Was really looking forward to this meal but definitely have some regrets....and a bit disappointed. We started in the bar since our table wasn't ready. My cocktail was perfect so I had two. My big regret is that we didn't just stay there. At the time the bar was packed and there are just too many stools at the bar. So, even as it emptied iut, it felt cramped. We went to the restaurant when the hostess fetched us. It was cold and the tables are alongside a wall. Service was severely lacking... but not for everyone. We joked that our waiter was really the cook because we never saw him. We had to flag down others for things (water, utensils, etc.). Now the food- Yeah that was perfect! I had the French onion soup and it was as good as I remembered. My friend got the escargot. The salad was excellent too. For our mains, he got the seared tuna which was perfect but I would have preferred more white beans with it. I got the loup de mar fish and it was absolutely delicious. Loved it! A very tasty meal in Georgetown! I enjoyed my experience at this intimate and cozy restaurant. The food was very good! I loved the scallop appetizer and was very impressed by the entrees too. The duck confit was cooked perfectly, although the sauce was just a tad too salty. The pasta similarly was very good! The prices are a little high, but not out of the ordinary for Georgetown. Such a dreamy restaurant that's super cute for date night! My boyfriend and I came here after spending the day walking around Georgetown and were greeted with such a friendly atmosphere and service. My only complaint is that the tables were placed so close together so it was very cramped and couldn't have a more intimate dining experience. We tried their beef tartare, duck special, and sea bass. The mains were great but I was not a fan of the beef tartare, it was just overpowered by the onions and pickles and you couldn't taste anything else besides that. read more

Food is always the highlight. No cheesy frills, just very good food without being cliche. Service is always crisp, mindful and professional. It's not a place to bring kids that don't know how to behave at a restaurant or that don't try a variety of foods, but we've had our nearly 12 year old foodie a few times and have seen other families with well-minded kids be treated as professionally and kindly as any other adult table. Perfect French gem in Georgetown. Great service and food that packs a punch. They have great cocktails available (recommend the corpsican reviver and the bitters bees knees). For food, the onion soup is a classic and a staple. Tons of ooey gooey cheese and delicious broth. For mains we got the yellowfin tuna (very much like a Niçoise salad...but not a salad) and the burger. The burger is to die for. Saucy, two smash patties, cheese, sautéed onions, perfectly crispy fries. We'll come back just for that burger it was so good. My fish was too salty and my waiter suggested that I remove the skin, which I thought was too much work. My husband got the duck and while the meat was good it was just one leg so not much meat at all. The staff was wonderful. That's about it. I told them our thoughts and they gave us a free desert. The check was $207 so I think we should have enjoyed the food more. I can't recommend it. read more

Really enjoyed my dinner experience here. The ambiance is very cute and cozy. They have 2 buildings with a middle patio. Any of them are great options but I did like the indoor seating a bit more for intimacy. The main building is a hit louder and the 2nd building with the bar has a quieter vibe. Service was great and so was the food. The onion soup might have been my least favorite, although it was still good. I felt it was just a tad too sweet for what I normally expect in an onion soup. There wasn't enough onions inside but I did enjoy the amount of cheese they topped it with. My favorite was the duck leg. It was extremely tender and the sauce paired very well! The hash brown that came with it was a little salty. The sea bass was also very delicious, it came with green beans and had a great flavor profile. Good texture and not over/undercooked. very nice experience in georgetown, old school french all around. the dining room is narrow with white tablecloth tables and a bar at the back. there is a patio between the dining room and another larger bar that I believe takes walk ins. My friends and I came here for dinner when we were in town last weekend for a bachelorette. Definitely make a reservation if you plan to come here because the place was pretty small and filled up quickly. They had a lot of delicious sounding things on the menu so it was hard to decide what to get. I got a French martini to drink, which is one of my favorite drinks and I rarely see it on a menu. It was tasty but not the best I've ever had. I got the shrimp appetizer to start and then split the duck confit with my friend. The shrimp was tasty but the shrimp was a tiny bit mealy like they were overcooked. The polenta it came with was tasty and much too big of a portion to finish. If you're not a big eater, an appetizer might be enough for you because it was a good sized portion. The duck was super tender and delicious. I highly recommend getting this. Some of the others ordered the steak frites, the pesto pasta, and the French onion soup. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. Service was friendly and attentive so no complaints there. It had been many years since our last visit, and so we decided to return for some good old-fashion French food. The dinner started out well, but the dining room got quite loud by the time we finished (acoustics were not great on a Thursday night). I'd recommend the betteraves (although the Roquefort clumped together instead of being distributed) which had a nice composition of beets, lentils, and walnuts. The confit de canard, as others have mentioned is great - so tender and moist, completely unlike past ones I've had - with a delicious semi-sweet sauce. My husband found the scallops starter to be just okay (small, he felt scallops were limited relative to the other ingredients). Pot de creme for dessert was nice - not too heavy. Especially nice wine options (a Beaune pinot noir). The service left room for improvement however. It seemed a bit chaotic at times with servers bumping into each other all at once and a limited greeting upon arrival. I rarely take the time to write reviews but I knew I had to after having an amazing meal here! My friend and I were exploring Georgetown and stumbled upon this cozy restaurant. We walked in around 5pm on a Friday and they were all booked for the rest of the night, but luckily the hostess offered us seating at the tiny bar (definitely only big enough to seat 2). We had the betteraves (beet salad) as an appetizer and it was simple but refreshing. We weren't very hungry so we shared the moules frites (mussels) entree and it was DIVINE. Easily the best item of the night-I would come back just for that flavorful creamy sauce. What really made our experience was the service from our bartender Hernan! He always made sure our waters were filled and checked in on us often making sure we were always taken care of. He made an amazing French martini and also brought us extra bread.
