Relaxed and comfortable! I had the most amazing omelette. Cheddar cheese and xtra tomato - soft cooked. I don't know what they did, but it was absolutely delicious!!! Asked for onions in the home fries - amount unbelievable and loved it. My son had a bowl of matzoh ball soup (soup salty) but matzoh balls were far better than restaurants, diners and deli's in the area. We were there Wednesday night...and already texted my husband that we are going tonight!!! (Only 3 days later!) Late at night very nice to hear music from the kitchen. MUST COMPLIMENT OUR WAITRESS!!! So sweet and patient - it has never been so easy to order!!! Worth the drive from Cranford!!!!!!!!! REO, looking forward to dinner tonight!

With its extensive menu, long hours, and comfort-food focus, it has been a go-to spot for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for generations. Whenever I travel through New Jersey, I always make a point of having at least one Taylor Ham (the local slang for any brand of pork roll) meal. I especially love how Jersey diners serve it with sunny-side-up eggs laid right on top. I had visited my hometown the day before and was spending part of Sunday in Woodbridge before heading out later in the day. I decided to stop in for a late-morning Sunday breakfast. It had snowed the night before, but the streets and parking lot were well cleared. I walked in and sat at the counter. The waitress poured excellent diner coffee and took my order. Before long, my breakfast arrived: sunny-side-up eggs over pork roll, a generous portion of home fries, and rye toast. Everything was delicious and exactly what I was hoping for. The atmosphere is pure Jersey diner. There's even a celebrity photo gallery near the cash register area--and yes, you still get your check at the counter or table and pay on your way out. It was an excellent meal enjoyed on a crisp winter day in a classic New Jersey town with late-Victorian and early-20th-century railroad roots. A great meal on a great day.

As soon as we sat down, our server was incredibly welcoming and attentive. I asked him for a drink recommendation and told him what flavors I usually enjoy, and he immediately suggested something that ended up being absolutely perfect for me. The drink didn't take long at all to come out as well! Everyone at my table ordered burgers, and we were all impressed. The portions were generous, and the burgers were cooked just right. They were juicy, flavorful, and satisfying without feeling overly heavy. We paired them with fries and onion rings for the table, and both were sooo crispy and delicious. The restaurant itself is beautiful both outside and inside. It has a really inviting vibe, and you can tell they put effort into creating a space that feels stylish but still comfortable. When we arrived, it wasn't too busy, which made for a relaxed lunch experience. While we were there, near the bar area there was a group of people celebrating something with a DJ, and the energy over there looked like so much fun!! Overall, great service, delicious food, and a fun atmosphere. I'll absolutely be coming back!

Atmosphere: The Superior Diner is an older, cobblestone…read morebuilding. It's not a big, shiny, metallic building, but it stands out along the road. The inside of the Superior Diner has plenty of booths, tables, and a full-length bar. Coffee: The Superior Diner coffee was brewed hot and fresh and the waitress refilled it often. Good coffee, no complaints. Food: The menu is huge and there are plenty of breakfast, lunch, and dinner specials. In fact, the Superior Diner menu has the most specials of any diner I've been to in a while. I didn't know what I wanted but then saw the pork chop special and ultimately decided that's what I wanted. I've ordered diner specials a lot lately because they are cheaper and with more food! Anyway, the pork chop special came with soup, salad, and the meal. For my soup, I chose the lima bean soup. It was a red base with a little kick to it. I've never had lima bean soup and it was great. The salad was typical of a diner salad with nothing unique or unusual about it. The pork chops were delicious and were cooked well.  They weren't overcooked and were tender and juicy -- one of the better diner pork chops I've had recently. For my sides, I chose beets and they were good as well. Nothing unique or unusual, but they tasted good. Service: Our waitress at the Superior Diner was friendly and our food came out fast. She was one of the better waitresses I've had recently. There was another waitress who was holding loud conversations and it made it hard to hear anything. At one point, she was yelling something about her cats. Cost: For my pork chop special and coffee, the cost was $20. Would I Come Back? I liked the Superior Diner and it's a stereotypical New Jersey Diner. It's a great stop if you're heading down the shore and I would go back.

The prices are exorbitantly high, and the quality of the food is very quite poor. To be frank, it was unpleasant. The fries were undercooked and soggy. I opted for a turkey bacon and egg sandwich, as it was the least expensive option available. I had suggested to my family that we leave, but they were reluctant to appear impolite. I was eager to depart. The sandwich featured a well-cooked egg, undercooked bacon, and was served on an overly sweet roll, which resembled a hamburger bun (small). It was priced at $8.00, yet it came with no additional sides. My spouse ordered a Reuben sandwich, which also came with fries that were soggy and undercooked, priced at $18.99. My son chose a medium-well burger, but it arrived more on the rare side, and the fries were equally soggy, uncooked and unappetizing. The total for our meals, NOT excluding the tip, amounted to $56.23. My son barely touched his burger or the fries, while my husband consumed half of his Reuben but left the fries untouched. I took only two bites of my sandwich before deciding not to eat any more. My son had a coffee, and my husband ordered a Sprite. I had water. In summary, I will NOT be returning to this establishment. See pictures I zoom the eggs and nasty undercooked bacon. Also look at the menu for yourself!!!! CRAZY PRICES! I am sure the good reviews are probably his family members or friends because its NASTY FOOD & OVERPRICED!

I had no idea what to expect BUT so glad we stopped in. It's a mystery about portion sizes. We ordered a chicken noodle soup, potato pancake and a junior pastrami sandwich all to share! None of this was typical. The soup was plenty to split, the pancake the size of a personal pizza and the sandwich was huge for a junior. We took home leftovers of everything except the soup! My only disappointment was not regular priced matzah ball. I forgot to mention the pickle bar! So fun! This was worth the stop!

The portions here are absolutely legendary. A slice of cake is practically the size of your head. Order a "small" grilled chicken sandwich and you'll get enough chicken breast to feed a family. The BLT? An entire head of iceberg lettuce, enough bacon for four people, and what seems like an entire loaf of bread! You may experience a little sticker shock when you see the prices, but trust me--you need to come hungry! These portions are enormous, and you'll almost certainly be leaving with enough leftovers to keep you fed for days. When you consider how much food you're actually getting, the whole experience makes a lot more sense. It's unlike anything you'll experience anywhere else, and that's exactly what makes Harold's so much fun. And you absolutely cannot visit without checking out the Pickle Bar! They also have plenty of parking, lots of seating, basic ambiance and attentive staff. Whether you're a New Jersey native or just visiting, Harold's is definitely worth experiencing at least once!
