I am so torn about how to rate this definite dive bar. On one hand the pizza was pretty incredible- you can order a "slice" literally any way you want with ANY toppings or even gluten free, vegan without cheese, etc. and it is made to order. I put slice in quotes because what we got was more like 2.5 traditional triangle slices - a huge portion for $6. Pretty amazing and honestly the pizza was top notch thin crust pizza. Delicious. 5 stars. On the other hand the place is so gross - the filth is visible everywhere. They have dollar bills stapled to the walls - that's a vibe I've seen other places as well - but some of the bills were so caked in grime you couldn't tell what denominations they were. And that was just on the walls. The bar itself is made of concrete - like a super thick sidewalk. Now imagine that sidewalk with grime and grease on it. The only way to clean it would be to hose it down - but obviously that's not possible inside. They have what was once a leather sofa in front of one of the TVs in the place but it is shredded and so torn I can only imagine how drunk a person would need to be to sit there. The chairs were also torn and worn. 0 stars. The service was ... interesting. The bartenders are super friendly and very chill - but they were way too familiar and they dropped the f-bomb more than once as we ordered. From the kitchen you can hear streams of cursing and people wandering in and out - like there was a party going on in the kitchen, which makes me wonder about how safely the food was handled. We also didn't really have one server - just whoever was walking by took our drink order then another our food order and someone else brought it out and someone else checked in on us. 1.5 stars. Next, a customer brought their small dog inside the bar - clearly not a service animal. One of the men who looked like maybe a manager picked the dog up and walked around with it saying hello to what seemed to be lots of regulars. Then I saw him walk behind the bar and fix a drink - no hand washing in sight. [shudder] 0 stars. I saw a woman there with a grade school aged child in a school uniform doing her homework at one of the tables. That's not something you see everyday at a dive bar. Clearly the place has its local fans. Drinks are served in clear plastic cups. I think that's so you can take them with you to wander around outside. There's a bunch of cute little boutique shops in the same area. 3 stars. Anyway ... I don't think I'd go back to eat there - even at the outside seating area. I'd probably order pizza to go and send my husband so I wouldn't feel like I needed a shower after walking inside. read more

Perfect dive bar with incredibly good pizza. Been coming here for years, more often than not for takeout pizza. Great place to hang out as well with ample seating inside and out. Parking can be challenging but it's to be expected for Tybee. Friendly staff, cold beer, and have I mentioned the pizza is great? Bonus, the hot sauce shack next door is a great spot also. read more

This place definitely had a unique vibe, but my overall experience was just average. When we arrived it was pretty crowded, which made it hard to really relax and enjoy the visit. The energy was lively, but it felt a bit packed and a little chaotic at times. The smell inside was also a downside for me. It had a strong burned pizza smell that lingered and made the indoor experience less enjoyable than expected. The bathrooms were another issue. They were small and not very easy to get to, which made things inconvenient, especially when the place was busy. The one thing I did really like was the outside atmosphere. Sitting outside had a much better feel with a fun, laid back beach town vibe that fit Tybee Island really well. I went here with my family while visiting Tybee for lunch because we heard the pizza's were good. We were in total a party of 8 and we were seated quickly outside, which was perfect given the weather. Even though I didn't go into the restaurant the appearance looking in wasn't that great to me so I would suggest sitting outside.My Dad, Brother and I ended up sharing the cheeseburger and meat lovers pizza. I really liked the meat lover's and while I thought the cheeseburger was ok, I wouldn't get it again. I also had a margarita which was good. Huc's is our favorite on Tybee! Great atmosphere for the family...before 10pm. Fantastic atmosphere for the adults after 10 The pizza is phenomenal! You get 1/4 of a pie & the slice is bigger than your head! $6 a slice, fresh dough, with anything you want on it. I recommend the "White Honkey", it's delicious! Oh & it's only $20 for an entire pie! I stayed in a condo within walking distance and this restaurant/bar was recommended to me. Great recommendation! Definitely had a bit of a locals atmosphere (though not pretentious, nor unwelcoming), but I also believe there were plenty of people from out of town visiting that had also been introduced to this gem. I feel odd saying that we visited this place all three nights we stayed on Tybee Island. Of course, it was due to it's convenient location in relation to where we stayed, but after going on Night 1, we knew we wanted to come back. On two of our visits, we sat at the outside bar and one of the nights, we had dinner (pizza) at a table inside. All three of our visits included friendly and welcoming service. I like the prices and the overall atmosphere. The pizza was pretty good, as well as the drink selection. It was a fun atmosphere in the early evening, as well as late at night! I would definitely visit again when/if we're on Tybee Island. I would recommend to anyone visiting that area. I'd also highly recommend the attached coffee shop next door during the day! read more

We dined at Huc A Poos the first night we were in town. They had designated golf cart parking and that was fun. This is a total dive bar which I loved. We ordered a pizza and it was a 6.2 out of 10. The absolutely, positively best "dive bar/restaurant" on the island. The pizza was amazing & amazingly priced. You can buy pizza by the slice (which is pretty much 1/4 of a pizza). The Pizza is wonderful & the crust was perfect. THE BEST PART......you can get whatever you want ON...ONE.....SLICE. I'm an anchovy guy, but my family can't stand them.......rarely am I able to get a pizza "my way", but not at Huc A Poos........they get me. :) Safety tip........if you want a T-shirt they can be ordered online, but the appear to run about a size smaller than they should. I had to go inside to the bar and wait even longer just to get refills of our drinks. The pizza itself, we got the cheeseburger one and I'd be lying if I said it was bad. But unfortunately that couldn't salvage the uncleanliness & atrocious service of the restaurant. Turns out our waiter was the owner and he completely forgot about us.
