I love Cheddars! I've visited a few of their locations throughout the Bay area and all of them were a great experience! Whether it's for lunch, dinner or just cocktails, it never disappoints. Today I went for lunch on a shopping trip to the Tampa Outlet. We arrived around 12:30, the prime lunch time crowd, but were seated immediately in the large dining area. A waitress promptly stopped by the table for our drink and appetizer order. The drinks came out immediately and tje stack of onion rings shortly followed. The waitress kept refilling our drinks and checking on our status. The food arrived in a timely fashion. My son ordered a chicken with maple bacon sandwich. The candied bacon was sooooo good; sweet and perfectly cooked! He also had a bowl of their thick and cheesey potatoe soup. My daughter ordered the kid's grilled cheese and said it was the best she ever had. I en joyed a cup of their chicken tortilla soup with a side of corn. The soup was good and corn was buttery. The prices are very reasonable, the entire bill was under $40. Although their food is always delicious, I feel that their service is impeccable. I ordered the key west chicken and shrimp entree while my boyfriend had the buffalo chicken wrap a featured item on the menu that is supposedly a customer favorite. My entree was mediocre to say the least. The blandest chicken and rice I've ever had overall the quality of chicken definitely seemed on the low side- rubbery and chewy. Took one bite of the buffalo chicken wrap and couldn't continue the only reason it wasn't taken off the menu is because I work in the service industry and felt embarrassed to do so. First off I'd like to say, the servers that served us this evening were awesome. Great attitude and all. Now.... as far as the kitchen crew, I'm not to sure about. Could have been a bad night for you guys, but as a customer I shouldn't know that. The food presentation was a disgrace. I will have to critique the servers a little bit. If you are aware that kitchen doesn't have enough fries to bring out along with my burger, that's fine. Communicate that! Don't place nasty old leftover fries from the last batch, and place them next to my fresh burger. However, they did bring out fresh fries eventually. I also expected to receive a bowl (side) of mac and cheese. Not three bites of mac and cheese. My son looked at that tiny bowl and said, "that's it?!" Often, pictures are worth a thousand words, not this time. My sister and myself decided to eat lunch here based on some food pictures. That was a mistake. We arrived and entered the restaurant, the first thing we notice was the "aromatic" scent of egg. This permeated the restaurant. The restaurant was set up in a functional manner. It was rather dark even though it was about noon. The servers and other staff were very friendly. My sister and I started with water and cocktails. The cocktails were well presented and pleasing to our taste buds. We had the cheese fries as an appetizer. Unfortunately, they were not as tasty as they appeared. I ordered the lunch combo with the "homemade" baked potato soup and buffalo chicken wrap. The soup resembled flavors and texture of a number of creamy canned soups. The temperature, let's just say that my Nana would have sent it back to the kitchen to finish heating. The wrap, maybe they meant something other than what I interpreted as "buffalo sauce." Also, it was a bit overloaded with shredded cheddar cheese. I requested the dressing to be on the side and instead of ranch, I requested bleu cheese. My dressing was served on the side, but it was ranch. As soon as I was able to gain the attention of my waitress, I once again , requested a side of bleu cheese dressing. My sister ordered the strawberry salmon salad without the strawberry vinaigrette; instead, she requested balsamic vinegar; she also ordered a side of southern green beans. The salad arrived with the strawberry vinaigrette and NO Strawberries. She didn't receive the southern green beans until after she mentioned they missing to the server, along with the strawberries for her salad. Both were delivered a short time later. Sadly, the southern green beans were not green beans, they were a type of broad bean and she reported the salad was quite bland. Upon arrival, I was anticipating dessert. Once our food arrived and we sampled our meals, I/we decided against dessert as we anticipated disappointment. Also, appears plate clearing as each dish or glass is no longer needed it not an important task at this establishment. When eating here remember, this is chain food. This has to be the worst restaurant in the area. Do everything you can to avoid it. We were very excited to try it at it does have a nice appeal and atmosphere. Nothing wrong with the service. It was just the food that was terrible. My chicken was rubbery and like what I would expect a rubber chicken to taste like. The "fresh" mushrooms that came on this dish were literally a can of whole mushrooms opened and dumped on the chicken after it was cooked. So the chicken was hot and the canned mushrooms were cold. My wife's asparagus was so over cooked you could mush it with a fork. It is the first time I have ever said I didn't like the food when the waitress asked how was everything. We've been coming to this place since it opened. At first the food was good, but years past it's not as good as before. We ordered chips with melted cheese with beef and the chips were burnt and soaked with oil ( not happy about it though my kids finished it) I ordered Salmon with shrimp over rice, the salmon was a bit salty and I had only 4 small pieces of shrimp. Over all it was just ok.. service was good, our server was good. Interesting seeing folks who came in after eat and leave before we got our food. So Cheddar's bills itself as a scratch kitchen. Well, they have extremely liberal views of what that is. The food quality was on par with Sheri's, Applebees, Denny's, etc. Basically, low quality food with no inspiration or freshness from the kitchen. Really Cheddar's!? Really!? So my friends were raving about you and I was really excited when we all decided to come here for dinner as I'm from Chicago and was just visiting. First of all - our order took forever to place. We placed our drinks, and the waitress left. After a loooonnng time, she came back and was like sorry, your drinks are on there way, and when she tried scurrying away, my friend was like, uhhh so can we order now!? Even with the menus all scattered around she was oblivious... Usually that wouldn't be upsetting to me at this point, but more little things to come.... So the food, yeah it's fried and yummy, but at the end of the day if you slap fast fried food on a table with a nice ambience with dim lighting and nice chairs... sure... it's "good". I was annoyed because when I ordered, my whole table kept on ordering sides with there entrees, not seeing this called out below my menu portion .... Like, "all entrees come with a side or fries" blah blah blah, I diligently asked the waitress like, oh so I get all this listed in the [name of entree] with TWO sides!? And she was like yes! And I was so in awe and made this like omg that's great response that she just ate up... Nope lies...I got my entree, and it was suppose to come with two sides, along with the ones I ordered.. nope! Apparently mentioning it and asking about it beforehand didn't matter. Yay, go service! and she just blatantly waved it off. Like, we discussed this.... because yes, I commented on it right after she served it. I got the mac and cheese side, and it was gone in like three bites. Lame! I used to love Cheddars, they have the best lunch combo menu, their fried chicken is so juicy, crispy and good, their sirloin is seasoned to perfection. Their service has gone downhill and fast. Took 15 minutes for our server to notice us, another 15 for drinks, then forgot 2 of our side orders. By the time we spotted our sever we were almost done. Then it took 15 minutes to grab my payment. Hardly Scratch. I had the club sandwich and the bacon was the packaged and precooked kind. The bacon actually had solidified bacon fat covering it. Oh Cheddar's Lutz you have once again failed me. After giving you glorious reviews in 2016 I have to now eat crow on your service. Since I live rather close I have often ordered To Go from your establishment. Always the same thing, pecan chicken salad. Today will be the 12th time that I have placed an order, gotten home and I am missing what I ordered. Pecans and now the croissant that comes with it! I even when as far as telling the young lady extra pecans since Cheddar's always does this to me and she laughed! Yet you failed me once again. Even one of your previous manager's Logan was aware of the situation. I can't begin to tell you how many times I called and spoke with him on the phone. We were even on first name basis. He called me the pecan chicken salad lady. I know he is still with the company but I don't know the location just give him a shout and he'll tell you. At any rate I honestly think that quality control is a huge issue and it appears to be a huge undertaking for this location. Perhaps using this forum it will be corrected rather quickly. read more

Well, let me start off and say we were a little daring to try this new Wesley Chapel/Lutz/Premium Prime Outlets restaurant on its second week of opening! They allowed call ahead seating and let me put down my name for a party of 10, stating that if I arrive in 45 minutes they would accommodate us. Making my way through the crowd when I got there to the hostess stand, the girl verified our name and said she would call our name shortly. 20 minutes later, I checked on my name and saw that it was not on there and she re-wrote my name.... Again, 30 minutes later we went up the the stand pretty fired up, when things started moving along and they called our name 7 minutes later....Not a great first impression! Now we are considered regulars, as we have visited the Cheddar's out in Brandon and in researching this new "Scratch Kitchen" we thought it would be different or at least have a different flare. It did not! Menu was practically still the same and we could have headed out to Brandon, finished eating and be back before our meal was finished here at Wesley Chapel! The meal took forever and my hubby (who's birthday we were celebrating) was getting anxious and ready to leave asap. My friend ordered the white fish, I ordered a hamburger. Told Jonathan I just wanted mustard & Xxxxx pickles I even said if they could put their hand in the barrel, I would take a handful. I don't know if he had a thing going on with the other person at the other table but he paid more attention to her, even sitting down in the booth with her. Our order came out, my friend couldn't eat her fish. My hamburger came out with 2 pickle chips on it. I bought it to his attention, there must be a dill pickle shortage I didn't hear about, he brought back 2 more pickles. But when it came to the bill, He was more than ready to point out the survey on the check, for us to fill out. Guess we will wait couple of months before we try Cheddars again.
