Went in, smelled bad and it was not welcoming or inviting at all so we left. Wouldn't bother making the trip.

We had a meet-up and this was yi ye place. The atmosphere was great, the waitstaff familiar. They have a wide selection of local beers in tall boy cans and a favorite Marker 48 Ale on draught. The food was hit or miss and the attention to detail was sub-par. The best: pizza! The thin-crust pizza is a delight. It was crisp, held up to a heavy portion of the Ng of delicious fresh mozz and Colby jack chees and the mushroom were some of the best I've had. The average was the salad bowl. Ordered with the dressing in the dude, it was presented with no dressing. When asked the server said "it is mixed in" which is not how ordered. They did provide an "extra" side. The poor. Sadly, I can not recommend the Siuthern Style Poutine. Tater tots just do not hold up under gravy n cheese. They crumble. Also, southern gravy is very temperamental and this one was cold and sticky. Finally, having been born and raised in the great state of Wisconsin I am familiar with cheese curds from a very young age. This was my first experience where they actually melted and ran. I was surprised. Overall an above average experience. I say try it yourself. A solid "B" for me! read more

I've been going to the black sheep since it opened because it's a good location for me and the food was pretty good when they first opened. It's gone way downhill. They only have two servers for the whole restaurant. My dad ordered a large salad and got two small bowls. I ordered the broccoli Alfredo and it tasted like there was no sauce whatsoever. Black Sheep is local favorite. I was attracted by one of the dish. The Florida Man. It is the gator medallion with pork belly bacon. However, the dish is kind changed in price from their web site pricing. It increases 40% in price. The explanation is gator hunter price went up. Also this dish is not served anymore. So I got the the art attack. It is the killer smash burger with bacon and coney sauce. It is good with the burger. But it needs to be more crispy on the edge. We got the chicken fries. It is just ok. Overall is good. But I think they need to make it more interesting menu. read more

Two comments I have to make about the black sheep's menu. First of all their Guinness is somewhat flawed. The other thing is that in very limited menu they have an item called a Cuban sandwich. It is a sandwich but only a sandwich. It in no way the classic Cuban sandwich. Other than that it's an OK place, but not outstanding. read more

Deserves more than 5 stars - what a great find!!! Hidden gem! I can't think of anything negative to say about it except that I wish it was closer to my house! I stopped by on a quiet weekday afternoon for a drink and some food. I had just missed the lunch crowd so I easily found a seat at the bar. Luz was my server/bartender and she was absolutely phenomenal. She made fantastic drinks and was a pleasure to chat with throughout my visit. For food, I ordered the Buffalo NY salad with grilled chicken and I am still drooling over it. Massive portion, super fresh ingredients and one of the best Caesar dressings I have ever had. All dressings are house made. I had to take a cup home with me. I snooped at the food that other people were ordering while I was there and everything looked fantastic. I need to go back and eat here again ASAP. The interior is very quaint and the owners did all of the decor on their own which is impressive. Plenty of TVs and they have special events on the calendar like parties and trivia nights. The staff seemed very close knit and treated each other like family. Plenty of parking and very clean bathrooms too. I'd tell you to stop by if you're in the area, but this place is worth driving out of your way to visit! read more

Oh my. I have been waiting on this review, I could not be first to review and not have it 5*. I just couldn't do it! But alas, others have visited. I hate to go bad, especially this place, so many have tried to make it a success, but again, this place missed, way way missed. The service was happy, but a bit lost. Bar and drinks are solid, basic no frills here. The food was ok, burger served on Texas toast, cute names but didn't deliver on taste. Missed the sauce on the side, glopped on that poor toast, unable to hold up against the toppings. Stirfry aka bobs kabobs were an interesting addition to the menu. Not t bad, but not memorable. The wings were missing meat, gator was crisp. Ceasar sale was huge, dripping in dressing and I think a whole wheel of Parmesan was shaved on top! Too much. Had lunch there with a coworker today. The service was excellent, we were greeted and seated right away, and our drinks came out fast. It has a really cool pub feel and has pool tables and games for the whole family. What I wasn't expecting was how freakin good the smash burgers were! Hands down the best I've had in the area, can't wait to come back when I'm not working to check out their drink menu and karaoke! It's a must try if you're in the area. read more

I would give this place 2 stars based on my ho hum margarita pizza. Not much taste in sauce and the olive oil on top tasted rancid to me. BUT hubbie loved his black sheep burger! So, with the friendly prompt service I'll give it 3 stars. Most likely would not return. read more

Went on a Tuesday trivia and taco night. Had the tacos gringo style the 1st 2 I had came out cold but delicious. I ordered another and it was warm. We also had Mac and cheese and fresh chips with queso. Everything was very tasty and service by Mellisa was excellent. read more

This place recently reopened with a new name and theme. Stopped in to check it out and was pleasantly surprised. Was expecting another so so pub and this is much better. Lots of wood inside. I think it is all reclaimed, so that's a good thing. Lots of stuff on the wall that reflect the Black Sheep theme. Great selection of beer and liquor. There is a real dart board and juke box for entertainment as well. The food is very good, excellent selection of burgers and wings. Some of the best wings I've had in the area. They have one appetizer that seems to be very popular, the Crazy Coney. Waffle fries with Coney Island style chili and cheese. Very tasty. Glad they opened, will be going back soon! read more

I really wish I could write a five star review for the black sheet pub, however, we went there last night with a couple of our friends for karaoke. We got there at 6:30. We ordered our food and it took well over an hour before we got it. The excuse the waitress gave was of a large party that sit next to us. about a month and a half two months ago we went there for the same reason, karaoke , we had the exact same problem with the service and the time frame of getting the food. only this time the waitress blamed it on the small kitchen that they have at the restaurant. Because of this, I only ordered an appetizer, because last time I ordered a smash burger, and it came out totally over cooked and burnt. This time my friends wife ordered the chicken fingers and they came out really over crispy. She's not the complaining type so she did not say anything. Anyway, I think this location and the theme of their restaurant/pub has a lot of potential, but they really need to get their act together with their food and their service. read more

We had a pretty great experience here on St. Patrick's Day! My boyfriend has come here a few times for lunch and says service is always good and food is good. We went there about 6pm and found the ambiance lively but not overwhelming for dinner and drinks. Live music was playing, but wasn't deafening even when we sat nearby at the bar. It took a minute to get food and drink orders in, but the pricing was a nice change from being gouged and the bartenders were friendly- just kinda had to yell at the bartender for her to take my order at one point. He got the corned beef and cabbage, which tasted heavily of nutmeg or cinnamon perhaps to me but he enjoyed it. Very tender, I just couldn't get past that spice. Maybe clove? I'm not sure. I had hot chicken fries and French fries and was pretty pleased at the homemade quality impression it made with me. Very spicy, nice breading, and had the texture of actual chicken. The biggest downside is you can't take a drink outside to smoke, and the mosquitoes are REAL heavy outside this establishment. I acquired about 15 bites from 20 minutes outside. If you're a smoker, it's worth covering up to come here. We did however meet a group of regulars that were phenomenally friendly and made the experience even better. First, I have to admit that the food quality has really improved. Both the Chicken and the Grouper Nuggets are always a hit with the table. Additionally, the portion size on most items (e.g., the Caesar Salad Chicken Wrap and the Fowl Play [Grilled or Fired Chicken Breast Sandwich]) has gotten much more reasonable. The pricing is modest (the Fowl Play is $14), but the "nickel and dime" add-ons are infuriating. I (perhaps) can understand that blue cheese crumbles on a sandwich may justify an added $1, but a side of honey mustard is also $1? The coup de grâce for me, however, was when I was charged $1 extra for "extra mayo." I asked to speak with a manager, but when we waited over ten minutes for someone to come to the table (there was one other table besides us there), I decided to put the payment (and still a 20% tip, as I don't believe in necessarily punishing a server for what I consider to be an establishment's shortcomings,) which equated to more than $30 per person, on the table and just leave. read more

This pub came up in a recommendation from Yelp, so we decided to check it out. The overall theme of this place was very cool and I was so hoping to enjoy a weekend afternoon here. However, the very first thing we noticed was that there were very few customers for a weekend. I think there were 4-6 people (including ourselves) who were there for the couple hours we were there. Regardless, we sat at the bar and ordered drinks. The bartender was abrasive. There is no other way to say it - she had a fowl mouth and was passive aggressive the whole time we were there. At first we thought it was funny, but as she continued over and over and over, it became abrasive and annoying. Additionally, she had no idea how to make the Manhattan that was on their menu (one of only a few drinks on the menu). How does a person bartend and have no idea how to make this simple drink? Additionally she mentioned how much she hated all the 'black': The plates, the table tops, etc. I get it that she didn't like it... but it was the entire theme of the pub - and I for one respected that. As a small business owner myself, I was disheartened to hear her complain about things in the place that was paying her to be there. I could imagine with a different bartender our day would have turned out differently. We had the deviled eggs as an appetizer which was AMAZING. We so badly wanted to try more food, but had to leave due to the negativity coming from the bartender. If I could make a recommendation to the owner of this pub, after the obvious mention of hiring better staff - I would highly recommend getting some board/table top games for patrons to use. They have dart boards, but we noted that - with a more pleasant bartender and a few games to play - we could have made an entire afternoon in this pub. We could have had appetizers and drinks, then continued to drink and play games until we were hungry for a burger or something else on the menu. I hate it that we won't be back - it was a little bit of a drive and we have very similar pubs closer to our home - but I'd really would have liked to try more off their menu. As a server I was expecting the minimum. This is my first time on yelp. Sadly I literally downloaded this app to leave this review. We never even got her name, but she was the woman with the black shirt ponytail and bangs. Unfortunately the blonde food runner was more attentive than our server. She was unfamiliar with drinks and how they are served. Asking my mother if she wanted a rum and Coke on the rocks and I think that says enough. As an appetizer we ordered chicken fries that were very promising until our entrees arrived. I would never recommend their Caesar salad or wrap. Croutons were extremely soggy and the dressing was tangy. Order the caprese mac tho!!! We had to ask for our check twice after sending back a chicken ceasar salad. We ordered take out this past weekend and were less than impressed. Tiny sandwiches on grilled white bread should not be $12 each - yet here we are. My husband ordered a mac & cheese with bacon sandwich and waffle fries. He described it as Kraft mac n cheese. From the look of it there was maybe a quarter cup of mac n cheese on the entire sandwich. I ordered what I thought was an impossible/beyond burger with swiss and mushrooms under the build your own handhelds plant-based option. What I got was mushrooms and swiss cheese between two pieces of grilled white bread. I'm sure the rent and overhead is expensive in that location but seriously our meals weren't worth more than a couple of dollars and certainly not the $24 we paid for them. read more

We stopped in after pulling off the highway on our way from Tampa airport to visit friends in Inverness. Was Monday night before Thanksgiving and the Bucs were playing Monday night football. Just a few folks in the restaurant but very friendly and serious fans. Bartender recommended the deviled eggs topped with pork belly and the chicken wings that come served many ways. We chose the mango habanero. Great choices and hit the spot after a long flight. They were advertising a Sink or Swim event from 9pm to midnight on Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. I asked the Bartender what it was. All you can drink from 9 to midnight for 20 bucks. I imagine that a few folks may have been a little hungover on Thanksgiving after that. read more

Very disappointed with our first try of this local spot . Our server was very kind and helpful, but the food was so not worth the price. The garlic Parm wings seemed to have no sauce at all, just some flakes of parmesan cheese on top, but otherwise completely dry and flavorless. Got the signature "Make No Misteaks" sandwich that's supposed to have thinly sliced beef, but it was just sloppy hamburger helper between toast. Well we walked in and there was almost no one there. It was a Sunday afternoon. We liked the bar itself and the staff was very nice and friendly. That is where it ended. One of the bartenders/ servers could not stop coughing and it did not stop her from continuing to walk around coughing with out covering her mouth and washing her hands before touching everything else. The food was far from good. My wife ordered the fish tacos and it was little nuggets of fish not strips. The tortillas were so burnt from the grill that they were inedible. The tocos came with tortillas chips that seemed like they were made there and they were soggy. I ordered the sausage. The sausage was just not cooked properly and the bun was burnt.
