We ordered takeout here a couple of nights ago. Unfortunately, the chips to our artichoke (Santa Fe) dip were missing along with the sauce for the salmon we ordered. Nonetheless, my husband wanted something from there 2 days later. I figured why let one mistake keep us from returning. I called and asked then to just add the chips and dip to the order tonight since we didn't get to enjoy the ones we paid for. The manages was RUDE and had EXTREMELY poor customer service. He told me he could not look up my previous order using my online receipt that they sent to me and had an oh well attitude. He kept questioning me as though I was making this up. He even questioned whether i had placed an order for tonight as I indicated to him. WE WILL NOT RETURN. I value customer service and business being open to correcting mistakes...especially with such a simple request. read more

We brought some customers here for lunch since it was close to the ship channel and I was very pleasantly pleased as we have a Cheddars in GA but not the same. A large place and a traditional bar and grill atmosphere, we sat in the bar area with about 6 of us. Our server was spot on and got us going quick which I like. Food selection was large- so some had a light fish and veggie plate which was quite good, and there was a great BBQ burger, and other craft burgers and I had a chicken pecan salad that was not only huge, very tasty. Another had a grilled shrimp salad, also large and very good according to the crowd. Very crowded, convenient location just off the beltway so highly recommend for lunch or dinner if in the area. read more

me and my friends ate here and overall the service was OK but the food was terrible. The croissants were good and we ordered the trio appetizer and the chips were stale and cold and we asked for more chips and got more style and cold chips. chicken tenders were a little off. My coworker would not stop talking about the croissants from Cheddars so when there was an outing planned at work, I was in. This Cheddars is off of the Beltway after Vista. We made plans to get there by 12 on a Saturday morning. We were seated pretty quickly although we were a group of 10. I ordered the croissants(of course), and of course they were wonderful! I LOVED their buttery taste. As my entree I ordered the Tilapia with mango sauce with a side of broccoli and red beans, the meal comes with rice. My meal was oh so GREAT!!!! I enjoyed it so much I was tempted to order dessert, but thankfully was able to resist! lol. The service was pretty good although they were a little slow serving the food, or maybe I was just too hungry to wait? I am definitely a fan of Cheddars and cant wait to go back and try their drinks! Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen...as in, scratch it off your list. It pains me to write this, because everyone in our family has always LOVED Cheddar's! But give them 3 months off for a pandemic and they forget how to cook, I guess. We were all very disappointed. Don't get me wrong...we were all very grateful they were open and hosting sit-down dinner. They are operating a reduced menu, which we can totally understand under the circumstances. (I won't write about the several favorite menu items they had already taken off the menu before the pandemic!) But today, the food was just not good. Not a single one of us (family of 6) was content with our meal. My son ordered grilled white fish that I would bet my paycheck was grilled chicken, and no one at the table could say it wasn't chicken. We still don't know if they messed up the order or if that was white fish! My oldest daughter ordered the cheeseburger that was so overcooked that she couldn't chew parts of it. My steak was also overcooked to the point of well-done (I asked for medium). The mashed potatoes on all the plates were bland and the broccoli and cheese casserole?...well, I used to have dreams about how delicious this tasty side dish was, but it seems they changed the way they make it! Nooo!! It reeked of Campbell's soup and NOT the awesome homemade, chunky-broccoli/creamy-cheddar side of awesomeness I had come to expect from the place. Service was ok. I had to send back my chicken fried chicken twice. First time the chicken was rubbery. Took about 20-25 min to get my chicken again. Second time it was FOUL. The chicken was pink! We asked for a seasonal beer, our server Oscar said it was Oktoberfest so we said okay. The manger brought it out and said "Sam Adams?" I looked at my husband and asked if he was okay with it. He looked at the manger and said," I thought it was Oktoberfest on draft" and the manger's smart remark was," it's January!" It was my first time at Cheddar's and I loved it! The Honey Butter croissants were to die for and me and my friends ordered another batch! I ordered the Lighter Side Salmon which came on top of rice, as well as with two sides. For the sides I ordered steamed broccoli and macaroni and cheese. The salmon was amazing and the rice had a lot of flavor. The steamed broccoli was also good and the macaroni and cheese was decent. I was very happy with the price of this meal because usually salmon is more expensive. I also really enjoyed the versatility of the menu. My friends ordered Alfredo pasta and ribs. Good common fair. The coleslaw with my shrimp is the best and it is homemade at the restaurant. We like this place when we are having a late lunch and not during the rush times. I've passed by Cheddar's hundreds of times, it always seems to be crowded. I thought surely they are doing something right. Decided to check it out tonight. I had no explications, had no idea what to expect. Looking at the other diners, seemed to be a bit of an older crowd, but that's ok. The menu is pretty diverse, a little bit of everything. I settled on the BBQ chicken. Comes with two sides, I got a salad and corn. The salad was $1 extra. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Can totally see coming back. This is one of those places you can go for a diner style meal, in a restaurant chain type of way. You know the kind of place that serves the usual comfort food, chicken fried steak, catfish (fried, blackened, or grilled), chicken pot pie - BUT, with a bar and some interesting (and potent) mixed drinks. They also take some of those meals and add their own twist to make it their own - try the Dijon Chicken. The chicken pot pie is one of my favorites. Although it's not the best place I know to get homestyle cookin', I'd still give it 3 1/2 stars, but that's not an option (and it just isn't a 4 star for me.) I am extremely disappointed in the service we received today (my birthday). I was absolutely disgusted to find a cockroach floating inside my Texas Tea!! This must be a normal issue for them as they were quick to snatch the drink out of my hand before I could get a picture of it! To make matters worse after the manager coaxed me into continuing our dinner my husband's chicken fried chicken had a long hair in it. At this point we just decided to leave. The Cheddars chain of restaurant in Texas had always intrigued me but I failed to ever visit one due to having formed the opinion that they must only serve dishes made entirely of Cheese. Stupid I know but, my logic said it must be true. At this point I must give thanks to that other Texan institution, 'The House of Pies'. When i visited that place I was expecting to sit down to gorge on Steak & Kidney or Mushroom & Chicken pies or even that holy grail, "The Sheperd's Pie". I was mortified to discover that none of that manna was present on their menu. Quiche, Tart, Tres Leches and Meringue ARE NOT PIES!! HoP left me mentally scarred and I vowed never to return. The upside of this was I was forced to reconsider my opinion of Cheddars as being slightly lopsided. So finally ..... I went to Cheddars. I loved it and at the same time was devastated that I had failed to ever visit here during all my time in Texas. Bumma. Cheddars has a well balanced menu and their staff are polite, efficient and speedy with it. I had the Beer battered Shrimp (yeah, i know, anything with alcohol) and it was perfect. We sat at the bar and were served rapido and I even got the chance to taste Jaire's Tilapia with mango sauce. It was yummy. The whole ambiance of the location was perfect and some of that was probably to do with my companion and, to top it off, Jaire picked up the tab. I can't add a star for that but, hey! ..... If you have never been then you are missing out .... it knocks the crust off House of Pies for sure. read more

Recently, we moved the SE area of Houston. We aren't in any of the nice suburbs, so we end up going back into town or just recently, we started exploring the Pasadena area. I am shocked but Pasadena is actually flourishing. Anyways, I was driving on Beltway when we looked over and was shock to see a Cheddar's. It had been over 3 years since myself or Hanh had been and we both looked at each other and was like the croissants are so good! So we told ourselves this was what we were going to have for dinner. We got there and sure enough the croissants were still up to what we had remembered. We also ordered some of the combos, I really did forget how affordable this place is. You can get steak and ribs for ~$13 bucks? with two sides! It's not the best by any means, but it is decent and a damn good value. read more

I'm definitely a fan of Cheddars! This place is ALWAYS packed when I drive by. So I'm not the only one that feels this way! Ever since it opened, it stays busy. One of my FAVORITE items to order are their honey butter croissants! They are truly HEAVEN!!! I could go there and just order a few of those and be completely happy! They are fresh and they melt in your mouth! I usually order the Chicken Fried Chicken with green beans and mashed potatoes. I really like that you can order their lunch-size portions for dinner as well! I loved their mashed potatoes. Very tasty!! My boyfriend usually orders the Fried Catfish lunch portion and he loves it too. Their lunch portions are very filling. Their prices are VERY reasonable too. We sometimes order appetizers. We have tried the onions rings and queso. Both were very good! I was surprised the queso would be sooooo yummy since it's not a Mexican restaurant. We will definitely be back! read more

We love going to Cheddar's as a family. There's plenty of free parking. Depending on when you go & size of your dining party, there's usually a wait. For appetizer, I usually get the chips & queso (free ground beef & unlimited chips). Nice sized portions. Wide drink & food selection. Usually too full to even get dessert.
