It's refreshing to enjoy a reasonably priced meal in Savannah. The gyros are huge! The lamb gyro has French fries inside the gyro. You can ask for them in the side if you prefer. There are lots of meat and plant based dishes. Greek pizzas, the best souvlaki you've ever had and desserts! Oh my! The variety of the desserts in the case is overwhelming and hard to choose just one. My favorite meal is the Greek Veggie Plate with hummus, pita bread, dolmades, spanakopita, olives and feta. I ordered from here when they were 8 minutes from closing. I was craving a Greek Salad with chicken and fries. I thought it would not be great because it was the end of the day. Also, I ordered off DoorDash. Yikes! Well, like many times before, I was wrong. Haha This salad was really delicious. I ordered extra dressing and extra feta cheese. They gave a lot of both. Now I am funny when it comes to salad dressing. I like to try it before putting it on my salad. I did not love it by itself. But it tasted great on the salad. No ketchup included with my fries. It's a Greek think I guess? Anyway, the fries were pretty good. Luke warm but I bet they would have been much better real hot. I actually wanted to order from here the next day. Was disappointed that our gyro bread was hard as a brick. my friend couldn't eat his with his sensitive teeth . And our fries were lukewarm and came out immediately, which means they were sitting under a heat lamp long before we came into the restaurant . I've been in the restaurant before and the bread wasn't like that and the fries weren't old but they were tonight. The bread was too old. Inexcusable. Updated review. I had a large gyro with extra lettuce instead of fries. Nice size gyro . We also had a chicken philly sub that was very good. We ended the meal sharing a large dessert based on Baklava with one end coated in chocolate. Updates to the restaurant: a few more table and less shelves of Greek produce. I bought a Halava for the road. New extra ceiling fans for a pleasant dining experience. Expanded outdoor seating on the side of the building. Clean, efficient, and great tasting food. Got chicken souvaki salad and gyro salad take out. Both salads were large and fresh. The feta cheese was really good as was the dressing. This is an old school restaurant, bakery and market, so we had to try baklava cheesecake. It was good, but also sort of an odd mashup. But points for trying! Tucked away in Habersham Village you'll find Yia Yia slinging gyros to the masses. Cool neighborhood style deli with a wide variety of options on menu as well as takeout beer & wine. I went with the large Feisty Feta... it has a divine tomato feta spread that I enjoyed stuffed with fries & beef - although I did enjoy my wife's chicken version better as it had a bit more depth in flavor On Friday's they make a special chamomile iced tea that made me smile after every drink - the "nightcap" for us was the baklava cheesecake... a must have when visiting. Overall it was a good experience, and although the beef gyro tasted a bit generic, everything else was unique and exceeded expectations. read more

I left off one star because the inside was very smoky. I don't know what was going on, maybe poor ventilation from the grill, but the whole room had a layer of smoke. An authentic Greek market in the heart of Savannah the location I wouldn't have guess it because it comes off a main through-fare in a higher end residential area. The market reminds me of an old mom and pop store. It's a rarity to find those types of places and to my delight the Greek delicacies was the best I had a in very long time. The dishes are made to order so once you figure out what you want they immediately start preparing your order. They give generous portions and even offer bigger sizes of the gyros. I opted for the Greek gyro that had thin strips of lamb and beef that weren't saturated with seasoning nor greasy. It was light and also paired with Greek fries mixed in the meat it made the smaller portion gyro I ordered more filling. I also tried the falafel and hummus OMGoodness they were not greasy and tasted so good. I love Mediterranean seasonings and this place uses it so well. They also offer a variety of beverages and I tried their bottle lemonade it was worth it! So light and satisfied my thirst. A meal is not complete until you had dessert. I had the baklava cheesecake....it was SINFUL but worth every bite. It wasn't too heavy but a light sugary dessert if you can even fathom that! Enjoy your visit and order what appeals to you. Four stars for the friendly staff and cool selections in the grocery store, as well as the quiet atmosphere. Three stars for the food. The gyro comes with fries in it, which is strange. The meat was dry, not moist like some gyros I've had in the past. There was definitely as deficit of sauce. Luckily you can ask for more, and they won't charge you like some places do, but the sauce itself is also on the drier side. So far I prefer the gyros over at Troy, although there are some other spots I need to try in Savannah first. Not bad, but not mind blowing. Perfect if you live in the neighboring area. read more

If you're in the mood for a quick gyro then pop in. If you need to pick up 5 pounds of feta cheese then pop in as well! Yia Gia's is a nice little Greek deli with gyro's, salads, and some other classic Greek items. The left side is also a mini Greek grocery store where you can pick up good classic ingredients. Everything is solely Greek basked (obviously) so I can see how this place is very beneficial for some people in the area. Their desert bar was huge and for that I'll definitely be back for some baklava cheesecake, mark my word. For me in my first time I chose the gyro with the fries (bc thats just the only way) and it was pretty good! Not the best gyro I've ate but definitely a good idea for a quick lunch one day.
