    #25. Meatball Sandwich $8.99
    Cathrin P C.

Burlingame only has two Vietnamese places and Cherimoya is the only one that has spring rolls -- for a steep price of $14 with tax. Sadly the rolls were mostly noodles and you get 4 slices of shrimp -- SLICES not whole. I can make these at home for way WAY less money so this is a bit of a ripoff. Order through kiosk and there wasn't a wait on a Thursday afternoon. They have casual no frills seating if you wanna eat your food there instead of taking it to go

    Shrimp fried rice.

No MSG should not mean bland. Ordered the shrimp friend rice against ny better judgement. No flavor other than the dash of salt and pepper. The shrimp has some kind of flavorless soy sauce. If you like fried rice , don't order this.

Couldn't even wait to take a photo before we ate.

Best bahn mi hands down. Just the perfect ratio of everything. Every time we can't decide what to eat, Cherimoya's got our back. Thank you!

Couldn't wait. Pork and garlic noodles. Smacks. Thai tea with lychee jelly.

The garlic noodles were bouncy and tasty. Service was quick and I took my order to go.

I was in the mood for a banh mi & ended up walking here based on a Yelp search for Banh Mi when I was at my hair appointment on Broadway & Capuchino St & it was a little farther than anticipated. It was my first solid meal of the day so I was famished when I arrived. As another Yelper said, service is practically non-existent as there is an iPad device to enter your order and no one to speak with. I ordered my Vietnamese ham sandwich and a Thai iced tea. After about 15 minutes, I heard my name called. A guy brought out my sandwich & tea & that was the only interaction with an employee. The Vietnamese ham sandwich featured a perfectly crispy bun, with ham & steamed pork, pickled daikon & cilantro. I requested no jalapeño because I'm allergic. Overall, it was a pretty good sandwich & I wolfed it down. My Thai iced tea was pretty good too.

One of the more fast casual options in downtown Burligame. Saw their menu and was drawn by the pricing. Extremely affordable in comparison to all the other food shops around. I love me a good deal. Menu options include curries, banh mi, noodles, etc. A few tables & chairs to dine in. There was no one there to greet us. Just a self serve ipad. Self explanatory & user friendly. We ordered their curries, one with veggies, the other with dumplings and the garlic noodles with fried tofu. The curry tastes like the boxed curry with 2 pcs of carrots and one chunk of potato. It was almost non existent. Came with a (cold) hard boiled egg on the side. Dumplings were okay. The garlic noodles are good. Have to eat them fast because it dries up rather quickly. Food took a while to be ready. $12-15 for an entree. Service was mediocre. But for the price, it'll do.

    Ham combo bahn mi

Bahn mi was pretty good! Surprisingly! Very satisfying, and made quickly. I would order again

First off let me say the service is non existent. I placed my order on the iPad outside and it literally took them half an hour and me ringing the bell multiple times to get my drink and food. How are you going to stay in business when there are no customers in line and you're not even preparing the food or answering your Google doorbell? Okay let's talk about their lackluster curry bowl and horrible lemonade. Not a fan of either. The rice curry tastes like something that as mildly warmed up in the microwave with cheap curry aftertaste and the lemonade was just sugar water and didn't have a nice acidic balance. I would have been better getting lemonade from Trader Joe's. I'm not sure how this place stays in business when they're always closed and when they are open they just don't care.

This has really gone down, waaaay down. Had a craving for a banh mi & went here today. Got a lemongrass chicken with pate and a chicken karaage curry with egg. Someone needs to tell them Japanese curry is not sauce witha mountain of dry curry powder slopped onto it. And the banh mi--if there was any chicken it, I'd needed a microscope. Not good at all, and the lack of pickled veggies, despite I ordered extra ... the baguette was fresh but that was about it. Never going back.

    Chicken egg rolls vermicelli bowl

Was skeptical to try this place out because Cherimoya didn't seem like an authentic Vietnamese place.. but boy was I impressed! We ordered the pork butter garlic noodles and chicken egg rolls vermicelli bowl. The pork was seasoned really well and the garlic noodles were cooked perfectly. Together it was a good meal item. On the other hand, the chicken egg rolls vermicelli bowl was okay, the egg rolls were a bit dry but dunk it in the fish sauce and you're good to go!

Bahn Mi's have always seen incredible, honestly my favorite Bahn Mi's anywhere. Just some of the best, easiest Vietnamese in the area.

Customary at most Vietnamese restaurants, you get your food with minimal check ins and not even a plate clearing until the bill comes. This was NOT the case here. There service was definitely in the A/A+ range! I ordered on my phone via QR code, but there was an option to order in person from a server. I ordered many items to try out. I ordered spring rolls, crispy salt and pepper wings, grilled pork banh mi, beef dac beit pho, and a Thai iced tea. Thai Iced Tea was pretty good. Grade: A I thought the Spring Rolls were decent, but what made them even better was the peanut sauce! I always hate when the peanut sauce is watery and this was far from that! An excellent gooey peanut sauce and maybe one of the best I've had fpr consistency. Grade: A- Crispy salt and pepper wings definitely had an incredible crunch. They were up there in crunchiness. The drumettes were meaty which I appreciated. They were well seasoned also. I think I need to try their other wings before crowning these, but some of the cruncheist wings I've had for sure. Grade: A- Beef Dac Biet Pho had some real high quality meat in it. I had options in noodle and my go-to for any pho spot is the egg noodles. I wish it had more bo vien in it, but I appreciated the combo of meats. The broth seemed authentic, but I wanted a tad more flavor out of it without adding sauces. Overall, the pho grade was a B+ bordering an A-. The star of the show was the grilled pork banh mi. The meat was tender and saucy. In fairness I asked for extra pickles and mayo, but I was very impressed. The bread had the crispy crunch we all look for but minus the stale bread. The breads soft yet crispness made it seem as if it just came out of the oven! I'm going to dub this as the best I've had in the Bay Area! There I said it! Grade: A+ Everyone who ordered the sampler seemed very pleased at other tables, I would definitely try that. Also, want to try the other banh mis and noodle options for the pho. There was a nice vibe at this place. I didn't feel rushed although they do close fairly early at 8pm. The server's mom is the one cooking in the kitchen and I appreciated the family feeling at this place. They do have a newer location in San Francisco that has a DJ Friday nights that I may check out. I believe the server said that they are open til 2am on most nights, but I may have misheard her. Feel free to Yelp that location. My only disappointment was that I really love papaya salad and it was not an option. I may make this my go-to spot from now on, but as a Yelper, we all know we will keep trying new places. This will be the one I continue to frequent. Well done Pho de Nguyen!

Upon getting seated, she asked if we wanted a plastic water cup, regular bowl, and plastic utensils for my toddler. I highly prefer being environmentally friendly, so I only opted for the reusable bowl. I truly appreciate her asking me before automatically bringing everything. I ordered the Pho Tai Gau (rare steak and brisket) with thin pho noodles, split bowl with extra noodles to share with my toddler. The meat is super thin and tender! Although we ordered "extra" noodles, it didn't feel like extra compared to a normal bowl, but my toddler wanted more soup than noodles so it worked out. We also got the imperial rolls appetizer. It was tasty but I felt like it was a bit overdone, because it hurt the roof of my mouth haha, but I do prefer it to be crispy than soggy so I'm not complaining! Just be aware :) Nowadays, my best eating out meals are those in which my toddler enjoyed and allowed her to be on her best behavior. Our server checked up on us multiple times (never had to flag her down) and took great care of us. My toddler even let her pick her up! So thank you for the great service!

We started with a Combination Appetizer which, among other things, included minced shrimp on sugarcane, but I was only after the imperial rolls. Tasty pork filling in a sufficiently-bubbly wrapping. The soup in my Pho Ga had as much flavor as you'd expect from a clear broth. It had a hint of garlic & onion, I added an obscene amount of lime & sriracha to enhance the taste. A solid bowl with white chicken breast & slightly al dente noodles but the pho restaurants I frequent have more complexity to its broth.
