We never even got a chance to order, much less taste the food. It was a 25 minute wait for a table inside, so we elected to take an outside table. Host took us to a dirty table, asked us to wait while he got a rag, wiped the table while sweeping crumbs into his right hand, through the crumbs on the floor, then handed us menus with that same hand. Sit down quality food at fast food prices. The total bill for our group of 6 was $50. That's including the appetizers and desserts we got. This place is very affordably priced and good. The booth was dirty and oily, we tried to stop the staffs who were walking by but no one even gave you a look. So we stood there and finally a man came to clean it up but not so nice. Slow and bad service. My sister had chicken tenders which should came with two sides, she ordered steamed broccoli and fries. After we got our food, waitress asked are we missing anything, we told her that we still missing steamed broccoli. Few minutes after, she gave my sister a mashed potato, we were all confused, then she looked at us and went:"oops, sorry", walked away. Then the waitress gave my sister the steamed broccoli by the time when we finished our food, we told her we don't want the mashed potato(didn't even touch it) so she took it away. We stopped in after an afternoon of shopping. Had a wonderful meal. The Cajun spice was delicious on the New Orleans pasta. The blackened red fish was tender and fresh. Service was excellent. Definitely will try again when we are in Waco. read more

My best friend and I frequent Cheddar's at least twice a month and on average, we have had great service and food was good. Today, we met for lunch as we do and there was one waitress taking care of the bar area booths. She was very pleasant but it took far too long for our drinks to come and even longer for our food to arrive. Mind you, we are both on our lunch breaks from work. My friend paid with a gift card and I told her to go ahead and leave due to her company is not as flexible as mine. I sat in the booth waiting for the waitress to come back with my card and receipt for an additional 10 minutes. The server did apologize and stated that they were short handed today. However, I didn't see the manager trying to help in any way.The bartender had little concern over those who were sitting in her area either. There was no sense of urgency on making the drink orders that were given to her. Overall, was disappointed in the slow service. Ordered 2 Monte Cristos with broccoli cheese casserole and chips with spinach dip to go. The food was pretty good.. until we found a piece of dark hair in our food.. of course we call back and explain what happen and was offered a refund on a gift card as that's what we used to pay for the food and an additional gift receipt in the mail.. that was great until either never happened? Even after a MONTH waiting. So we give a call back explaining again the situation and never receiving the refund nor the gift receipt in the mail. So a few days later we receive a egift card for $20 (but didn't get the refund). After that we decided to not call and let it pass it's whatever, right? Yeah no. We ordered to go again, same thing.. two monte cristos one w/ ff & one w/ broccoli cheese and chips n beef queso. We get home and my order was wrong!! I received steamed broccoli instead of the broccoli cheese casserole so as you can see on the picture I had to scoop some of my queso on my broccoli, but it's not the same. The flavor is not the same as the bcc as it's missing the rice for texture & additional flavor. I'm so disappointed as I was looking forward to broccoli cheese cass as that's my favorite! Typical American fair. It has all the things that you would expect. The restaurant atmosphere is pleasant. It does have less of a bar atmosphere than some of the other American restaurants like Chili's or Bennigan's. It's definitely worth a meal but not with a special occasion. read more

A Monday night, 7:30 and only one other table occupied in our seating area. 10 minutes later the waiter arrives. We looked up our choices online so we're ready to order because it was already a late dinner. 20 minutes later and still no chips and queso, and no drink refills and our waiter not to be seen. Well- they aren't on the table so... we cancel the chips and queso order since now our food is hopefully almost ready and an appetizer not really gonna be necessary. Its now 30 minutes and food comes out- Brings drink refills to kids finally but never any more water to me and the hubby or checks back with us after delivering food. Check comes and of course the chips and queso still on the ticket. 10 minutes and several passes later we get the right ticket but he takes off without taking the card and so still we wait.... would hate to see what its like on a weekend if this is during a slow traffic night. Horrible! The service today is the worst it has EVER BEEN. The floor manager is the problem. He stood at the servers stand the whole time we were there (45 minutes). Appetizer and drinks arrived quickly. Meal took 1/2 an hour to get. Our server didn't bring out our food. Someone else brought it out and spilled it on the table then didn't clean it up and never brought any replacement. We had to ask another server for help and she tried but the kitchen messed up for her too!!! Our server finally showed up when it was time to get paid. She asked how was everything and my wife said we had some troubles but they were almost fixed. Our server ignored that too. The floor manager never came out to fill tea grab some silverware nothing. He held the severs stand down real well he was a joke. It's no surprise the servers sucked when they have that guy to follow. And the tip chart at the bottom of the receipt is very pretentious when you get service like this. I think it's time to go steal the employees from Olive Garden to make this place better. read more

We went there after I got married on a Wednesday and we waited almost 2 hours to be seated and then almost an hour to get our drinks and 45 for our food. Fly crawled out of Salad: Please read! I opened a Yelp account to report THIS! Restaurant not very busy. Seated immediately but it took almost an hour to get our food. A half dead fly crawled up out of my wife's crispy chicken salad. The fly died on the edge of her dish. Showed fly to manager. We both lost our appetite. Manager took her dish off the bill but refused to do the same for mine. Needless to say, neither one of us wanted to eat another bite. I ordered the ultimate nachos to go by phone on 4/12/17 after having to call back to back due to the line being busy and being transferred back and forth several times for someone to take my order. When I finally got through, the girl that took my order said that my food would be ready within 5-10 minutes. I arrived within 10 minutes and ended up waiting another 25 minutes for my order. When the girl at the bar opened my containers to show me the food, I replied that the nachos were kind of skimpy and she replied back that they were really busy in the kitchen and rushing on orders. She didn't offer to take them back or have them remade, so I paid with a $25.00 cheddars gift card and the girl had the nerve to ask me did I want my $15.48 back that I had left on my card. I was appalled!!! Did she think that I would give her a tip more that what my food cost with the terrible service that I experienced?? On my way out, I was still in shock that I asked to speak with a manager. A guy manager came out, sat down and listened to my complaints and he was very shocked about his staff asking me if I wanted the card back. He apologized and assured me that he would address the issue and he even refunded my nachos back to my card and offered me something else for free, but I declined. He ended up giving me 2 cards for a free caso appetizer which I thought was very kind. Lately I have been having really terrible customer service here at cheddars but I continue to go because they generally have some what decent food. read more
