He absolutely saved me this week…read more My Lenovo laptop completely failed to boot after a graphics driver cleanup utility corrupted the Windows boot configuration and recovery environment. The system was stuck in a recovery loop, BitLocker was triggered, and Windows wouldn't load or even reliably enter repair mode. Multiple shops I called said it would take several days just to diagnose the issue. Matt turned it around in essentially one day. He was able to manually access the system, unlock BitLocker, repair the corrupted boot configuration, rebuild the necessary Windows files, and get the machine fully operational again -- without wiping my data. That was critical, as I had local files that weren't backed up to the cloud. I went to Nestech Computers, Inc. because I had an issue with my PC. The owner, Raymond Vasciannie…read more(goes by Sean), recommended a new motherboard, as he said my current NZXT N7 Z490 was dead. I found a compatible, refurbished model online (Z590), which he installed, and returned my PC. Shortly after, Raymond reached out, asking for details on my old motherboard, claiming he had a similar client issue. This was unusual given that my motherboard model is rare. Later, I discovered a Facebook listing posted by Raymond, selling an NZXT N7 Z490 marked as "used"--posted shortly after our conversation. I later found out that the same listing was made on OfferUp. I grew suspicious, as the listing perfectly matched the markings on my old, dead board. When I asked him to return my old motherboard back, he agreed and immediately deleted the listing. He returned my motherboard but insisted that he'd sold another client's board, denying that the listing was of my board. Despite clear evidence, he stuck to this story and dismissed my concerns. This experience has raised serious concerns about Raymond's honesty and integrity in handling client property. I'd advise caution to anyone considering Nestech Computers, Inc., as I believe my trust in Raymond was severely misplaced.

To…read morestart off, I should mention I am not an expert in computers & technology, but at the same time I am not a novice either. I have fixed and modded computer components & have built PC's plenty of times on my own. First time I went here, I went to get my 15" Macbook Pro Retina laptop screen fixed, an easy repair. I went here because I was too busy to do it myself. Sorin (lead repair tech) advised to replace my broken screen with a used screen to reduce the repair cost. I said thats sounds good and proceeded. When I got the repair back, the screen itself was dirty and the metal lid had tape and residue on it. I understand that the replacement part was a used piece, but he couldn't spend 5 minutes wiping it down and making it look presentable? This was a $500+ repair. At the end of the day, it isn't a big deal, but the reason I mention this is because it is relevant for my next experience with him and this business. My $7500 custom build PC that I had built, suddenly no longer could boot up, POST or enter BIOS. Sorin offered a diagnostics test for $80. I agreed as I needed to confirm which of my parts was malfunctioning so that I could process a warranty claim with the brand. On the phone, I had asked him if I should bring manuals - he said no. I bring in my PC and I tell him I will be right back as I left my power cable for the PSU in my car. He admentently says I don't need to bring it in (without even looking at my PC). Okay fine...I'm not going to argue with a "professional". I also asked if he would like to be provided a list of the parts in my PC to help him troubleshoot more efficiently. He said nope, no need. I drive back home. Next day, I get a call from him and he tells me that he did not realize my PSU (Corsair AX1600i) has a different plug and that he requires me to bring in my power cable. Great. Now I have to drive all the way back to the store when this could have been avoided if he took 30 seconds to look at my PSU when I first came in. I get a call from him later and explains the tests he ran. I should note that he said he was not fully able to test my CPU (3970x), GPU (RTX 3090), or motherboard as their shop does not have the parts needed to run a in-depth diagnostics test on higher end computer components. *This is why I originally told him if he would like a components list of my build when I first came in.* Basically I paid $80 dollars for a rudimentary diagnostic test that was not comprehensive at all in my opinion, as the CPU, GPU, and motherboard are the most important components of a computer. Fine, I guess this is the best I can get for an $80 dollar diagnostic test. I promptly ask him to put my PC back together so that I can pick it up. When I arrive at the store, he hands me my PC back and he said was not able to get the front facing fan on the CPU cooler mounted properly onto the heatsink. Um...okay...your business is called "PRO - Technology Professionals", but you can't even mount a basic CPU cooler onto the motherboard? I also noticed when he put back my GPU, he did not plug back in the power cables for it. And he also reseated my memory sticks incorrectly (pic included).He clearly put no effort in putting my PC back together. Do you not take pride in your work? Completely sloppy. This kind of leaves a sour taste in my mouth, but again, not a big deal to me, so I bring it back home. When I get back home to inspect my PC closer, I noticed the reason he could not mount the front facing fan on the CPU cooler is because it was the incorrect fan. My CPU cooler (be QUIET! DARK ROCK PRO TR4) has 2 fans that need to be mounted onto its heatsink. I don't understand how he could have messed this up because the two fans are both different sizes and only one of them fits on the inside. Instead, it's clear he forcefully jammed the other fan into it as it is basically impossible for it slide it in otherwise. It is astonishing he did not try to look for the manual online, or bother to call me to confirm how to correctly put the CPU cooler back to together. This was not a AIO or custom loop liquid cooling system... This was a simple cooler with two fans. The only way I could pull out the fan was to break the rubber gasket on the heatsinks - thereby damaging both my fan and heatsink. I call him and address my complaints and was ultimately met with an attitude. He tells me I need to bring my computer back to the store so that he can remove the fan. I refuse as I am not going drive a third time back and told him there is no way to remove the fan without damaging the cooler. I am normally a easy to work with guy and I am usually empathic to certain situations. I didn't even ask for a full refund and was compensated a $20 dollar refund. That doesn't even begin to cover my $90 CPU cooler. To have my $7500+ dollar PC disrespected like this is completely unacceptable. Avoid this place.

I first went 4+ years ago because I broke my headphone jack off in my phone. It was an easy fix for them and I felt silly for waiting so long to come in. My boyfriend has taken his different phones in for various issues, usually screen-related: cracked, non-responsive, distorted, etc. They've always been able to repair/replace it quickly. Overall, I trust the quality of their work, the prices are reasonable, and they're very kind. I highly recommend them!

They were pleasant and professional and we exchanged a bit of humor over the phone and in person. Unfortunately, just two weeks later, a noticeable black blob appeared on the new screen near the Dynamic Island. This looks like OLED screen bleed or a defect. The phone has remained in a case with a screen protector the entire time and has not been dropped, bumped, or otherwise mishandled. Given the timing (only 2 weeks after installation) and the specific location of the spot, this issue is almost certainly the result of either a defective replacement screen or a problem during installation (such as trapped dust, adhesive, or pressure damage). It is not consistent with normal use or accidental damage. I offered to bring the phone in so they could inspect it in person, but they declined and immediately dismissed the warranty claim without examination. While I understand repairs aren't perfect, I'm disappointed they are unwilling to stand behind their work and honor the warranty on what is clearly a post-repair defect. I went from a satisfied customer who would have returned and recommended them to someone who can no longer do so. Potential customers should be aware that warranty support may not be reliable here. EDIT: Contrary to the response below the phone was never physically inspected. Rather, the response was based on a set of photos sent showing the issue which, alone, would be virtually impossible to come to a conclusion of physical damage versus defective product. As a customer, you are in a no win situation here as no matter what happens they are going to blame you and not the manufacturer or installation for the problem.

We were having lots of trouble with a new Lenovo Thinkpad. Viruses, competing malware. We could hardly get it to start up and my daughter had a very important project due for a college course and she needed that machine up and running smoothly. I found SolveMyPC online and took a chance. They responded to my email within a couple of hours and in another hour, a tech was on the phone to set up an appointment. Billy came to my home and he cleaned up every problem, set up the program my daughter needed. Then, just to make things easier for her, he installed and checked everything she could want installed and downloaded. He was fast, totally competent, patient, understanding, and went beyond our expectations. I will call them in a second for both her PC and my MAC. My old laptop was having problems, so I called them on Saturday and they sent someone shortly after. Chris was quite helpful in figuring out what was going on and seeing what could be done about it. Once it became clear that it was not a quick fix, he offered to only charge the flat visitation fee rather than bill for the hours. In the end I decided it would be better to just get another laptop rather than individually replace the defective hardware, and I didn't get charged anything. He offered to help transfer all my data to a new machine, and I should have taken him up on that offer because the only Windows laptops at the store were Windows 8, and Easy Transfer was completely screwed so I had to go back the next day to get an external hard-drive of the sort Chris offered to let me use. To underscore the owners honesty, recently I called about an issue, and rather than charge me, he took 20 minutes to tell me how to resolve it -as it was a GoDaddy issue, and again, Problem fixed. BEWARE!!!!!! For…read moreanything but the most basic of compter repairs, I would steer clear of Northside Tech Support. I took my laptop to Northside because my laptop screen was flickering from time to time. Usually, I repair my computers myself but have been very busy with work and thought I would take it to "the professoinals" at Northside Tech Support so they could quickly make the necessary repairs and I could get back to work. Besides the flickering screen, my laptop had no other issues, was physically and mechanically in great shape and functioned near perfectly. Three weeks and a few days after I had dropped off my computer at Northside and many phone call later, I was told that a component of my computer "crumbled" as they took it apart and that I would be needing additional parts. This was cause for great concern but based on the reviews here on Yelp.com I had seen, I figured they guys must know what they are doing. Despite my growing concern, I decided I would continue to give them the chance to fix my computer. A week or so later, I received another phone call from them where they told me that they had to order some additional parts because their eBay parts supplier and they could not figure out which parts were the correct ones to fit my computer. eBay parts seller?? When asked, Northside told me they get all of their parts for their repairs from eBay, yikes!! Another week or ten days later, I called to inquire about the status of my repair. They told me they still had not figured it out. I asked that they put my machine back together and informed them that I would be picking it up and taking it to another repair facility. Kevin was very upset by this and told me that he "needed more time." I informed him that if he could not repair my computer in the just over four weeks he had it, he needed to give it back to me so I could have someone who knows what they are doing make the repairs. He exclaimed "you have not given me enough time!!" I could go on but after having tried to fix my computer for over a month, when I went to pick it up, my computer looked as if it had been dropped from a second story window. The outer case was cracked off and a "new" case with dents in it was my "new" cover (used part obtained form eBay), a key was broken off my keyboard and the keyboard itselft was no longer set into the computer, the computer would no longer turn on at all, and parts were and screws were missing. I had to look it over for a few minutes to try to ensure that it was even mine. I dropped of a good working computer with a flickering screen problem. Over four weeks later, I picked up a broken computer with missing parts that would no longer turn on or operate at all. I ended up having to purchase a new computer thanks to the fine handiwork of the "computer repair technicians" at Northside. They offered to pay me a nominal sum for the damage to my computer but what they gave me barely made a dent into what I had to spend for a new laptop. Like I said, if you need any type of computer repair besides the most basic of basic repair, steer far wide and exceedingly clear of this place as in my opinion and experience, they clearly do not know what they are doing.

When you hire Prodigy, you are hiring them for the service and knowledge and not their pricing. From my first consultation with Paco, it has been nothing but smooth sailing. Anyway, she somehow broke the molded piece where you insert your power cord. No idea how she did that, didn't even know it was something you could break, but there you are, it's The Queen. Anyway we took her computer in to Chat Tech Solutions to see if they could fix it, The office is small but so cute. Very open space and lots of natural light. The gentleman who was working there was very pleasant and offered us beverages while he assessed the damage to the computer. He called someone because he was not sure if the repair could be done and it turns out, they do not do that type of repair because it requires soldering. However he was kind enough to recommend another place of business, which is where we ended up going to get the repair done. For me that shows a wonderful regard for taking care of the customer, even though they did not make the sale. I will definitely consider them for other work that they can take care.

I brought my HP desktop in 5 years ago on 6/04/14. I want you to know 5 years later, it's STILL…read moreworking just fine. When I bought it originally, there were problems with the OS. I bought it in and explained the issues. Three days later, they called me and said it was ready to pick up. When I brought it home, it worked like a gem. I can honestly say I've had no issues since that time. The work they did was amazing and they even threw in a free mouse at the time because they were worried the one sent to me by the manufacturer was adding to some problems. As proof of what I'm sharing, here's the service sticker atop my computer. Note the date. Simply put, they are miracle workers. Yeah, you may have to wait a few days but it's well worth it!!!
