I came here because I donated blood and they handed me a little card that stated I can get a free scoop or sandwich at this location. It was my first time coming here so I asked the young lady behind the counter which one does she suggest. I was recommended to try the spicy buffalo and it was amazing. I opted to have the bread toasted and with lettuce and tomatoes. So my wife got me into CSC since she's a big fan. I've come to like the business and the food. It's nice to have an alternative to the burger, taco, standard fast food joints out there. The menu is surprisingly extensive considering chicken salad is the core item. My favorite is the Cranberry Kelli...chicken salad with a hint of sweetness. It's a nice comb with the pickle and soup of the day (chicken florentine for me!). They are always busy during lunch so be prepared for long lines though. This is probably the one knock I have. When ordering online, you get a time provided for pickup. Generally it's 20-30 minutes after you place your order. However, it's often not ready for you when you get there. I've had to wait an additional 10 minutes everytime I've ordered online for pickup. It's not terrible, but could definitely be done better. Otherwise, this restaurant has the home town feel where if you want to take your time and have some lunch by yourself or with friends, it's a nice to place to go. These folks always come through. I recently ordered through Grubhub for delivery and I was very pleased! Not only was the delivery driver extremely nice, but the online ordering online process was very easy. I get so annoyed with a 10 step online process but this was very simple. I ordered the "Chick Trio" with a scoop of Buffalo Barclay (spicy), the Classic Carol on a croissant, and a cup of baked potato soup. Still just great experience after great experience, even with delivery. I haven't eaten much in the past few days due to mental health and poor restaurant experiences so I ordered a hefty amount today- a full Fancy Nancy sandwich on toasted white bread with lettuce and a bowl of loaded baked potato soup. The soup was really hot when I got it, to the point I saw steam and had to blow on it! The sandwich was still a little cold for the salad portion which was perfect. We've learned that the pickles are a no go and have a weird texture, but everything else including the free cookie is wonderful. This has become a personal favorite of mine since Arbys doesn't sell their version of this all year and no soup, it's the perfect lunch time option for something light but filling. read more

I have been here once before, the flavor is always delicious, but the first time I remember it being a little pricey. After ordering I was taken aback by the $12 cost at first, but then I remembered I just spent $12 at Taco Bell yesterday. $2 of that was the overpriced amazing sugar cookies they sell. I wouldn't typically pay $2 for a cookie, but these are too good to pass up. I ordered the Trio, which consisted of a old South flavored chicken salad croissant, a scoop of the normal flavor which I can't remember the name of now, and the grape salad. First, the grape salad is definitely not a salad, but it is delicious. I would say it is more like a desert, being sweet grapes with a whipped cream sauce, brown sugar, pecans flakes. For $12 I was full and had a little of the chicken salad scoop left for a to go snack later. My only complaint is that though the crackers are also tasty, they are so flaky that you can't possibly scoop the chicken salad with them. I guess that's why they serve it with a fork. The staff is always friendly and helpful, the food is always fresh, you can taste samples of the chicken salad before ordering, AND you get a super tastey cookie with your meal! Why 5 stars? Because I stand by that the Barbie-Q is something I'll always be in the mood for. --- --- --- I've had other chicken salads from Chicken Salad Chick, but the Barbie-Q is just so perfect that it's too tough to try and work my way through the rest of the menu. Every time I visit, I go with ole' reliable. I'm happy that there's a CSC closer to my house than the USF location, but unfortunately it's only a tad closer. If they put one of these in Carrollwood, my wife and I will definitely patronize it many-a-time. As for now, it's more of an occasional treat. While the perfect side from the Barbie-Q sandwich would be a bit "carbier," the grape salad is an excellent treat to add on to your order that's sweet, but not too caloric. I always get the wheatberry bread (it's just wheat bread, not actually sweet with berries) toasted with the Classic Carol with lettuce and tomato. I haven't ventured out and tried any of their specialty chicken salads b/c this one is just classic and good...although I'm sure they are all great! My husband's go to is the wheat berry toasted with classic carol BLT...he likes the bacon added on there. Little heavy on the mayo...but I like chicken salad like that anyhow. Their pasta salad is great, and their food comes fast. Their fall seasonal salad is amazing...I literally crave it. My Mom and I heard the commercial for this place on the radio, so we decided to go check it out. I'm a little conflicted on how to rate this place. Today was my very first time here! I was soooo excited. My sister and clients come here all the time and recommended it to me. So I stopped in after running some errands for lunch. It was so busy for a Thursday afternoon which tells me it's delicious. When I started to order I told the cashier it was my first time. She had no personality at all.. just seemed in a rush to get me out of the way even though there was no one behind me. I ordered the Buffalo chicken salad with the broccoli salad as a side for $8. My food came out so quick. It was a big scoop of chicken salad, a big side of broccoli salad and it came with crackers and a cookie. Pretty good deal. I would give it negative stars if I could. The manager Darlin is horrible. She took my order then other one then like 6 min later another couple came in and ordered. There food came out before mine even after the girl at the counter said to do mine next. I asked for the manager and Darlin comes out after being asked twice she said oh well there is only one person back there. I said well I ordered before them so my food should have come out first. She said oh well we are short staffed as 3 more employees came walking in. I said I wanted a refund and at this point you could tell I was not happy . First impressions are everything, and this place nailed it. The moment I walked in the restaurant the place was spotless. Not a dirty table or floor in sight. I had quite a large order as I was ordering for the office. Karen was the one that took my order and she was just fabulous. She was patient and helped me order for everyone. The manager at this location approached me and my boyfriend after paying for our food, said it showed on her end that the money did not go through (we paid with a card and the system kept giving some type of error message that showed as "decline"), but when I checked my bank statement it took the money out and showed the girl at the register that. The way she approached us was rude and loud, (embarrassing) even stopped the server who was bringing us our food. The chicken salad lacked BBQ flavor and the croissant should have been toasted. Also the croissant didn't have that light, buttery, and flaky taste. It was more like wonder bread in a croissant shape. The highlight and best part of the meal was the sugar cookie that was included. My biggest qualm was the service. There were 4 people behind the counter but not that many people in the restaurant so I assume they were bored but they were lax when I approached the counter.
