Fresh Spring Rolls Pork & Shrimp with peanut sauce.
    Lloyd C.

Pho Little Saigon is located in the Marina Plaza. The parking in this small plaza is challenging. I stopped into get a snack and something to drink. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior was cozy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You can order via kiosk for takeout but they do offer table service and a cashier who could take your order also. *Fresh Spring Rolls Pork & Shrimp - good fresh ingredients and the peanut sauce was good. I forgot to add some sambal oelek for that heat. *Ice Coffee W/Condense Milk - decent, smooth & creamy.

We consistently come here for our Cietnamese Ho and rice vermicelli plates and fresh spring rolls - we sometimes eat in restaurant but typically we go and pickup and eat on our deck - the same go north in pretty good and the bowl is filling - the fresh spring rolls are delicious, and the pork plates (or ice or vermicelli) are also great with as much Nuoc Cham as they'll give me yum yum yum - our comfort food - I can never finish my whole bowl or plate - it's great for lunch or even breakfast the next day! (Can't always wait for lunch!)

Ordered the #2 pho on the menu. I got my chopsticks and poured hoisin sauce and sriracha into a dipping bowl. I turned around and waiter already had my pho ready! The broth was so flavorful! Will bring my hubby next time for his stamp of approval!

Everything I tried (three visits) was really good. They kindly made me a stir fry with beef and vegetables that is not on the menu. The phó is very good; vermicelli noodle bowl also very good. Banh mi too. Helpful, attentive staff. They gave me some great soup once, and gave me a sample of fried chicken as well.

This is one of my go-to pho spots. The soup is clean and flavorful. The meat and noodle portions are good. I also get the avocado smoothie, which is creamy and not too sweet. Sometimes they use unripe avocados, so the flavor doesn't fully come through. Food comes out very fast, and it's definitely a fast casual restaurant. Pricing is fair but a little more expensive than other spots. Would recommend if you're looking for pho in the area.

Amazing food and service! The owners were very attentive to our group and provided quick service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is very homey, giving off nostalgic vibes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Pho tasted great--had a lot of flavor with tender meat. The food was cheaply priced, I'm very happy with my experience! Will definitely go back :)

Was craving some beef pho and ordered from here because it's really close to home and I'm tryna eat like now lmao Ordered the House Special Combination Beef and Beef Balls to have it delivered home. Once it came, noticed the packaging was secured and the soup was HOT and wasn't concerned about it cooling down once it arrived. Today I'm not too concerned about minor details, I was honestly just hella hungry and wanted a simple bowl of pho. And that's what I got, a simple bowl of pho. My fatass wishes they had more beef balls, but aside from that, it's good. My thoughts might be a little different if I went inside to eat, but that's for another time.

I would have tipped over 15% however the tip is calculated off of my order, the sales tax AND the custom fee.
    Ling L.

The food is 3 stars (convenience) however their deceit in their tipping structure is little to be desired. Payment is done at the front, no issue. They'll turn the screen quickly for you to add the tip. For those that like to review their bill, you'll need to request to see it and the owner will make a face when you ask, no issue. They add a 3% custom fee aka credit card fee, no real issue since times are tough. However, the calculated tip is on: 1. your order 2. sales tax 3. and the custom fee! That's tipping outrageously for service that is not well performed. It is editable so use this review to help inform your decision. While tipping is discretionary, tip is added to the order, though nowadays, business owners are adding tip on the sales tax, and in this case, the custom fee! We are all in tough times --these owners are greedy. See photos for reference.

I…read morelooked on Yelp and sure enough I found a new favorite place:) L O C A T I O N Gao Viet is located in the middle of downtown and it's always busy there, no matter where you're trying to go. Luckily for us, we found street parking pretty close to the restaurant, but there's also a parking garage right next door which makes it really convenient. A M B I A N C E Upon arrival you are greeted by friendly staff. We didn't have reservations, but were seated promptly. It must've been because we arrived shortly after opening because after ordering our food, we observed customers starting to wait around for tables. The interior is gorgeous. The paintings, chandeliers and modern minimalism were perfect. They also have a cute little bar upstairs that seems like a fun place to hang out for a few drinks. F O O D Now for the most important part... THE FOOD!! I don't think I'm ever going back to the other Vietnamese spot after trying this place out. There's just no comparison. For starters we got the Marrow Cracker which is crispy sticky rice topped with pork belly, beef marrow, onions, fried shallots and bbq sauce. We were on the fence whether to grab an appetizer or not, but I'm glad we went forward with it. Crispy rice, tender pork belly, melt in your mouth bone marrow, savory bbq sauce!! Yummy!!! I ordered the Filet Mignon Pho and not only was it delicious, it was hands down the best bowl of pho I've had in the SF to Peninsula area. The noodles were perfect. I usually hate when the noodles are super thin and just fall apart in the broth, but that wasn't the case here. I also noticed how they don't serve bean sprouts or basil which I didn't even notice until writing the review just now. The bone broth itself was so flavorful that I didn't need to add anything to it besides lime and of course some jalapeños:) My cousin ordered the Chubby Pho which is basically the same thing as the Filet Mignon plus tendon and marrow. I ordered tea and although I prefer loose leaf tea and in a pot, this one was pretty good for what it was Can't wait to stop by again and try all their other fabulous looking dishes and cocktails!! If you're craving Vietnamese and are wondering if to stop by this place, stop thinking and just go... Or don't so it doesn't become too popular and overcrowded lol. Fun fact that I learned just now: Gao Viet owns the same restaurant I was talking about in South San Francisco... Wow!!!! Dishes must be from a different Vietnam region or something because these broths and flavors are wayyyy better. Appetizer, 2x Pho, Tea: $80

We arrived right at opening to put our names on the Yelp waitlist and only waited about 30 minutes before being seated. Once we were seated, the food came out quickly, and our servers were very attentive throughout our meal. There are both upper- and lower-floor seating areas. The dining space is definitely cramped, but they do a great job maximizing the amount of seating available. We ordered the Garlic Noodles 3-Way, Mama's Claypot, Bo Ne, and Pho. Everything was amazing! Gao really captures the essence and comforting, homey feeling of Vietnamese food while elevating it with high-quality ingredients. If I had to pick a star dish, it would definitely be the Bo Ne. You can really taste the quality of the beef, which pairs well with the other parts of the dish. It also comes out on a traditional sizzling plate, so A+. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience and would love to come back. It is definitely on the pricier side, especially compared to Vietnamese food you can get locally, but you are paying for the quality of the ingredients. If you're planning to visit, I would definitely recommend and get there early and to join the Yelp waitlist!

That really threw me off, especially because I saw a Yelp review before coming that showed bean sprouts with the pho. Secondly, they served my pho with thick, flat noodles instead of the traditional rice noodles you normally expect. I politely asked the waitress if those were the only noodles they offered, and she told me they also have the traditional pho noodles.. you just have to request them. I've honestly never had to ask for regular pho noodles anywhere else, so that was really strange to me. The broth was also very watered down and lacked flavor. The chicken was dark and honestly didn't even look like chicken, which made me not want to eat it. I took two bites of my bowl and ended up leaving very disappointed. I also want to mention that parking was a hassle. There's very limited street parking, which made the experience even more frustrating. I understand that every pho restaurant has its own recipe, and I'm very open-minded when it comes to trying different places. I'm not a picky eater at all, but this experience was just way off from what I'd expect when ordering pho. I'm honestly not sure how this place has so many positive reviews based on the experience I had. The one positive thing I can say is that the customer service was good. The staff was kind and attentive throughout my visit. Unfortunately, the food itself was a 0/10 for me, and I wouldn't come back.

Beverages: Sake Flight - we got the daily japanese flight which had a fun mix of sakes from japan two filtered sakes and one unfiltered giving us a range of tastes and textures Food: Vegetable Spring Roll - good, very light and refreshing, classic rice paper wrapper filled with crisp fresh lettuce, bell pepper, radishes, and carrots, served with a thick creamy peanut sauce with nice savory nutty notes a great starter Japanese Style Chili Garlic Poached Chicken - excellent, served chilled, tender poached chicken in a delicious spicy garlicy soy sesame dressing, served with cucumber which provided a nice cool refreshing bite, really well balanced with great depth of flavor Soy milk pho with chicken & vegetables- good, a very unique and interesting take on pho, broth has a subtle soy milk flavor with a nice depth from the chicken broth, served with flat rice noodles which made this a lighter dish, chicken in this was also very tender and juicy, the yuzu kosho added a nice subtle citrusy spice to the broth, noodles had a slight bite wish it was cooked just a touch longer, flavors were really balanced as well with lots of complexity Service was good, really quick and efficient, staff was warm and friendly and were knowledgeable about the menu with solid recommendations. Staff refilled our water throughout the meal and checked in periodically. Pacing of dishes also felt just right not much of a wait between courses. Boy was I happy we ended up coming here for dinner! Small things to note, the restaurant isn't the biggest so smaller parties are probably best. They were able to accommodate a table of 8 during lunch but probably if you came right when they open. After that, you would definitely need to wait. For dinner, we ordered the Rin-Tei Plate ($28), Keema curry ($23), and the Creamy Soy Milk Pho with Poached Yuzu Chicken and greens ($25). The Rin-Tei Plate consists of Papaya Salad, Shrimp Fresh Spring roll, Calamari, and Thai fried chicken. We both enjoyed the sampler plate, specifically the Thai fried chicken and calamari. The papaya salad and spring roll were good and fresh when paired with the fried items. But the flavors and perfect crispiness of the fried chicken and the calamari were 10/10. The Keema Curry was beautifully plated. The flavors were distinct and was not spicy (so a safe choice especially if you cannot handle spice or for the kiddos). The minced meat mixed in the curry topped with an egg was delicious. However, our favorite was the Soy Milk Pho. I've never had soy milk pho before and now I cannot stop thinking about it. When you think milk, you might think super heavy and creamy. But this was quite the opposite, in the BEST WAY. The flavors of the ginger and yuzu with the broth was AMAZING. If you had to choose just 1 item, this would be the one. My friend and I both left feeling satisfied and loved how it did not feel heavy leaving (aka not a ton of oils and msg). I had since a great experience I brought my family back for lunch a few weeks later to celebrate my grandma's birthday. For lunch, I was able to try the green curry dish and the cold sesame tantan pho (in addition to other dishes). Both were equally yummy. You honestly cannot go wrong with anything from here! I will definitely be back again to share the love of this place to others!

Customary at most Vietnamese restaurants, you get your food with minimal check ins and not even a plate clearing until the bill comes. This was NOT the case here. There service was definitely in the A/A+ range! I ordered on my phone via QR code, but there was an option to order in person from a server. I ordered many items to try out. I ordered spring rolls, crispy salt and pepper wings, grilled pork banh mi, beef dac beit pho, and a Thai iced tea. Thai Iced Tea was pretty good. Grade: A I thought the Spring Rolls were decent, but what made them even better was the peanut sauce! I always hate when the peanut sauce is watery and this was far from that! An excellent gooey peanut sauce and maybe one of the best I've had fpr consistency. Grade: A- Crispy salt and pepper wings definitely had an incredible crunch. They were up there in crunchiness. The drumettes were meaty which I appreciated. They were well seasoned also. I think I need to try their other wings before crowning these, but some of the cruncheist wings I've had for sure. Grade: A- Beef Dac Biet Pho had some real high quality meat in it. I had options in noodle and my go-to for any pho spot is the egg noodles. I wish it had more bo vien in it, but I appreciated the combo of meats. The broth seemed authentic, but I wanted a tad more flavor out of it without adding sauces. Overall, the pho grade was a B+ bordering an A-. The star of the show was the grilled pork banh mi. The meat was tender and saucy. In fairness I asked for extra pickles and mayo, but I was very impressed. The bread had the crispy crunch we all look for but minus the stale bread. The breads soft yet crispness made it seem as if it just came out of the oven! I'm going to dub this as the best I've had in the Bay Area! There I said it! Grade: A+ Everyone who ordered the sampler seemed very pleased at other tables, I would definitely try that. Also, want to try the other banh mis and noodle options for the pho. There was a nice vibe at this place. I didn't feel rushed although they do close fairly early at 8pm. The server's mom is the one cooking in the kitchen and I appreciated the family feeling at this place. They do have a newer location in San Francisco that has a DJ Friday nights that I may check out. I believe the server said that they are open til 2am on most nights, but I may have misheard her. Feel free to Yelp that location. My only disappointment was that I really love papaya salad and it was not an option. I may make this my go-to spot from now on, but as a Yelper, we all know we will keep trying new places. This will be the one I continue to frequent. Well done Pho de Nguyen!

SCORE. Add in the cilantro/green onion for a flavor explosion. -Ordered one of the combo noodles + 2 sides. For my sides, I got a blanched bok choy and a fried gyoza. The bok choy was needed to help cut the spiciness of the soup and to add veggies b/c without it, you'd just be having carbs, beef, and soup. Gyoza was a win too. Service: FAST and friendly, just how I like my non-fine dining restaurant experiences. You scan a QR code at the table and then choose an english/chinese option. If you have questions, you can ask the staff, but there isn't a TON of options to choose from, so make it easy on yourself and order a noodle soup. Ambiance: Ample seating at 1:30pm on a Sunday.
