This tables are nicely spread out so you never feel crowded and I love all the chalkboards announcing what's new on the menu or just reading their daily affirmations. Ambience and service, no problems. But at this location, I was served possibly the most unsatisfying Classic Eggs Benedict ever. The bread was hard and chewy. One out of two eggs was a dangerous minute or two away from becoming a hard-boiled egg. The hollandaise sauce was runny. And to make it worse, the seasoned potato side was mostly dried out potatoes. On Saturday morning, we had breakfast at First Watch, one of our favorite restaurant chains. We had breakfast at First Watch before. The restaurant boasts a spacious parking lot with ample parking spaces. However, during peak hours, we had to endure a brief wait of approximately 5-10 minutes before being seated at our table. Nonetheless, the restaurant's ambiance exudes a pleasant and positive atmosphere. Upon arrival, Tori, our server, greeted us warmly and provided us with menus and water. After perusing the drink options, we decided on the Kale Tonic and Mint Mocha Iced Coffee. For breakfast, we ordered the Chickichanga with a side of toast and Fritta Rustica. Our drinks arrived promptly, and the Kale Tonic was a delightful and healthy way to begin the day. The Mint Mocha Iced Coffee was delicious, although a bit sweet for our taste. We had to wait around 15-20 minutes before our breakfast plates were served. Initially, we had the scrumptious Chickichanga which had been cooked perfectly and made for a great breakfast dish. Following that, we tried the Fritta Rustica which was also fantastic, with a delicious and impressive omelette. Pros: Food quality- I ordered my standard 2 pancakes and they were equivalent to the Fowler location in terms of size, taste, and freshness. Speed: I was placed at a table quickly, and I got my food and bill pretty quickly. Cons The table was not thoroughly wiped down. There was syrup in a few spots on the table. Also, the creamer container was almost empty and there was no attempt to refill it. Normally, I wouldn't care, but since I ordered coffee, I was dismayed. I did not get a carafe of tap water which they usually do at Fowler without asking. Misc: The building has vaulted ceilings which differentiates it from other FW. I normally love First Watch but if this was my first time eating there I would never go back. I was there about a week ago on a Friday at about 1130-12. I ordered the traditional breakfast, as that's my go to and got a fruit bowl instead of eggs since I don't eat eggs, the fruit they brought me looked like it was for a little kid. It wasn't their normal mixed fruit it was just chopped up strawberries and bananas. I also ordered bacon with my breakfast and asked for it crispy. First they brought me sausage and I told the lady it was supposed to be crispy bacon, she then brings me out bacon that was barely cooked and was literally cold. So I asked once again for crispy bacon, the waitress then brings out burnt bacon that looks like it was cooked in the microwave. When she brought me the bacon she said I know it's burnt I'm sorry. The bacon wasn't even edible, it tasted burnt. Needless to say I was over it at this point and just returned the whole meal. The only right thing they had with my order was the morning mediation juice I ordered. There was no excuse for my bacon to first be cold and then overcooked and burnt, it should've never been served, I would be embarrassed to even bring that out to someone. My husband and I have been coming here consistently for the last 3 months. At least 2/3 times a month for breakfast. My husband's favorite breakfast spot! We have yet to have a bad experience. My fiancé asked for a bowl with several modifications because she is lactose intolerant. When it finally came 50+ minuets later, It still had cheese and eggs even though she asked for no eggs and cheese. The bowl was also missing bacon, the honey BACON Brussels hash bowl had NO bacon. You'd think if it's in the name of the bowl it would have it but someone must have dropped the ball. My fiancé was scared to say anything because she didn't want to wait another 50+ minute for a new bowl made correctly. So she just ate around the ingredients she asked to have removed and by doing so left half the bowl uneaten. She wasn't even full when we left the restaurant. What's there not to live about a First Watch. Staff is always attentive and friendly despite this specific location being probably one of the busiest in the area. The "wait in line" option has always been extremely helpful and I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes when I use it. Livinggg for the fact they offer "grown up drinks" here now. Can't go wrong when ordering the waffle with the amazing berry compote. I decided I wanted something rich and decadent and I've been to this first watch many times I know the menu inside and out, but today I tried this thing they have called chickenchanga. It hits the spot . Perfect size the sauce they have I believe is called Veracruz sauce delicious with a little bit of spice if you can deal with it. With some rustic potatoes which were okay but the main focus was the wrap and a side of fruits. The acid of the fruit helped. Make sure to ask for a sharper knife as you would need to cut through the wrap makes it easier to eat it. Again very live surroundings kinda loud if you're okay with that. Last time it was our server that was bad and rude and this time it was the kitchen that was the problem. Our food took over 1 hr to come out. And when the food came out it was cold. When I when to pay I told the cashiers, their answer was a very arrogant: "well everyone wants to come here for lunch". That's it for me. Ecstatic to have a breakfast place in New Tampa with outside seating. Die hard fan of sister location in Wesley Chapel which is a further travel. Pros: continues the tradition of hot and tasty meals with a rotation of new items. Cons: after being a guest here more than half a dozen times, kitchen staff has trouble with menu add on or exceptions... small items like ketchup or a side of dressing are continually missed. You end up waiting until your server appears again and then waiting again until they slowly return, more often than not half way through your meal. We went to their soft opening this weekend. Everything was very smooth. The decor inside is similar to the newer restaurants but has a little bit more of a farm vibe. There is also seating outside, all covered. Staff were all very friendly and the food was so delicious. We got the million dollar bacon (specials menu), Bacado omelette, and the roast beef sandwich. Okay - the food is excellent and the service is good. However, what really brought the rating down is the NOISE. It's so LOUD that at 2/3rd full, it sounds about as loud as a high school basketball game inside! The open concept kitchen didn't help with the sound either (I had a nice view of the water softener (?), soda syrup boxes and brooms). There is no sound deadening anywhere - no wonder the order was missing items - how can the servers hear anything? Having a conversation is very difficult if not impossible.
