The texture and consistency of the ice cream were exactly what you want... thick, creamy, rich, and delicious. No icy shortcuts. No weird graininess. Just top-tier ice cream. The only odd thing was that they charge a little extra for paying with a credit card, which feels a bit strange in 2026. But honestly? The service was quick (both times- don't judge me) and everyone was kind. Much better than any other spot in or around HH. I love that it's also family owned, always a plus for me. Some of the flavors we tried we would not have eaten so I am glad that they had samples. The base flavor of some of the ice cream seemed watery vs creamy and vanilla. The cookie dough and the Reese's peanut butter cup were the only ones I actually thought were decent out of the options I tried. I could see how some people love this place, but the ice cream was not for us. If I had to go back I would get mango sorbet and stay away from the ice cream. We thought perhaps they went for quantity (big scoops) over quality (I only liked 2 of the 7 flavors I tried - not all of these were samples, my husband ordered two scoops and our girls had ice cream too). They have tons of flavors so maybe we would have liked more if we had time to try more. The service was fine and the ambiance was pretty nice since we had excellent weather. Overall: definitely not worth the high cost, we would not go again.

But last night, on July 10, 2026, they were not. It was somewhat of an awkward, tourist trap like experience for me. I'm not sure I'm coming back at least for a few years. I won't belabor the points, but I feel robbed... - slow, disengaged workers (there for over an hour) - workers listening to AirPods - closed up early, walking around w drinks and closing blinds. - no waffle cones on a Friday night at prime time. I asked. They were not willing to make them either. - the scoops were so small, really small. Putting a value of it, I estimated for the amount and size I was paying about $35-$40 per pint. That is just too much. - the was a pregnant lady in the waffle area. I'm gonna give Kilwins the benefit of the doubt and say they were doing a kind gesture to a person in need. But it was an awkward atmosphere, very awkward, so I do wonder a bit at least. I love Kilwins. Hope they get their act together. But be aware. It might not be the Kilwins you knew on a previous visit.
