We sat at the bar, as I often do for quicker service. The bartender, who I believe may have been named Sarah, greeted us and took our order. When my cousin asked for lemon pepper wings, she informed us that this flavor was not available but suggested an alternative seasoned with Tajín. My cousin was unfamiliar with Tajín, so I briefly explained that he is Puerto Rican and that this seasoning is not commonly used in Puerto Rican culture like it is in southern America (such as Mexico for example). For reference, my cousin is full Puerto Rican and I'm half. In response, the bartender stated, "they are all the same anyways." Implying that all spanish cultures are the same. This comment was unexpected and made both of us feel uncomfortable, as it came across as a broad generalization. The interaction negatively impacted what is usually an enjoyable visit. It created an awkward atmosphere and affected our overall experience. As someone who has regularly chosen this location for lunch and has recommended it to others, this was disappointing. We came for lunch today and stayed way longer to watch the FedEx Cup - were buying apps and drinks for what turned into hours and then with one hole left the manager, Bove, changed the channel and we missed the end. He half heartedly apologized and said it was because he was worried about the news. "Funniest" part was then he turned it immediately back to the same channel for the Bucs game, Bove was a real disappointment and clearly doesn't understand what his role is. Came in after church for some lunch. Seated immediately since they just opened. Greeted by our server upon sitting and our drink orders taken. I ordered the French onion soup as a starter and 6 wings (garlic parm) as my meal. The soup was out in no time but our entrees took FOREVER!! There were parties seated after us that got their meals before we got ours. Our waiter came over once to apologize for the lateness. When our meals did finally arrive I noticed more wings than I ordered. It wasn't our waiter that brought the food so I waited for him to come by and called him over. In my opinion with the low traffic around 4pm, it appeared to be reasonable staffed. The prime rib was decent, but I asked for sautéed onion on the crunchy side and not cooked well. I received the opposite! The hostess (Kylie) seated me quickly and was very friendly. My server was friendly and tried his best to get my food out quicker, but his hands were tied. The restaurant and restrooms were clean! I've visited this location several times in the past, but they lack consistent level of service overall. Management has to fix the kitchen. I came here for the Father's Day special. Since this is Father's Day, I came at 11 am. They run a special of the prime rib to treat father. Since our arrival was early before the roasted prime rib is ready, the manager willing to allow the same price of the ribeye instead of prime rib. I am definitely happy to get the substitute. The ribeye was grilled to the temperature I order and have good amount of meat. Definitely is hood steak. This dish come with two side and I got Cesar salad and the broil broccoli. We also got the fried calamari as appetizer. It is great to have with their dipping sauce. This miller is kind of new to the area. I like their design of the seat. Overall **** 4.17 Weighted Stars. Miller's has easy access with ample parking , really solid food at ridiculously good prices. It has turned into my go-to for an easy, chill bite without it costing me an arm and a leg. (11/17/23) Setting **** One of the best attributes is the location. It is near the outlet mall, major highways and an easy drive from Lutz, Wesley Chapel and LOL. There are probably a dozen or so restaurants in the area but Miller's is separate from all that craziness, with an easy in and out parking lot unlike the others. Inside it is a clean, fairly generic looking modern pub with dark wood, stone and brown tones but it is comfortable. There are TV's everywhere playing just about every sport going on at the time. The inside three sided bar is large however the tap handles sit high and disrupt the view across. They don't technically have any outdoor dining but there is a square bar in another room that has roll up windows for the outside feel. I bring this up because the lack of outside dining area means no dogs allowed. Service *** We only sit at the bar and everyone I have interacted with has been friendly and can offer up suggestions with ease. With that said it can be a little hit or miss on getting special requests done correctly. Food **** Items I have tried have all been very good and I definitely recommend the French Dip (available Thursday- Sunday). Salads have been solid and on my last visit I tried the highly recommended Mimi's Fiesta Rice Bowl. It is sort of a strange dish as I don't think all the ingredients work harmoniously together but the chicken was juicy and tender. Overall it was much better than I expected and wouldn't hesitate to order it again. Value ***** Most entrees are below $20 as my bowl was $16, my wife's grilled chicken Caesar $14. The fish was perfectly prepared and the portion size was generous. My husband went with the Big Red Chicken sandwich. He thought it was a good sandwich, but he was expecting more flavor.
