Empanadas
Autumn S.

First impressions the restaurant was very bright and decorated well. I ordered a frozen cocktail because they 5$ drinks for happy hour. The drink was really good. We ordered the shrimp empanadas and sadly they didn't look anything like the picture. They were clearly under cooked and were cold, not even warm. I love a po boy but sadly this one under performed. The shrimp was cooked well but it was extremely under seasoned, I expected cajun seasoning but nothing. My waffle fries were very under fried as well, has no color to them. Wanted to like this place because I love Cajun food but nothing felt Cajun at all.

my pasta really wasn't that good, and I barely ate it. Didn't have much flavor and very watered down but my drink and chips and dip was really good. my empanadas came out cold too, but three stars because the server was nice.

Although we were seated quickly, it took entirely too long for us to receive our food! Way too long!!! Way too long!!! Way too long!!! Our appetizer (fried pickles) was good. The chips and salsa were unique. I ordered the etoufee and it was decent. The toast that came with the etoufee was really good!! I wouldn't order the etoufee again. The Pachanga Platter was really good and seasoned well!!! The kids menu was awesome and the kids enjoyed everything that came along with the kids menu. There are lots of TVs to watch games. I would say had it not taken so long for us to receive our food, our experience would have been better. I can say the manager was very apologetic on the amount of time it took for us to receive our food, but we wasted a lot of time.

basket ... why are they so small? FOR THE PRICE!!!

When think ORLEANS: I think flavor, spics, seasoning ! I got none of that. The fish pieces are small , the greens were half full.... for the amount yall charge it's unacceptable. Won't ever return! Hush puppies didn't even have a taste, lol. Close the entire restaurant down or re-name it.

On the house bean and cheese chips OMG! So yummy!

The food was amazing! They have awesome daily specials and their HH is great. The flavor was amazing. The prices even better. Oysters are on HH as well. The service was great! They are patio pet friendly which is a plus. Our server was very nice and even gave us an appetizer voucher for it being our first time there. Will definitely keep going on Mondays since I love bone in wings, and they're only $1 all day

When I say BBS has the best crawfish I've had in San Antonio, I mean that with my whole heart... and my burning taste buds. I always order it as spicy as they'll possibly make it because if you're not questioning your life choices halfway through the bag, are you even eating crawfish correctly? My family and I went not too long ago for my birthday and it was honestly the perfect place to celebrate. The spice level had my nose running, my eyes watering, and me still going back for more like I had something to prove. On top of the amazing food, the restaurant itself was super clean and the lighting and decorations are always fun to look at. It's one of those places where the atmosphere just makes you feel comfortable and ready to hang out for a while. Our server was incredibly sweet and made sure everyone at the table was taken care of the whole time. She checked on us often, kept the good vibes going, and made the experience even better. Overall, amazing food, great service, and a fun environment. I would absolutely come back again and again... probably with a roll of paper towels and a warning to anyone sitting next to me about the spice level.

Oops . . Forgot to take a picture before I ate it all. Lol.

Decided to try a new restaurant and stopped on in. Upon arrival, the hostess was very unenthusiastic and slow moving, but not rude. After about five minutes, we were led to our table and met by our server, Lex. She was awesome! She was knowledgeable on the and was always available with refills. We had which was exceptional, oysters with melted Parmesan cheese, which were very good and the garlic bread was amazing and then some empanadas that were exceptional.Overall, a good experience, but it did seem understaffed.

This was our first time trying this place. It was amazing. When we walked in, there were ton of seata visible but were told that it would take 20-30 minutes before we were to be seated. It maybe took 10. We were able to look at a menu while we waited which made the food come faster. We got a waitress who was training someone. Both were helpful and kept brining us refills. I have never have New Orleans style food before. The food was amazing. Everything we got had a lot of flavor. Not too powerful and not too many flavors at once. We had a appetizer, meal and a dessert. As much as I would love to eat the same items again, I need to try the other items. Price was a bit expensive but I believe for the flavor, the quantity and quality...it is totally worth it.

We ventured to @bbstexorleans in the Alamo Ranch area for Sunday lunch. Yareli was our server who took good care of us. Dad had Lemonade, Hubby had Arnold Palmer, and I had Unsweet Tea. Hubby and shared the Mad Hatter salad, which was delicious. One of the better salads in town. Dad and I shared the Rockdale Redfish. It was tasty with the butter sauce. Hubby had the Redfish Etouffee. Good cajun food!

Compared to my previous experience with DoorDash, eating here in person makes a world of difference, ESPECIALLY with the beignets. When they're fresh, they're the most incredible thing in the world, I swear. I ordered the cortado (because my mission is to taste every cortado in the city) and their brunch plate - it had scrambled (seasoned!) eggs, delicious grits, two fried green tomato slices, and the most insanely delicious and decadent praline bacon. I also ordered the beignets. My friend ordered their take on the eggs Benedict and a cup of the smoked duck gumbo. We each got to try a little bit of each other's dishes and I just can't believe how insanely flavorful it all was. I had a little bit of the gumbo get into my eggs and it was divine. The grits were my favorite grits I've ever had. The bacon tasted more like a dessert. The beignets were so soft, so light, so pillowy. DoorDash delivery does them such a disservice. This is a spot you need to experience in person in order to 'get it.' I can't wait to come back. I think we have a winner to add to our regular brunch rotation.

And yes, that is exactly what you should do here because the boils never miss. The seafood is always fresh, the sauces are flavorful, and the spice levels are not playing around. My recommendation? Stick with level 2 unless you enjoy sweating through your meal and reevaluating your life choices. My go-to combo is mussels, shrimp, crab legs, potatoes, boiled egg, and veggies. So after reading the reviews for Boudro's, we decided to roll the dice. We started with the tableside guacamole. It's fun watching it being made right in front of you, and the guacamole was good. The flavors were more subtle than bold. Solid. Enjoyable. But I'm not running out to find a postcard to send home to Mama about it. Next came a Caprese-like salad. Again, good. Again, not life changing. Then we met the bread. Oh, that bread. Flaky on the outside. Tender and fluffy inside. This was the point where Boudro's officially had my attention. I could have ordered another basket, called it dinner and walked away perfectly happy. I'm getting hungry just writing about it. Then my wife and I shared the Pollo Asado. The menu describes it as a "Grilled Airline Chicken Breast." Airline chicken? I've been flying for decades. The words "airline" and "chicken" appearing together have never triggered pleasant memories. Thankfully, I learned that this wasn't THAT kind of airline chicken. It was marinated with adobo de achiote, citrus juices and olive oil, grilled over mesquite and oak, then served with caramelized corn, black beans and pineapple pico. And it was excellent. Beautifully prepared, juicy and packed with flavor. The pineapple pico and everything else on the plate worked together wonderfully. The bread had finally found its co-star. Overall, Boudro's didn't feel like the River Walk tourist trap we'd been warned about. Not every dish knocked us over, but everything was good, the Pollo Asado was excellent, and I'm still thinking about that bread. Four stars. And I've officially forgiven them for putting the word "airline" anywhere near my chicken.
