We visited Local Pie while visiting the shops in Bluffton. Overall, it was a positive experience. They have a nice lunch deal ($10 "wedge" sandwich or pizza and a soda) and a good kids menu. We enjoyed our food -- the spinach salad was good (though I wish had more spinach as there were a lot of toppings). The pizza was tasty, and I really loved the macaroni and cheese. June 28,2024 Friday night Just moved to the area and after trying every pizza in the area we found a winner. My new hair dresser nearby told me about this place. So a Friday night in Downtown Bluffton and we got a great table outside even live music! Spoiler alert I dove into eating and missed taking pictures of the main event the pizza! Started with a Coca Cola and hubby had a beer. Next an order of fried green tomatoes, tomatoes with fresh mozzarella and lastly a large pizza with meatballs subbed the tomatoes on the pie for onions. Well needless to say we ordered too much and took half home which we gladly ate the next day. The food is fresh and delicious. The service was ridiculously great! Pretty pretty good. Not bad for Bluffton tbh. Most places are closed on Sunday so we looked for options open and this popped up. We frequent many of the restaurants in downtown Bluffton but somehow missed this (maybe because pizza isn't a strength here in SC). HOWEVER, I was pleasantly surprised with my Baller pizza. I even added mushrooms because they were fresh and not canned. The crust was pretty good and didn't taste like cardboard or frozen pizza crust like some other places down here. Three people in our party ordered calzones....one had the dreaded cold center mentioned by other reviewers. Maybe stick with the pizza. Service was great - they just need to kick up the a/c a bit. I literally just walked in there was zero tables outside. No one outside seating. Inside like 3-4 tables with people seating inside. We walked in and asked for a large party they told us it was an hour 1/2 wait. For pizza? We went there last Friday and were totally unimpressed. We ordered the classic margherita pizza and it was just plain awful. The sauce was terrible, they had done weird micro green instead of real basil and the cheese was tasteless and frankly barely there at all. They are more concerned with to go orders going out fast than their dining in customers. I felt that we were an after thought to the to go business and it showed in the pizza. How in the world people rate this highly can only be explained by the area. This area must simply not have any good pizza. I've been to Local Pie quite a few times over the years and it's high time I give them a proper review! I've always thought it was a nice place to grab pizza & a beer, since we moved back to the low country this year, Kat & I have made this our after church spot on more than a couple of Sundays. The staff is very friendly and most days the ticket times aren't too bad at all. We usually get a pint and a 10 inch pie each, which with tip runs us about $50. Sundays there's usually a musician playing, but not in a loud annoying way. If you're local to Bluffton or just passing through, I'd recommend Local Pie to anyone looking for a unique pizza experience! 5/5 will keep coming back. read more

Had a nice lunch at Local Pie, they had both outdoor patio and indoor seating available plus bar top service. I loved the area it was in among shopping and other restaurants. We went to local because they had a gluten free option available, and it was DELICIOUS. Their wood fired oven gives a nice crispy crust and adds a ton of flavor to the pizza. The Costello had a combination of salty and sweet flavors and was salty and rich, the buffalo pizza had a bit of a kick and the local margarita pizza was like a typical margarita but with a bit of pesto on it instead, making it super savory! The sandwich was a crispy 10" sub with tons of flavor. We had a great time in the restaurant as well, as you can actually see the pizza being made, and our server Amanda treated us well, and was knowledgeable about the menu. I'm not sure who is running it now but my experience there the other night was not good to say the least. After frequenting an Italian family owned restaurant in CA for 28 years, Chef Coffee is closest to being there and makes a fantastic garlic pizza with parmesan cheese that will fill your senses so that you can't wait to enjoy it; simply mouth watering. You will be so fortunate if you have Madison as a waitress and Cofey as the pizza baker; so nice and accommodating!! New to the area and came across this pizza spot as we toured Old Town Bluffton on a beautiful day. We had the Buffalo Chicken Dip - delish warm and cheesy. Also had the Suped Up pizza - over all was good, but nothing special about it I would have like more sauce and cheese. We had a couple drinks Bloody Mary was spot on. First time trying local pie and we were disappointed. Wife and I ordered 2 calzones , a veggie and A 3 meat. Got 2 veggies . Simple mistake. Brought out a 3 meat minutes later and the inside was cold and cheese unmelted Sent it back and was told they'd have to make a new one because we cut into it.( Can't heat food that's been messed with. ) Second 3 meat came out , same thing Wife's veggie was supposed to have spinach, mushrooms, none of which were in it. Ordered at bar - lunch special two 10" pies with cokes. While at the bar the a/c ducts began leaking on us....ok!? Grabbed a table, server tried to delivery orders for others - twice. No Biggie. Others began receiving their food even though they arrived later than us. After 45min - we timed out and had enough. Dropped a couple bucks for the fountain drinks and left 50 mins after ordering. Pizza cook dropped the pizza peel on the ground and continued like it was no big deal! Wow! Talking loud to the side kitchen like he was at a family BBQ. Just moved to the Bluffton area, so stopped in this cute spot for pizza. Not the best first impression. Several young guys were working hard to keep up, without any leadership. Service pretty bad. They were out of the local meatballs, unfortunately. Singer was awful - didn't know the words to songs so would sing "wha wha wha"or "something something something." But when our food arrived, it was very good - good crust and fillings in calzone and sandwich. Both very large - enough to share or for someone really hungry.
