouse. The lobby area is very small and it was super crammed at the pickup area. The line to order was also very long. There is like 5 flights of stairs you have to take up to the dining room floor and on this hot sunny day we did not have the energy to go up them. We passed on the stairs and waited for the elevator which took forever.. its the slowest moving elevator ever. Once upstairs we luckily found an open table right away and we cleaned it up. Our meal was good and nothing was missing. They were definitely not stingy with their sauces here as they gave us like six of each flavor when we had only asked for two. Have you ever been to a business that wants to make you as the customer painfully aware of how expensive their rent is by nickel and diming everything they can? This Chick Fil A fits that bill. I like Chick Fila and find their food a little pricey and expect in the city to be a little more. Some of the things you will find here is a lack of a kid's menu because those I guess would be considered a "discount" menu item. When you ask for a "bunch of chick-fil-a sauce" the translation of that is 1 per person, and don't worry about those sub freezing temps outside make you worry about a warm drink because you'll get plenty of ice in your drink. I get that the city is expensive, but if this had been my very first experience with your corporation's food I may never have eaten at another one. Food for thought as it may be. read more

I've been craving for Chick-Fli-A for awhile so I thought I'd check this new location out. Basically, it was a carry out order so I was not able to check out this location. Stepped into the restaurant around 1:30pm and there was only one customer ahead of me to place an order. Within a minute or two, Mark, called me over to place my order. The menu board are hanging from the ceiling above the cashier, so you should know what to order. Mark was friendly and took the order (Meal -Nugget) quickly. It was really hard to social distance yourself from anyone who was waiting for the to-go orders.... seems like there was a back up but once that was caught up, the to-go orders were rapidly given to the customers. Took the order back to work and enjoyed the meal. I would this fast food restaurant and will return. I tried to use the app, but it was not working. However, I noticed they will apply the points via app if given information off of the receipt. Couple days later, the points were there. Great job. read more

To think I was going to enjoy a quick and simple order of French fries to my astonishment of the pure delay and lack of speed this location has left me with pure disappointment and disgust. If I could recommend any other location I would as this one has fallen to the bottom. Chick-fil-A is, of course, always delicious, but as with any other chain experiences can vary. Well, this one is terrific. It's set up to be able to handle large crowds and long lines. It's extraordinarily clean, and the lady that rang us up at the register was incredibly helpful. She did a great job of (as they say in the biz) recognizing customer cues. She asked if I needed things I didn't even know I needed (I so wish I had gotten her name). I definitely recommend this place. Very accommodating, beautiful outdoor seating, and the upstairs dining area is very spacious. This trip was MY pleasure. DISGUSTING UNCOOKED FOOD!!!! After a long day at work, I felt way too tired to cook for my family. So I stopped at the new CFA on Michigan Avenue since I've never been able to try it as they've just opened last august . I waited an absurd amount of time for just two meals, I never even got my drinks or was asked for my sauces until my food was ready. But when I finally get my food handed to me(BY SOMEONE WHO IS NOT WEARING GLOVES), I left the doors and continued home. I arrived and ready to eat with my son, but as soon as I take a bite out of my food I was left in disgust and completely horrified by what I saw!!!! A RAW UNCOOKED NUGGET!!! I was immediately thrown into a gagging fit and tried calling numerous times and was left with no answer. This is where the Purple Pig used to be at. This and the Chicago Ave. location are the same operator's. This had two floors with an elevator. This also has a children's room. This is bigger than the Chicago Ave. location but a tad smaller than the Millennium Park one. All the seating is on the second floor. The service and staff were great! An average of four stars? You people are nuts. The food is grossly overpriced to begin with even though the chicken tastes great, and the fries are good. But their version of a chicken sandwich vs what every other place's versions of chicken sandwiches are leaves a lot to be desired. I had to yell--SCREAM--at an employee and risk being "that guy" on a YouTube video having a freak-out after they gave me the most underwhelming chicken sandwich ever. A smallish piece of chicken and two sliced pickles on a bun larger than the fillet. After complaining, "Becky" wouldn't do the nice thing and simply add a piece of lettuce or a slice of tomato. Nope. Not without charging me $1.25 per extra. She said I should've gotten the "Deluxe" sandwich. Would it have killed "Becky" to get a friggin' piece of lettuce and a tomato slice? No. But after 2-3 minutes of me ranting how I just spent $55 on three meals for friends dining with me, "Becky" relented and gave me a Deluxe...without the cheese.
