    Spring tacos and chips

I went to a local hangout of a friend while visiting. Ordering was easy at the bar for items made from scratch. I got shrimp tacos and chips and my friend got a pizza. Both of us enjoyed our meals and lunch outside. Another time I would like to try one of the pizzas.

Cozy cafe with great staff and the best sandwiches. Get a load of this club! Best I've had in years.

I wish I had discovered Sprout Momma Breads sooner! I ended up here after a disappointing experience at Carolina Coffee and Crumbs, based on a local's recommendation, and I'm so glad I listened. They have a great selection of items, and everything looked amazing. The morning I was leaving town, my girlfriend and I stopped by for breakfast. From the moment we walked in, the staff was welcoming, and the pastries and breads on display were absolutely mouthwatering. I ordered the French toast, which was fantastic, and my girlfriend had the croissant with egg and sausage. The croissant was buttery and flaky, the sausage was high-quality, and the sandwich included a perfectly fried egg and what I believe was white American cheese. Everything was delicious, and the coffee was excellent--easily one of the highlights of the meal. Before leaving, I grabbed a loaf of sourdough bread to take home, and it was just as impressive. I made an open-faced sandwich with it, and the flavor and texture were spot on. You can tell they put so much care and love into their food. Now that I know about this gem, it's going to be my go-to spot for breakfast whenever I'm in town. Highly recommend!

Everything about this place is great. Vacationing in HHI for a couple of weeks, we found this place on the second day. We're so glad we did!! Started with breakfast most mornings here. The avocado toast is amazing and the pastry selection sooooo good. We ate outside every time we visited but the inside of the restaurant is beautiful, in case the weather isn't great. The staff here are all very nice and accommodating. I would recommend this high on the list for anyone coming to HHI. Also, don't miss the AWESOME pizzas. Took a load of sourdough for our freezer and a fond reminder of these amazing bakers!

Best meal we've had during our family vacation. Every dish was fresh, tasty and portioned well. The service was impeccable. Kid friendly and we loved the additional speciality coffee drink bar. Highly recommend for any day of the week. My personal favorite were the cheese grits. Wow. Thank you Sprout Momma we'll be back!

Food was spectacular, so light and refreshing especially with so much fried food around town. The owner and hostess were very nice. You do have to order at the counter but service was fast and the salad was gluten free so yum!

Be aware about 5 napkins are required when eating one of their sandwiches! They're big, they're drippy, they're delicious, and they're shareable. I asked the waiting customers if they had eaten at Sprouts before and everyone gave an enthusiastic nod and thumbs up. Outside dining or take out only during COVID. Mask required. The high Yelp rating inspired my stop for lunch at Sprout Mommas. Sandwiches come with a side of Cole slaw and dill pickle spear. The Groovin' Reuben, $14, had layers of pastrami, Swiss, sauerkraut, Russian dressing grilled on Jewish rye. It was served piping hot and generous with pastrami. Very good. The Greek Shrimp Pita, $14, with lemon garlic, shrimp, tomato, feta, cucumber, roasted peppers, kalamata olives with House vinaigrette was equally packed with flavor, fresh and delicious! Breads and pastries made in house include a variety of yeasty yummies: Rustic Italian, sour dough, cinnamon rolls sticky buns - just to name a few. I'll be back!

We will definitely be back and plan to make this a regular stop. We ordered a variety of subs, including a chicken salad sub, a turkey and avocado sub, and a pastrami Reuben (they all have names and numbers on the menu, which makes ordering easy). Every sub was a hit, but the real standout was the bread. It was hands down one of the best parts of the meal--fresh, flavorful, and honestly addictive. As someone who loves Jersey Mike's bread, this was far superior. We paired our subs with Vick's chips and sodas, which rounded everything out perfectly. We sat inside since the outdoor seating was full, and the interior was filled with memorabilia and details that really told the story of the place and added to the experience. It felt welcoming and full of character. The owner--or the gentleman working the register--made the experience even better. He was constantly checking in, taking orders, delivering food, and making everyone feel at home. His positive attitude and ability to juggle everything so seamlessly truly stood out and made us want to return. Between the outstanding subs, the warm service, and very reasonable prices--especially while traveling--this place checks all the boxes. We'll absolutely be back and only wish we had one back home.

He told us Gruby's had some of the best sandwiches he'd ever had anywhere, and after eating there... I get it. Founded in 1987 by the Gruber family, Gruby's was created to bring a proper taste of New York deli culture to the South, and they've absolutely nailed it. The place was buzzing when we arrived. Fast-moving staff, packed tables, stacks of sandwiches flying out of the kitchen... pure deli energy. I ordered the NY Reuben with a dark cherry Dr. Brown's, which felt like the only correct beverage choice. True to the online description, the sandwich was hilariously overstuffed and definitely a two-hander. The balance of warm corned beef, tangy sauerkraut, melty Swiss, Russian dressing, and grilled rye was spot on. Every bite was a glorious, leaning tower of deli chaos. I was stuffed halfway through but powered on anyway, taking down the second half, the pickle spear, and the coleslaw because stopping simply wasn't an option. My daughter got the Bronx Bomber, my wife had the Nova Lox with scallion schmear, and my son demolished the Philly cheesesteak. Huge portions across the board and barely a crumb left behind. Service was quick, friendly, and efficient despite the crowd, and the whole place had that authentic family-run feel that makes you want to linger a little longer. We'll defo be back.

I skipped the Fish & Chips and ordered the hamburger described as "Custom Blended Beef" and the Chips as the side selection. I would rate the Hamburger at a solid 5 out of 10 and the Chips at 8. My fiancee ordered the Ruben with French Fries. She rated her sandwich as just okay stating the sauerkraut was just bland. I tried the sauerkraut and she was correct, as always, it was just bland. On a side note, a family a eleven came into the outside dining area. The server pulled two square tables together to seat six and pointed to a side round table to seat five. As the server went inside the family had a discussion and pulled the two square tables and two round tables together so they could all sit as a group. The server reemerged and was not amused. The family stated that the barmaid inside said that they could all sit together. Somehow, we still waited 35 minutes just to be seated. After finally sitting down, we ordered immediately and then waited over 40 more minutes for food that wasn't even hot. To make matters worse, two of the orders were wrong. The pancakes came out with no syrup, and our server was basically nonexistent, only showing up twice in an hour, so we had to get up and get it ourselves. The poached eggs on the fourth meal were severely undercooked and practically raw. What made the experience even worse was having two young children with us who were completely melting down by the end because everything took so long. A restaurant should know better than to leave families sitting that long with no urgency, no communication, and no follow-up. What should have been a simple breakfast turned into a two-hour waste of time with bad service, poorly prepared food, and zero attention to detail. There is no excuse for this level of incompetence. I would absolutely not recommend this place.
