I've never been so disappointed with a dinning experience. My friends have been to the place before and asked if they could bring their catch for them to cook and they were happy to do so. We were a group of 11 people ordering multiple appetizers, dinner, and drinks. When the bill arrived they charged us an extra $300 for cooking "our catch". This information was never communicated to us and we found it to be a bit offensive since we already had a bill of over $700 for everything else we had ordered. WHEN THE OWNER WAS APPROACHED SHE WAS UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE, AND A COMPLETE IDIOT! I was so shocked at her behavior as an owner with a group of customers that just spent a lot of money in a hole in the wall restaurant. The food was good but not the best I've ever had and definitely not worth the attitude and money we spent. She needs to learn manners, and business etiquette! chef Dee's is definitely my go to! On top of the seafood being extremely fresh, the ambiance is also great. Other than the staff being very friendly, chef Dee always gets out of his way to greet me and my dad. Came in one day and didn't feel like eating the usual snapper piccata style so instead he made me a delicious salad and the next time snapper with sautéed spinach, Chef Dee really gets out of the way to see his guests happy. We order Chef Dee's frequently, one of our favorite items on the menu is the Tuna roll. WE have noticed the last couple of times we have ordered there that the woman who answers the phone lacks basic customer service skills and actually is a little rude. We tried to place an order tonight for take out, she told us it would be 2 hrs. Seriously 2 hrs ? Maybe it's time to hire more help in the kitchen. I understand it's busy but it's very small inside and there are not a lot of tables which is why we call for take out. If you can't prepare an order in under 1 hr than maybe you need to make some changes. More importantly is the impolite way she is speaking on the phone. If you ever want to hear someone who is grateful for your business and really accomodating than call Kevin's Sushi and Thai. Last weekend my parter and I decided to give this place a try. When we walked in we noticed how warm it was. Our first mistake was eating in a restaurant that serves raw fish where the AC wasn't working. We took a seat at the sushi bar directly facing into the kitchen. When the waitress came and gave us our menus I asked her if the AC was broken. She mumbled something about being really warm in there and wandered off. We both noticed our menus were torn and stained with food, I'll get back to this in a minute or two. I ordered the sushi dinner and my partner ordered the Lighthouse Roll. We started out with a complimentary appetizer that I believe was the tuna tatami. It was very tasty and a nice way to start off the meal. While waiting for our meals I noticed a waitress standing in the doorway of the kitchen grab a water pitcher and start drinking from it. I'll admit I didn't see her refill anyone's water with it, it's disturbing to see and seems unsanitary. Our meals came and mine consisted of an assortment of nigiri (raw fish on top of rice) and a spicy tuna roll. I had to ask the waitress what the tuna roll was because the fish was ground up and I've never seen that before. That is the last time I ever eat ground tuna. I gave my partner a piece and we both decided we hated it. Not only was it not cold, but it had the texture of cat food. I brought it home for my dogs. My partner gave me a piece of his lighthouse roll and we both decided it would be really good had it only been served chilled. While we ate, 2 customers came in and sat next to us at the bar. They seemed to know the sushi chef the way they greeted each other. The sushi chef (back to the menus) using his gloved hands handed them both the dirty menus. He then went back to handling the raw fish and making dishes using the same gloves. While making the plates for the couple sitting next to us he brought out a bowl of tempura chips and one of the waitresses who has been handling the menus, money and dirty plates stuck her hands into the bowl and grabbed a few chips and started eating them behind the sushi bar. PS, it's the same waitress I saw grab something off a plate and it eat it before she served it to her table. GROSS. I've waited tables in the past and I've never seen such bad behavior of waitstaff before. Hopefully Chef Dee will see this review and fix his AC, keep the fish properly chilled, and find new waitstaff or at least scold and properly train them. read more

This may seem like a silly description but I just had his triple tail (you need to know your fish to chose that btw TY Chef Dee), and it is so moist and cooked properly, it is fluffy. Franchese is an art and you typically do not ruin a good fish this way, UNLESS Chef Dee makes it! Kind people. Excellent service. AMAZING food. Fresh tuna ceviche martini, tuna tartare. This is going to be a new favorite when I'm in town, both for the amazing food and the welcoming and friendly service. It's a very small place but didn't feel cramped and If you're not sitting up close to the sushi bar noise level is pretty low. We started with the usual warm bread, which was good but nothing particularly special, until you use it to sop up their delicious olive oil. I'd come back just for that smooth, buttery rich olive oil. Both times I've been I ordered the special and it hasn't disappointed either time. From Italian dishes to sushi- everything seems to center around fresh fish. This place has potential and a charm to it, however there are some staffing and service issues. There is def a mom and pop feel, however there were just some awkward service issues like not knowing when to take dishes away and letting them pile up, being slow to refill water or to take an order between app and main meal, also sushi guy showed up mid lunch and helped with some stuff, but chef helped with others and we weren't sure when the bill would arrive or where to be seated, etc. everyone was nice though. Maybe they were short staffed that day. The prices are fair though and there was a chalkboard of specials outside. It's definitely worth a casual try and could be pretty at night with some ambient lighting and candles at the tables/bar. You can even catch tv at the bar. Don't be sketched out by the plaza though, the inside has a way of seeming much more serene on the inside than the outside. read more

The crab cake appetizer is excellent too. The fried calamari is nothing special and there's so many other good things to still explore on the big menu. Tip: If you don't see exactly what you want, just ask. SERVICE: All the wait staff I've had are efficient and friendly; Chef Dee is accommodating and often comes out to say hello. AMBIANCE: Upscale casual. The L shaped bar seats about 8 and you go with friends or make some there. I've seen a group take up nearly the whole long dining area. You don't need to dress up, but it's not really a t-shirt and shorts place either. When there's white linens on the table...you get the idea what's best. Manny, the sushi chef, is an absolute magician. Dee, the owner and main chef also treated me to Clams Casino and a crab cake. Oh my gosh. Perfection. If you're out fishing and catch something you'd like cooked, bring it to Dee and he will prepare it for you! While I was there a couple brought in a yellow tail snapper and Dee fried it whole for them. Beautiful. I got to sample a portion with his famous Francese sauce.
