We took the on/off trolley and Vinnie Van Go-Go's was one of the stops. We didn't realize they are only open at a pizza window, but we still loved it. They offer cheese, pepperoni or pizza is the day. It is all premade so there are no changes to be made. You'd never know as the pizza slices tasted straight out of the oven, not slice reheat. You order your slice(s) and drinks and then they call your name when it's ready. The slice comes on a paper plate and is in a parchment paper bag. Makes it easy to carry multiple slices. They have outside tables available and the area was clean for outside. The slices are like having 2 slices, so don't over order. Want more? You can always grab another one. Best spot to stumble upon after an early day of drinking on River Street and a few escape games. We were headed for burgers, until we smelled this delicious pizza in the air and saw the crowd on the street level patio. Let's just say we didn't regret it and the staff were very friendly. We ordered our food to go and ate it in the square street seating area in front of the restaurant, our pizza came out piping hot in under 15 minutes. Unfortunately we were there at lunch, they only have outside seating and the menu is very limited. You had choice of plain or pepperoni slices, and there was a slice of the day. There is no real service, they take your order at a counter and they call your name when your order is ready. My wife had I had a plain and pepperoni. One slice was the size of two slices. Can I give it 10 stars. We love, love, love crispy thin crust pizza cooked to perfection. The slices are a pound at least and $5 you pick all the toppings you want! Nice little burned bubble on the crust and super fresh ingredients! We took it to go and their takeout booth was quick and efficient. Super friendly staff and made sure we got what we ordered. I love the patio seating and the best part really is people enjoying giant, and I mean giant slices while just standing in the walking mall. Definitely a destination pizza place. Be prepared for a wait. Priced decently and quick service. I've seen a few celebrities getting pizza to-go, which is telling about how much people love the food. We sit outside, which can be quite hot, especially in the summer, but the wait for inside is too long usually. You get to sit outside and look into the nearby square though and it's so pretty! As a non pizza enthusiast, I was pleasantly surprised! I always dread going to pizza places but Vinnie's made it a little more enjoyable. Customizing my own slice instead of a whole pizza made pizza seem more doable for me. The ingredients are fresh! I think the prices are extremely reasonable as well. You can even order to-go quite easily. Our waitress was so sweet! She said she made her own apron and I loved her creativity. The only thing that I didn't like was that their package the Togo for you, on a paper plate wrapped in foil and tucked in a bag so the pizza gets soggy. There were long lines for takeout orders and a 30-minute wait for dine-in (it was a holiday weekend), which made me curious and decided to try it out for dinner. Why is it that I pick a random pizza place, literally the first I ran into, and it is so fantastic, exponentially better than anything I can find near home? I ordered a slice from the outside window (dine inside also available). Unlike most places where you order a slice where they're premade and kept warmish in a case this is finish baked to order, and you can get any toppings you want. I wanted pepperoni and jalepeno. There was a bit of a wait, understandably. I was told 10 minutes but it was more like 15. It was worth it. For a little over $5 I got an enormous slice, piping hot, substantially bigger than the standard paper plate it was served on. Hard to believe but I couldn't even quite finish it! There was a generous amount of toppings and I liked the thickly sliced jalepenos. The marinara sauce was tangy and spicy, and the two kinds of cheeses (parmesan and mozzarella, some shredded and some in pieces) was just the right amount. The thin Neapolitan style crust was subtly browned underneath and had enough body that it could be easily picked up without flopping over. Very limited menu here: just pizza, calzone, spinach salad, soft drinks, and beer if you dine inside. I don't think a better pizza is even possible. Got a history lesson too. Eating at nearby Franklin Square and sitting on a bench at the striking new memorial to Haitian soldiers in the Revolutionary War. read more

Their large pizza is 22''--so, massive--and is very customizable with fresh ingredients. My wife and I split a large pizza with red sauce, artichokes, jalapeno peppers, banana peppers, and tomato (freshest sliced tomatoes I've ever had on a pizza) and it was just a no-frills, fantastic pizza. Our friends got a large pepperoni and loved it. The size of the pizza left ample left-overs for late night snacking, and the left-overs heat up great! I think this is where we went wrong, because the extra large slices we saw that other people had looked good, and the people seemed to enjoy it. But our pie was not good. The dough was awful. I was taking a trolley tour and the last stop was around these parts. I was also starving and trolley driver, Tammy, was raving about the pizza at Vinnie Van Go-Go's. Consequently I hopped off the trolley and went straight there. Now an interesting tidbit pertaining to this restaurant is that you can order to-go. I did not do that and instead opted to eat there. They sat little ol' me immediately at the bar. I ordered a pink lemonade and a slice of cheese pizza. The slice was very generous. In fact, probably the equivalent of two or three slices. But how did it taste? Well, I inhaled it like a vacuum cleaner and have no complaints (at least about the food). I think the only thing to complain about is that I felt rushed eating there. You can tell they're definitely trying to optimize the business. I say this, too, as they were formerly cash only, but they now take card and charge you for its use, so think about that. read more
