Brought in a Tascam Model 16 that wasn't connecting via USB to my computer or any other USB device. I sent them an email and didn't get an initial response, which is fine I thought why not just bring it by and drop it off. They are by appointment only for drop-offs and are VERY aggressive about nobody entering the premise. I didn't need them to look at it that day, I just wanted to drop it off. I get they are by appointment only, but were very rude when I asked if I could just drop it off. The technician agreed to take it in and asked what was wrong with it. Told him the it wasn't registering as a USB device. He told me that since it was a digital issue it'd be at least $200-$300 which seemed weird since he hadn't even looked at it yet. I suggested it might just be the USB jack or corresponding PCB, he acted like that was a stupid suggestion. Charged me $100 (cash only, also sketchy) for a bench fee/diagnostics. It wasn't until after I left that I started reading other alarming reviews and decided I didn't want them to go through with any work. The proper way technicians work is they call you with a work estimate before starting any repairs. Instead, I emailed to tell them not to worry about doing any work, and I'd just eat the $100. They said that the technician already started repairs, which again I never approved or received any quote/estimate. I called and emailed multiple times demanding an invoice, and never received anything. The next week they tell me to come pick it up. I show up to find that the technician said it's "unserviceable" that an IC was fried. So, no, they technician did not start on any repairs, that was a lie. At this point I'm just glad to have my mixer back before they could do any damage or charge a crazy repair fee without my approval. Suspicious that their technician didn't know what he was talking about, I took it to Deltronics on Grand Ave. They charged me $75 for a bench fee, a week later told me it was in fact the USB port (like I suggested) and charged me a total of $130 to repair it. Just got it back and works just like new. I posted this same review to google reviews, and they claimed that I'm some kind of bot asking them for money to remove the review. Had taken a pioneer ct-f9191to Ray in February and had to keep calling to see if it was ready or being worked on, had my reservations about calling for like the 4th time because he is such a dick on the phone to you, but i finally did and he said he was backed up with work and the next week it was done. i pay him 360.00 cash thats always fishy and bring it home and play it he replaced 1 bulb and tells me the ff and rew motor is 40 years old and no replacements so i have to live with it, rr and ff very slow which i know is the issue with a deck this old, but tells me he changed everything else belts etc... I locate a motor and call Ray and he refuses to install it because he claims it won't work. I send my unit to a guy in Florida I find on ebay that says he has repaired these decks for 40 years and has found new replacement motors that he installs and they work great for another 40 years. So he repairs it and sends it back to me in 6 day turnaround. Now I am out 360.00 and now another 250.00 plus shipping but this guy is great the unit works like new and he went through the deck and replaced a bag of parts that he sent me so he did a full referb, he says to me if he had to testify in court he would swear no one has ever opened this unit but him and replaced anything, he said all the parts that Ray would have replaced for a referb were not replaced the Florida guy replaced all of the needed parts and sent me back what he did. Communication with Florida was great, now I was out more money, lesson learned I guess This deck has costed me 300.00 more then I planned but boy it plays like nothing i have heard before in a cassette deck and works like it is new. Ray did a referb on a sx-980 of mine several years ago and it works great but I am now leary that he even did anything to it but tune the tuner and replace some bulbs that cost me 300.00 cash. So do I recommend Ray at Just Service "HELL NO" I think he is a shyster and crook and he treats you like dirt and you don't know anything. Don't take a toaster there. read more

Takes a week to repair. When I picked it us he gives a receipt that doesn't explain or give a detailed breakdown down of what was repaired. My Akai Reel-to-Reel was occasionally dropping a channel during playback/recording, so I took it to Just Service. I was told by Ray, the owner, that this repair shop used to be an authorized Akai Service Center. Well, when I tried to record on the unit after picking it up from repair, it would not record, and it was recording GREAT before I took it to Just Service. When I reported the condition to Ray, he said, "the heads are probably dirty again from you using old analog tape"; that's absolutely ridiculous since this happened while I was trying to record on the unit for the VERY FIRST TIME after picking it up from Just Service; NO TAPE had even passed through the head system yet! Now the unit is not recording, and the channel is dropping again. It's still under the 90-day service warranty but now I don't even trust Just Service to do the warranty work. This business doesn't even give you a repair ticket when you drop off your item; they will tell you, "We'll call you when its ready", They only take cash, probably because a Credit Card can be disputed if it's proven that the service was not provided. You will also not be allowed into the shop when you drop off and pick up your unit, supposedly due to Covid but more likely because they don't want you to see the conditions that your unit will be exposed to while it is there. Ray is a real tool and will talk to you like you are a piece of dirt on his shoe if you ask questions or dispute something that he says, totally rude and unprofessional. This person took my money and lied about fixing my unit. I had a tape deck that needed to be fixed. I reached out first via telephone, and he said that it would roughly cost $300 because it would need to be refurbished. I agreed and went to drop off the unit. When I came to the place, he cracked open the door and didn't let me inside nor did he give me a receipt, I was concerned but he said due to Covid he would send it via email. Which I found odd because this was way past Covid and business were running normal again. I went home and had a bad feeling and kept searching more about this business, when I looked at Yelp there were so many negative reviews it was shocking and also the Better Business Bureau's rating is a an F. I called immediately asking to pick up my unit and he said he already started "fixing it" and ordered the parts. He also said I had to pay him cash which it doesn't say anywhere on his website. After several weeks he called and said he had to "refurbish" the whole unit and now I had to pay him $400. I asked a lot of questions about what was actually fixed and he became aggressive and condescending. I was stuck now but he assured me that I have a "warranty" if something doesn't work and I would get a receipt. I came there and again he cracked open the door and asked for the money and returned the unit. Once I got home I plugged the unit in and there was no sound on any of the channels, then I replaced the tape and the whole tape head locked. My heart sank. I called him back up and told him what happened and he became very irritable and aggressive and said I probably dropped it. He said I can bring it back but it would cost me as the unit was fine when it left the store. While driving there I started thinking that this person is going to essentially scam me again, so I decided to go to Deltronics instead. I dropped off the unit there and they said they would get back to me. I get a call a few weeks later saying the unit is ready for pick up. They went into great detail about what was damaged and what needed to be replaced. I had to pay an additional $300. The owner of Just Service lied and said he refurbished the unit when in fact he didn't do any of that. He didn't even bother to check if it worked. I have the receipt from just service that just says "refurbished" and I have the receipt from Deltronics that shows the specific details on what needed to be fixed. Overall Ray from Just Service scammed me out of $400 and a lot of other people. Based on what I read on his google reviews he will try to attack me and say it's not true but I have the receipts to prove this. My suspicion is he clearly pays for fake google reviews as the ones from Yelp are drastically different and the negative ones, he goes and starts attacking people. Also go and check his BBB rating, it's a big fat F. Don't believe his BS with "I've been in business for 30+ years" it just means he has been getting away with scamming people for far too long. read more

Couldn't believe the way that I was spoken to at the door when neither their website nor their Google page stated you needed an appointment to have an estimate done so I could have something repaired. Be took one quick look me up and down, glanced at the item I needed repaired and said "we're not going to repair that, buy a new one online...that's only about a $30 replacement online". Which that's not the case due to the fact that it's no longer being manufactured nor can I simply connect the surround sound system speakers to another generic player as he stated. I would've happily paid him to repair my item, even if it was $100+...simply due to the lack of its availability. Shoot, if he could've found the exact item for $30 and it worked, he could've just pocked the $70+ and called it a day. Serves me right for not reading the reviews before making an appointment to bring in my guitar effects pedal for servicing. My experience pretty much matches most of the other unfavorable reviews here. Ray's pretty unfriendly, and refused to tell me what he did to fix the device. Since you can't actually enter the store, I had no way of testing the unit before I left. When I got home, I realized the device wasn't completely fixed (it now powered up when it hadn't before, but remained noisy and the power jack was loose). I called Ray, and told me I was wrong and that the unit was 100% fine when it left the shop. I thought about bringing it back for him to finish what I paid for, but decided to avoid the additional aggravation in dealing with this business. Just Service and who I believe is the owner (Ray) is the single most rude, arrogant and unhelpful person I have ever come across in the service industry. I am very disappointed in the (lack of service and lack of repair for what I paid $300 cash) and the stereo is still not repaired to my expectation! All appointments have to be made online on their website which I can completely understand given the recent pandemic. However, given how exacting they require your description of the repair needs to be via their website, I was very careful to specify the feedback and static coming from the speakers of a system I wanted to bring in for repair. I was very clear that there seemed to be a short or loose wire where the speakers connect to the receiver. Before I drove into Chicago I spoke with Ray who said just bring the receiver. "we've repaired hundreds of these and it's never the speakers". I tried to explain that I am pretty sure its the speaker/connection plug (in addition to the receiver). I wasn't trying to be difficult, but just wanted to make sure we were covering all angles since I was driving such a long way. Again, he rudely told me just bring the receiver. OK, fine, he's supposedly the expert. He said it will be about $300 to repair. I make an appointment and show up at my assigned time. There is no entering the store - drop off by appointment only. I am fine with that since we are in a pandemic, but he unlocks the door and takes my receiver and says he'll call me when it's ready. I try to ask a few more questions but he rudely pulls the door closed. I knock and ask him about the price and what he thinks it will be once he does a diagnostic and again, rudely, says "I already told you it will be $300 dollars". He then shuts and locks the door as I am standing there incredulously. I get a call the next week that it is ready. I make another appointment and show up and pay him the $300 cash and pick up my receiver. I try to ask him what was wrong with it and what he had to repair. Rather than take a few minutes to explain, he appears annoyed as if I am questioning his authority. Again, a very short and rude interchange, and I am left feeling bad about my decision once again to come here in the first place. When I return home and am able to reconnect the receiver to the speakers the very static and feedback I originally had is still present. At this point I am furious and have given them $300 cash. I am fine with what he may (or may not have repaired) in my receiver, but the system is still not working without static and feedback. I call Ray back who immediately goes on the defensive and says its probably the speaker connection from my misuse of the system. At the same time, he keeps saying he's repaired hundreds of these and it's never the speakers. Fine, I may have over the years disconnected the speakers on many occasions and damage does happen when connecting and disconnection cords and wires. I get that. But now he is blaming me instead of the fact that during my original conversation with him I suggested I bring in the speakers too so he could look at/repair the whole system at once. Again this guy keeps telling me it's never the speakers. Ray, it's the speakers!!!! He says i can bring the system back in with the speakers and he will look at them and repair the speakers (speakers plug) but I will have to pay another repair fee. At this point I am so frustrated with this guy and he has me over a barrel - I ask him for an estimate but all he says is "it won't be that much...". I have to go through the whole appointment process, drive back into the city, drop it off. He does repair it and it's ready the next day. When I call him back he confirms it was the speaker connector (as I suggested initially) and he tells me one of the speakers is also blown. He's repaired what he can but can't repair the blown speaker. No charge - an unexpected and pleasant surprise. (although he does not come to the door and explain or speak to me but instead sends his assistant to deal with me). So here I am, I have spent $300, made 4 trips to his store, and I am only slightly better off that when I started. Had he done a professional diagnosis of the system and provided a clear explanation of the repairs needing to be done, I most likely would have said "no thank you, not worth the repair". End of story. I am done with Just Service and recommend you steer clear of this place! This guy and his horrendous lack of service, rudeness and arrogance is no way to treat a public who are looking to him for his expertise. I found Just Service via a google search. I called their phone number and the message starts off telling you that Just Service is a high quality notable service company that provides free estimates. I drove 46 miles to bring in my Vintage Pioneer Elite Laserdisc player as my disc drawer was no longer opening. When I arrived a nice guy by the name of ray came out and assisted with the door to get in. I explained my issue and with power cord plugged in the units disc drawer will not open. He looked at it and said they would fix it and then asked for a $100.00 deposit and told me the total cost would be $100 to $300 to fix. This was April 14, 2017. I waited a month and then in the subsequent 3 months I emailed them as service never answers the phone. After my 3rd email I received a phone call telling me that the power supply was burned out! Hmm, I brought it in for a repair for the tray door not opening! The unit powered up and all displays were clearly displayed! So long story short, it took them 3 months to determine there was no power?? The issue was not power it was the drawer not opening. There is no way to argue with a company like this, it is what it is. They charge you $100 and they know there is no way you would ever take them to court to get your money back. This is a scam place and I got taken clear and simple! Lesson learned! Laserdisc on its way to a electronics place in Virginia to be fixed! No way to say anything good about this place! If I could give a negative star rating I would. BEWARE this is a con joint! Update: I did not know I could update so someone just liked my comments so I went into the site and read the comment and saw update. So this is the update, 2 weeks after I picked up my laser disc I sent it to a repair company out east. His name was Kurtis Bahr. He gave me an estimate which had nothing to do with the power control in the laserdisc it was a the mechanisms that loads and controls the laser disc. 3 weeks later I received my plaster disc back and this is what I found. The old part that caused the issue, a completely polished out shell, with a note stating all was internally cleaned and lubricated. Total cost $225 Not including shipping. So Knowing this was an old machine I wanted a backup as I 1,100 laserdiscs of all types. I purchased it on eBay and did not take out of the original box and sent it to Kurtis with a note to do whatever was needed to get back to normal. 2 weeks later email arrived and he stated the laser disc was very dirty but all parts worked. I returned email and do whatever he would do if it was his!! Total cost $125 not including shipping. I received the unit and it looked better than mine, polished, cleaned and lubed. Bottom line you can find honest technicians if you look. Another thumb down for JUST SERVICE. That's a scam and waste of $100. read more

I waited nearly a year to write this review because I only recently moved out of my old apartment, and I don't want the owners to know where I live. That should say something about how terrible this place is. It was the beginning of December last year, and I wanted to transfer some high school VHS tapes to DVDs for my friends. I lived very close, so I stopped in and was quoted $20/tape. High, but okay. I was going to shop around a bit, but their proximity to my home was simply too convenient for me to pass up, so I called later that week to confirm that they could finish the conversion before Christmas. The owner answered and was VERY short, rude, and basically a jerk for no reason. I literally said "Hey, how much does this service cost?" and he treated me like I was an insane moron for asking. Turns out I was misquoted and it would actually cost less than anticipated. So, bad internal communication, but at least I was getting a better price. I was assured that it would take no longer than a week for the conversion. A week went by. Nothing. I stopped in to ask about my status, and was assured it'd be done "the next day," but to ONLY check the status online from that point forward. So I checked it the next day... and the next day... fast forward to a week before Christmas. I stopped in again. I was ASSURED it would be ready by the Friday before Christmas. It wasn't. It wasn't ready for the rest of December. They'd promised me a 48-hour turnaround at one point, and now they'd had my tapes for over a month. Then I read their Yelp reviews. My God. Look at them. Several reviewers state, implicitly, DO NOT GO HERE. They are right. Don't. Fearing I would never see my VHS tapes again, I "checked in" with them (online AND by phone) every week until I finally stopped in mid-January and said "I realize you guys must be really busy, so if you don't think you'll have time to convert my tapes, then I can just take them and do it myself, no harm done or anything" in a desperate attempt to salvage my high school memories. I was then PROMISED it would be done within 48 hours. And it was, miraculously. About a month too late. Upon pickup, I learned that one of the DVDs was burned incorrectly (the footage simply cuts off halfway through the tape), but the rest were fine. And they tried to charge me $100. I was livid, but tried to keep my cool. "I was quoted half that," I said, and the awkward but at least generally friendly attendant went back to "check with his boss" before coming back and saying "yeah, the initial price is fine, he's really cutting you a deal here" (this for several missed Christmas gifts and three physical DVDs, an overhead of maybe $1 with taxes). I left and never went back. If you are considering going here for any reason: DO NOT. They have an F with the BBB. They have less than 2 stars on Yelp (and would have negative stars if all these reviews weren't filtered). They are the worst. They are crooks and they are not a nice place and they will steal from you if they can. They made me sick to my stomach while holding my memories hostage, and I will never, ever pay for any service like this ever again without checking Yelp first. Atrocious. I am writing this review as a FAVOR to anyone who thinks they should ever go here for any reason. If this place were a hospital and you were literally bleeding to death, I would sooner tell you to drive to Milwaukee than seek treatment here. Because even if you had to bleed out in a car for 2 hours, you'd still have a better chance at survival than if you went here. read more

Stay away!!!! Took my TV in for repair, they required a deposit and could not tell me when to expect an update regarding repair. When I questioned this I was yelled at by the owner. I asked for my TV back since I did not feel good about this. They returned my deposit and TV and said to get out, and never to return to their store again. I can see why most people posting on yelp would be turned off. Just Service is probably the least customer service oriented service business Ive been to in quite some time. The owner, while Im sure well-meaning, is not particularly friendly or forth-coming with information. I brought in my receiver (thankfully for me it was under warranty, however, on the down side, the manufacturer required that I go here. Otherwise, based on reviews, I would've stayed far away) with a network connection issue. They had it for just about 5 weeks and gave it back to me saying they didn't have the same problem I experienced. I didn't get much explanation or guidance as to what to do now, other than quipping 'Apple networks are fussy and unpredictable'. Hard for me to complain since I didn't have to pay anything, and I understand consumer electronics are tricky to deal with, but if you are looking to have your hand held and be apprised of all ongoings with your hardware, Id find a different place. read more

When your hard drive crashes you feel a bit desperate, and there are a lot of places that will try to take advantage of that desperation. When mine crashed, I called around to a few places offering data recovery services and estimates were north of $2000. Um, my old emails aren't that valuable. But, I still wanted the job done. I stopped by Just Service and they said they could do it for around $100. Done. I dropped off the dead disk, and a week or so later they gave me back a couple CDs filled with the files I wanted restored. They're aren't the most responsive company and the staff can come across as a bit surly. But in the end, I came here with a problem and they solved it for a reasonable price. And to make matters worse, they treat customers like sh** Had a terrible experience with them where they ripped me off, charging $140 to fix a problem with my Denon stereo receiver that probably took 15 minutes . Guy leaves a brutally rude message on my voice mail about 2 hours after I dropped it off saying "Your receiver is ready; it's $140; and we accept cash". BANG. Hangs up. When I went by to pick it up I asked why it was so much and he said they'd worked on it for like 6 hours. Unfortunately, as noted earlier he called me telling me it was ready about 2 hours after I dropped it off. Have the phone records to prove it. So I reported them to BBB and wrote a review on Ripoff Report, and then of course the guy started sending me threatening letters. I emailed him, told him if he'd refund $80 I'd call off the BBB. He agreed, I told the BBB the case was closed and then he stiffed me and wouldn't return a nickel. What an a**hole. There is nothing good to say about this place. The shop is a dump, the guy is an over the top jerk with no people skills, he has an absolutely terrible track record of cheating and lying to customers and if you read some of these reviews here, you'll notice their work isn't all that good. At first; Pleasant; informative; eager to get my amplifier unit repaired. Its been sitting in my bedroom entertainment unit & one day, it just..stops.. working.. I went to pick up (because they repaired it awful FAST for parts that needed ordering).. I got home and found a few things that WERE working on the unit before, were NOT working now. I called the place & the guy over the phone told me that MAYBE I dropped the unit when I picked it up, and THATS why the other things weren't working. Do you believe that??? LOL! I took the unit back and they seemed MORE hostile than my initial encounter. Over the phone & in person, the true colors came out, this 2nd time around. They were pompous; rude, and in short; NOT customer friendly. I also saw this with another customer that was picking up a repaired unit. I would say, stay away. Absolute crooks. Gave my LCD TV for repairs. They took $240 for the repair, and the TV is exactly as it was when we gave it in for repairs. I am not sure they even did anything at all. When I enquired, he was obnoxious and rude and made all sorts of excuses. I then saw the abysmal reviews on Yelp the business already had and realized these guys should not be in business. I would avoid bringing any business here. The dude was such an incredible A h0le over the phone that I never even got as far as bringing him my business. Wondering if he was just having a bad day (we all do from time to time) I decided to check Yelp. Whoa. Apparently drives of people have had much worse experiences. I felt lucky it never got past the phone stage of things. The sad thing is that the other company in Chicago that provides a similar set of services is Deltronics and almost every professional I've spoken with in Chicago has had unpleasant experiences with them. What's a good, happy, kind person to do other than warn other good happy kind people to stay away? Would someone who is pleasant please open a repair shop in Chicago? read more

I brought my Linn Sizmik 10.25 here, because no other shop would touch it, on account of its many proprietary parts. I was well aware of all of these reviews on yelp. But no one commented on the quality of Tom's work, only his attitude. So I decided to risk it, hoping that I could write a redeeming review about this misunderstood eccentric. Tom, after disparaging every technician in the city, confidently assured me that he could fix the sub for between $100-$140. 8 months later, and after many requests for updates, I am told that the subwoofer is fixed. I bring it home only to find that it is NOT fixed;I bring it back the next day. A day later, Tom calls me to that the sub has NEW problems and will cost at least $700 to fix. When I collect the subwoofer, Tom accuses me of wiring it incorrectly to my system. When I show him the instruction manual, he says it is wrong. When I tell him that my research on-line confirms my set-up, he says everything (yes, everything) on the internet is lies. When I smiled at one point in the conversation, he accuses me of mocking him... You get the picture. Tom lives in a very different world than the rest of us; I guess I should not have been surprised that the laws of electromagnetism are different there. Tom's shop does appear to be busy, so he must be able to engage productively with real humans, but if you have advanced hi fi needs, I would go to van L Speakerworks. John re-capped the powersupply for $250, and now the subwoofer sings. And john is a lovely audiophile, who also enjoys human interaction. read more

i am surprised to see many negative reviews of this company. i am in California, and i looked around the innernet for a place that could fix my old dvd recorder/player. i finally found "Just Service". i printed and filled out the online repair form, boxed up the unit, and sent it in. within a week, i received a phone call: "good news - parts are available, we can have it fixed by the end of the day". boom. done. no chit-chat, no trying to sell something i don't need, no ridicule, no nothing! the guy on the phone just told me how much to pay (which was reasonable) and they'd ship as soon as they receive payment. i received the recorder/player within maybe a week....and it has played and recorded as if it was new ever since. i am very satisfied with their repair and prompt service. i wouldn't hesitate to send something else that might need repair in the future. it seems there aren't a lot of electronics repair places around these days..... i was a little surprised that they used phone calls instead of email, and they requested an actual check/money order instead of paypal, (or another online payment method), but that certainly doesn't detract from the thorough & speedy work they did. read more

I read the reviews and took my chances. Big mistake. The owner and receptionist were rude and overly aggressive when I asked the simplest of questions. I felt like a criminal being interrogated by the police whenever I asked a repair question. I paid 85$ for my tv to be repaired and it came back with more problems than it went in with. The guy claimed he fixed it but refused to answer any questions I had. I asked him a simple question a "repair expert" would know and refused to answer. After refusing to answer he said he could not have a conversation with me (implying I was the rude one). The guy is RUDE and will be of no help if any problems arise. Go somewhere else!!! If you do run into problems you will have no luck. No matter how courteous/calm or hysterical/angry (another customer tried that while I was waiting) you get they will be of no assistance. No refunds even if they fail to fulfill their repair. read more

I had a part or two missing from a record player my parents gave me. I popped in yesterday with pictures, seeing if maybe they could just sell me the parts. There's a stoned-looking teenager in there who looked surprised to see a customer, and said, "Uh, you should just bring it in." Fair enough. Today I lug the record player over there. The bleary-eyed kid tries a few times to get the guy's attention ("He's back there talking to someone"), but to no avail. To his credit, he tried to entertain me with some chatter about analog recording and record players and blah-blah. Nice kid, but helpless at the desk. The guy finally comes out after 15 minutes and gives me what might be called a minimalist approach to customer service. I pull apart the machine and show him where I think the missing part is. He curtly says "So you want a belt? Twenty bucks." I ask him if that's all that's missing. Again, "Twenty bucks for a belt." I have to keep pressing him on if there are any more parts missing, or I should just leave it there for a day. Guy: "I don't know, does it work?" It spins when I plug it in. "Belt, twenty bucks." I bought it for twenty dollars even (this is a thin piece of rubber), and the guy gave me no receipt. I take it home, and the thing spins, but doesn't play through the speakers. Maybe a more customer-service type of place would have taken a moment to plug it in, figure out if this thing works at all, explain it a little to me. But the guy has a real attitude. I'm going to Deltronics around the block next time. They are much more professional. read more

Oh man have I been waiting to write this review. Keep in mind as you read that this is maybe the 5th review I've written in a few years, and the other ones are all positive. I'm here to let everyone know that uses social reviews, that the owner of Just Service is a criminal. He took $160 of my money to repair my vizio 37 inch LCD television and returned it in worse condition than when it left. He didn't repair the power supply as requested, and now the HDMI channel is washed in purple. He told me a bunch of crap about firmware and slow power charges. Things that don't exist and didn't cause the problems to my television. Upon letting him know that I had done my research and the TV was still not working, he proceeded to hang up on my over and over again. When I called the next day and tried to start the conversation again, he tried to tell me that it was the service line and that complaints are only dealt with through email. I told him I had talked to him yesterday about my TV. Without a word, he hung up on me. If you've read this far, understand one thing. These social media sites are here for two reasons I believe. To let you boost up the businesses that deserve to be boosted up, and to make sure that you can prevent other people from throwing their money away. Well, this is one of those situations. The owner of Just Service was nothing short of a criminal in our dealings, and I just finished filing my report to the better business bureau, where Just Service has an F rating. Do your research and find another locally owned TV repair shop in Chicago and go with them. People like the man that own this shop, should have their doors closed down. I give this place 1 star only because I have to give it a star rating to post this review. This was the WORST experience I've ever had as a customer. This guy's idea of service is being rude and untrustworthy. He was pleasant enough when I first brought my equipment in to be fixed, but when I called in for a status update after dealing with his weird, website only status update rule and getting nowhere, I was met with defiance. He refused to give me any info regarding my repair status and I still really don't know why. Whatever the case, I immediately decided to go in and talk to him in person. He refused to answer any questions about the condition of my equipment or where in the repair process he was and he wouldn't return my items even after I offered to pay him the full price if his estimate. So, I called the police and only after they arrived was he miraculously able to "reassemble" my equipment and return it to me on the spot. The equipment, a 1960s Fisher tuner and receiver, wasn't inoperable when I brought it in, just in need of service. Now I hope that when "putting it back together" he didn't damage it. Hopefully, he never even touched it. it's being repaired now by a reputable business. If Just Service damaged my things I will definitely add to this review as well as report him to the BBB. read more
