Im not exactly sure why the ratings for this place is low, but we dined in on a Saturday around 1230 pm and had a great experience. Our server was attentive, food came out on time. Would recommend the spinach dip, better than others that Ive tried. Got the grilled white fish- nothing too special about that, bit too salty for my liking. I tried my brother's order of ribs and I liked the flavor and how soft it was. My son almost finished his cheeseburger which doesnt happen too often. Overall, the menu prices are pretty good actually, considering that most meals had two sides. And dont forget the fresh croissants they give out! Taking out a star because it was so easy for my son to purchase a game on the Zoosk tablet.

BIG THANK YOU to Kierra for making my favorite drink. It was amazing and her customer service is outstanding...

We were in the Embassy Suites San Antonio Landmark area, so we visited @cheddarskitchen for lunch yesterday. Love the complimentary Honey Croissants. Dad and I shared the Ribs and Shrimp with mashed potato and a side salad. Hubby had the Country Fried Steak with mashed potato and corn. The ribs were tender. Both dishes were decent and Sahara got us in and out of there in no time. If you need some lunch in the area, go check it out!

Tonight we decided to go to Cheddar's. This is my first time being here. I was really impressed with the decor it's very warming and has a nice feel. It has a fish tank in between the bar and dinning area. They gave us buttered croissants we ordered the queso chips and salsa. Chips were okay and the salsa was good the queso reminded me of nacho cheese. I ordered the half rack of ribs with chicken tenders. I also got the side Caesar salad. My wife got the grilled chicken Alfredo. The salad was good with a decent amount of dressing the croutons were very good. The ribs were all off the bone and a good size the portions weren't small at all which was nice and we had left overs. Our waitress was super nice and friendly. She made sure that we were well taken care of.

Excellent! Just excellent! I had to order from out of town for another person. The order went in at 9:15pm, to be ready at 9:38pm. I worried because when a restaurant is due to close 20 minutes after your meal pick up... Well, usually that means old end-of-the-day scraps. The young lady who brought it to the car was very nice. This meal was par excellence. Even the croissants were warm. Thank you for such good service and food.

I'd avoid the burger though because it didn't seem like it was made from fresh, quality ground beef.

Their burgers were not good at all. The patty seemed like it was a frozen patty and not made from fresh ground beef. However, my friends fried fish fillets were very moist and tasty.

Came here to eat and had a drink with my classmates after our final exam. Love the food here! Their shrimps are perfectly cooked as always. I especially came here for their watermelon margarita! And of course their butter croissant is amazing! Our server is very nice and friendly. I always have a nice experience in this location.

So I read the reviews of this Cheddar location before entering to eat. I was craving some soup and wanted to just have a quick meal. Upon entering, we went right around 11am yesterday. It wasn't busy at all which was nice. I told my waiter that I came in just to have some bowls of soup. She kind of seem irritated at me because we just wanted soups. Once my soup was finished, I wanted to eat something light. So I used the kiosk and ordered a kids Alfredo Pasta. My waiter comes back and explains to me that she got in trouble from me ordering a kids meal. She explains this to me as she gives me my pasta. She said the manager wrote her up because customers cannot buy pasta if they are under 12. After all this commotion, I didn't eat the pasta. It really rubbed me the wrong way because the manager should have come to talk to me about it and not the waiter. My waiter didn't do anything wrong, plus every one is short staff. This lady is here trying to work and make a living too. Plus the whole purpose of ordering off a kiosk is to make it easier for the waiters! So I was curious and I went to see if Anyone could order off the kids menu through the app. YOU CAN! So pretty much anyone can order of this menu at anytime without knowing if you are under 12. I am a Cheddars fan and I just wouldn't come back to this location in particular.

I've been here a few times and have never really been impressed. The food we have had is blah. Out service has been ok. The times I have been here the floor and tables have been messy. Not sure I'll be back.

We enjoyed some of their IPAs and began with grilled oysters which were delicious with quite the kick and their chilled cucumbers which were nice but would have been better if they were cut into smaller pieces as each piece was an entire spiral from the length of a cucumber - but they were still delicious! I got the snapper throats which is my absolute standout dish off their menu, my husband had the pork and my kids enjoyed the calamari and their pressure cooked chicken with biscuits - with their delicious house salad as a side as one is more than enough for 4! I didn't need extra fat from avocado after the corn cakes since it doesn't add much flavor to the dish. The corn cakes are good and I will order again but not as good as some other cornbread. It came with 2 cakes. One was undercooked and one has a crispy crust. The undercooked one was my favorite. It is more moist with soft in the middle. Tuna Al Pastor has a kick but nothing special. Tres Leches was beautiful. 4/5. I like the fresh fruits to cut down the sweetness. The cake was a bit in the dense side. The icing on top was thick. I wish it was a fluffy whip cream to cut down from all the sweetness. Overall it's still a better tres leches than other places in the area.

We arrived around 5pm on a Thursday and got in queue which was out the door and wrapping around the front porch. Their host/doorman was kind, he offered the line water on many occasions and made pleasantries with almost all guests as the line moved. It was a hot day so those waters were clutch. By the time we made it to the front of order line maybe 40 minutes had passed. But ladies and gents the wait is worth it. When we plated our trays on the table my family all had heart eyes, and had equally loved our first bites. Their brisket is extremely tender. It's beautifully sliced and made for an amazing welcome back to the South taste for me. I was in heaven. I particularly enjoyed having the fresh pickled red onion for fresh, zesty cuts through the abundance of other saltier elements on the plate. Their menu is slammin! Their sides, and sausages all had crafty ingredients. I enjoyed their spicy link options and their macaroni was delightful. Their BBQ sauce was a nice 4/5 but certainly did the job. As a native Texan who's had their fair share, this was easily some of the best barbecue I've ever had. Top 5 top 5 top 5. I'm of course coming back and looking forward for more banana cream pudding especially. They were small, slightly sweet, and had great balance with the vanilla wafer ratio. That whip cream on top too had me hooked. I couldn't have asked for a better welcome back meal for the bold Texas cuisine, hospitality, and novelty animal and cowboy decor.

The cabbage was somewhat spicy, the cornbread muffin was a half muffin, the muffin did not fill up the cupcake muffin wrapper. But the fried catfish, fried chicken wings and yams were on point, I would order the catfish and chicken wing plate to go anyday! The peach cobbler was very sweet. My daughter ordered meatloaf, a pork chop plate, Mac & cheese, collard greens, cornbread muffin, a tropical punch beverage and banana pudding which I felt the pudding was watered down vs. being thick. She asked for medium cooked pork chops and one pork chop was medium and one pork chop was over cooked. She notified the cashier and he stated they both were cooked at temp the same time. The collard greens were spicy and the Mac & cheese were watered down. I had to go to the restroom. This was the worst restroom in any restaurant I have ever used. First, there was no light on, I had to ask for light and one of the employees turned on the light. Secondly, there was an awful hole in the top right corner ceiling, I was afraid to use the restroom for fear of some bug crawling in through the ceiling hole. Third, there was also a hole in the wall visible behind the toilet tank top, again I was afraid to set down on the toilet and the whole bathroom decor was unappealing. When other patrons described this establishment as as "HOLE IN THE WALL" they were absolutely correct. Don't forget about the hole in the ceiling! Entering into the building, the walls and ceiling were black, making the atmosphere sad. There was also a small bar to the left of the dining area. But the kicker for me was, our two meals, two beverages, and two desserts cost $61!!! As many Soul Food Restaurant I have eaten in with my daughter for two people, I have never been charged so much for two soulfood meals with two beverages and two desserts. RECOMMEDATION: Of course my palate is different from other customers, but I would never return to the establishment due to being over charged for two meals, two beverages, two desserts and the lady's restroom was the pits.

It is the perfect stop after showing friends and family the Alamo and the River Walk before heading back home. Just be prepared for a line because every time we have gone, there is usually one. It moves, but it is definitely part of the experience. Our go to items are always the lip smacking brisket. We order a pound of regular and a quarter pound of lean. Both are tender and flavorful. The ribs and sausage are also solid choices. For sides, we rotate between the well seasoned green beans, mac and cheese, beans and okra. All of them are excellent and you really cannot go wrong. Side note. I am not a fan of their corn. I prefer corn that leans sweet rather than spicy, so it is not my favorite. Next time I go, I already know what I want to try. Either the Brisket Sandy or the Brisket Grilled Cheese. Both look incredible. EVERYTHING I just mentioned was fresh, delicious, and ON POINT and I had enough food left over for dinner and a little leftover for the next day. I definitely got my money's worth. I went there after reading the reviews and having a taste for barbecue chicken. Unfortunately, there was no barbecue chicken or anything I planned to purchase while checking out the menu at the airport. However, I have no regrets and I will be back when I'm in the area. Service: I called while at the airport to make sure they had chicken and I was told yes. I immediately headed straight to the restaurant from the airport. It was my first visit to this restaurant and to be honest, I was a bit disappointed with the service. I wasn't immediately acknowledged. They ran out of everything I planned to purchase between the time I called and drove to the restaurant from the airport (short ride). The area where the condiments are stored was not as clean or organized as it should have been for a restaurant. There seemed to be enough staff to take care of it while I was there. Staff I came in contact with were nice and acknowledged with a smile when I was at my table. There is an area before arriving to the restroom that was not as clean as it should have been. The garbage can was running over with trash. Atmosphere: Loud, joyful, and family friendly environment. I met a family who were looking for a place to sit. I invited them to sit with me and it was great! I will be back the next time I am in the San Antonio area. I'm thinking positively . If you're in the area, check them out and give them a try.
