Mark Lebowitz is a caring and intuitive IT tech…read more I was starting to panic after 2 weeks of no wifi in my home. Comcast had run new cable from the pole but when the problem continued, it became my fault, not theirs. I scrambled to find an independent IT contractor and after a few failed attempts, called Lebowitz IT Services. He ran a "ping test" diagnosis on my modem (which I lease from Comcast) and while the signal was strong, there were inconsistencies that could have been enough to interrupt my service. I then insisted Comcast send another tech and sure enough, that was the problem. They actually had to "dumb-down" my modem to an older model that was more tolerant of the inconstancies. I can certainly recommend Mark for any home business IT work.

These guys saved me a couple hundred bucks!…read more My laptop wouldn't reliably charge and I was 99% certain the problem was with the charger port and not the charger. I was prepared to face expensive repairs or even buy a new laptop. I brought it in and they ascertained that the problem was the charger, and that the computer was in fine shape, and they located the right replacement and charged me only $25! Now, the charger l had been using was not the original one. I had bought it at Best Buy, after doing research online and making certain that it was the right one. Turns out it was not only not the right shape, it was too many volts. Moral: if you're having charger troubles, take your device in to a neighborhood repair shop like this one. Don't go to a big box store, don't shop online, don't act like you know what you're doing unless you KNOW you know what you're doing. The guys at Broadway Computers spent over half an hour looking for exactly the right charger, and they didn't even charge for labor. I think l actually spent less at Broadway Computers than I did at Best Buy, and for MUCH better service. If you live in Edgewater/Roger's Edge, you should check this place out!

I dropped my Macbook one time and my hard drive failed. I took it to the Mac store downtown and the Macnician, and they were not able to recover the data. In fact, they referred to companies charging upwards of $700 with no guarantee that my pictures would be recovered. I hated the thought of losing pictures of my 6 month old son. I found Ronnie on Thumbtack and he is incredibly personable. He made it incredibly convenient for me to drop off my drive and pick it up from him. He also charged a very reasonable amount for the data recovery (the best quote I had) and was able to recover all of my son's pictures and other archived pictures that I thought were just gone forever. He did all this very quickly (within a week) and just provided excellent service. He is the epitome of what a small business is all about. I highly highly recommend him for your data recovery needs!

Not only was he able to recover the data from my crashed computer at a VERY reasonable price, but he was also able to recover files from a failed portable hard drive for my sister several years later. I'm grateful for all of his hard work and his willingness to answer any questions, even well after the project was complete. The company offers a variety of technological solutions which are SUPER helpful and range from small, quick fixes to major, recovery and server creation options. I have recommended Inspector Technic to several friends and family members who were satisfied equally or greater with the level of care, delicacy, and professionalism provided. I will most certainly be back whenever I have a computer issue or need technological advice.

After chatting on the phone, he then ordered my replacement keyboard and let me know that it would arrive in a day or two and that he could install it shortly after. He even lent me a temporary keyboard so I could do work while we waited for the replacement keyboard to arrive. It gets better - Once the replacement keyboard arrived a day later, Chevy actually came to my office to install it which made things super easy for me. He installed the new keyboard in 10 minutes, I gave him back the temporary keyboard he had lent me, and that was it. Laptop fixed. I highly recommend TekkEez for anyone who needs IT help. Within ten minutes, Renee outlined a plan for me to get rid of the phone service entirely (replacing it with a dirt-cheap option she referred me to), replace my Comcast router with an affordable wireless router that she recommended (with a better signal!) that's configured for my service provider and will pay for itself in nine months, and she even talked me through the specific things to say to the Comcast reps when they tried to get me to retain all of my services. When all was said and done, I came away with a monthly bill that was less than HALF of what I had been paying previously. I only gave up a handful of channels (most of which I didn't watch anyway)... and I even was able to keep HBO!! I'll save over a thousand bucks on my bill this year. Renee had great ideas, clear instructions, and obviously cared about getting me the best outcome possible. Highly recommend!
