I was absolutely floored by Downtown Deli. It isn't just the seating, the decor, the lighting, or the layout and Etsy fonts throughout the restaurant - it is the feeling I felt the moment I walked in. The manager was more than just nice - she was warm, friendly, patient, and kind. She was BUSY. Phone calls, long line, deliveries, and she handled them with ease and without a drop of sweat. She was kind to every person she spoke to, including her staff, and I love that leadership. The women who brought out our food and snagged our dishes were also kind, funny, and they just knew how to best make that restaurant sing. People smiled at them because they've come here 100 times, and each time they were treated with kindness and familiarity. The FOOD. The value for dollar is HIGH here. $10.99 for a monster meatball sub with delicious meatballs and plenty of tomato sauce and cheese just melting all over this delicious sandwich. Every cheesy melty bite was amazing, per my kiddo, and when he couldn't finish it, my husband happily finished the sandwich down to the last bite. We got the Philly sandwich on a great gluten free bun and the Power Bowl with shrimp. Both were WONDERFUL! The Philly y'all. ALL DAY. The peppers, the deliciously seasoned beef, the great bun, all fabulous! The Power Bowl was filling, fresh, and I loved all the plump shrimp! I also appreciated that they put the dressing on the side! Cappy's Allergen Friendly Bakery sells their cookies here, and do NOT sleep on the Iced Oatmeal cookie. Some may hesitate because it is soy, dairy, nut, and gluten free, but that may have been one of the best cookies I've eaten ever. Perfectly balanced and chewy, not overiced, and the cinnamon in there was perfect. I savored that cookie for as long as possible. Cap all this off with some unsweet mint tea, and perfection! Great food, great service, great prices! I can't believe I never ate here before. What a gem. Plenty of parking. Downtown Deli backs up into Venue 1223 which is a rentable event hall. There are plenty of open seating tables for parties of all sizes. I met up with some friends for lunch who strongly recommended this restaurant. When you arrive, you go to the counter to place your order. The menu is written on a hanging brown roll of parchment paper. It seems as though all the prices were $10.99. They're open only for late breakfast and lunch. Beverages are all in the cooler packaged with the exception of lemonade, sweet tea, unsweet tea and mint green tea. I ordered the Reuben which was excellent. Packed with pastrami, sauerkraut and swiss---pickles on the side. After you place your order, they'll hand you a table number and will bring your food to the table. Respectfully, we bussed our own table when we were finished. We got there at 11:15. The venue gets very busy once it gets closer to noon. If there's a line or wait, it's definitely worth it. read more

Pretty deli in the heart of Bluffton. Modern farmhouse style with ample seating. They have amazing salads, sandwiches, baked goods and a nice drink selection. Pellegrino, spindrifts, sodas, high noon, beers, sweet tea and more. I have had their Greek salad before and it was amazing. Today I tried their turkey burger with sweet potato fries. Talk about heavenly. It was a generous portion on the patty while still being soft and not dense. It had a spicy chipotle type of sauce with tomatoes (thinly sliced, just right) red onion, lettuce and pickles. They put the fries in a separate box so that they didn't get soggy which was appreciated. I always get honey mustard when I have sweet potato fries and their honey mustard sauce was perfect. Finished it off with a lemon square. Super full and super happy. Can't wait to try their Gauchito next which looks amazing. read more

It was the first year, in my 60 years, on this planet, my mom, may she rest in peace, or my sister, wasn't cooking. I'll admit, I wasn't looking forward to catered food, vs homemade. Oh boy, was I wrong, and beyond pleasantly surprised! The short rib, was made EXACTLY, how our mother used to make it. It was so tender, we didn't need knives. Just like mom used to make. Incredible!!!! My niece Marisa, who works at Wink, was the one, who referred us. SO happy she did. My older brother, is critical of everything. Not this time! I just love the proximity of this cute little deli to my home and work. I love the feature of ordering online so you don't have to wait or if you can't get away from work DoorDash to the rescue. They can improve the Rueben by not serving a hot grilled sandwich in paper wrapping. Even kitchen to table made the bread soggy and not crunchy. Otherwise taste was good. Slaw topping on shrimp tacos appeared to be bagged and not fresh. Front staff taking order was not welcoming. read more

Ordered shrimp tacos with pineapple Habenero on side. Avocado was a thin spread on soft but dry corn tortilla with bed of shredded slaw and side of greasy tortilla chips. Came with 2 tacos, 3 tiny chewy shrimp, did not taste freshly made, only recently assembled. Last few visits quality has declined. Service still good, but probably won't return. read more

I tried the BLT with pimento cheese and it was devine. The pimento cheese is perfect - not too many pimentos or mayo - just right! There was TONS of bacon (you can never go wrong) and the lettuce was shredded, which I appreciated! Not a huge honking leaf on my sandwich to overwhelm everything else. My son loved his grilled cheese and fries (raving review from a picky toddler), but his most favorite thing was the pink lemonade. Start to finish, our experience was wonderful. Great find on Yelp, though the reviews may be a little over rated. It is a quaint little place with decent lunch menu of reubens, burgers, salads and more. Ordering went well, friendly young lady working the register. I decided for basic turkey reuben and sweet potato fries, and an iced tea. Need to keep the tables routinely clean for next customers, as the 2 tops were still dirty from previous customers. The tea station is self serve which is fine, but I don't like the ice being served from a freezer with sliding door on top. The ice scoop was inside, where everyone reaches inside for ice. Then when I returned for a refill, the scoop was laying on top of the metal sliding door. Could be a better, without every one's hands going in it. Sandwich arrived in timely manner, wrapped sitting next to the sweet potato fries. The fries were nice flat thin cuts, with appropriate amount of flakey salt. But they were slightly over cooked. They tasted good, and with ketchup the over cooked fries were fine. The sandwich was really good, served on rye with coleslaw. I liked coming here and will likely try it again as a new lunch option when I travel to Bluffton for work. But the ice chest set up and over cooked fries were noticeable and affected my opinion. read more

Several people recommended this place to us in downtown Bluffton. We walked in and were greeted immediately. He told us to let him know if there were any questions and he waited patiently. There was no pushiness or pressure to order. I got a fried green tomato blt and my husband got the philly. Both were excellent. There were so many other things that I wanted to try as well. The menu is very diverse. The food came out quickly and the workers checked up on us periodically even though there's no wait service and it was busy. The service was some of the best ever.
