This is one of my go-to neighborhood spots! The food is consistently delicious, and you really can't beat the prices. I recently had the small Greek salad with gyro meat--so fresh and full of flavor, just like every time I order it. Ok folks: WHAT WE HAD WUZzzz.... Gyro n Fries Appetizer w/ Cheese & Teziki Sauce. The Teziki Sauce was very FRESH but had NO FLAVOR & served very chilled. My FAVORITE sauce actually, just not this one. Perhaps its better served not so cold, I think that makes sense. Never had this dish but I was sure it would be very delicious. However, it was not and howwww I was ready for a hot meal. Not nasty, just tasteless and sauce too chilled and because of that sauce significantly brought that dish temp down. Whatever warmth the fries and Gyro meat had was taken by that very cold sauce. This definitely can be a very great dish. Just not so wise to have that sauce cold and tasteless Teziki Sauce. With a bit more garlic and or lemon or a pinch of salt... SOMETHING, it will better. I did eat it however but I'd suggest sampling the sauce 1st next time to make a judgment personally. Atleast it was fresh tasting. Also we had a slice of pizza with artichoke heart and Italian Sausage and whatever else the photo shows, I forgot. Wasn't prepared for the store brought version of Italian sausage. That was a surprise on my taste buds more than the sight of it being different. ABSOLUTELY DID NOT LIKE! It was like having Hilshire Farms Sausage on Pizza. No Way NO How! They apparently ran out and went to purchase those from a grocery store I was told. Pizza was good aside of that unpleasant surprise. We ordered calzone. Husband always orders that. We'll, I will just say no more. He ate his calzone. Basils has been a great place for Brunch on Sundays. But as of today their management came out with a new menu, leaving off most of the best items they had. They also decided not to have brunch any longer. There are no good spots on this island or Tybee island for brunch. This is very disappointing of a place I frequented weekly. Unfortunately, I didn't have a great experience here. I ordered the Gouda pizza, which sounded interesting and different, but it ended up being a big miss for me. The pizza was burnt, the sauce had a really bad flavor, and the Gouda just didn't work at all. The price also felt way overpriced--$18 for a small pizza and a Coke was definitely not worth it. The servers were friendly and smiled, which I appreciated, but service was pretty slow, especially considering the restaurant wasn't very crowded. It took about an hour overall. The one bright spot was the atmosphere--I really did enjoy the vibe of the place. Unfortunately, the food and service just didn't live up to it. read more

My last review was 10 years ago and it was 5 stars. No more. Something bad has happened there and it has gone downhill in the last several years. Pizza has NO taste and the server tried to argue with me about it sauce having been changed. It HAS been changed to a tasteless mush. And apparently they now have problems keeping staff. Go figure. I've driven by here many times and no matter what time of day it's packed. Finally got to check it out and see why! They have the longest and most impressive happy hour I've ever seen. It's from 11 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday. Wow! And they have beers for $2.50. Amazing. We got there a little late so will be going back for happy hour for sure. Tuesday is trivia night. We didn't play thi time just checked it out. We sat outside on the huge shaded deck. You can bring your dog so we will be going back with the pups! I had a small Caesar salad and a small pizza. It's nice they have small salad and small pizzas. The pizza was good. It reminder me of Pizza Hut pizza. My daughter order the veggie marinara and spaghetti And a Greek salad. She loves them. We've had great meals here and we've had not so great meals here. Sometimes the service is A1 last time. The service was extremely slow. We had finished our food before we got one of the pizzas. Overall, we have always had good food and good service. Everybody has their up-and-down days so I don't hold that against them. read more

I phoned in my order for pick up and the order was incomplete when I arrived. So I had to wait another 20 minutes for it to be completed, as the cashier asked me if I wanted the other part or not. I said of course, then she asked if I wanted to wait another 20 minutes and I responded with," I don't have much of a choice." She didn't say anything, not even apologize for the mistake and inconvenience. Didn't even offer me anything to drink while I had to wait because of their error. When I walked back in to pick up my ordered, I stood there for another five minutes as I was looked at from the kitchen but nobody said anything to me, just totally ignored. The customer service was the absolute worse. I feel like it has to be under new management, because when this place opened, it was a family that opened it and the service and food was really good. Great menu. The food prep and service could use improvement. I've been ordering the Greek salad for some time and it's usually missing at least one ingredient. We had a group of 9 adults and two kids: As we watched people that came in after us; come in, eat and leave while waited and received each meal came out about 20 minutes apart , appetizer came in middle of event. My Dad of 93 never got his meal the famous Greek salad . Pizza was good, lasagna was kinda disgusting and resulted in mild gastric distress to end the evening. Poor service and iffy food, a buddy of mine that used to deliver to kitchen said one glance in the back there and you'll never want to eat out again. My family has been here several times, mostly because my boys like the pizza. The food is mostly decent, and they have a rotating beer selection with some of the specialty beers that I like. We have had a mixed experience with service. Some of the servers have been really good and responsive, but we have definitely been there when it wasn't busy and got very slow service. We haven't tried trivia or happy hour. The building and interior could use an update. Unfortunately at one point my husband brought a dessert home for me that had mold on it. He returned it and they replaced it without issue but that left a bad impression that hasn't been fully rectified with subsequent visits. Requested a table for the 4 of us and got seated immediately upon arrival on Friday evening at 6:30 with no reservation! This should have tipped us off that we were in for an 'experience' we would not soon forget!! Our server promptly took our drink orders for a round of draft beers....after which we didn't see her again for 20 minutes...tip-off number two! She asked for our order for the two small pizzas and two special salads with a side of bread we wanted. 90 minutes later...still waiting for the food and no follow up on a beer reorder the entire time...so we got up to leave and they suddenly came rushing out with the cold pizzas...followed by the not very special salads 15 minutes later! Basil's used to be great. Not anymore...don't bother wasting your time here...it's miserable now and it is pretty pricey to boot! read more

Went to lunch here yesterday with my husband and we spilt a large everything pizza and it was delicious!!! We sat at the bar and our bartender Paige was very helpful and made a great Bloody Mary! My husband loves trying different beer on tap out and this place is perfect for that. Will be coming back soon! read more

Was visiting town for the first time and decided to stop in for dinner. Best decision ever! The server was so kind and helpful. They were able to split our large pizza with two different flavors and it was delicious! Loved the warm fluffy crust. We also got the pretzels and beer cheese app, 10/10 recommended! Very clean and quick service. Loads of great options on the menu. Will be back next time we're passing through! read more

The food was awful. I went and got noodles, which came out overly greasy and with a strange smell. We got there and waited over an hour for simple food, which I understand they may be packed, but for something as simple as bread to take longer than the actual food is ridiculous. Not only that the host was rude, and she wasn't even our host she just checked us out and said some back handed comments none of us had even said anything about the service but once again for simple garlic bread to come out damn near two hours later I'm in disbelief. I used to go to Basil's, and the service and food were great, and it was a nice experience. The only thing keeping that place open is the bar. read more

It was unclean on the inside and left me feeling gross. Would not recommend and will not be returning. The place used to be run good but has just gone downhil. Was my fault I didnt check the food until I got home.. for $15 per sandwich + side im not pleased with the portion sizes as pictured below.. I wanted to say a word about the fare at Basil's. In my opinion you can't find a better pizza. The crust is perfect and the toppings are fresh and delicious. Tonight was a disaster! We have been ordering take out for the last few years with little complaint. Tonight we decided to go eat there with our granddaughter, she loves the kid's pizza and there is the monitored playroom. The server kept coming back...they were out of this, they were out of that. It happens. The server asked if she could bring out our granddaughter's, because it was ready. Came out stone cold! Our sandwiches never came out! After a rediculously long wait. Service is okay it wasn't the greatest feel like they were more interested in the owner Getting married than serving tables since that was all our server seemed to want to talk about after we placed our order. While the place looked clean if you looked up at the ceiling you could see water damage to the tiles that is in your view of the tv that was focused on a room which just seemed weird to me.
