We wanted to enjoy breakfast out on a Sunday morning, so we decided to visit First Watch. Fortunately, we didn't have to wait long and were seated quickly upon arrival. Our server greeted us, brought menus and a pot of fresh black coffee to start our morning. After browsing the menu, we decided to try some of their spring specials, including the Farmhouse Hash Chicken, Strawberry Lemon Crunch French Toast, Calabrian Chili Chicken Hash, and a side of grits for our little one. The restaurant was quite busy, our food arrived in about 20-25 minutes. The grits were good with our kid simple, warm, and a healthy option. The rest of our breakfast was flavorful and satisfying. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and the dishes were thoughtfully prepared. The Strawberry Lemon Crunch French Toast was the star of the meal which was sweet, and absolutely delicious. Paired with the chicken hash and a strong cup of black coffee, it was the perfect way to kick off our day. I've never been to a First Watch before and as my first time, I was captured by their menu and drinks! It sits in the middle of a plaza across from the Wiregrass mall and is very easy to find in the heart of Wesley Chapel. Hostesses were very nice and seated us right away. We got our menu and had a good look but it was hard to choose as there were no pictures but nothing Google or Yelp couldn't help! Our waitress was super helpful and recommended that I try their new watermelon spiked drink and it was the perfect drink, I had to order another! Let me preface this by saying that I love first watch and their food. However, this morning I had the most horrible experience I've ever had with them. I ordered two pancakes for delivery on Uber Eats. Perfect delivery, absolutely nothing wrong with the driver. I'm digging in to my breakfast (which I ordered because I've been having a bad week and wanted to treat myself) and I bite into something strange. Luckily I spit it out and when I look in my hand, it's a piece of plastic an entire fingertip length long?!?!?!? Absolutely disgusting. What if that plastic came from a chemical container? was it from a cooking utensil? I have literally no idea how a piece of plastics that big can go unnoticed when they are making fresh to order food. The pictures should show about how big it is. I feel sick to my stomach now knowing that I've been the unfortunate recipient of a foreign object in my food. I pray to anything that will listen that the plastic was not contaminated in some way and was just a random wrapper part or something from a bag of flour or sugar I will be very hesitant to order from my prior favorite breakfast spot again... read more

My in laws were in town and I wanted to take them for breakfast with the kiddos and they have a wide variety of options so off we went. I've been to several locations as we love this place for a fresh breakfast over a diner type place and we always love their specials. The special my MIL and I tried this time was the Parmesan prosciutto toast and it was fantastic. Crispy toast piled high with eggs, a lot of prosciutto, dressed arugula & Parmesan. It was FANTASTIC!! We also had mimosas which were delish and my bougie teen got the lavender lemonade which he said was bussin whatever that means . The kids pancake is huge and my daughter loves them!! My FIL had a traditional breakfast and my son had an omelet and they both said they were great. Great customer service today and the food was good! The food was seasoned and cooked well. The fruit bowl, I was told, would have strawberries but there weren't any which was a major disappointment! My son loves strawberries! We arrived early (about 930am) so we had no wait! When we were leaving (around 11am) there was definitely a line building as people waited outside and inside. Best bet is to go in the early AM! We had a great view by a window. I do feel that the seating could have been spaced apart more for social distancing. I'd hate to see how cramped it was before with more tables! The bathroom was clean. They have a changing table for the kiddos! There is parking but I'd say it's limited for the amount of customers in the plaza. Overall it was a good experience and I would return to this location. read more

If you aren't into the "Mexican" part, there are classic breakfast items that I'm sure you will enjoy. This location tends to have an influx of customers however the restaurant tries to seat you as soon as possible and the wait for ordering and getting food is short. They also have a separate menu with seasonal items as well. I also have not had any issues with the staff. They always seem to be in a jovial mood, which I can appreciate. FIVE STAR BREAKFAST! My first time at first watch for breakfast. The whole experience was five star plus. I was greeted warmly when I walked in and seated very quickly. I probably got the best server in the house. Randy was pleasant, polite, professional, and always smiling. I had the avocado toast with fried egg whites. It was done to perfection. Their newest special: Double Crunch Breakfast Tacos Is sure to be a hit with any hungry man (or woman)! They both came packed with pulled carnitas, scrambled eggs, and a slice of bacon; that were perfectly portionate and just enough to quelch the immense hunger I arrived with, after a great workout the night before. The fresh avacodo, homemade pico de Gallo, subtle cilantro, and lime crema flavors all brought me back to my favorite memories of Mexico; where the waves and the weather and the breakfast carnitas tacos always seemed perfect. My family enjoys First Watch for a sit down breakfast spot with healthy options. This particular location is close to home but we try to avoid it on the weekends because of crowds and long waits so I was glad to be able to go on this recent veteran's day when we were both off of work. I used to always order some kind of scramble or hash with salmon but I have been hooked on the AM superfoods bowl since i have tried it. It's a coconut milk chia seed pudding bowl with granola and fresh fruit on top. They serve it with bread and almond butter but I sometimes sub it for breakfast potatoes. On this visit my husband had the pumpkin spice pancake seasonal special. I did not think his dish was the best value... only one pancake, one sausage patty and a small thing of scrambled eggs for 11ish bucks. Pancakes are cheap, they could have easily presented two for that price, or a second sausage. Anyway the 4 stars is because I do find them a bit overpriced. read more

It's been awhile since I've been to this location, but it was convenient for the friend I was meeting. We arrived around 11am and about half the tables were full so we easily got a table. Our server, Randy came quickly with an offer of coffee, but we were "coffeed out" and requested just water and some time to look at the menus. I have a couple of favorites, but was really focusing this time on something that would be more lunch than breakfast, as well as being more low carb yet filling. I asked our server about the Pesto Bowl. It has quinoa which isn't a favorite, but the sound of the pesto, chicken & other ingredients sounded interesting. When he quickly told me it was it was more lunch-like than breakfast so I was still interested. Then he added that it was his favorite item and seemed so sincere, I decided to give it a try. I loved the way it looked, but I don't usually pull out my phone to take pictures at the table. At first bite I was hooked and while quinoa isn't a favorite, I will definitely order again. It was a large enough bowl that I asked for a small box because I was full but didn't want to leave any behind. Randy was friendly, professional and checked in at just the right intervals. The reason I can't give a 5 star review is due to what happened at checkout. In trying to add the tip, the key pad stuck and added extra zeros. I got an apology and they took action to cancel the credit card charge. On try #2 the key pad stuck again but at least it didn't finish that transaction before the associate was able to cancel that out. Third time was the charm. Ok, so that can happen, but as my friend was checking out after me, the keypad stuck for her, too. So it wasn't just how I was pressing the keys. We were told this has happened to others. Fortunately this issue, even for both myself and friend did not result in a long back up of other guests. However, it's the kind of thing that made me feel foolish until it happened to my friend while I watched. A rather very awkward experience that was witnessed by at least a couple of other guests. This was a coconut chia pudding bowl, mixed berry and a berry compote with a side of their whole grain toast with almond butter and sea salt. Super good, super satisfying. They seem to have a routine which made operations inside run smooth. However, what's entirely UNACCEPTABLE is that many of the elderly & those with no phones or decent cell service are unable to get the daily Specials menu. The waiter said NO paper specials menu:( There is no Covid-related reason for this when the regular menu is printed & available. Smh. This restaurant is always clean and usually packed on the weekends. DO phone ahead to save your place in line even though there are benches inside for your wait. Weekends here can be a bear, & the parking lot will be cramped. You won't go wrong w/ the food. The thick oat bread is bought from a Florida bakery, & it's delicious. Loaves are available for purchase. The Avocado Toast appetizer w/ 2 eggs is a labor of love; I highly recommend sharing it. There are usually two fresh muffin varieties available daily; request yours grilled-- sooooo good. Burritos here are huge & delicious. Speciality pancakes are as well. The Million Dollar Bacon appetizer (caramelized) @ $4.99 is excellent. The Honey Pecan Chicken Salad (w/ bacon & avocado) is delicious. I've seriously NEVER had an appetizer, entree, or salad here that was not DELICIOUS. Breakfast & lunch are served from open till close. The restaurant is very clean. Capacity is limited at this time & face masks are mandatory throughout the state as you walk to & from your table. The menu has so many great options so it was really hard to choose. I wanted to order at least three different things. I managed to keep my urges in check and settled for one very tasty meal. I have been watching too much Chef Ramsay these days so I have been expanding my palate. When I spotted eggs benedict on the menu I decided to go for it. I have a serious love hate relationship with eggs...long story I'm glad I finally tried eggs benedict for the first time at First Watch because it was absolutely delicious. My aunt tried a bite and said it was one of the best ones she'd had so it was definitely good. I also had a side of bacon and potatoes which were also tasty. The bacon was so perfect that we ordered an additional side of bacon for the table. My cousin got a waffle with scrambled eggs and of course, bacon. She enjoyed her meal as well.
