The food is great here but the parking can be difficult. There are parallel parking spots on the side of the building if needed. Be careful because you cannot drive to the back of the building, that is the Starbucks drive through and there is no way out unless you want to order coffee and wait for it so be careful not to get trapped. They accommodated a large group I had once with ease, split checks easily and everyone enjoyed the food. Today I got a chicken doner wrap which was delicious but a little messy because while it comes wrapped in paper, the ends of the wrap bread are not tucked in well. I'll be back though for more of their yummy dishes.

The food is soooo good. Everything so tasty. The tea was perfection and the hot sauce they bring out with the bread could go on so many things. Spicy but the perfect spice.

After visiting Turkey last winter, the desire to find a local and authentic Turkish restaurant has recently been on my mind. Chef's Table was our choice and it deserved a Chef's kiss. The eggplant starter was a good way to fire up our tastebuds. For entrees, I went with the Mixed Gill for one and wifey added the Iskender Kabob, which we just ended up pushing to the middle of the table to share. The combination of spiced meats and vegetables was delicious and worth the try. The Yelp pictures show a full on bakery, however this is misleading because the extensive selections are actually at the restaurant owner's other place, La Cafe, and not here. So we passed on dessert and opted to drive another 10 minutes away to Baklava Bakery for a wider selection of choices. The inside of the restaurant is a bit small and modest, but comfortable enough to enjoy a hearty meal.

The food here is amazing and SOO flavorful! We got the lamb chops for around $30 which comes with 4 lamb chops, rice, and a salad. Definitely a bit more expensive than I would have preferred. We had 2 orders of the lamb chops and we noticed that some pieces were just wayyyy smaller than others. I don't think $30 is justiced for 4 small, uneven pieces but they did taste really good and cooked well. The hummus was also really good, and fresh. One of the better house made hummuses I've had. It only came with the hummus so we had to ask for more bread with the hummus. There was only 1 server when we went and all the tables were full so service was really really slow. I did like the interior decor of the resteraunt, it felt very calm and relaxing. Overall, the food was really good but way too expensive. It was nearly $100 for 2 of us.

LOCATION: Super pretty, well-decorated spot in an unassuming location very close to 410. The place is not very big, but feels comfortably intimate with a nice vibe. Service was great with very friendly people. FOOD: Starting with the bread and ezme dip is perfect. It was delicious for a free starter. Slightly spicy, exceedingly savory, and a good richness with the olive oil. Mains that my wife and I had were both delicious. The Turkish bread they use for the pides is just phenomenal. You can eat it by itself, but the cheese and meat just take it to another level. The lamb shish was also so good. Meat was not very gamey and was just CRAZY tender. Salad was mot bad either, but the meat stole the show. Plus, good portions allowed my wife to have leftovers which were so good the next day. 100% recommend Chef's Table. We are excited to go back and try more stuff

Chicken Döner Pide (their specialty pizza)

Our server, Talha, was fantastic and took the time to walk us through the menu and break down the options, which we really appreciated. The complimentary homemade bread and dipping sauce were amazing to start. We tried the Chicken Döner Pide (their specialty pizza). A must-try! & the chicken Tava (stew) was so incredibly flavorful. I took leftovers of the chicken Tava home and was literally dreaming about it later... it was that good. This is definitely my new go-to spot in town!

Best Turkish food in San Antonio, Texas. You must try their lamb chops and don't forget their la Caffe store with all the delicious sweets.

Had high hopes but this place falls short. Dont order through seamless like I did. They don't use them anymore and when you get there they don't even know you ordered and have to wait while they make it. Food didn't have much flavor to me. For the price I'd expect my socks to be knocked off. Unfortunately not worth it to me. At least I can say I tried it. Can you?

We really enjoyed our dinner here. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with beautiful Turkish lamps and a relaxed, friendly vibe. The staff were so kind and attentive, making the experience even better. I ordered the veggie casserole, which was a perfect vegan option -- hearty, flavorful, and full of fresh vegetables. My husband had the mixed grill for one along with the baba ghanoush, and everything was cooked perfectly with great smoky flavor. The warm bread that comes to the table is incredible and pairs beautifully with the dips. Reservations are definitely a good idea during peak hours (like Friday night) because it fills up quickly. Overall, delicious food, great service, and such a welcoming atmosphere. We'll absolutely be back!

Well, what a delightful treat! San Antonio finally has an authentic Mediterranean restaurant that's good! The food was super fresh and came out piping hot. Every dish was packed with flavor including my friend's dish, chicken tava. I really enjoyed their Babaganoush with the deliciously hot bread that came with it. So yummy it has my mouth watering as I type this. Service was excellent. Attentive and prompt. Highly recommend checking this place out.

Darian T.

It's was okay. My favorite thing was probably the complimentary bread and dip. Service was good. The had some beautiful light fixtures.

Amazing food and amazing service too highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner. Perfect for date night

Jennifer D.

Nice clean cozy restaurant. With limited seating, and delicious clean food. They are able to accommodate larger parties as well. When we arrived a large family was seated and this did not cause a delay in our order. This was my first time trying Turkish food, the combination of flavors were paired so well together. The service was great. Our waiter was very attentive. My only disappointment was canned and bottled drinks.

Originally, we planned to order our food to-go. However, when we arrived, we decided to stay because the restaurant has an inviting ambiance with beautiful lighting and comfortable seating. Complementary bread is delicious, and the Mediterranean roasted tomato with red peppers sauce is tasty too. Our order of Dolma followed by Lamb and Beef Gyro was moist, well-seasoned, and a favorite. No alcohol is served, but it is BYOB. read more

They were out of some food when we went (crispy filo rolls and kunefe). This was a bummer because I was looking forward to trying both. We ordered the cauliflower and the hummus. I got the chicken kababs. They were tasty and cooked well. The pilaf rice was "meh", nothing to really say about it. Husband got the lamb and beef mixture. He enjoyed it. Hummus was ok, nothing unqiue or special to call about it. Our order of cauliflower came out "bad" so they didn't serve them to us. I don't know what was wrong, but appreciate that they didn't serve us something not up to standards. Due to the issue with the cauliflower they threw in a couple cold apps (eggplant salad and muammara). I really enjoyed the muammara. read more

So glad S.A. finally has an AUTHENTIC Turkish restaurant again!! The location is small, you have to know it's there or you might miss it, but it's a true gem and looks like a Turkish oasis inside. Walking in, I instantly loved the ambiance with the colorful Turkish lamps hanging, seeing pictures of the country on the wall, and unique chairs on some of the larger tables. We got to snack on hot fresh bread with dipping oil before the food came out. The food was amazing! We ordered chicken doner and adana kebab. Presentation was on point (lovely Turkish porcelain) and incredibly juicy and flavorful meats (both plates). Oh and we also ordered Turkish coffee, what a treat! I will be eating there all the time now that I know it's there. read more

Took my parents to the Med center for medical procedures today; they're almost 90. Went to Chefs Table to pick up food for them afterwards. Paid $80 cash & a third of my order was missing. They called me four times while I was inside the dr's office & didn't bother to leave a message. Called them when we got back to Helotes & the reply "I'm so sorry!" No offer to remedy the situation. Sorry doesn't help. Only had to leave a message but couldn't even manage that. Never again. read more

The food was great- very flavorful and prices were appropriate. The restaurant is small and busy. If planning a to go I would encourage you to make reservations. We've been back a few times now and it's been busy every time. My only complaint was the time it takes to refill drinks and water came in plastic bottles. I had to request a glass of ice and the glasses are plastic. There was only one wait staff on two of our three visits. read more

Just want to thank the waiter and staff at this lovely restaurant. A small quaint place with great ambiance. We had the appetizer sampler platter which was amazing, & we split a lamb Tava plate. So much food, and it was my first time ever eating lamb. We were celebrating our 24 year anniversary. What a nice escape. The food was exquisite. We shall return to try some more of their menu. BE CAREFUL: They are deceiving and tricky when you ask for the bill. They don't bring you a detailed bill. They waitress ( or waiter) asks you to pay without seen it using the portable machine . I have issues scanning trying to pay with Apple Pay. I went to the front to pay at the cashier and print the detailed bill. To our surprise: 1) They charged us for a bread and a salsa they brought us but we didn't order. Almost $ 12. 2. My wife ordered an ice tea, they changed the name for something else and charged almost $8 dollars. 3) They charged us for a glass with ice. Quite incredible . We liked the food but I love more honesty than anything else. Even though the food was good we will never go back to that restaurant. read more

We drove down from New Braunfels to try this place based on photos of the food we saw on line. It was absolutely the best Turkish food I've had including visits to Istanbul. Stopped by this place on whim while trying to find dinner. Glad I stopped by. The food was great. I ordered the lentil soup and the doner pita. Really nice staff and great food! We came in for dinner and the service was fast. The food tastes like your sitting in a restaurant in Turkey, it's very authentic. We came as a family so we tried a variety of foods! We tried the lentil soup, hummus, cacik, eggplant salad, Turkish salad, chicken doner, chicken kebab, Adana kabab, and the Turkish kofte. The red meat does taste more like lamb than beef, so if your not a huge fan of lamb, stick to a chicken entree. The lentil soup was delicious and flavorful, but it was a bigger portion (I'd say maybe for 2 to share). Lastly the baklava was delicious and is a must try when you come here. read more

If you haven't had Turkish/Middle Eastern food you may think this place is great. We are foodies and have lived in many other cities/states and new to San Antonio. We've really, really struggled to find good food here. We were also spoiled with very high quality middle eastern/mediterranean food in the past. They ran out of rice so our dish arrived with fries. Appetizers were good, however very salty. An Italian place we tried near the Dominion also had VERY salty food. Turns out a middle eastern guy owns this restaurant as well. Not sure if it's cultural or a strategy to preserve food and make it last longer. Regardless foodies can tell! We were considering having this restaurant cater a party for 50. Owner ended night sitting with his partner at a table, never came to say hello and had the waitress communicate with us. I guess we weren't that important! We threw out leftovers due to salty taste. read more

I would give Chef's table 3 stars. Me and my wife went for dinner last night and we ordered their doner pide and mix platter for 1. Doner pide was not good. It was bland, not taste as such. It looked good but not something you'd enjoy eating. It was for $18. Not totally worth it at all. Mix platter, chicken, lamb and kebab were good. They were tasty. Doner on the side was that you can find anywhere in all other gyro places. Side of rice portion was very small. It was for $28. Again not worth it. Overall experience was very average. Highly over priced in comparison to other Turkish or middle eastern restaurants. Nothing special that I'd like to visit again. read more

I don't get to review on my impression of their food. Sign said closes at 9pm today (Tuesday) but their grill actually closed at 8:30pm. I don't understand the signs aren't keeping up with what's actually happening inside. Too bad because it smelled amazing! We might try again another night. UPDATE: Gave this place a try! Great Atmosphere and wonderful decor. Was somewhat busy when we went (Very Limited Seating) the fresh bread appetizer with the Cacik (AMAZING) & pepper dip was very Good !!!! HOWEVER......The main course fell very very short.....Ordered the Mixed Grill for ONE and was very disappointed. Food was very bland lacking flavor and seasoning. The Beef/Lamb Doner (Gyro Meat) was very overcooked and lacked flavor and seasoning. The Beef Kabob was extremely tough and chewy (did not taste like it was even marinated) My wife & I both agreed that the chicken doner and chicken Kebobs were Outstanding!!!!!! Will I give this establishment another time YES. & I seriously give it a 3 out of 5 stars. read more

From the smaller plates I think I've tried almost everything and there hasn't been one I didn't love. However the hummus is a must and the feta cheese is always a winner when I bring new people to Ladino. The staff here is outstanding! The level of service they offer is unbelievable. They truly make sure you have an outstanding experience during your visit, and that level of service is hard to find. Whether you are looking to try a new place or celebrate an anniversary, do yourself a favor and make a reservation at Ladino.

During our final day in San Antonio, my friends and I decided to step away from Tex-Mex and try something different - a Mediterranean restaurant. Despite the risk, we were drawn in by its positive online reviews, so we made a reservation and headed there, which was about a 20-minute drive from downtown. Upon arrival, a courteous gentleman greeted us, promptly seated us, and took our orders. Since there were four of us, we opted to share a mix appetizer plate, a cheese pide, and a mixed grill for two. We also ordered extra rice, and I decided to try their yogurt drink, while my colleagues chose iced tea. While waiting for our order, we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary serving of fresh bread accompanied by a delectable spicy tomato dip. It was so delightful that we asked for more. The mix appetizer plate featured a delightful selection of hummus, lebni, cacik, and dolma, and it went perfectly with the bread. The mixed grill (for two) was a feast to remember, with its grilled meatballs, lamb and chicken doner, beef shish, lamb chops, chicken shish, and a side of rice, yogurt sauce, and veggie salad. The flavors were fantastic, and the portion was generous enough for all of us. The cheese pide was equally scrumptious, though we couldn't finish it entirely of all our orders, likely because we had indulged in plenty of bread earlier. The dessert selection included rice pudding and kunefe. While the kunefe leaned towards being a touch oily, the rice pudding proved to be a delightful and delicious treat! Nevertheless, I couldn't bear to waste such deliciousness, so I requested a to-go box and brought it back to my apartment in Los Angeles. Even the next day, it still tasted amazing! Overall, we had an incredibly satisfying dining experience at this Mediterranean restaurant, and I highly recommend it to anyone in San Antonio or visiting the city. The mouthwatering dishes and friendly service make it a must-visit spot! read more

Chef's Table restaurant offers a good dining experience with a focus on Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine. The restaurant offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a casual meal or a special occasion. The menu is a delightful mix of traditional Turkish flavors, featuring dishes like mixed grill, hummus and baklava, all prepared with fresh ingredients and rich spices. The lamb and beef doner is a somewhat flavorful and satisfying dish. The marinated beef and lamb was tender and the grilled vegetables made the dish a well-rounded meal. However, for my palate, the white rice lacked flavor. The fried calamari, was good but not the best I ever had. Service was attentive and friendly. Whether you're a fan of grilled meats or vegetarian delights, Chef's Table has something to satisfy every palate. A must try, if you are nearby. read more

My wife and I visited the restaurant and requested to be seated away from the kitchen and bathroom, especially since there were five empty tables available by 6:30 PM. This was excellent…read more I added this to my list after seeing its outstanding reviews on Google and Yelp in case we had spare time on our business trip, being in San Antonio from Tampa - we had that extra time and ended up here and it's great that we did. I called ahead of time asking if they had availability for 6 guests at around 6 PM and they said that it shouldn't be a problem, but they can't guarantee that we'd be seated right away... sold! We arrived and while the set up the table, Charlene welcomed us to hang out at the bar. We were then greeted by Ben, who we came to find out was one of the owners of the restaurant. He spoke with us briefly as our table was being set up, welcoming us in. Within 3 minutes of coming in, they set up a table for us in the corner of the restaurant and had us seated. The place is small (not tiny) and even on a Wednesday at 6 PM, it was clearly a popular spot... we would continue to find out why that was the case. Forgive me, as I cannot remember our waitresses' name, but she was great. She handed us our menus and let us be as we needed a moment to make our decisions. The front of the menu tells the humble story of how the restaurant came to be - definitely worth a read while you are waiting. Our waitress came back and took our drink and food orders. At the same time, I asked if she could have Ben come over as we wanted to hear more about his story after reading the brief story on the front of the menu. He came over and talked to us for ~5 minutes telling us about how he ended up in the States after leaving his home and how the restaurant came to be - from that alone, my experience had already been elevated and I was even more excited for the remainder of the experience to come. The drinks arrived, followed by the food, which we ordered (mostly) solely on Ben's recommendations. Everything looked delicious and as we were told by Ben, it was all fresh, purchased that day from the market and cooked to order. We started with the fried mozzarella, which was unique to me, in that it had no marinara but instead, spicy honey and sesame seeds and was fried in beef tallow - it was great. I ordered the Chicken Parm, which had fresh mozzarella poured into it at the table - the mozzarella smelled (and tasted) AMAZING. The dish has select bites throughout it that had some spice to it - I'd say that the spice level was about a 3/10, coming from someone who doesn't have the highest spice tolerance. The flavor/satisfaction level? 10/10. Typically, I'm not a dessert guy, but because of how good the experience was up to this point, I had to indulge. I ordered the crème brûlée and was not disappointed. Good temperature, good, mild flavor and presentation. This experience was excellent. From the unsuspecting setting, the greeting, the noise level in the restaurant, the attentiveness of the servers, the presentation and flavor of the food, to the staff asking how everything was and holding the door for us as we left, this is an exemplary example of how hospitality/service should be done. Ben, hopefully you are extremely proud of the team you have put together and the establishment you have made over the past two years. Very well done and thank you for your hospitality. If we are ever in town again, this will DEFINITELY be a stop that we make. Cheers.

I also like their Dubai chocolate strawberries they make it fresh there but they're pricey. They're $15 the double entrée bowl in comparison is also $15. Roasted cauliflower is considered an entrée and I recommend it cause roasted cauliflower is delicious especially with all the sauces and dressings. The marquee with the sample salad bowls and wraps changed very fast so I couldn't figure out which one I wanted so I made my own bowl and I cannot be trusted cause I wanted everything in the bowl. Another customer recommended the chicken however I'm anemic so I had the beef But next time I will try the chicken. She also gets her dips on the side for an extra charge because she shares her bowl, but I don't share so I had everything in there. I hardly made a dent, so for the price it can feed you twice.

I'm always looking for healthier food options and decided to finally check out this spot!…read more I loved how fresh, colorful, and clean their ingredients were and making my own bowl as macro-friendly as possible while not compromising on flavor is a dream come true. The pricing is pretty fair at $14.95 for a BYO considering they have over 40 (yes, I counted) options across their rice, salad, topping, dip and finishing sauce options. Definitely recommend for a quick dinner or lunch and also the inside is so pretty. Perfect for photos lol. And the staff is very sweet! Proteins need to be HOTTER in my opinion but that's my preference not a deal breaker

I think it may have been some of the cucumber. I loved the portions I was served. The server always asked if the portions were good enough, and when I did ask for more of one ingredient she added a lot more which I appreciated. The atmosphere was small and quiet. I'd definitely go back to try the other proteins and mix ins.

The staff here could not have been friendlier. I had never heard of shrak before, so I asked about it. The waitress actually went into the kitchen, and a sweet lady came out moments later with some for me to try! That kind of genuine hospitality is rare these days. For anyone unfamiliar, shrak is similar to a tortilla--thin, soft, and perfect for scooping up all the deliciousness. The food itself was outstanding. The yellow rice was incredibly flavorful--long, fluffy grains cooked just right. Rice may sound simple, but making it this good takes skill, and they absolutely nailed it. I ordered the beef kabobs with rice and salad, and everything was cooked perfectly. The beef was tender, juicy, and seasoned beautifully. Portions were generous, and the whole meal left me looking forward to my next visit. I honestly didn't know Jordanian-inspired Mediterranean food in San Antonio could be this good! Hala Café is definitely a spot I'll be coming back to again and again.
