honestly, the food was ok. however when it came to my desert it almost never came. Ordered the desert at the beginning. my server said they would bring it out a little later because my desert had ice cream. We get our food, we eat and then the server comes with the check. So i asked about the desert, she forgot to put it in. So she said she put it in however at this point i do not believe she did. We waited a little over half an hour for a cookie. With multiple excuses and even the manager coming to the table saying that they burned the cook and it would be Another 5 mins(it was way longer) and when they finally gave us the cookie, i was told i would receive a gift card through email in a matter of moments. David Light, the manager, allowed a very large group of people to take over the dining room ruining my wife's and my 46 wedding anniversary. We were on a small table next to this group. Many adults from the group were standing and or milling around talking and their children were running around. Their noise was was very disturbing. The food is really enjoyable! Well made and tasty food. They boast a "scratch" kitchen, I do agree that there is a homey feel to the meals. This is one place I do like to get desert as well. Portions are large enough to share and always well prepared. This is the type of place you leave saying, "that hit the spot". Our family visited Cheddar's on a Wednesday evening around 5:30pm and we had a small (about 30 min) wait. We had visited a different location in another state and we had a wait then as well so I'm thinking that Cheddar's is just one of those restaurants where you will most likely have to wait regardless of time you are visiting. Anywho, when it comes to the food, I am in LOVE with the honey butter croissants they give you upon being seated! Omg, I could eat 3 or 4 of them at once. I ordered a steak with bacon smashed potatoes and honey carrots. My steak was very well seasoned! I honestly think they seasoned it better than Longhorn. I didn't use any steak sauce as I didn't need any. My carrots were sweet how I like them and the potatoes were ok, they weren't very tasty but they weren't the best either. Hubby had Shrimp Alfredo pasta which he loved. And kids had chicken fingers which they liked but I didn't get a picture of those. Also I love their strawberry lemonade! It is very flavorful and they put real strawberries in it as well. They also have reasonably priced margaritas (under $5) but we didn't partake in any. Service was mediocre as well. Y'all..... I was so excited to find a Cheddars here. I loved the one in Columbus, however, it was no where near as good. One word to describe the food. Dry. Dryyy dry dry. The broccoli cheese casserole tasted days old and like it was thrown under a warmer to heat up. I never had been to one before and today for lunch I did and had the country fried chicken steak with mash and green beans. Now the fried steak and the mash potatoes also the gravy was amazing and delicious, but the beans? Lord help me! I never in my life known to put or had someone think it's a great touch to add sugar to green beans, and tons of it too. Who on earth though of that and likes this combination of flavors? It was the nastiest thing I have ever tasted and now it made me not like green beans no longer. Please manager stop doing that. It's disgusting and made me not enjoy the other great part of my food. This used to be our favorite place to eat . Not anymore. The server we had was super slow. Couldn't care less about us. Ribs and croissants were all ready out at 6 pm. I ordered the pasta with sausage, chicken and shrimp. It was greasy, lukewarm... the waitress actually recommended it! When she finally came back, I told her not to recommend the pasta. She said..."it's my favorite". I said," it's awful". She said" do you want more sauce on it"?......what? After we paid and left, I spotted the waitress outside talking to friends. I felt sorry for her other tables. There is too much competition in Pooler now. Cheddars needs to go back to their roots or they will not survive. We will never go back. read more

I dined at Cheddar's today in Pooler GA. The short young lady (Caucasian or Hispanic) at the hostess desk will need some training. She sat us but explained that no silverware was available. In addition, I requested to sit at a longer length table that she did not want to clean. She proceeded to tell me that the other young lady told her to clean the table for us. As a paying customer, that is not my concern nor is it my problem as to who told you to clean the table. Simply clean it so me and my party can be seated. Our waitress (African American young lady) was great but that hostess needs a personality that presents good customer service. Her nonverbal behavior and her verbal attitude clearly said "I don't want to be here". Lastly, the male Caucasian manager passed by our table a BUMBER of times in hopes that we would wrap up and leave. Mind you, we paid a nice price and tipped well to sit at our table to enjoy ourselves. I don't frequent this place often but decided to give it another try because i previously stopped going because of VERY POOR customer service. Well, I probably won't be back anytime soon because in all this time to perfect their customer service; it is still lacking. Food tasted but customer service is lacking. How do you run out of clean silverware when your restaurant has decreased seating; therefore you have silverware - you just gave poor staffing to keep things in balance. PLEASE get better! read more

Oh how I love Cheddars!! It was super busy but my coworker and I were able to sit at the bar and order! At first we weren't greeted as we sat down, as there were 2 workers there and I felt some type of way but I was super hungry. I decided to do the Dijon chicken with string beans and broccoli casserole as my two sides. Delicious! The flavor was soooo good and was amazing! Our waitress was super nice and I think she was trying to get us drunk before our flight lol! I ate half my meal to leave room for dessert and had the legendary monster cookie! A delightful treat! On our first night in the Savannah area, and Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen came up in Pooler (Thursday Dec 1). It had some pretty good reviews so we gave it a shot. We arrived and were promptly seated. Our waitress Megan was very friendly and answered all our questions regarding the menu. I ordered the Top Sirloin Steak (Med rare) & Ribs with a baked potato and broccoli cheese casserole with an appetizer of the honey butter croissants. My girlfriend had the country fried chicken with mashed potatoes and Southern green bean. About 5 mins after ordering, we were informed that they were out of bread and our waitress would bring some out as soon as more were ready. When the bread came out, I found them to be delicious and devoured them. About 10 mins later, the manager came out and informed us that our order had been messed up and they were working on our food. Our waitress, Megan, then brought us out a second set of croissants as we waited for our meals. It seems like a rare thing for restaurants to fess up to a mistaken and take proactive steps to keep the customers happy (or maybe that's just my experience). When the food came out, I was impressed: Steak was actually cooked med-rare and was delicious! The ribs were a smidge less than I expected after everything else, but was still very good. The country fried chicken was a lot bigger than expected but was delicious from what I was told. All the sides lived up to our expectations and were good choices. By the end of the meal we were too full to have dessert. 2nd Trip- Sat Dec 3rd: We went back to Cheddar's, and I was determined to try their monster cookie. This experience was a little different. We had a quoted wait time of 20 mins, so we waited. We ended up waiting 30+ mins, but I was really determined to try the cookie with ice cream. When we were seated, we were seated next to 4 people who had waited just about as long as we had for a table in the waiting area.. This time we ordered the chips and queso as the appetizer. She had the buffalo chicken wrapper, and I had the smokehouse burger with french fries. The chips and queso showed up in record time. We hadn't even gotten our waters yet (the thing they always seem to bring out right before/after you order your food) and thought they had mistakenly brought out to the wrong table (but we weren't going to say anything). The 4-some decided that our appetizer looked delicious and ordered theirs right after ours came out (theirs took a lot longer than ours). Our waitress was on the ball, and did a good job on doing the usual waitress stuff (making sure our food was satisfactory, beverages were full) until we were just about done. We heard a little commotion from the tables next to us (including our new friends), they're order came out wrong and they had some words with her. Then we found out she had a "rough day" and decided she had had enough and quit. Our waitress and I believe a second waitress ended up taking over her tables (that's when our service became less than what we had experienced at the beginning) which wasn't bad but wasn't great either. The Monster Cookie with Ice Cream was a let down. It must have been an off day, because the cookie came out very dry (almost like a pre-packaged and stuck in a freezer) type cookie. Our waitress took care of this for us, but I was still pretty disappointed. Overall my experience with Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen was pretty amazing. The food is fantastic, the price is right (both meals were about $25-30- which is a deal for the steak meal, about the ball park for burger and wraps in my book) the service was good, but sounds like we kind of lucked out with two fantastic waitresses. This is the second time I've been to Cheddar's (different locations) for special occasion and was not happy. We went for my mother's birthday this time. I have gone to this Cheddar's since it opened buta lot had changed. Portions have gotten smaller. Anything involving shrimp will get no more than three. Whoever cooks that food and calls the tickets need more training or help. I was missing my steamed broccoli and my father's garlic bread that came with his dish, told two waitresses and got it when I was almost finished. When I received it, it was not steamed, overcooked and covered in something with bits of garlic. I did not eat it. We did not leave feeling satisfied how we normally do. With two very disappointing trips and smaller portions, I'm falling out of love with Cheddar's. read more

Very mixed circumstances. 1--The server. A younger lady, I will not provide the name. I order vodka (Call) martinis, wet, dirty, with three spanish olives. When I did so, she stated regarding the olives, I don't know what those are. Okay, perhaps she may not, but she should refrain from stating this. And if the bartender does not know, then the waitress should return and ask for clarification. And a touch later, when reviewing the order, after stating "wet and dirty", she added, "whatever that is". Again, a sign that the woman needs some etiquette training. What I ordered is not unusual. If she is unfamiliar with it, ask the bartender. Don't stand over the customer and make commentary over the drink order. 2--The food. The onion ring appetizer was good. My wife ordered ribs and shrimp, and she was happy with them. I ordered the steak and shrimp, with broccoli and fries as the sides. The steak was ordered medium rare, and it cooked properly. However, I have to say that several of the broccoli stalks were completely raw. Not cooked at all. Now, I like raw broccoli. So, I didn't bring it to the attention of the manager. Although I should have. It was completely unacceptable for the vast majority who would dine there. 3--The bill. A pet peeve of mine. A tip is calculated on the meal, not the tax. I understand that the receipt recommended tip uses software. That doesn't mean that the software should not be rewritten. And on top of that, the lowest option was 18%. Instead of 15%. read more

Went here with the Savannah branch of the family. It's one of their favorites and very accomodating to our 16 month old grandson. I appreciated the quality of the foods-very apparent that they are hand made with attention to details. Portion size is more than ample. I'm told by my son in law that the steak & rib combo dinner is exceptional. The blended-here rib rub is so exceptional that he eschews the sauces. Great value and honest flavors make this a great family place. However the bar area looks as if it is great fun for adults! read more

Atmosphere - Large chain vibe. I did not know how large until looked online as I writing this review. Food Drinks - Water, none of the beers interested me. They had no local beers. Lunch - Maple bacon chicken sandwich, which was really a burger with a chicken breast in place of the patty. The bacon was under cooked, and that is a pain when trying to bite through it. Nothing special about this sandwich. Plating was poorly done as the cheese on the chicken had melted with French fries in it. Service - I was really in the need of better service after the fail earlier. Seated immediately. A drink request from our waitress was immediate. This was the end of a successful experience. I asked if they had local beers after I read the list, I received a very puzzled look. Okay that was a no. While my daughter was ordering she asked for the chicken tenders, which the menu calls them, our waitress asked if she wanted the chicken fingers. Why would you call them something other than what the menu calls them? I placed my order, thinking I was done with the ordering she had to question what I just ordered as if she had forgotten what I ordered in the last 10 seconds. While waiting for our food and still with full waters she asked us how everything was. In my head I am going ummm we are waiting, which my daughter repeated to me after she left. At this point my daughter could be doing a better job. After the food arrived and we started to eat my daughter grabs the empty bottle of ketchup, okay not empty one very little squirt left in it. Why would you leave that on the table? It took a while to grab anyone's attention, mind you that they were busing the table right next to us. Otherwise I would have just grabbed it off that table. After finishing our waitress came with the bill and my daughter asked for a to go box as I laid down the credit card. She walked away assuming she was getting the container. So we wait and wait. They table next to us receives their drinks, then they receive their appetizers. REALLY? She finally comes over and says sorry about five times and takes the credit card. The chicken fingers were so big they looked like dinosaur fingers obviously full of hormones or steroids!! This was without question one of the worst meals I have ever tasted, and I mean wholeheartedly a travesty!! It was literally an unmitigated, distasteful, and disturbing disaster. The sad reality was that my girlfriend called me when I was ordering and told me don't do it, but I was really hungry and figured it can't be that bad as the restaurant was pretty well close to capacity. Got here at 12:45 for lunch. At 1:15 we got our onion rings. At 2:11 we were still waiting for our waitress who calls herself mamma. To stop coming by the table and telling us how bad the kitchen runs and go get our food. I have had worse service and food before. Bit it is close. 2:15 lunch gets here. The chicken Alfredo's alfredo had run to the bottom of the bowl by the time if got here. The club was toasted in one side and soggy on the other The green beans were worse then golden coral. Table service is faster in some areas of the dinning room then others. 4 tables got here after ours and the family next to us. But we ate after them. Most places bring you refiles with out asking but mamma asked if we really needed to refile. That was a first. Another first was when mamma kept putting her wet hand on my mother in laws back and my own. Even after we leaned away from her she wanted to make that connection. Wow this place could be so much better. But the frys are good and the onion rings great so we will see read more

While the food was so good. The service was not that great. My family and I eat here at least 2 times a month and usually have great service. This time around was not that great. We had to ask for refills after our waitress walked past us 3 times. We had to ask the person that delivered our food for refills. We also had cheese fries as an appetizer but they were soggy like they had sat in grease. I always do a house salad as my second side item when I eat and they usually bring it out before the meal but it never came. We had to ask our waitress when she finally made another appearance for my salad. I had out of town guest with me and they had never been to Cheddar's and I was so disappointed in the service explaining to my house guest that it is not normal like that when we come to visit.
