The food is great here but the parking can be difficult. There are parallel parking spots on the side of the building if needed. Be careful because you cannot drive to the back of the building, that is the Starbucks drive through and there is no way out unless you want to order coffee and wait for it so be careful not to get trapped. They accommodated a large group I had once with ease, split checks easily and everyone enjoyed the food. Today I got a chicken doner wrap which was delicious but a little messy because while it comes wrapped in paper, the ends of the wrap bread are not tucked in well. I'll be back though for more of their yummy dishes.
The food is soooo good. Everything so tasty. The tea was perfection and the hot sauce they bring out with the bread could go on so many things. Spicy but the perfect spice.
After visiting Turkey last winter, the desire to find a local and authentic Turkish restaurant has recently been on my mind. Chef's Table was our choice and it deserved a Chef's kiss. The eggplant starter was a good way to fire up our tastebuds. For entrees, I went with the Mixed Gill for one and wifey added the Iskender Kabob, which we just ended up pushing to the middle of the table to share. The combination of spiced meats and vegetables was delicious and worth the try. The Yelp pictures show a full on bakery, however this is misleading because the extensive selections are actually at the restaurant owner's other place, La Cafe, and not here. So we passed on dessert and opted to drive another 10 minutes away to Baklava Bakery for a wider selection of choices. The inside of the restaurant is a bit small and modest, but comfortable enough to enjoy a hearty meal.
The food here is amazing and SOO flavorful! We got the lamb chops for around $30 which comes with 4 lamb chops, rice, and a salad. Definitely a bit more expensive than I would have preferred. We had 2 orders of the lamb chops and we noticed that some pieces were just wayyyy smaller than others. I don't think $30 is justiced for 4 small, uneven pieces but they did taste really good and cooked well. The hummus was also really good, and fresh. One of the better house made hummuses I've had. It only came with the hummus so we had to ask for more bread with the hummus. There was only 1 server when we went and all the tables were full so service was really really slow. I did like the interior decor of the resteraunt, it felt very calm and relaxing. Overall, the food was really good but way too expensive. It was nearly $100 for 2 of us.
LOCATION: Super pretty, well-decorated spot in an unassuming location very close to 410. The place is not very big, but feels comfortably intimate with a nice vibe. Service was great with very friendly people. FOOD: Starting with the bread and ezme dip is perfect. It was delicious for a free starter. Slightly spicy, exceedingly savory, and a good richness with the olive oil. Mains that my wife and I had were both delicious. The Turkish bread they use for the pides is just phenomenal. You can eat it by itself, but the cheese and meat just take it to another level. The lamb shish was also so good. Meat was not very gamey and was just CRAZY tender. Salad was mot bad either, but the meat stole the show. Plus, good portions allowed my wife to have leftovers which were so good the next day. 100% recommend Chef's Table. We are excited to go back and try more stuff
Our server, Talha, was fantastic and took the time to walk us through the menu and break down the options, which we really appreciated. The complimentary homemade bread and dipping sauce were amazing to start. We tried the Chicken Döner Pide (their specialty pizza). A must-try! & the chicken Tava (stew) was so incredibly flavorful. I took leftovers of the chicken Tava home and was literally dreaming about it later... it was that good. This is definitely my new go-to spot in town!
Had high hopes but this place falls short. Dont order through seamless like I did. They don't use them anymore and when you get there they don't even know you ordered and have to wait while they make it. Food didn't have much flavor to me. For the price I'd expect my socks to be knocked off. Unfortunately not worth it to me. At least I can say I tried it. Can you?
We really enjoyed our dinner here. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with beautiful Turkish lamps and a relaxed, friendly vibe. The staff were so kind and attentive, making the experience even better. I ordered the veggie casserole, which was a perfect vegan option -- hearty, flavorful, and full of fresh vegetables. My husband had the mixed grill for one along with the baba ghanoush, and everything was cooked perfectly with great smoky flavor. The warm bread that comes to the table is incredible and pairs beautifully with the dips. Reservations are definitely a good idea during peak hours (like Friday night) because it fills up quickly. Overall, delicious food, great service, and such a welcoming atmosphere. We'll absolutely be back!
It's was okay. My favorite thing was probably the complimentary bread and dip. Service was good. The had some beautiful light fixtures.
Well, what a delightful treat! San Antonio finally has an authentic Mediterranean restaurant that's good! The food was super fresh and came out piping hot. Every dish was packed with flavor including my friend's dish, chicken tava. I really enjoyed their Babaganoush with the deliciously hot bread that came with it. So yummy it has my mouth watering as I type this. Service was excellent. Attentive and prompt. Highly recommend checking this place out.
Nice clean cozy restaurant. With limited seating, and delicious clean food. They are able to accommodate larger parties as well. When we arrived a large family was seated and this did not cause a delay in our order. This was my first time trying Turkish food, the combination of flavors were paired so well together. The service was great. Our waiter was very attentive. My only disappointment was canned and bottled drinks.

After a couple of tries to fit this restaurant into our family schedule, we finally got there this weekend. My wife, who is not an adventurous eater, joined my son and me with hopes of enjoying a delicious dessert at the Turkish Delight next door. Both places are owned by the same folks, but operate independently. We ate our meal in Chef's Table, then moved to Turkish Delight for dessert. Both places are decorated very nicely. There are a lot of tables with natural cut tree trunk tops. There are interesting Turkish art pieces on the walls, and the music that was playing was exotic and enchanting. We all ordered iced tea to drink. It was very well brewed with a full bodied flavor a lot of places don't have anymore. At the same time our tea came, a server put a loaded basket of bread on the table and a small dish of a delicious dipping sauce. I made the mistake of eating a piece of the bread and felt full before my actual meal arrived. All three of us ordered something different. You can see them in the pictures. Everybody liked their food. Mine was the Iskender Kebab. The pile of meat was absolutely huge. It was on top of buttery squares of toasted bread. They had soaked up the juices and gotten kind of soggy, but had crispy edges. The result was an insanely delicious mouthfeel that I really liked. I only ate about half of it, it was so filling. The Turkish Delights Coffee Shop was amazing. They had interesting large portions of cake on display. There were all different shapes and colors. They were absolutely beautiful. My wife opted for a personal-sized chocolate cake. It had layers of cake with thick chocolate mousse between them. She loved it, but had to bring half of it home. My son got a Dubai chocolate bar, which turned out to be chocolate with a pistachio filling. He didn't know it would have the filling and was a little disappointed. I had a HUGE slice of pistachio cake. It was a beautiful green with chocolate and fruit decorations on top. I really enjoyed it, although I also had to bring most of it home. I will definitely be back to both of these wonderful places. However, I am really anxious to hit up the Turkish Delight to try some other goodies with a nice strong cup of coffee. read more

We finally took the plunge and tried it out, and wow, it blew us away! Everything was fantastic--from the top-notch service to the inviting ambiance, and let's not forget the incredible food quality. The plates are huge and absolutely scrumptious! What an experience! We will comeback for sure! read more

We were greeted by a friendly host upon arrival at Chef's Table Turkish Mediterranean Grill. We ordered the Doner Pide, which was cheesy with a crispy outside and tender inside. The doner was well-seasoned and cooked perfectly--absolutely delicious, though a little heavy, so bring your appetite if you plan to pair it with an entrée. We also tried the Lamb & Beef Doner entrée. The fresh, colorful salad that came with it had a tasty dressing, possibly with pomegranate, though I can't say for certain. The lamb and beef doner had a texture reminiscent of roast, well-seasoned and very enjoyable. The décor of the restaurant was inviting, the service was attentive, and the overall experience reminded me of my travels in Turkey. I'd recommend Chef's Table Turkish Mediterranean Grill to anyone wanting an authentic Turkish meal. read more

Incredible. Best Mediterranean food I've had in Texas. Make sure to get the four cold appetizer with the babaga, hummus, red pepper and beet dips. That platter is worth a Michelin star. First time im not thinking "ugh that needs more lemon or garlic or salt" - I'm just enjoying that they did it right! Chicken swarma (they call doner) and kebab (tawook) was my favorite of the meats. Great portion sizes too. Hole in the wall place not there for the vibe youre there for some bomb food. Please come to north austin! read more
On a Wednesday evening after being on the computer all day, my wife and I finally got hungry and wanted dinner different from our normal routine. I've been wanting to try the food at The Chef's Table only because I've read about it and it's literally in our backyard so off we went for a dinner adventure. The place had a few diners and we got seated immediately. We looked over the menu and to be honest, I've studied it online so the food was almost familiar except for tasting it. We split an order of Lentil soup, which was lukewarm at best. I wanted it hot because it was a cold night. Anyway, we ordered our entrees and my wife wanted their chicken Pide and I ordered the Beef Kava. The Pide is like a pizza shaped like a boat thats loaded with flavor of high quality cheese and their chicken sliced thinly that nestled in the gooey delicious cheese! I got half a slice and it was tasty, hot and delicious! My dinner came in hot too - just like the chicken Pide. The mixture of exotic spices, tasty beef and the butter rice made for a very satisfying dinner. I had no idea I love Turkish food! It is delightful! The ambiance is warm and inviting. There were a few tables there and the kitchen is right in the middle of it all. You can see the chef prepare your order. I prefer hot food to be served as soon as it leaves the chef's expert hands. This is the way it should be. Overall, I love the place and although I loved my dinner, it didn't love me. I had a little trouble sleeping that night as I burped the spices back! Not fun! When we go back, I'll eat their less spicy food or ask the chef to tone down the spices! Nah! read more

Yay! The service and food are still excellent, but I'm very sorry I did not get the döner sandwich again. Papa wanted the Adana kebab, but I reminded him that he found it too spicy. It totally isn't spicy, but he has gotten very sensitive as he ages. So he order the same döner pide that I ordered. It was yummy, rich, with lots of meats. The bread itself was outstanding. But it was huge! Enough for two people easily. I still adore the mystery red pepper dip and the restaurant kindly gave Papa some cacik to cool the flavours. Best cacik ever!! This restaurant is still on my San Antonio rotation when I'm in town, but maybe not the tingles I had the first time. read more

Where do I start . . . This place is like a whole in the wall, and we all know those are the best. If you blink you'll miss it, but when you walk in, it is absolutely gorgeous. I love how rich in culture it is. They aren't just serving you food, but an experience. The decor is gorgeous and really makes you feel like you are in a little piece of Turkey, if just for a moment. The smell when you walk in immediately makes your palette get excited! And with so many options, we jumped in and ordered more than we could eat, but the kids were happy to get the leftovers. While we were looking at the menu they brought us some fresh baked bread with a delicious dipping sauce that had olive oil, lemon juice, peppers, and over 20 spices, it was amazing! We ordered the 4 cold appetizers for $13.99 (I think), we got the hummus (perfect), babaganoush (amazing), cacik (so refreshing), and muammara (superb). For hot starters we ordered the crispy filo rolls, filo dough stuffed with feta, mozzarella, parsley and dill. (insanely delicious) We also ordered some falafel, which was fried perfectly, seasoned perfectly, and paired perfectly topped with any of the cold appetizers. And if that wasn't enough, we also ordered the cheese pide, which basically looks like a pizza boat with no sauce. This was amazing, especially when you add some muammara on it! Lastly, for an entree we shared the chicken doner with rice and salad. Honestly, nothing was bad. Everything was so delicious and perfect I'm desperate to go back. The "only" thing that made me sad is that they do not serve Turkish tea, just coffee. A Turkish tea would've given this the magic tough to wash it all down. The service was great, they are attentive but not bothersome. They also told us that there is a location in Helotes and they DO serve the Turkish tea so I will be making that trip, hopefully they are just as good as the Babcock location! read more

I like the Mediterranean feel with beautiful chandeliers and wooden tables that appear to be hand crafted. The service was amazing! Our server made some suggestions as it was our first time to visit. The food, oh goodness, it was delicious! The hubs got the lamb shank and for myself it was essentially a Mediterranean pizza with a white cheese and sesame crust, with a meat of the servers choice. Next door was the yummiest end to dinner! read more
This is good food, great service, clean place and great ambience! It's like a hidden gem on this part of Babcock Road (almost 410) with a name that doesn't really gives you a clue about the type of food they serve. First time to try Turkish food and we like it so much and plans to come back again in the future. Mediterranean food always taste fresh and deliciously healthy and Chef's Table never disappoints. Talha (at least that's the name on our check) was very good with his customer service skills and even the gentleman that received and sat us to our table was also warm. Enjoyed my chicken shish and even took home half for my lunch the next day. Serving is generous and prepared fast and it's really good. Love the bread they served with a matching red muammara (similar to a spiced-up marinara sauce) dip. Just hope they make sure to keep their bread basket looking clean and presentable since the cloth lining looks dirty as if it's been used multiple times. That took one less star from this rating. They could at least add a waxed paper layer before putting the bread on the basket or at least make sure not to use slovenly looking bread basket liner. It seems like it's replaceable, so they should see to it to monitor these basket liners for sanitation and hygiene. Their city sanitation rating seem to be not justified with these dirty looking bread basket liners. We hope next time we visit, these would look much cleaner and more professional. read more

This was our first time going to this location! We love the Helotes location and we were in the area so we decided to take my parents here who are from Florida but travel often. They have been to Turkey a few times and love the cuisine. Our server was Talha and he was attentive and courteous the entire time. He kept us well fed and even stayed for some conversation while my parents were talking to him about their travels. He gave us great recommendations and they were all delicious. The food was flavorful and fresh, and delightfully consistent when compared to the Helotes location. My favorite part was the freshly baked bread that was still nice and steamy when we broke it apart. You can't fake that kind of quality! The atmosphere was tranquil, with light music in the background that didn't interfere with conversations, and beautiful authentic decorations scattered throughout the space. A lot of care and attention to detail was put into getting this place together. Overall, I am delighted to know that both locations are focused on putting out a quality product. From the staff, to the food, to the decorations, everything is a delight! read more

Where do I begin? So I stumbled upon this place by accident. I was looking for one restaurant and found this one. So I decided to take a chance to go in. When I did, I was greeted by a very welcoming, young lady and some very interesting music. As I looked around, I noticed that there was Turkish flag and thought to myself oh yeah this is going to be a treat. I decided to go with the grill meat plate for One and man. It was amazing. All the meat was grilled to perfection. The rice was buttery and cooked very well. And the salad to top it off was super fresh. This was easily the best meal I've had in San Antonio. So good that I went back twice on the same day. I will now be frequenting this place often. Make your way to if you can. read more
Let me say while the food was tasty it was better the second day. My dish pilic Tavares (chicken tava) and also bored and a side of hummus. The hummus was yummy, kept kept most for home I prefer it warm with olive oil drissle. The Tavares was a good portion and the service was friend. I even met someone from my old homestead Adana. Check them out, but don't look for lamarchun if your a lover like myself they don't serve it here. read more

FOOD: Everything is amazing. My favorite is the branzino. If you love fish, get the branzino. Mixed Grill is great too, available for 1 or 2 people. Beautiful plated food and every bite bursts with flavor. The bread is so good as well, extra good when it's fresh out of the oven. SERVICE: All the staff are so friendly. You are always greeted with a smile the moment you walk in. Restaurant can get pretty busy certain nights and staff are cheerful regardless of how hectic it gets. AMBIANCE: Lots of small tables and great for gathering with small groups. It's a cozy place and you can see everyone working so hard behind the kitchen. read more

Took the whole family out for lunch. The ambiance was beautiful. Great decor, and service was outstanding. Even with just one waiter taking care of all the tables. Food was quick, hot and fresh, Even my picky eater children thought it was delicious. Only wish they offered their lunch specialties on the weekend. Sometimes you just want a light lunch. My husband and I shared a mix grill for two and my kids shared a doner pide. All the meats were so flavorful and so appealing. Will be back for sure. read more

Food is delicious, we got the mixed grill plate so we can try everything. The Turkish kofte was probably the best meat they have. Since the store is pretty new service is being developed however it is adequate. Ambience is nice and the decor is unique. They also have a Turkish dessert store right next-door. Their desserts are very aesthetic and pictures are attached. They have the Dubai chocolate and many cakes. read more
While the food here is super tasty and delicious, the pricing is a bit on the higher end. The quality is amazing, but I'm not sure it is worth the price point (compared to other Mediterranean options in SA). Bread is complimentary and so fluffy and yummy. They make fresh bread to order for each table, and in combination with the olive oil and spice mixture, it is definitely a highlight. The hummus tasted freshly made and was full of flavor. I also got to try the lamb kebob, which was juicy and perfectly cooked. The falafel wrap was also good, but probably best eaten freshly made. (I had leftovers, and the wrap wasn't nearly as good after being refrigerated). If you like Mediterranean food, you need to eat here at least once! read more
I chose Chef's Table as the place for my bday lunch. Everyone in our party was so impressed with our meals. We all ordered something different and the servings are generous enough making it easy to share. The entrees were all great but the desserts are AMAZING! I highly recommend either the Kunefe or the Turkish Flan. The restaurant itself is very nice with beautiful Turkish lamps hanging from the ceiling. The food is amazing! I highly recommend. read more
