Kenny was great! Great quick service! Highly recommend. Personally I prefer small businesses, like this one, that's in the neighborhood and personally owned and staffed with familiar, friendly people like this one. Thanks again Kenny. read more

Great service, timely and very friendly. Andrew was great to work with as he changed our locks out quickly and even made us several spare keys. I would highly recommend for their professionalism, pricing and overall good business. read more

EDIT 3: I got a call today from the office manager apologizing for the overcharging and wanted to know how they could fix things. We negotiated a better price and the difference will be refunded back to my card. Now I am satisfied with the service and content with the price. EDIT 2: I suck at math. That said, current value of car is still probably accurate. EDIT 1: Now that I have calmed down I think I can deliver probably a more honest review. Pros- Quick response and professional service. He had it open in less than 5 minutes without even triggering the car alarm. Cons- They did not mention the cost or estimate over the phone until the technician got there and started working. Incidentally, much more expensive than I was expecting (40 for service call, 125 for the airwedge because he couldn't use the slimjim? My locksmith in Michigan used the airwedge as a first option and there was no additional fee- it was just included in the service call). Called less than 5 minutes after my card was swiped to see if a coupon could be applied after the fact to adjust the price and was told that any sort of refund or adjustment was impossible once the card was swiped. Then checked other peoples yelp reviews to find that apparently it is possible. So more bleah. In retrospect I really wish I had shopped around more- I found cheaper places within 5 minutes and a couple of phone calls. So that is what I get for using the first result on google I guess and trusting high reviews. Or just said no after I found how expensive this was actually gonna be. Despite their professionalism, I don't think I will be using them again. 165 dollars for 5 minutes of labor means that I paid $1,980/hr. So basically the current value of the car per hour. Tips- They have coupons on their website that can make it cheaper. You apparently must mention it BEFORE they swipe the card though. read more

I was locked out of my home on a day that I didn't have extra time. SUPER STEVE came to the rescue! He was very nice and professional. Before I knew it I was in my home. Will definitely call again if I need them. read more

Mike arrived earlier than expected and he was out in no time. As someone had mentioned, I was a bit concerned because he looked very young but he was as professional as any locksmith can get. He explained everything in details and I was very pleased with his service. I would definitely use them again! read more

I can not tell you how happy I am with the service I received from David ("DJ") of Chicago Locksmith. The key to our front door broke off in the keyhole and we could not get into our house. I called another service first and their quote was $180. That was ridiculous, so I eventually I called Chicago Locksmith. Their quote was about $110, but DJ was able to help me get in for just the service call charge of $45. I was so happy (I've never written a yelp review before, that's how happy I am). I also asked DJ about some other lock-related issues we have (re-keying our house and fixing a gate lock) and got an estimate from him. His quote came in at less than half of other quotes, and for the gate, he offered up a solution that better fit our needs than what had been done before, again for much less than I previously paid. Usually I think of locksmiths as a business that takes advantage of you when you are most vulnerable. I did not feel that way with DJ of Chicago Locksmiths and so they will definitely be the first service I call when I am again in need of their service. Thank you Chicago Locksmith! read more

My mom's car keys were stolen last week on my trip to Chicago. My mom is old so I called around at different places for her trying to find places and everybody was either 140 or more. I called Chicago locksmiths, john answered right away and gave me a very reasonable price and not only opened my mom's locked car and gave her a new key for her car but he changed her locks at her house and made me 2 sets . He was very helpful and didn't mind helping me. Thank you so much John!!! read more

This is my second time working with Mike Finnegan. I have multiple rental properties and have worked with a fair number of locksmiths. He's the best locksmith so far. He's professional, has a wonderful personality, and a passion for what he does. It's actually a joy to watch him work, and I doubt I've ever called working with a locksmith a JOY. He's that nice to work with. I've recommended him to multiple people and they all seem to be extremely impressed. Nice work, Mike! read more

Joe was great! On time, quick, and affordable. Changed all the locks. Fixed a door lock alignment. Made it all look easy. I highly recommend! read more

Update-- so no less than 2 hours after posting my review they called me to inquire about the poor experience. I told them my experience and they apologized and offered me a 'discount'; since I had already paid, it would be a small refund. This was a token of their appreciation for my business and an offering for my inconvenience. I thought this was very kind of them and accepted. Little did I know that this would turn into several calls to find out if I had updated my review of their service. The gesture doesn't turn back the hands of time and make poor service great. It compensates one for their inconvenience. Unfortunately, I was further inconvenienced by the repeated phone calls asking if I had updated my review. Mind you, they would start by asking if I had gotten the money back on my card, which doesn't require multiple phone calls. Either way, each of those calls ended with '..so, did you get a chance to update your review yet?'. There was a chance I would have used them again, based on their gesture. Now it seems like they were just trying to buy a better review. Maybe I will, maybe I won't. I leave my review at a 3.. remember, you cannot buy good reviews; you have to earn them. read more

Fantastic experience dealing with this locksmith company. I called the main office and was put in touch with Tory, who is the technician that ultimately installed two deadbolt locks and re-keyed our entire apartment. He was great from the start -- giving us his opinion on which locks he would recommend and detailing the process and cost of re-keying. Tory arrived on time, was super friendly and made sure everything was done to our liking. I'm sure the other installers/technicians are great, too, but you can't go wrong if you call these guys and request Tory. Great service, would highly recommend read more

I went in about to 2 weeks ago. The service was great. Chris was the person that helped me out. He is honestly a great worker. He even went out of his way to help me jump my car back up after I left the shop. Thanks a lot for that once again, Chris. I definitely recommend this shop to anyone that needs to make copies of any keys or anything to do with locks. You guys are the best! read more

Chris was very helpful when I needed to have new keys made. They were fast, professional and speedy!

The latch on my front door wouldn't unlock, literally trapping me inside my house. I called Chicago Locksmith and Issac was at my house within 30 minutes. He was very polite, very professional, and very speedy. He changed my lock and re-keyed it so that I wouldn't have to carry an additional key. Awesome service. I'm bookmarking for the next time I lock myself out! read more

We just bought a new house, and after closing we wanted to re-key the locks. I found Chicago Locksmith on Google and was able to schedule someone to come out that evening on short notice. A Tech named Omar came out to the new house within about 30 minutes and was very friendly. He was able to re-key all locks for a very reasonable price, and finished the job fairly quickly. read more

Called these guys because our lock was not working, so we bought a new lock and handset to have them install. The guy that showed up, Thomas Dean, explained that the lock we bought was not compatible with our door, first of all. But most importantly he showed us that our lock was not broken in the first place. All he had to do was push a button that we didn't realize existed. He adjusted things a bit and charged us a minimal fee and the standard fee for showing up. Super friendly, very honest and explained everything in detail. Great experience. Thanks! read more

Was just driving down Milwaukee when I saw the locksmith sign and remembered I needed a couple of keys. I was hesitant about going to a hardware store bc they don't always work. These guys took care of me immediately. No wait, no hassle. And both keys worked perfectly. I just paid $400 for a remote car key. I should have gone to these guys and probably could have saved a bunch of money. read more

I called Tory and he was able to come to our house 30 min after we got off the phone even though it wasn't an emergency! He was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. We had just moved to a new house and needed to change our locks as well as we were having problems with 2 of our doors. He was patient in telling me about some of the different products and the things he would be able to do to make our locks better. He was able to fix our backdoor lock, install upgraded locks to 4 of our doors, install 2 keypad deadbolts and make new keys. Thanks! I would definitely call them again if I have any other lock needs. read more

Stephen was prompt, friendly, and did what was requested for the price he said it would cost. Recommended.

Had a fantastic experience with Tory from Chicago locksmiths. I have a side door with a unusual/exotic locking mechanism that jammed so the door couldn't be opened from the inside or out. I called Chicago Locksmiths and Tory was at my house 15 minutes later. He fixed it within 30 minutes and the door works perfectly now. All in all a great experience...hard to imagine what else I could've asked for. They guaranteed it for 60 days so if the jam happens again they'll come back at no additional charge. Will definitely use these guys again. read more

Robert went above and beyond to help me, calling multiple Subaru dealerships to find me the correct key and get back into my car the same day. I lost my car key fob on vacation and wanted a replacement. After looking into the prices at a stealership, I knew I needed plan B. I found a replacement fob for 20% of the stealership cost, and then needed someone to reprogram it. I found Chicago Locksmiths on Yelp, and then I left an email requesting an estimate on CL's website. They got back to me within half an hour and gave me an estimate. Not only that, they called back in a week to see if I still needed them and to set up an appointment if I did. Nobody does that!! When I came into their shop the next day, a cheerful young man took care of me and I was out in 10 minutes, at much less cost than I expected to pay. Thanks a million!!!!!! read more

It was 1:30 AM on March 1 of this year. If you recall that night, we had a snow storm. My husband and I found ourselves in a desperate situation when we realized that we lost the keys to our apartment. Considering that it was way past midnight and it was snowing, a locksmith can charge whatever they wanted, I never had to deal with one, but the horror stories you hear prepared me for the worst. Max arrived within 15 minutes and got to work. He gave us the worst case scenario(drilling the lock) and the best case, including all the cost up front. The service fee (for showing up) was $19-90, which I did not mind paying at all, Max had to come in the middle of the night and to fight the snow storm on top of that. After unlocking TWO locks, with one we hoped we didn't have to drill, he skillfully opened both with no damage, saving us $150 in landlord fees for replacing a lock if we'd have to drill it. All set and done, the cost was $148. Nobody likes to pay for an inconvenience, but the professionalism, punctuality and the skill provided, I say it was well worth it. Thanks Max! read more

They came in literally ten minutes. Tory was a big help, very friendly and very honest. I would definitely recommend this.

We recently moved into a new house and had to get it re-keyed. Karl came out and was able to re-do all of the locks, including gates, on the same key! Karl got right to work and finished the job very quickly, despite multiple boxes and other items in his way. Thanks!! read more

So happy and grateful for the quick and efficient service! I locked myself out of my boyfriend's truck and his keys were locked in while he was on vacation. This required getting in touch with him (while in another state) to confirm that I was a permitted driver of the truck. I appreciated the extra security measures taken to get in touch with my boyfriend to ensure that they weren't letting a random stranger into just any car. Stephen was incredibly professional and saved me from a terrible night. He was right on time based on the ETA he told me and the whole process and payment only took about 10 min. I wasn't able to get into my storage unit in my building so I called and Isaac got back to me right away. Isaac was a really great guy and I had a really nice conversation with him. He did all of this really quickly while maintaining an in-depth conversation with me. I had a great experience with this company and I would use them again. read more
