Came here for dinner to try their wok dishes but they also serve traditional Hong Kong Style cafe here. Bottle Vitasoy milk was nostalgic and it was heated warm. Perfect for a cold winter day for a Hong Kong memory. $3.99 Signature ginger scallions chicken (half) was juicy and tender. Great ginger and onion soy sauce flavour. Deep fried egg tofu with shrimp, mushroom and squid was mt absolute favourite and the sauce is so tasty that I can have a bwok of rice with just this dish. Must order and it was staff's recommendation. Satay beef fried rice was decent and goes well with wok dishes and not overly empowering. Sweet and sour pork riblettes was well battered and not overly saucing sinking the meat into the sauce making it soft and soggy. Nice flavour and cripsy with tender meat. It has bones inside so opt for sweet and sour pork instead if you prefer meat in every bite. Special PROMO: after 4:30pm order $30 before tax and receive a free satay salmon head dish for FREE while quantity lasts. This dish was yummy and there's quite a lot of meat. Satay sauce is not spicy but flavourful. Goes well with rice. Their wok dishes are surprisingly great even thought this is a Hong Kong Cafe restaurant. Friendly and attentive service. Come try the dishes I ordered and I will be back to try their afternoon tea and HK style dishes next time.

We came to Cheeky Chat Eatery a new cha chaan teng (茶餐廳) for the afternoon tea, afternoon tea runs from 2:30-4:30pm. 沙爹牛肉出前一丁 Satay beef instant, you can choose instant noodle or rice noodle. The satay sauce was tasty and the instant noodle you can taste that they use 出前一丁 Nissin brand. The only enhancement required is that the beef is a little tougher but a good portion. The 西多士配雞翼 French toast with chicken wings was tasty. The French toast was nicely done with different layers. The curry fishballs were not bad. All afternoon tea selections comes with a drink. For cold drinks, you add $1.00. The service was very nice, attentive, fast and friendly. The ambiance is simple yet comfy. They have bottled vita soy. On the menu they also have fried rice, noodles, different items for dinner! Check it out!

First time I came they basically told me turn around go else where we have no stock on food but it's 3pm so weird. Second time bit better luck. I came here for afternoon tea menu but it's mainly deep fried or instant noodles. I rather it be like pine house where there's a good choices of soup noodles, stir fried noodles and fried foods. I got the French toast with wings. The French toast was fried perfectly with the peanut butter in the middle. But the slab of butter they put on top was too much and the syrup they give you is super runny. The wings there was 4 but I think it could be seasoned more. Overall it was a meh experience and I probably would go back if there's nothing better to eat near by. The place is smal and can get quite cold so if can try to get the tables up the 2 steps.

I'm not a bad carb person so I can barely make a dent in their rice/noodle dishes for lunch. So I was happy to see non-rice/noodles based dishes that is served all day and not just tea time. I ordered the yuzu chicken steak with potato salad. It comes with a drink and soup. The chicken steak was deep fried, with liminal batter and the met remains juicy. The yuzu sauce was spread on top. First time seeing chicken + yuzu at a cha cheng teng. What took me by surprised was the potato salad. It was definitely made in house, with chunks of apples, carrots, red onion, ham and eggs. Love how it was also not dose in miracle whip. I chose the Chinese soup (instead of western style) and it was flavorful. I would said better than most Chinese restaurants who gives for complimentary soup for dinner. There was minimal MSG, as I didn't feel thirsty afterwards. The HK milk tea was the weaker component of this set, the tea base was lacking in flavour and didnt have the "thick" texture to it.

The taste of the food is pretty much spot on to the other locations, and very classic cha chaan teng foods. Service here is really good actually! They are super attentive and are sure to repeat your order so they have it right. They come to refill your water quickly and often as well. The place isn't very busy most of the time, so it's usually pretty easy to get a seat.

I feel some restaurants tend to use pork that is not fresh for this dish to save a few bucks, particularly, because they thought the tomato sauce could cover up that taste. I decided to give it a shot at Cha Kee because I just really wanted to have it today, and damn, I've got to say I was extremely impressed by the baked pork chop on rice here. It was perhaps one of the best I've ever tasted in recent years, after visiting countless HK tea restaurants. The tomato sauce itself is perfect - sour and sweet in the best way possible. The pork chop? Excellent. Not only is it super fresh (unlike how it is sometimes served in other Hk tea restaurants), but the texture, the cut and the flavours are all perfect. The uniquely juicy thick cut was nicely coated in panko and cooked to crispy perfection. Every bite is a satisfying, pleasant surprise. While it is not the cheapest in town, it comes with a free drink (and the ice drink is the same price!) I will definitely come back often.

Their signature baked pork chop rice has a brimming amount of meat atop plain egg fried rice. It's a nice blend of crispiness & umami in each bite, although the tomato cheese sauce can be on the watery side. The other all-day meals we've tried include vermicelli with scrambled egg & toast, and tomato beef vermicelli. HK drinks are included in the meal (milk, coffee or lemon tea). Good affordable option for a quick bite.

The garlic cream curry baked rice with chicken cutlet was super rich and comforting. The curry had a creamy, slightly garlicky flavor, and the chicken cutlet was crispy on the outside while still tender inside. The beef and eggplant stone pot was one of my favorites. It's really flavorful and saucy, and great with rice. For dessert, the salted egg yolk French toast is definitely a must-order. It's crispy on the outside with a gooey salted egg center, and the pork floss on top adds a nice savory contrast. We also tried the Ovaltine French toast, which had a malty sweetness that paired well with the buttery toast. Overall, it feels like a nice refresh from the original menu. still very comforting, but with a slightly more elevated approach to classic HK café dishes. The interior was very cozy and the service was fast.

Han Tai Wan, I remember had a different name before. And the restaurant exterior has changed. It's hard to not notice them since there's not many HK cafes in the Yonge and Finch area and because of their gimmicky HK style decor. But due to their inconvenient location, I haven't given them a try until now. While Cantonese songs were periodically played on their speakers, none of their servers seem to speak Cantonese as their mother tongue. Honestly, I don't care what language they spoke if the food was tasty and authentic. I ordered a recommended item off the menu, the baked tomato pork chop rice, and I wouldn't say it was exactly authentic. The portion was small and the prices were higher than most HK cafes. You are definitely paying the North York (high) rent tax here. The sauce on the rice was ok, but it tasted a bit too artificial. The batter on the pork chop is not really HK style. The rice was just plain rice and sadly not stir fried. The only plus was they were generous with the cheese. The cheese lovers would love it (and I'm one of them), but it's definitely too much for a HK style pork chop. Sometimes there is too much of a good thing. The HK milk tea was not memorable. Aside from the novelty of the HK style decor, and prime North York location for those who live in the area, I don't see the appeal of this place. It's not bad, but it's just not what I'm looking for.
