    Chicken in black bean sauce
    Emily C.

Glad I stumbled upon this place! I went for lunch on a weekday and there was no wait. The lunch special menu is great -- it comes with soup, and salad and rice. I got the chicken in black bean sauce, and it was really good! The chicken was tender, and the flavor was spot on. The string beans were crispy and fresh too. Overall, a solid lunch spot and staff was very friendly. Would definitely come back!

Egg Foo Yung with Chicken the gravy came on the side in a nice container. If you're a fan of this dish like I am give it try.

These folks have some tasty Chinese cuisine! I do not get around to Burlingame often enough and I know I'm missing out on some great food in that area. I did discover on Yelp this little restaurant that's been around a while and gets great ratings from Yelpers. I did get around to order delivery recently from these lovely folks, it was pretty good! Yelpers once again did not disappoint with their high regards to Young Can Wok. Great service from what I read and a cute restaurant there in Burlingame on the main drag. I ordered the Broadway Fried Rice with prawns, Chow Fun with beef and Egg Foo Yung with chicken. Everything was pretty good and if you're a fan of Egg Foo Yung like me, it's pretty massive and does come with a side of gravy and includes fresh veggies in the foo yung and nice chunks of chicken. There are several ways to order aside from chicken. The fried rice has several options depending on your cravings. I ordered the fried rice with prawns and came with big fluffy, plump shrimps and veggies, really good and not greasy. The chow fun is your basic big flat rice noodles, stir fried with little chunks of beef, you can order other options other than beef. All the entrees were piping hot with fresh ingredients. All entrees were packed with care in my order. They included chopsticks, forks, napkins. Give them a try if you're in the area. I will definitely return.

Bangkok Basil Beef added green beans, spicy garlic prawns/sole

Enjoyed another wonderful dinner at young can wok. Basil beef (we added green beans) and spicy garlic prawns/sole fillet celery, carrots zucchini, snow peas, onions and mushrooms, and brown rice. All so good. Love Calvin and all of the employees there. Chinese new year 2 weeks long come on in. Or, anytime you want delicious Chinese food

A cute little corner restaurant. Had my Chinese friends with me so they helped with ordering as usual told them as long as I get my string beans and eggplant I will be a happy camper. The owner/staff were friendly and was willing to make my request of string beans and eggplant combo. Turned out super amazing, all the food we had was tasty and not too oily! I will definitely come back!

    Cockroach during my meal

Food is good service good Ambience is alright How during my meal a cockroach crawled onto the bench I was sitting on . Meaning the place is not kept clean I will be contacting the health dept Such a shame as this is a convenient location and right l down the street from where I live .

    Sesame Chicken Lunch Special ($15.95)

A nice little family owned Chinese restaurant that I went to during a lunch break recently. It's in Broadway in Burlingame so you do have to pay for parking and there are parking lots nearby. The restaurant is in a corner and it's pretty clean inside which is a plus. Service is solid as well. You know what you're in for when you see chopsticks AND a fork set on the table. What I ordered: - Sesame Chicken Lunch Special ($15.95) with Corn Chowder Soup included - Mu Shu with Pork ($17.50) - Loose Leaf Tea ($4.25/Pot) You're probably wondering why their tea is even notable, but it's mainly because they don't use cheap tea bags and use actualy tea leaves to steep. In that case I consider paying for the tea worth it and I'm not tea expert, but the tea was really fragrant. It was surprisingly better tea than most authentic Chinese restaurants I have been to. My dad ordered the Mu Shu with pork and the plate with the filling of pork and veggies was absolutely loaded. If you rarely get to try Mu Shu then this is a great spot to try it out. The wrap comes comes in a container that said "tortillas" which was funny, but they were pretty good and had the perfect soft texture. I also ordered the Sesame Chicken Lunch Special for myself which comes with white rice and a soup of your choice which I opted for the corn chowder instead of the hot and sour. Their soups are pretty solid. The sesame chicken actually had a nice crisp and a good glaze to it. It wasn't really anything special and was really standard, but it was good enough flavor wise. The broccoli on the side was flavorless and undercooked although that was expected. The side salad was a little too heavy on the dressing. Overall a pretty solid lunch. I would say this is a pretty good option for some authentic Chinese food while also having your standard Americanized Chinese dishes too. While also having fairly reasonable prices.

At first, I thought it leaned more toward a fusion American style, but after trying a few dishes, I'd say it's not 100% authentic, yet still pretty close. The pork soup XLB was really tasty, you can tell the meat is high quality with no "porky" taste, and the broth is light with a subtle sweetness. The popcorn chicken was a bit bland, but very meaty with a thin, crispy coating, which I liked. The pan-fried buns were juicy, with a nicely cooked, crispy bottom. The braised beef was a bit too soft for my liking and lacked texture. The braised beef noodle soup was decent, the beef pieces were a good size but slightly dry, while the noodles were chewy and well-cooked, though they felt more like spaghetti than traditional noodles. Service really stood out, our server was attentive and welcoming throughout the meal. Also appreciated that they still let us try the seafood dumplings even though they were accidentally cooked incorrectly. Overall, generous portions for the price and excellent service. :)

Service was minimal. We helped ourselves to the pitcher of water on the table. After looking at the menu on the table, we placed our order by scanning a QR code. Since we're not too hungry. We ordered one appetizer and one noodle dish to share. The special mix salad came pretty quickly. We ordered "less spicy", and it had the perfect amount of heat. All the ingredients tasted fresh and the dish had a bit of everything we wanted to try. I liked the tofu skin the best, and my daughter loved the crunchy cucumber. It would be even better if they included lotus roots as well. It took a little while for the house special beef noodle soup (less spicy) to arrive, but it was totally worth the wait. It came piping hot. The broth was very flavorful, with the right amount of red pepper. It wasn't oily at all. The beef was super tender. I loved the texture of the noodles, and the beef to noodle ratio was not bad. A really solid dish. Would love to come back again to try their other dishes, especially their xiao long bao.

If they cut it thinner will be better the flavor is good Tomatoes egg & stir fried minced pork noodle, we got round noodle, the noodle is good qq, the meat taste about the same as the burger meat and it's not minced it looks so big. The egg and tomato needs more tomato.
