If you love Greek food as much as I do, go straight to Yia Yia's! The food is delicious, perfectly seasoned and cooked, and the prices are awesome. It's refreshing to enjoy a reasonably priced meal in Savannah. The gyros are huge! The lamb gyro has French fries inside the gyro. You can ask for them in the side if you prefer. There are lots of meat and plant based dishes. Greek pizzas, the best souvlaki you've ever had and desserts! Oh my! The variety of the desserts in the case is overwhelming and hard to choose just one. My favorite meal is the Greek Veggie Plate with hummus, pita bread, dolmades, spanakopita, olives and feta. Best deal in town for $9! Yia Yia's has a small selection of grocery items and wines to take home. Friendly counter service, indoor and outdoor seating and great food! read more

The service- Very welcoming as soon as you walk in the door. The food was delicious and plentiful. I had the chicken souvlaki salad! So good and so fresh. Before I left I got the baklava and kourabiedes to share with the office. My new favorite Greek Restaurant of all time. I will make this my regular spot for a delicious lunch! read more

The food and service is always top notch. The restaurant is nice and clean. You can tell it's a local gem. The gyros are my favorite.

I ordered from here when they were 8 minutes from closing. I was craving a Greek Salad with chicken and fries. I thought it would not be great because it was the end of the day. Also, I ordered off DoorDash. Yikes! Well, like many times before, I was wrong. Haha This salad was really delicious. I ordered extra dressing and extra feta cheese. They gave a lot of both. Now I am funny when it comes to salad dressing. I like to try it before putting it on my salad. I did not love it by itself. But it tasted great on the salad. No ketchup included with my fries. It's a Greek think I guess? Anyway, the fries were pretty good. Luke warm but I bet they would have been much better real hot. I actually wanted to order from here the next day. I was disappointed they are closed Sundays so I was out of luck. They deserve a day off for making such delicious food. read more

The Gyro is perfection !!! Just the right amount of toppings !!! A few places locally use way too much feta , Yia Yia's uses the perfect amount . Perfect birthday dinner read more

First time eating here and will not be my last time. I had the classic gyro and my son had the meatball pita pizza. We both enjoyed our lunch. We also took home several bakery items for later. So good!!! It's a small place in the middle of a neighborhood, but don't let that fool you. If you like Greek food, or are ready to try Greek food, this is your place. read more

Was disappointed that our gyro bread was hard as a brick. my friend couldn't eat his with his sensitive teeth . And our fries were lukewarm and came out immediately, which means they were sitting under a heat lamp long before we came into the restaurant . I've been in the restaurant before and the bread wasn't like that and the fries weren't old but they were tonight. The bread was too old. Inexcusable. My friend understandably said he would never eat there again. read more

Just wow. Some of the best Greek food in the city. My #1choice for takeout in Savannah.

Updated review. I had a large gyro with extra lettuce instead of fries. Nice size gyro . We also had a chicken philly sub that was very good. We ended the meal sharing a large dessert based on Baklava with one end coated in chocolate. Updates to the restaurant: a few more table and less shelves of Greek produce. I bought a Halava for the road. New extra ceiling fans for a pleasant dining experience. Expanded outdoor seating on the side of the building. Clean, efficient, and great tasting food. I just had mousakka at Troy Restaurant a few days ago so I saved that for my next visit. We will be back. read more

Got chicken souvaki salad and gyro salad take out. Both salads were large and fresh. The feta cheese was really good as was the dressing. This is an old school restaurant, bakery and market, so we had to try baklava cheesecake. It was good, but also sort of an odd mashup. But points for trying! Next time we'll go with the traditional baklava. Also the market has a nice selection of Greek wines. read more

Tucked away in Habersham Village you'll find Yia Yia slinging gyros to the masses. Cool neighborhood style deli with a wide variety of options on menu as well as takeout beer & wine. I went with the large Feisty Feta... it has a divine tomato feta spread that I enjoyed stuffed with fries & beef - although I did enjoy my wife's chicken version better as it had a bit more depth in flavor On Friday's they make a special chamomile iced tea that made me smile after every drink - the "nightcap" for us was the baklava cheesecake... a must have when visiting. Overall it was a good experience, and although the beef gyro tasted a bit generic, everything else was unique and exceeded expectations. read more

Food and service was great. I will be going back. This is a great lunch spot and the bakery is fantastic.

We live only about three blocks away from this place and love take out. Sometimes they are a little stingy on the meat when I get a Greek salad, but I usually have enough. The desserts are amazing! read more

We were in Savannah for a celebration weekend and needed catering for our group of 11 at our Airbnb. Choosing Yia Yia Kitchen was the best decision!! Working with Billie was soooo incredibly easy and fun. She helped me make all the selections, and even delivered and set up the food. The level of service I experienced during the planning process was unbelievable. The food is absolutely fantastic and we ordered enough to last us all weekend long. If you were reading this review and trying to make a decision on who to pick for your catering or a meal while in Savannah, look no further. They're the best!! read more

Cute neighborhood spot! Super friendly service and tasty food. There were only a few gluten-free options, but they were very accommodating and worked with me until I was able to find something that made me excited for lunch. I got a Greek salad with chicken. The ingredients were very fresh and delicious. I enjoyed every bite. We also got ice cream for dessert. They has some super fun flavors and I loved every bite. I left off one star because the inside was very smoky. I don't know what was going on, maybe poor ventilation from the grill, but the whole room had a layer of smoke. It was a little uncomfortable- but not so uncomfortable for us to want to eat outside on a hot Ga summer day! This place seems like a good spot to order for pick up. I saw a lot of people doing this. Might consider grabbing food from her and eating it at the park? read more

An authentic Greek market in the heart of Savannah the location I wouldn't have guess it because it comes off a main through-fare in a higher end residential area. The market reminds me of an old mom and pop store. It's a rarity to find those types of places and to my delight the Greek delicacies was the best I had a in very long time. The dishes are made to order so once you figure out what you want they immediately start preparing your order. They give generous portions and even offer bigger sizes of the gyros. I opted for the Greek gyro that had thin strips of lamb and beef that weren't saturated with seasoning nor greasy. It was light and also paired with Greek fries mixed in the meat it made the smaller portion gyro I ordered more filling. I also tried the falafel and hummus OMGoodness they were not greasy and tasted so good. I love Mediterranean seasonings and this place uses it so well. They also offer a variety of beverages and I tried their bottle lemonade it was worth it! So light and satisfied my thirst. A meal is not complete until you had dessert. I had the baklava cheesecake....it was SINFUL but worth every bite. It wasn't too heavy but a light sugary dessert if you can even fathom that! Enjoy your visit and order what appeals to you. You will not be disappointed. read more

Gyro meat doesn't have authentic flavor, I have had a cold gyro before and today I tried them once again for the gyro salad, only to be disappointed. If i wanted 2 Tzatki dressings I would have to pay for the 2nd one. The Tzatki DRESSING tasted old not thoroughly mixed. It tasted like sour cream instead of yogurt. never going back again. Great food! So fresh, made to order. The staff were amazing. They were attentive and engaged with the customers amd delivering some amazingly prepared dishes! I will return! Me and a friend both order thr greek style gyro, fries, and a coke! The pita was as soft as a pillow, tomatoe was huge, and the meat was packed in, this was a big sandwich! I do not like tomatoes but I had feeling (let's call it women intuition) that led me to leave the tomatoe on the gyro. It was the perfect addidition to the spread and meat. I purchased a queenie, which is a pastry dessert shell filled with honey, cinnamon, and nuts. I unfortunately ate it before snapping a picture & it was quite tasty. read more

Four stars for the friendly staff and cool selections in the grocery store, as well as the quiet atmosphere. Three stars for the food. The gyro comes with fries in it, which is strange. The meat was dry, not moist like some gyros I've had in the past. There was definitely as deficit of sauce. Luckily you can ask for more, and they won't charge you like some places do, but the sauce itself is also on the drier side. So far I prefer the gyros over at Troy, although there are some other spots I need to try in Savannah first. Not bad, but not mind blowing. Perfect if you live in the neighboring area. read more
